So we should state our grievance once and return to docility.

Alright then, at least we understand each other.

inverse square law people

EMP has never been used because it does not work reliably, the power density drops off too quickly as a function of distance.

fud...or wishful thinking, depending on your outlook
8763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cannot be filled with Tungsten on: September 19, 2012, 04:05:13 AM
I was wondering why Tungsten and not Lead (which has a higher atomic number than Gold):
Quote from: Wikipedia
Also remarkable is its high density of 19.3 times that of water, comparable to that of uranium and gold, and much higher (about 1.7 times) than that of lead.

EMP danger is overblown anyway

I recommend reading the bitcoin whitepaper http://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf don't worry if you don't understand the math straight away.

You got some reading to do.
8767  Bitcoin / Press / Re: Bitcoin Could Be An NWO's Conspiracy on: September 19, 2012, 03:34:52 AM
This is really too bad.

The Daily Bell is often quite good, a highly respected libertarian blog.

If you do not comprehend or understand an XOR cipher function, Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm and some basics of Classless Inter-Domain Routing then it may be best to sit down, shut-up, listen to some people who do understand, ask what questions you can formulate based on your limited understanding, do some study and then try to form an opinion based on facts instead of facile intelligence where one thinks they have a talent for monetary science, economics and finance but do not see the need to undertake the hard labor of learning how such arguments are constructed when applied to the Bitcoin Protocol. After all, do you want to be the guy that asks, “How big is yellow?” or worse ignorantly pronounce the statement, “Yellow is really big.”

Why would anyone continue respecting someone who loudly proclaims yellow is really big?

As more people come to understand that yellow is a color not a thing then they are better able to discern the logic and arguments. Then those who proclaim yellow is really big will not stay highly respected because their arguments are poor. Remember, ideas can only be overcome by other ideas.

Oh, I completely agree Trace.  I still find these divisions regrettable.

Bad news: I just checked one of my Bitcoins. I opened it up, and inside I actually found a LiteCoin!!!  This is a serious problem. I'm worried if I check my other Bitcoins the same thing will happen :/  Should I tell Gavin?

shit

they must have salted it with some folded proteins to make up the difficulty

uhhh, all that "annoying" noise making you are complaining about is what we call "peaceable assembly", try re reading the constitution please.

Further, there is a great deal of occupy type energy in the bitcoin community, some posters above are embarrassing themselves.

8776  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Increasing Mining on: September 18, 2012, 04:13:16 AM
well, there is always newegg.com

but seriously, most people are dumping GPUs for ASICs now so there are tons of cards cheap in the marketplace forum

I used to think shit like this, but I came to understand that, sadly, without the threat of starvation most people will not do a god dammed thing.
8778  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Increasing Mining on: September 18, 2012, 03:53:35 AM
Wow, OK...

The expansion slots on your motherboard, those deals where you can plug in a sound card, or network card or whatever...back in the day they used to be PCI (actually before that was the ISA bus but I digress) PCIe stands for "Peripheral Component Interconnect Express" and actually what you are checking for are more specifically PCIe x16 slots that will support video cards.

They look like this

but the plastic part doesn't have to be black, it can be any color.

While you have the cover off also measure how much room you have between the slots in the back of the case where the cards screw in and your drive bays, these cards are almost a foot long.  Also, be careful in there.  Shut the computer off and unplug it first and don't touch shit you don't have to.

I just bought a bunch of 7950s to mine.  As soon as the difficulty goes high enough they will be switched from BTC to LTC.  I'm not worried.

you and 10,000 other motherfuckers, what do you think is going to happen to litecoin difficulty?   Roll Eyes
