8741  Economy / Services / Re: FREE BTC! BTC Faucet Timer/Rotator! on: June 13, 2013, 09:46:38 PM
I agree with the point you brought up yourself: A single 10 minute faucet alongside all the 30 minutes ones would feel strange. I'd wait until there are some more faucets with a 10 minute cooldown.

Thank you for taking the time to give input on this. I really appreciate it! Smiley.

Thanks! I hope you find the site helpful, Smiley.

8744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin Moderated on: June 13, 2013, 04:37:34 PM
Agreed, moderated thread is good idea.

Next good idea:  clean the devcoin wiki of all the pumping falsehoods added by FinShaggy.

While I understand where you're coming from, I seriously think it would be better to leave the decision of this argument up to Unthinkingbit. The back-and-forth banter going on here, I'm sure, is not helping anything. If anything, it's making things look worse to outsiders that may otherwise be interested in getting involved with DVC.
8745  Other / Off-topic / Re: Xbox One on: June 13, 2013, 04:34:44 PM
I see. Perhaps they will make changes if there are enough people that feel that way.

The main showstopper for me is just that it's not backwards compatible. I just bought all my 360 stuff within the last 6 months.

BC is a big issue too but if you already have a 360... I see it as being like PSX and PS2. I had both but usually used the PSX for PSX games, :p.

I'm assuming 796 is referring to 796's service offered at 796.com ... but you know what they say about those that assume Smiley

That they put a u in between assme?
8747  Other / Off-topic / Re: Xbox One on: June 13, 2013, 04:21:39 PM
I actually bought the 360 for the Kinect, so I always play with a camera connected already...  Grin

The difference is the 360 doesn't imply that the camera is always active. You can tell by whether or not the red light is on. And it also doesn't require you to be online to play single-player games. This is where the privacy concerns come from.

It does require you to be online the first time you play a game though (and regularly thereafter).

Also, I remember seeing a clarification that the One will act the same way with single player games.

Most of the games I play on my PC these days also require me to be online - even for single player (via Steam, Origin, or whatever). Not sure what the difference is?

You're misunderstanding my post. I was saying the 360 doesn't have those problems. The One does. This is why I will refuse to purchase the One.

The PC, while some games require you to be online, do not require that you keep a web camera and microphone hooked up to your system at all times. There is a massive difference.

I've updated the site. You can now earn money with your notes. You also require an account.

How is money earned by sharing notes?

And regarding the faucet, there's no confirmation/denial when an address is sent. Can you please confirm if it's working, and if so what the minimum payout amount and cooldown is? Assuming everything is good and it'd fit in, I can feature it on the ]BTC Faucet Rotator/Timer.

Ads are displayed on the right of the notes.

I admit the confirmation isn't very clear. But it is there. it says "Bitcoins requested for <ADRESS>!"
I've made it more clear with a green border.

I will probably remove the faucet because I'm paying that manually.

Thanks for the response! I look forward to seeing how all of this comes out, Smiley.

Well in my opinion, as a member of the community i understand what finshaggy is trying to do, at least he promotes devcoin on bitcointalk, and he is active in the forums, that is only a benefit to the community.

I am repeating what many people say, we should start some websites that allow content/goods to be bought/sold with devcoin, i have a few ideas, when i have time i will share them here or i will pm weisoq Smiley

I am currently working on that, I just have to get some goods.
As well as a DVC "Pay Per Appearance" video game service. (how it works) Play with me on Xbox live, I will be recording my games, so I will pay you for your cameo.

I'd take you up on this if I had a 360, :p. Sounds like an awesome idea!
8751  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello =) on: June 13, 2013, 04:09:18 PM
Good day.

For a long wile i been looking for a place to buy bit coins.
I always wanted to buy products with bit coins but didn't understand how it works.

I am still kinda in the dark with how i actually trade with someone.
and How i can do it real save.

I wanted to start by buying 1 bit coin and do it with a straight bank transfer.
But i saw something about escrow didn't fully understand how i can do it save with him.

But hello all =)

With escrow both people send their side of the deal to the escrow person. This should be a trusted 3rd party. Once he receives both ends (or at least confirms an item was sent/rec'd in the case of physical items), he releases both people's side of the deal.

8754  Economy / Services / [ANN] Writing, Editing and Proofreading Services! on: June 13, 2013, 03:47:54 PM
Hey all! I've been around a little while and decided I would offer up my writing services here. I'm actually already a paid writer, but I'm looking for some jobs to fill in the down-time and give me something to do!

I can write about most topics, and in most formats (articles, essays, guides, etc.). If I can't handle a subject that's thrown at me, I'll let you know!

The things I write elsewhere range from 200 word articles (generally closer to the 1,000 to 1,500 word range) to 600+ page guide books. I've also written on a wide variety of topics, and I spend most of my free time learning new stuff (the more you learn, the more you realize how little you know)!

I am a native English speaker and writer that is often tasked with helping others proofread their work and offer re-write help to better clarify points or otherwise fix errors across documents. As a result, I can also do critiques or proofreading!

If anyone is interested in my services, please feel free to toss me a PM and we'll go from there. I do not have a set price in mind at this time; it will depend on the job, what all it entails, etc. Just throw me an offer and I will try to negotiate!

Payment types accepted: BTC, LTC, FTC, WDC, MNC, DGC, PXC, Paypal and Inputs.io! Now also accepting BTC securities (bonds, funds, stocks)!

Thanks, guys!

8756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin Moderated on: June 13, 2013, 03:28:02 PM
Well I'm not going to argue with you.

I think you are trying to swim upstream though. I think when you represent a community,  it is always better to go with the majority opinion. though.

glendall: those are wise words.  Words I hope FinShaggy takes to heart very soon.

Because I will continue to argue, until the false claims by FinShaggy are removed from the devcoin wiki.

If you want to see an official opinion, send a pm to Unthinkingbit. I think he has the final word in things like this, so it may go further.
8757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Litecoin pass 10$ by the end of June? on: June 13, 2013, 03:24:34 PM
but silver does follow gold price in the "great contours" - when gold dips 20% silver will also do a dive. PM markets are very complex.

Are you sure about that? I don't follow the markets but I was under the impression that they were all mutually exclusive: gold, silver, diamond, platinum, etc. Going to have to look into this for personal knowledge now, lol.

I've followed gold and silver prices for the last 10 years, and I sold silver for 2 of those years. While the price of one may make a small change independent of the other, the large swings are almost always experienced by both.

Thanks for the clarification!

Would that also mean that as an investor, it isn't really relevant which one you go with? Based on what you're saying it seems like gold is the higher investment and silver would be for smaller investors?
8758  Economy / Services / Re: FREE BTC! BTC Faucet Timer/Rotator! on: June 13, 2013, 03:20:31 PM
Update: I need opinions guys. There's a faucet I was contacted about that has a 10m cooldown but a payout rate of about 1/5 of the 30m ones. Would you like it to be added to the rotator?

I haven't done it yet because I felt it would be a little intrusive to have a large number of 30m timers together but a single 10m one on its own. But I'll leave that up to you guys!
8759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin Moderated on: June 13, 2013, 03:19:14 PM
Well, we can at least all agree (I presume?) that it is misleading to state that Devcoin had a high of $10. If it did happen, and I don't think it did, it was a very brief aberration and in no way really indicative of the actual, respectable worth of Devcoin.

I'm not saying you are acting dishonestly or anything like that. Let's just change the statement to something a bit more reasonable for the benefit of everyone, and accuracy, and move on.  Sound reasonable?

Yeah, this sounds a lot like when FTC first got added to BTC-e and somehow the first one was traded at a 1:1 ratio for BTC. So for many hours, the entire chart was screwed up because it was using 1 BTC as the high value, when its real value was significantly smaller.
8760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Litecoin pass 10$ by the end of June? on: June 13, 2013, 03:12:18 PM
with the recent 51% attack on FTC, i think ppl are concerned that the LTC will have the same thing happen.

Guess time will tell

We've known that 51% attacks are possible pretty much forever as far as I know. Just because one coin managed to be 51% attacked doesn't impact anything. It would take a lot more to take down LTC.
