8701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why DOGECoin will go up 3000% again on: April 02, 2014, 10:51:46 PM
After the race they will dump them anywhere possible. Coins spent doesn't mean they are gone. I will wait for 1 satoshi  Grin

When its market cap will be the same as Hobonickels? Dream on Wink

I forgot how are hobonickels doing these days man that was a weird coin thinking back
8702  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 700 TH/s or 8.68 GH/s per share on: April 02, 2014, 10:49:44 PM
If you are disheartened by PETA and want out but find yourself without liquidity to sell I would be willing to trade AsicMiner shares 1:15 for PETA shares.

15 PETA Shares of yours to 1 AsicMiner Direct share of mine.  I can handle large quantities.

PM if interested, we can work out the details.

Now that one seems like an interesting investment best of luck with it wonder who will take the offer
8703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the community ready for a global trade ban of bitcoin? on: April 02, 2014, 10:48:39 PM
it can only be banned once

Unless the first time doesn't work. Then it can be banned a second and third time. China is setting the bar for us.

Is the third time the charm? We'll see on April 16th.

Prohibition doesn't work that well in the digital age bu I guess we can see what will happen later
The Russians and The Chinese may accept digital currencies soon if they are not secretly piling them up to replace their heavy reliance on the US dollar as the reserve currency.
8704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why DOGECoin will go up 3000% again on: April 02, 2014, 10:47:25 PM
That dog is gonna sue everyone for using his/her picture.

That actually would be sort of funny anyways much wow much coin when it starts advertising in Nascar
Till then guess BTC going down impacts every other coin so 4X possible profits on doges later lol
8705  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: April 02, 2014, 10:45:47 PM
Thanks stunna for the new rates but I thought we getting paid 0.0005 this month, are you telling me im making 0.0003 now?

The prices keep changing because Ritz's prices keep changing also.  Flip flopping back and forth is dumb.   People should just stick to one...

It should only be edited after the end of the campaign, except if something huge happen like the huge change in the signature rules

Members should look at the first post of the thread and posts of Stunna to know the rules and the rates and avoid asking for it every day!!!

True no need to ask silly questions when its on page 1 Smiley
8706  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining and Solar Electricity on: April 02, 2014, 10:44:01 PM
Hi.  I need some experienced mining folks to give me some feedback.  I work for one of the largest residential solar installers in Arizona and we are also in California.  Our cash payment customers are getting their electricity between $0.04 and $0.06/kWh.  There's been a trend in solar to "oversize" systems by 20-30%.  By this i mean, if a customer is using 10,000 kWh/yr they may purchase a system that's generating between 12,000 and 13,000 kWh/yr.  Personally, I don't like to oversize systems because the "extra" electricity is sold back to the utility company at the end of the year at "wholesale" rates (read: less than what they are paying for the electricity).  It occurred to me that bitcoin mining may be a great way to go for some of these homeowners.  For example:  Over the course of a year the PV system overproduces 2,000 kWh of electricity.  As opposed to selling that electricity back to the utility company at say $0.04/kWh it may be better to drop off a "bit coin rig" at the customers house that's capable of using up the extra 2,000 kWh in the course of say a week.

Questions:
Is it feasible to install a rig of that size at someones home?
How many coins would it likely mint?
From your experience mining bitcoins would profit sharing with the home owner be preferable to say $0.07/ kWh?
Considering hardware costs, is this even a worthwhile endeavor?

It can be feasible the problem is that as difficulty rises profits invariably fall so they will need to upgrade their hardware every few months to maximize the profitability of doing so

That said free electricity and a miner can beat selling it back to the system.

As for coins minted depends on the hashing power
8707  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fire sale! on: April 02, 2014, 10:42:28 PM
ROFL desperate bagholders 'dollar cost averaging' now.

Reminds me exactly of the Silver Stacking cult who couldnt spot the bubble.

LOL yes I am a bagholder since $4 BTC and LTC at $0.005.

I think we call that smart investing and not bagholding Smiley
Then again getting in now does feel like a bullish time in my opinion
8708  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm Out on: April 02, 2014, 10:41:23 PM
worst time to get out actually. Right now i tell everybody to get in.

... well at least OP is in silver and not in fiat. He will be alright.

True enough solid commodities will hold out fine but he did get in at 5 dollars so raking in profits never hurts
Although in my opinion he could have sold a lot more at 1k we don't know his sell prices
8709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the biggest inovation in finance since the lydians used gold as money on: April 02, 2014, 10:40:26 PM
anyone with a smart phone can exchange fiat for bitcoin on the street even today.
every smartphone is essentially a bitcoin exchange.

That is true unless your in the apple ecosystem although there are ways around that
Got to love android blockchain apps Smiley
We need to work on POS (Point of Sale apps though for merchants)
8710  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: My new TREZOR on: April 02, 2014, 10:37:13 PM
That is cool I wanted a trezor but then they sold out of course they open sourced it for people to get later
But I will wait for a batch 2  Grin

Are there theme'able devices in the roadmap? I'd kill for a red and white Hello Kitty one =^).

that's sweet  Grin if there's enough hello kitty lovers we could make it possible...

O_O I would buy a batch of Gundam Themed ones Smiley
8711  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you were born on April Fools Day... on: April 02, 2014, 10:09:24 PM
You would celebrate you birthday like any other birthday, and be the subject of your friends/family jokes.

I would hope so either that or the joke is they forgot your birthday until April 2nd or after noon on April 1st lol i'm sure you would get some lovely collection of prank gifts.
8712  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm Out on: April 02, 2014, 09:10:52 PM
For the first time since I bought my first bitcoins at about $5/ea, I don't own any. With the IRS decision, its obvious [immediate] effects and the slight dip in the price of silver, I headed over to Amagi and spent it all on junk silver (90%). It feels weird to "be out of the game" as far as owning bitcoins goes. Did I make the right decision? Has the ship sailed? Or does anybody think now is the perfect time to hop back on it?

Profit is profit loss is loss

But well I think you should have waited longer but can always come back in if the price drops further
8713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoins Purpose? Or have we Forgotten.. on: April 02, 2014, 09:03:28 PM
So my question is, What is Bitcoin's true purpose?
There is no objective truth to answer that question. It's subjective.

What is Bitcoin's purpose?
Whatever each individual wants it to be. Some of us are in it for ideological reasons, others technological, and still others financial profit.

Sounds about right in the end we are all here on a rationality of one sort or another
8714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptostock alternatives on: April 02, 2014, 09:02:04 PM
My advice will be to stay away from all these BTC-based equities and corporations. 90% of the time they turns out to be ponzi schemes. And I have myself lost around 25 BTC in the BTCT.co scam.

Well bad investments like Labcoin were voted in that and Activeminer
That said there were legitimate stocks but bitcoin is a volatile instrument
8715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoins Purpose? Or have we Forgotten.. on: April 01, 2014, 04:27:23 PM
To change the world and help others while at the same times helping ourselves

"Concerns over creating "Skynet" as the Bitcoin network rapidly approaches 50 Million Gh/s"

Use http://www.fodey.com/generators/newspaper/snippet.asp if you want to make your own.

Could be a good opportunity to get people's attention and educate them about Bitcoin's features.

Great resource.  How about this one:

I'm posting this again tomorrow.

haha!

That looks fun

8719  Economy / Economics / Re: Why don't we see US$ hyperinflation? on: April 01, 2014, 05:19:16 AM
It's happening as other countries try to reduce their dependance on the US dollar and switch to other currency baskets
Also why the Chinese do not want more American debt but want commodities instead
8720  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Say NO to GMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: April 01, 2014, 05:17:48 AM
[snip]

Totally agree  with you but the problem is that there is too many people on the earth so it is impossible to feed everyone with good organic food! So GMO is like a decision on how to feed 7,000,000,000 people

Actually GMO is used to make sure there is less food.  Good luck arguing that terminator plants which don't produce seeds are part of a humanitarian campaign to feed the planet.

I agree with that terminator seeds killing other crops so that the corporations and GMO can sell the farmers fertilizer and receive a cut of all their future revenues by forcing them to buy their seeds and nutrients making them dependent on them for their livelihood and at the same time killing their soil quality and bees to boot.

That is pretty hardcore evil right there
