8741  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin hit $100,000 before the end of the year? on: September 02, 2021, 08:35:11 PM
Bitcoin will hit $100K this year. It will actually hit above $115K. Failure to do so would mean the end of the stock to flow model and that’s what Wall Street is betting will give them a x10 return over the next 4 years, so they will be defending this model with a great deal of cash. I wouldn’t bet against it.
8742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin move to Proof of Stake? on: September 02, 2021, 08:32:11 PM
Will Bitcoin move to proof of Stake? Does anyone know? What are the developers opinions on this matter?

No, Bitcoin will not move to Proof of Stake ever. I am as sure of this as I am that the earth is not flat. The developers all believe this is a bad idea for reasons that are already littering this thread. Mostly, because Proof of Work is just plain better and more fair.
8743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 02, 2021, 06:20:38 PM
There are rumors that LaMarcus Aldridge is going to return to the NBA next season. It seems that he is healthy at the moment, considering that he already passed all necessary tests. By the way, the Nets are interested in Aldridge, and they probably will sign a contract with him again.

The Nets just signed Paul Millsap. That makes them chasing Aldridge a little less likely. I didn’t really expect the Nets to land Millsap but those are the kinds of free agent moves that are possible when you’re heavily favorites to win it all next year. The Lakers I think have the best big three, but the Nets have some serious depth that will come in handy come playoff time.

Above $50K and for some reason Bitcoin still feels cheap...  Coinbase is showing declining reserves...  Twitter testing Bitcoin integration via Lightning.  ETFs based on futures ready to get approved any day now.  NFTs minting crypto millionaires by the thousands.  DeFi in full recovery mode.  You'd have to be absolutely insane to short this market, and even more insane to do so with leverage.  Let's go!
8745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase Sponsors New MrBeast YouTube Video! on: September 02, 2021, 08:39:06 AM
Some eagle-eyed YouTube fans might have noticed that another YouTuber famous for sneaking into events happened to find his way into this video.  Airrack basically gets into every event and is another great channel to watch if you need to kill some time and get some good quality content.  He was also promoting Bitcoin in his latest video, which I made another thread about here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5357767.0

One of my favorite Bitcoin related quotes on the subject of Democracy is this...

Democracy: The original 51% attack.

The problem with democracy is that as a whole human beings aren't too bright when making decisions that effect everyone.  I think Agent K said it best in Men In Black.

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it."
- Agent K
8747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / YouTuber Airrack gives away $5,000 in Bitcoin in latest video! on: September 01, 2021, 09:19:09 PM
YouTuber Airrack gives away $5,000 worth of Bitcoin in his latest video.  The video was sponsored by Lolli, which is a plugin for your browser that rewards you with Bitcoin when you spend funds at certain online retailers.  Participants in the video have to get past a series of challenges like walking on Legos before eventually having to get around a live Alligator in order to claim their prize of $5,000 worth of Bitcoin.  Smiley  "That's pretty much it.  I'm leaving."

I Opened a Free Store, But There's Alligators

Who is Airrack?  For starters, you might recognize him as a participant in the most recent MrBeast video.
8748  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I saw my first counterfeit Covid vaccination card yesterday… on: September 01, 2021, 08:38:17 PM
And this woman is 24 years old. Hardly at risk. Why should she take the vaccine when Covid poses almost zero threat to her?

The short answer? Fear. A certain political set of our society has become such cowards they don’t even consider any consequences down the line on society for their actions. They just don’t want to feel fear today and want the government to tell them it will be ok.

Personally, I don’t think America should even be called the land of the free and home of the brave anymore. It should be the land of the fearful and home of the cancelled.
8749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase Sponsors New MrBeast YouTube Video! on: September 01, 2021, 08:39:38 AM
Mrbeast has 67M subscribers! Who the hell is this guy? This would have been great if the reality TV show will be on the mainstream channel. Hope they do another on TV.

Coinbase chose to sponsor a YouTuber than a TV show simply because a huge majority of the younger demographic consumes media through the internet, not on television. The last thing they want is to advertise to boomers who think Bitcoin is a scam or is worth nothing lol.

Not just that, but MrBeast fans are extremely loyal and if they can get him $10 by signing up for something then they will. Once they sign up, they do the freebies and get a couple bucks, and then they start buying Bitcoin. Smiley

Nice to see Coinbase putting their money towards something cool. I hope they also sponsor a video for his food bank.

Only way this gets done is if Portland wants to scrap and rebuild
I agree with this.

Dame is still within his prime years so letting him go after what they've already built and how far they've come would all go to waste. It will take years again before they become a playoff contender if the trade pushes through.

Dame is their prime man, he is the Lebron James of the team,  there's no way he will be traded to anyone that is not better than him. I guess the point why we are talking about Blazers here is for them to acquire new players that could add their strength to be a better team especially in the playoffs where they struggled a lot. I can't even believe they lose against the Murray-less Nuggets last playoffs.

They are interested in Dame for Ben Simmons, I think that's hilarious, who would trade their best player on a player that will only be thrown by his team because of his bad playoffs performance.

This rumor is non sense IMO> https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/news/ben-simmons-trade-rumors-damian-lillard/18zmo7tc6y3141rrejfsu82b5y

Definitely nonsense. Portland is not letting Dame go until Dame tells them he wants to go. That hasn’t happened yet. The Simmons situation is sad. He turned on his city and is now going to be hated by them. This is getting to be too common, but it is what it is. With him saying he’s not reporting to training camp, he’ll be on another team soon.

0.1 or 0.01?

My fault. Typo fixed. It is 0.01 BTC + forks. Thank you for letting me know. That is why I included the QR code on the front you can scan to get the Bitpic’s address and balance.  Lips sealed
8752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 31, 2021, 10:19:44 PM
I wouldn’t be shocked to see a quick drop down to $43K sometime in the next 30 days. I feel like that will likely be the last dip before liftoff. First we need to see another round of liquidations. Prepare yourselves for a moment of silence in memory of those who are leveraged trading.
8753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Coinbase Sponsors New MrBeast YouTube Video! (Update: Part 2) on: August 31, 2021, 09:05:48 PM
Watch it here now: https://youtu.be/zxYjTTXc-J8

Edit: Part 2 is now live: https://youtu.be/uocETPj4Jx4

That should also serve as some motivation for our soon to be launched Bitcointalk YouTube channel as what sponsors are achievable in the space! Go Coinbase! Great to see my favorite things coming together. This will no doubt spur a little adoption boost for the day.
8754  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Show of hands for 1 oz. or 1.5 oz. gold dodgeball coins on: August 31, 2021, 07:48:15 PM
I saw my coins mentioned. It’s worth noting that my 1oz gold binary rounds are the same diameter as my 2oz coins shown above. This is because I had them made with 1/2 the thickness so it would remain 39mm with 1/2 the weight. If you are going down to 1oz and still want the 39mm diameter, it’s possible. Ask your mint about it.
8755  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] Goxxed for the last time - Silver (Serial #008) on: August 31, 2021, 06:50:24 PM
With a Gox refund seemingly on the timeline for next year, I wonder if bigtimespaghetti will be making another coin to celebrate the occasion.  It might be funny to include a coin set like this in a frame along with some of the lawsuit paperwork.  I don't recall if I threw mine away or if it's still sitting in a giant envelope...  I guess it's time to go find that and set it aside.
8756  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Rare Bitpic Prototype Made By OgNasty (Loaded with 0.01 btc) on: August 31, 2021, 06:45:55 PM
Great to see these bad boys still floating around.  I guess I should've loaded them with 1 BTC instead of 0.01 BTC eh?  Good luck with your sale!  The one I kept for myself is one of my favorite display pieces involving crypto.  Although if the price of BTC keeps going up I'm not sure how much longer it'll remain a display piece!  Wink
8757  Economy / Collectibles / Re: ISO: CASASCIUS GOLD COINS. on: August 31, 2021, 06:42:09 PM
ISO casascius gold coins that Charlie lee sold a while ago... PM me if you have any.. thanks.

I've got one I'd sell for the right price.  A lot of people have said they're interested in these coins over the years and then send a message mentioning gold's spot price as a basis of valuation.  It would help potential sellers to know what sort of offer you had in mind.  If the word spot is involved, I'm not interested.  Otherwise, feel free to reach out and PM me an offer and I'll consider it.
8758  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I saw my first counterfeit Covid vaccination card yesterday… on: August 31, 2021, 06:34:11 PM
if you can actually take the time to step away from the conspiracy loyalist social groups rhetoric and actually try to do some independent research. you not only learn what is real. but you also get a chance to step away from being cast as an idiot because you are willing to dis-associate yourself from idiots.

What is real, is that there is next to a 0% chance that anything bad will happen to me at all as a result of not getting vaccinated.  I agree about dis-associating myself from idiots, so this will be my last response to you ever, as you are now on the list of dis-associated bitcoinlarpers desperate for attention by acting out and failing to conduct yourself as a grown up.  There is 0 reason to attack me personally for this factual post about something I saw in passing from someone I don't know.

Back to the subject...  Covid vaccination cards are out there and being given to people who have not been vaccinated for a small fee.  It doesn't matter how scared you are and there's nothing you can do to stop it.

Of course it's a crime.  Doctors doing this sort of thing most definitely should have their credentials stripped.
8759  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see? on: August 31, 2021, 06:20:57 PM
Alsp, here's the show's Twitter account: @BtcTalkShow

Followed (@NastyMining) so I can stay more up to date with what's going on and make sure I don't miss that first episode.  Good luck!  I'm looking forward to seeing how this comes out and maybe becoming a subscriber of the YouTube channel to enjoy the content provided for hopefully years to come.  Smiley

If everyone would go ahead and wait a few minutes after the batch three release before they place their orders so that I can make sure to get my orders in, I’d appreciate it a great deal. Thanks!

From the email it did sound like they’ll have enough stock for a few days of orders… We’ll see.

Yes, let us know once you ordered:)

OK, you're good to go ahead and place an order now.  Thanks for waiting.  I really appreciate your cooperation.  Ordering process was smooth and easy.  I'll be waiting to receive my unit and give one of these little guys a job helping to heat my house this winter.  Good luck to everyone else snatching these things up this morning.  Smiley
