8681  Other / Meta / Re: Is it time to change some negative trust ratings to neutral or delete them? on: April 02, 2021, 05:46:56 PM
With trust flags negative trust feedback has become redundant and a negative factor for the community. It should probably be done away with altogether. I doubt negative feedback has had much of an effect if any when it comes to stopping scams and flags can handle the job just fine.

I’m going to buy a Tesla Cybertruck using Bitcoin and I’m documenting the experience on this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5326636.0

I’m hoping I’ll be able to tour the factory and drive it home myself to capture that experience as well. Might be a good thread to check back on in a year.

I only take the top 10 in the ranking. Liking the Jazz and Nets as they stay consistent, whiel 76ers also have some great performance despite missing Embiid.
Yeah, I watched the 76ers a lot of times trying to analyze how they can still win the game without Embiid.
There is actually a simple answer. The floor had been spread more unlike last year.

With Danny Green and Seth Curry being a threat in the 3 point field, Harris and Simmons can move freely and attack the paint.
Howard stats is the best product at 18 points and 15 rebounds against the Cavs. This team is for sure a championship contender, better than how they are against the Raptors losing at the lucky shot of Kawhi.

Well, the Sixers could've a shot at the NBA finals this year If the Nets didn't modified their roster into a more stronger line up.
They (Sixers) have a good player rotation even If Embid misses a few games and I was ready betting at them all the way to the ECF. Everything's changed when the Nets are obviously trying to have an easy way to get a ring.
Anyway, the Bucks, Heat, and the Sixers have still their shot at defeating the very stacked Nets team.
This season isn't a good season by the way, because of the injuries.

It looks like Nets are the most favored team now to win, no team can beat them in the East, and even the current Lakers line up, people still think that a healthy Nets will dominate them. I hope they are wrong, I like to see a good match up in the East and the West and does not like the Nets to dominate in the East, at least take it to game 6 or 7.

I will never count out LeBron, but he’s gonna need to do something special to take down this Nets team. Aldridge went off in his debut tonight with a nice little streak early on. His teammates were stoked. If he’s playing like this and Durant comes back healthy, they’re the best team ever.

who won? or is this still on going?

Also, what was the mystery card? I saw a Kevin Garnett card on your Instagram page... Could that be the mystery prize? In any event, cool work and good luck with the website. Always great when someone puts effort into promoting Bitcoin and Bitcoin collectibles.

Per report, he only played 14 minutes, I hope the injury is not serious though, it's not good to see Lakers their big man is down and the big 3 will be out in the game. I hope he will come back soon as this is just a toe issue.

https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/basketball/news/lakers-andre-drummond-exits-with-toe-issue/
This kind of issues should be addressed quickly because this is detrimental for players I mean there should have been a revolutionary technology to prevent this kind of sports injury in basketball. Drummond is a really good player and the fact that his toe is the reason that he will be playing for less makes me think of the Achilles heel.

They have the most advance technology but no one could predict an injury since this is a contact sport, it's just unfortunate that he was injurd in his debut with the Lakers but I believe that his injury is not a season ending injury.

Definitely not the start we wanted to see or would have predicted for Drummond’s next chapter. I’m sure the Lakers management are concerned now that they have 3 star players on the sideline. I hope they get their rest and can come together to close out the season strong going into the playoffs.
8687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 31, 2021, 09:32:15 PM
DeMarcus Cousins to the Clippers... probably now that the Lakers moved on Drummond, Cousins had to take his best shot at a title. I’m guessing the Nets didn’t want to make him an offer. He was the best big man in the league when he went down with his injury back in his Pelicans days. A shame that happened. He could have been one of the greats.
8688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 31, 2021, 06:15:38 PM
Drummond’s first game as a Laker is tonight on ESPN. I’m not sure about watching the entire game with no LeBron, but I’ll definitely have to pop in and see how the team looks. Not expecting much after one practice but you never know. Drummond will definitely slow Giannis down a bit inside.
8689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 31, 2021, 06:45:46 AM
Suns vs Hawks tomorrow.
Both are 9-3 for their last 12 games but the Suns are still the favored team at 1.35 ML.
De'Andre Hunter (Hawks) questionable. I guess that's the reason behind the odds. It might change if ever they will announce last minute that he will play.

My bet is for the Suns -6.5. I might also add over 220.5 (single bet).

The line has moved a bit and it's currently -5.5 for Phoenix Suns, but I will be taking the bet regardless.. It seem a very valuable to me and the Over 220.5 Looks like a pretty decent bet as well.

Suns playing at home, why not?

They have a home record of 15-8, that is worth a bet IMO.
Suns are also climbing in the standing, they are always hungry for a win and they are in a big mission this season.

Good luck, this one sounds a legit pick, I'm tailing.

Good bet indeed.  The Suns are outperforming this year with Chris Paul.  They've been a good bet all season.  I can't wait to see them in the playoffs.  I think they might make the second round even.  Anytime they go up against a team with less superstars, I think they have a genuine chance to cover the spread.  I still don't think Ayton is developed enough to push them over the top as a genuine contender yet though.
8690  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have a relatives who ask advise to invest, what should I do? on: March 30, 2021, 09:30:58 PM
I tell people it is going to go higher, and then a lot lower.  If they want to ride the rollercoaster, hop on.  It isn't a set it and forget it situation though.  We're going to see a peak and trough in Bitcoin prices between now and the end of 2023.  Many will get rich and many will lose their shirts.  We're well into the greed cycle right now, so it's dangerous territory.  Then I quote them all the messages I sent telling them to buy BTC below $5, again telling them to buy at $200, and then again telling them to buy at $4,000.  I also let them know that there won't be any more buying opportunity messages in the future, as this is likely the last hurrah.
8691  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [11.2kW SOLAR/WIND/MAN] NastyMining Green Energy Project ☀️💨💪🔋 on: March 30, 2021, 09:09:49 PM
The main downside of crypto is that it not only consumes a lot of power, but also creates a lot of heat.

Thanks for that mind bending comment.

I would counter that statement by saying the an upside of crypto is that it encourages cheaper and more sustainable energy generation practices that could lead to innovation in the field that would not have occurred otherwise.

It's heat generation is also not a problem in many areas.  I know I haven't had to run my heater in years during the winter and if I lived somewhere cold it could be useful all year round.

I think stating only the negatives is a bit short sided.  My house wouldn't be solar powered without Bitcoin, nor would I have ever cared enough to look into other alternative energy generation techniques.
8692  Economy / Speculation / Re: Paypal allows crypto payment for all 29mil merchants on: March 30, 2021, 08:39:14 PM
They don’t let you keep the payment in BTC (or fake BTC on their platform)? Seems like they want you to have to convert the usd back to BTC using their system which will give them additional fees. I guess this is the safe way for new merchants to accept BTC and it will increase their fee revenue for those who want to put it back into BTC, so I understand the decision. Would be cool if there was an option to keep it in BTC though and save on the extra fees with the added conversion step.
8693  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let us all together develop a Price Action Trading System for Bitcoin on: March 30, 2021, 08:21:35 PM
I’ve got a trading system that works pretty good. I accumulate as much BTC as I can and then every 4 years I sell a bunch at the end of the year. December of 2013, 2017, and soon to be 2021 have all been or will be good to me. When you back up and look at a longer chart things get pretty simple.

I believe the old saying is, “Don’t run down and fuck one cow, walk down and fuck them all.”

@ognasty

I'm involved with a sustainable mining operation in Iceland.  We're using volcanoes for power, ice for cooling and reforesting in South America. Would you be interested in meeting us and seeing if we can benefit from each other's work?

Feel free to PM me with any ideas you have or what you're interested in.  While I think generating energy from volcanoes sounds very cool, I'm not sure that's really on my radar as something we want to explore.  I'm always open to listening to ideas though.  Would love to see some volcano pics as well.

How about this one?  I'm sure most of us older folks are familiar with the Game Boy.  Who could forget the system that made the world fall in love with Tetris?  It's nice to see people are still doing cool stuff for the sake of doing cool stuff.

Youtuber Builds a Bitcoin Miner Out of a 31-year old Nintendo Game Boy

On Saturday, a popular Youtuber named Stacksmashing published a video that shows him hacking a 1989 Nintendo Game Boy in order to mine bitcoin. Despite the creativity and the fact that the miner only leverages four double-A batteries, Stacksmashing noted that the 8-bit handheld game console was not nearly as powerful as today’s modern mining rig.

We could all hold BTC. When did NastyMining turn into a no interest savings account?

The only major expanding that seemed to happen was relating to home improvements and exercise equipment for alternative energy sources... apparently to power all the miners we were not expanding on.

You should hold BTC. Diversification is key to any portfolio.

I’m glad you appreciate the work I have done to go green and the cycling machine that was donated to help generate electricity. I look forward to continuing to run miners with renewable energy and donating the hashes to NastyFans. I’d love to see growth in other areas.  Smiley

I’ve got one I’d probably sell for 0.3 BTC depending on where you’re located if you were interested. I haven’t gotten it graded but I am the original owner and did select it as being the best from a roll of them. PM me if you’re interested and I’d be happy to walk you through the sale.

with as much as the seats have brought in, why has the mining not expanded?

From my understanding, it is a single gpu - or is there more than that? And if it is a single gpu - why not expand?

This is an easy question. Holding BTC has made us a substantial amount of money that we would have missed out on had I expanded the mining operation. If I had spent this money to expand you would be complaining that we would have been better off holding. I’ve been in Bitcoin a long time and decisions like this to wait in order to spend funds has historically been the right one and I’m glad my gamble paid off for us all.

We have 2 VII’s and an S17 operating currently. Anyone is free to join me in donating hashes to NastyFans as this is a community organization. I’m leading by example with my mining operation and product line but expect someday I will not be alone in donating to this venture as others continue to grow their interest in the organization’s longterm success.

I don’t know how in touch you are with the mining community but it is nearly impossible to find a GPU or ASIC for sale right now at anywhere near MSRP. If you can provide new mining equipment at MSRP let me know and I’ll happily expand when the time is right (likely near the end of the year if history repeats).

In response to the above post I should mention the 125% ROI fact I posted was about 1oz silver minted seats which are coins and a majority of their cost is for services like address generation, engraving, precious metals, etc.

When talking about regular NastyFans digital seats, the ROI on those is closer to 3,000%.
