Lakers looking good without Lebron James, leading by 10 against the Nuggets. Anthony Davis is having the best game since he comes back from injury.

I was only able to watch the 4th quarter but I thought they looked pretty bad. Some questionable calls helped them get the victory but I think their bench was the only bright spot in the game. With Jamal Murray out nursing an injury I think this win isn’t as great as it looks. Still, a W without LeBron is exactly what they needed and they got it.
8702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: May 04, 2021, 02:56:59 AM

I'ved also read that article wherein Lebron James said that he is not 100 percent healthy at the moment and will never be 100 percent like when he is younger, that's understandable as father time is catching up on him. Even though he is not totally healthy but with him back on the floor gives the Lakers some confidence and moral going into the playoff as that is what every team needs right now.
He tweeted today asking fellow twitter users for the most comfortable gaming chair. I think he is planing to sit out a few games now since he aggravated his injury playing against the Raptors. There is a good chance that AD sits out as well due to elbow injury. Which means the Nuggets should have an easy time to beat an injury stricken Lakers team.

That would be a disaster for the Lakers if Lebron will sit, Nuggets as one of the hottest teams now would easily dominate them and Jokic is just unstoppable now together with the role players that anytime read to contribute. The Lakers' chance to win here is if Lebron will be playing, it's okay if Davis will not play as they still have Drummond, maybe as a bettor, it's wise to just bet this game live so we would know if Lebron will play.
Its confirmed that LeBron James will miss Monday's game against the Denver Nuggets due to a sore right ankle.
Also his game against Clippers is still uncertain. So forget it this match will be not an easy sight.
Nuggets are in a great form while Lakers have been struggling without James and the struggle continues tonight.
The odds for Nuggets win are @ 1.55 and going down better to bet now because it many will follow and bet on them to win.

Oh not good news for Lakers fan, but I think it's a good decision though. Those past 2 games Lebron has been playing, it seems that he has push his body just coming back from an injury.

But hey, if San Antonio without 4 of their starters against the Sixers last night played very well and almost got a win in OT, why not Lakers against the Nuggets.  Grin

I think it looks like they’re saving him for games they think they can win to give him extra recovery time. Jokic and the Nuggets have been looking great lately and if I were making a guess I would say that has more to do with LeBron being out than his ankle sprain. It gives AD a chance to be the focus and get his game back into swing, so maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. Hope to see Bron back to near full health for the play-in. It looks like that’s where we’re headed.
8703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: May 04, 2021, 02:52:06 AM
^^ Logan Paul s not a boxer even though he is fighting Floyd Mayweather that is the main difference here, do not just say something like you claim even for fun, one is a professional fighter who retired as an undefeated one and can be considered as one of the best boxers in the history of the sport.
The legacy of Logan Paul is to create Youtue videos   Tongue.

Lol, Logan Paul is just pure Youtube sensation, that's where he makes his money.

Floyd is a pro, never been touch or beaten in his career. But I think he needs to train, he is all serious in his craft, he doesn't want someone, specially a non boxer to get that 0 from him.

Height and weight difference? Not a problem for Floyd, he knows what to do here, maybe toy with Logan Paul early, after all this is an exhibition fight. But that's the closest Logan Paul can go with Floyd. In any case, easy money for both of them.  Smiley

What about the age difference? Floyd is old as hell. At some point (maybe when he’s in hospice) even the average forum user here will be able to kick his ass. I’m with you that 10 years ago this fight would be a total joke (even if Logan stayed his age), but Floyd isn’t getting any younger. He’s got size, age, and probably training intensity stacked against him. At some point his skills won’t be enough to overcome everything he’s going up against.
8704  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Sidechains on: May 03, 2021, 07:45:15 PM
I don't think Bitcoin has its own sidechain except from its one and only blockchain because other than that you have different sources in which Bitcoin is transacted like Lightning Network for example is run as off-chain transactions that is why it is not recorded in the blockchain. If we are talking about hardfork coins comming from Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash has its own blockchain. Bitcoin in the first place doesn't really have any tokens unlike Ethereum so you wouldn't really expect them to have sidechains of their own.
You are confusing 3 different concepts with each other: Second layer, Side chains, Tokens
1. Second layer
Second layer is a different network that is built on top of the main network and relies completely on it. For example if mainnet fails the second layer will fail also.
Example: Lightning Network

2. Side chain
Similar to second layer, side chains are also a different network but they are usually only pegged to main network not built on top of it an they don't rely on main net for security, etc. For example if mainnet fails the side chain can still keep going.
This is also why 1 LN bitcoin is 1 bitcoin but 1 sidechain bitcoin doesn't have to be 1 bitcoin. For example 1 bitcoin turns into X RSK, or 1 bitcoin could turn into 1000 wrapped bitcoin on another chain.
Example: Rootstock, all the wrapped bitcoin tokens, Blockstream's Liquid,...

Another difference between 1 and 2 is the trust. In second layer the trust is minimal while it is not true about second layer specially in case of centralized ones. Sometimes they even involve other signers (eg. liquid) so you rely on those parties too.

3. Tokens
Tokens are inside the same blockchain instead of being in another network. For example tokens built in ethereum platform are all in ethereum network not in a different one.

Nice definitions.  I'm curious if you would consider a merge mined coin like Namecoin to be a side chain, or if you would just consider it a separate merged mining chain category?  I'm also curious about the reasons why merge mined coins seemed to never reach the popularity of side chains as described above and certainly not the valuation.
8705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: May 03, 2021, 06:50:53 PM
Lakers has been bugged by Injuries this year. AD and LeBron hasn't played each other for quite a long time since AD got injured first.
Drummond acquisition made them become more bigger. So, yeah anyone could beat them with speed. Especially when Schröder isn't playing. He plays a major role to the Lakers team.
Now, If the Lakers can't complete their roster fully healthy in the remainder of the season. I'm afraid they'll lose everything.

I'm starting to lose the confidence with them making to the playoffs.
People forget that Lebron is an insane basketball player when he can play at 100%. Cavs were 4th in the league on his last season and he almost took out Warriors on the first game if it wasn't for JR Smith mistake in the end. Sure it wasn't really just him, but 90%+ was all him, that is why I think it is clear that if Lebron comes back and plays with 100% plus you give him AD as well? That is going to be so much different.

I do not think that there is even a slight chance that they could miss the playoffs, they will make it to playoffs for sure and they are going to beat everyone again, he is just that good and he has AD with him as well, AD is also another player who managed to bring his old team into slight success because without him New Orleans was a tanking level bottom team. With this much injury, it was expected for them to lose games obviously.

They’ve got a good test tonight against the Denver Nuggets on ESPN. The entire rest of their schedule looks pretty tough actually. Unless they suddenly start playing a lot better they’re going to end up in the play-in tournament just to make the playoffs. LeBron’s recent quote about firing the creator of the play-in tournament should tell you how he feels about it.

I just went through this thread and gave additional merits to those users who I thought it was reasonable to assume were using the forum legitimately.  I also added a ton of users to my ignore list that I had previously given merit to and turned out to be bounty spamming to make sure I don't ever give them any more merit.  Thanks to those using this thread properly and to the bounty spammers abusing it, you will likely ruin this for everyone at some point as well as never receive any more merit from me.  I may make my ignore list public at some point as an added deterrent for this behavior.
8707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: May 02, 2021, 11:30:46 PM
And yeah, still no one can take his 0, not Logan Paul, what we are seeing in paper saying that Logan Paul has a chance is obviously hyping this fight. Mayweather can knock out Logan Paul even if he is the heavier of the two.

There is no "if" he is the heavier.  He'll probably have to be near death to get down to fight weight.  I wouldn't be surprised if he entered the ring outweighing him by as much as 20lbs.  I've watched a few of his podcast episodes lately and you can tell the guy is training seriously.  He's ripped.  I don't know if he'll be able to land a punch on Mayweather, but if he is able to land a few shots here and there it could get interesting.  I mostly want to see a KO by either side and a whole lot of outside the ring antics.  That Jake Paul fight was an event.  A trainwreck, but an event to witness.  I do think a Logan victory would be the most entertaining outcome though.
8708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: May 02, 2021, 10:06:44 PM
Big win by the Bucks. It's a battle between Giannis and Durant, but Giannis won this time.

Giannis made "49 points and 8 rebounds, while Durant had 42 points and 10 rebounds.
This was an entertaining game, I thought this looks like an ECF finals scenario.

Ya, that was a great battle down the stretch. I love to see it. Giannis keeps getting better and better at shooting and Durant looked to be back in pre-injury form. Middleton came up big down the stretch too. I think Harden probably would’ve made the difference in this game, but we’ll see come playoff time.

Blake Griffin had a massive putback slam that really made you wonder what was going on with him in Detroit.
8709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin season ending in may ? on: May 02, 2021, 07:13:27 PM
Altcoin season is the result of envious people getting into crypto and wanting to strike it rich.  It will continue so long as new money keeps flowing into the cryptocurrency ecosystem.  With DOGE coin slowly bringing the masses from Robinhood into DEXes and Wall Street funds snapping up BTC for their future offerings, I think that will be a while yet.  Why even fight try to fight the pattern?  By this point it's fairly obvious that Bitcoin's stock to flow ratio controls the entire cryptocurrency market and we have a few months left before this market begins it's next 85% drop.  That is if we see another jump above $100K before December and hold true to the fractal pattern.  Don't try to outsmart it, just go with the flow.
8710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 02, 2021, 07:02:32 PM
Brooklyn Nets vs Milwaukee Bucks starting in a half hour.  Who you got?  Looking like the Bucks are the favorites with a 2.5 point spread.  Neither team is healthy so I could see this one going either way but the Nets should have Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving playing and I think that may be enough to get the win.  The game is televised on ABC if anyone would care to watch.
8711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Feel Pressed Something while Gambling on: May 02, 2021, 06:58:20 PM
I don't see the relationship you say. I don't think it has to do with the stress of your mother telling you off for gambling.

The man just felt like taking a shit, he didn't give a shit, never better said, and took the shit right there.

I don't know how he could btw, I couldn't take a shit right there, I guess precisely because he didn't give a shit.

Agreed.  Ya, I've seen similar videos of women doing this while shopping...  Sometimes when you gotta go you gotta go.  In places like San Francisco this might not even seem so out of the ordinary as it's an image that you see daily in some neighborhoods...  Still, unless it was some sort of instant emergency and you didn't have a change of clothes nearby, I couldn't really understand the mindset of someone who would do something like this.  Then again, I've never been in the position of having to choose between shitting my pants or on the floor, luckily.
8712  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tax-free passive income scheme: how risky? on: May 01, 2021, 08:42:50 PM
The only tax free income I’m aware of is certain Municipal Bonds. I don’t think any crypto tax evasion is “legal” and regardless of how smart you think the scheme is, the more you move crypto around the more eyes you’ll be inviting into your finances. It’s just not worth the risk. If you want tax free income just invest in legal tax free investments. A Roth IRA is also a good option if you have a long investment time frame (and are American).
8713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - June 6 on: May 01, 2021, 08:31:59 PM
Win or lose I’m impressed with Logan Paul and his brother. They’re doing their thing and proving people wrong left and right. I’m actually becoming a fan and I hated these kids before they entered the boxing realm. I have lots of respect for them and wish them the best. I hope more kids from this younger generation grow some balls and stop trying to cancel everyone all the time. It only results in fake people getting elevated.

Please stop asking me to escrow frauds and account sales. I provide escrow to protect users, not get money. Helping you scam or break the law is absolutely the opposite of why I do this. Please stop asking. Go look at whoever is escrowing ICOs for anonymous users and ask them.
8715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: May 01, 2021, 05:37:10 AM
It looks like I spoke too soon on the Lakers game. They looked terrible down the stretch. They were outscored 32 to 18 in the fourth quarter and seemed to run out of gas at the end. LeBron stepped it up at the end of the game to get some points on the board but the entire team seemed like they lost interest in the 4th. Hopefully a few more games together will get them back on the same page late in games.
8716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: May 01, 2021, 04:39:46 AM
Anyone seen the massive comeback by the Boston Celtics?

They are down 30 points but they slowly eat out that big lead force an OT and beat the San Antonio Spurs by 3 points.

Lebron James is back, but of course with limited minutes, so far he scored 1 point in 7 minutes. But they are down 13 points in the first quarter. Let's see if he will still play in the 2nd quarter, this might be a good morale booster for the team. Still early, lots of things can happen in the game.

Down the stretch it’s looking good for the Lakers but LeBron definitely isn’t back to his old self yet. He isn’t being utilized as much as normal. AD is looking pretty good though. His best game since coming back in my opinion. They’re up 3 as I write this and with 5 minutes left they look like they’re gonna squeeze out a win. I’m glad LeBron is back on the court. Gotta enjoy every game we get from him at this point.
8717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be a Responsible Gambler on: April 30, 2021, 06:46:53 PM
There isn’t really such a thing as responsible gambling. It’s a bit of an oxymoron. It’s ok to be irresponsible sometimes and throw money away on entertainment but thinking it’s in any way some sort of responsible activity is something I can’t get on board with. Again, not necessarily a bad thing to gamble, but responsible isn’t an adjective I’d use to describe it.
8718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: April 30, 2021, 04:01:02 AM
I didn’t even know people bet on the draft. That’s pretty cool. These types of bets would definitely make the draft more fun to sit through. I can’t say I know enough about the athletes to throw my hat in the ring, but maybe I’ll keep my eye out for a similar event when the NBA draft rolls around.
8719  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vaccinated people are walking biological time bombs and a THREAT to society on: April 30, 2021, 01:29:33 AM
I wanted to say that I enjoyed the title of this thread.

Also, it has some merit to an extent in my opinion.  I strongly believe that the human race is ultimately better off naturally fighting off threats and that certain advances in our medical capabilities may have a negative long term effect on the strength of the human race to fight off potential threats in the future.  We seem to be becoming reliant on our scientific advancements to save us from threats at an increasing rate as a way to avoid being accountable for our own poor decisions and behavior.
8720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: April 29, 2021, 06:40:48 PM
For now, we have four teams that guaranteed qualifying for the playoffs (1/8-finals). These are Jazz, Suns, Nets and 76ers. They have been great for a very long lime. And I can't wait to see the playoff games as there is a little time left for the regular season to end.

Great news for the Suns. It’s been over 10 years since they’ve seen the postseason. I’m happy for Devin Booker who was looking like he may never see a playoff game. Adding CP3 to the lineup has made such a huge difference. What a great move by Suns management. Some might have been expecting a buyout, but CP3 proved worth the investment.
