8761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much BCC can I get ? on: August 01, 2017, 06:36:46 AM
Let's say I have 0.01 BTC hold in my Elcetrum offline wallet

How much BCC can i get for free after the fork ?
I've seen a video where a guy said that electrum will not allow to get free bcc. I guess it is just against the fork or that sort of thing.
Anyway, I guess one gets the equal sum in bcc regardless to usd price, so for 0.01 btc one will get 0.01 bcc. At least, this is how is was when we had eth hard fork. For 10 eth on recieved 10 etc. It can be inferred from the things written here: https://poloniex.com/press-releases/2016.07.26-responses-to-common-etc-questions/.
8762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are you expecting after 1st-Aug? on: August 01, 2017, 06:26:29 AM
Exactly today is the an important day for BTC users, observing the market and the bitcoins price now i expect that the bitcoins price will going to boost high after august 1.
We can observe the market but it will only make us nervous for we can't buy or sell anything till the thing is done, right? even if we could, I think these would have been a risk of having our btc lost today, so I wouldn't do that. I agree the price will go up. At least today. After it is successfully implemented, I believe lots of people will do what they always do  - sell high. This will result in the drop of price for a week, I guess, and then bitcoin will recover.
8763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Okcoin to release BCC mining pool on: August 01, 2017, 06:15:48 AM
Should the Bitcoin cash symbol and logo look the same as bitcoin symbol and logo? This is so misleading and so wrong. I wish all the bitcoin cash supporters good luck, but i`m pretty sure that BCH will fail and soon it will become worthless. Perhaps BCH mining would be profitable for a while.

There can be some excitement around BitcoinCash especially after all the Bitcoin holders would receive their free share of the said coin. Well, nobody would be refusing free money, right? This time there is nothing else to do but just to wait.

The ticker BCC should not be used anymore as we all know that BCC is already reserved for BitconnectCoin (BCC) so that other exchanges are calling BitcoinCash as BCH.

We should allow BCH to takes its right place in the cryptocurrency market and I am sure that if the team behind this new coin can be doing the right things then we can expect it to be still alive years from now but there is no doubt that it can never reach the level of success enjoyed by BTC.
In the ANN thread of bcc I got an answer from on of the members that BCH is an "altcoin spinoff" and it "will never have anything to do with bitcoin (BTC)". Do you agree with this? Because if yes then I don't understand why would btc holders get free bcc. Is it just becauce those who release the coin decided that it should be this way?
This sounds like a story with eth and etc where eth holders after the fork got free etc. I thought it was so due to a hard fork. This time we are more likely to deal with a soft fork and so natural split of btc is not likely to happen. Why would btc holders get bcc then?
Edit: I've watched a video on it and the guy there said that basically bcc was supposed to be a back up plan but too many people got interested, so it's like a forced hard fork from now on.
8764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 01, 2017, 06:02:49 AM

What is bcc then? Is it potential currency is case of the hard fork? Then how does it have its price while being no premined and no ico thing? Or will bcc exist in any case and it will still somehow be a soft fork? Is bcc going to take btc's place and all the money will be transferred there? Or is it just in hard fork case?

BCH is a altcoin spinoff happening on aug 1st. It will never have anything to do with bitcoin (BTC). At this point I expect the BCH HF to occur and it isn't a bluff. I also expect the price of BCH to crash and remain just another altcoin with a small community of supporters
Thank you for clearing that up for me, because when I read the first message in this thread it sounded as if bcc has strict connection with bitcoin. Other people where even writing that perhaps the have the price connected and so if one is a few hundreds up then the other is down in the same sum.
Bitcoin Cash trading now live at yobit, the market is jumping and falling right now in the range of 0.6 btc to 0.1 btc! volume is at 54BTC at the moment!
How can it be live at yobit if segwit is not implemented yet and I guess miners haven't started mining it yet?
8765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with altcoins on: August 01, 2017, 05:51:01 AM
I'm oldschool. I like the experience that goes with gambling and this means I usually gamble in live casinos.

When I gamble with crypte, it's 99% of the times bitcoin.
As I think there aren't many people out here who mainly gamble in good old casinos, could you tell us about the difference in experience? Do you spend more time when it's real? Does it take more money when you gamble seeing real people around you? Why do you prefer casinos? And where do you gamble? Are these lega; casinos or just some undercover ones?
8766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Gambling with altcoins on: July 31, 2017, 03:19:05 PM
I see many coins around. Even a year ago there were some casinos accepting litecoin and dogecoin. As bitcoin is now really expensive and slow plus some people are afraid of tomorrow's segwit thing, I thought it would be interesting enough to create a poll and see how many people still gamble with bitcoin and are there many fans of other coins. Nowadays the range is really wide, so we have what to choose from What do you think?
8767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: July 31, 2017, 03:06:16 PM
What about bcc value?

I mean if for exemple btc is 2700 dollars the 1st of august , BCC can't be 300dollars or btc should decrease at 2400?

Is this the right way of looking at BCC?

i don't think so, they have different market, the bcc market is another market, like you have different market, on different altcoin, bcc can have $300 of value while bitcoin remain at $2700, actually i think bitcoin will increase because people are buying more now to redeem the bitcoin cash, and bitcoin cash will decrease because these same people will dump their free bitcoin cash
I think you are right on this matter. I got a question though. Perhaps I just didn't get it well at first place but segwit is supposed to result in a soft fork, right? And basically there should be just one currency, because if we have two 'bitcoins' then it is actually a hard fork already.
8768  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Level by August 1 on: July 31, 2017, 02:52:37 PM
Cast your vote people and share with us what you think. We are a community and this way we would know what the majority is thinking.

I always think positively about bitcoin, it seems that on the 1st -7th there will be a price drop but not much after a week of that bitcoin price will rise again over 2900 $
That's according to my prediction, all because there is hard fork effect only

Why do you think the price will drop? Because miners will probably stop for some time and will need to be upgraded? Or are you saying this based on experience of litecoin that went up before segwit and down after it? Maybe people will try selling what they bought a few days ago but I think the profit is too small here, so they will probably not do that. I think bitcoin will just go hugely up.
8769  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Value Going Up? on: July 31, 2017, 02:41:10 PM
Bitcoin holders will determine whether the price will rise or not soon as prices are determined by supply and demand. I think those investors have kept their Bitcoin till now ( I mean August 1 event) will continue to hold their Bitcoins. Those who had panicked and had sold their Bitcoins will buy again. With this high demand and low supply, the price increase is inevitable.
Moreover, some have even invested recently. Rothschilds did on the sum of $130k or something like that.
I think people calmed down because bip was successfully activated and now they believe btc will succeed and the price will go to the moon right after tomorrow (just look at prediction threads, that's what most vote for). Thus, people buy even more until they can before the price goes crazy.
8770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: July 31, 2017, 02:31:15 PM
If bitcoin is acceptable and inaugurated by all countries it may happen so bitcoin can be advertised on every television, it can have bitcoin effect can be known by many layers of society even bitcoin users will be more increase from previous years.

For bitcoin to be accepted and known by all people of the world, advertisements should be made on regular basis on TV and social media. Only this way it will be possible that people all around the world will come to know about the bitcoins and its future value and usage.
Ι live in a country where only 5% at best have heard about bitcoin. I don't watch TV but my mother used to watch it regularly and she said that every now and then there are some small news related to bitcoin here. We also have the most famous local bank where almost everyone keeps their money. On this bank's website they write how mush btc costs along with usd and euro. I think advertising bitcoin on TV will not help much if there won't be the hell lot of ads on it.
8771  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: July 30, 2017, 10:04:55 AM
I just always wonder if those billionaires still invest in btc. Do they even know btc exist?

Bill gates already did it. We all know that he was so succesful and says the quote "Bitcoin is unstoppable". In his quote we can see that because of bitcoin he reach his current state right now. And it is surely possible if there are hardwork and patience.
What I heard is that Rothschild Investment Corporation decided to give bitcoin a chance and said goodbye to their previous currency which was good old dollar. Six days ago they bought bitcoins worth $230k, so I guess this is quite a big investment. Moreover, Rothschilds are among the most rich families in the world. So, I think the answer to the question op asked is a definite yes.
8772  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC Fork & How it will change Bitcoin? on: July 30, 2017, 09:38:18 AM
So all this being said, all the predictions lie fairly unanimously- slight disruption but ultimate strengthening of BTC. What is the anticipation for affect upon ETH, if any?

I'd assume minimal impact to Ethereum.

I wonder though, if we do have a hard fork, if the value of post hard fork BTC + BCC will equal the pre hard fork value of BTC.
I don't think the price will remain equal, actually. Such a stressful event will cause many people do panic selling. They will probably try to invest their btc into some alts not to lose everything. Let's just hope no hard fork is awaiting us, for it will inevitably make lots of people lose their money and that is not good for the market. Especially if the king itself causes the losses. I believe it may even destroy the whole cryptocurrency market or at least destabilize it hugely.
8773  Economy / Economics / Re: Money above all things, Yes or no ? on: July 30, 2017, 08:50:36 AM
I can see that people nowadays are busy searching on money and everything depends on money. People nowadays never go to church just because they would rather earn money rather than praise God. Others do not pay respect to elders  because they earn money for them or richer than them. Well for you, is money above all things ?

Exactly right say. Nowadays Money is above from all thing. Everything depends on money. If you have no money people do not respect you. If you have much money so you will be the King. Everybody will respect you.
I disagree with this point. First, some people may respect you for other qualities than money. For instance, for you being smart or raising good kids. Secondly, if you have a lot of money that doesn't mean everyone respects you. Some people may even despise you, because you probably got your money in some evil unfair way. Finally, the one thing  money surely doesn't give you is happiness. And that is quite a problem, because poor people may be unhappy and at least have reasons for that, whereas when people who can afford everything realize they can't buy happiness, it is likely to end up with a serious depression or even a suicide.
8774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC and BCC vs. ETH and ETC on: July 30, 2017, 08:40:53 AM
Before reading posts in this thread I thought that etc was earlier than eth which made it classic, actually. I hope no fork awaits us in a couple of days but if it does I guess it's up to websites where people stored money to decide whether they give them other coins or not.
I do not know yet whether BBC and BTC are one owner?
If ETH and ETC have obviously owned one owner, but between the BBC and BTC there is no clear info on this
If you mean two potential currencies which result from bitcoin split than I guess it's obvious that Satoshi is quite responsible for both. Some right on the new coin may belong to those coders who got segwit implemented. And yet it doesn't mean much anyway, for there is no such thing as a currency owner in such a case, I guess.

8777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 10 ETH or 1 BTC? on: July 25, 2017, 08:11:10 AM
In my opinion, it's always good to invest with digital currencies like Bitcoin and Ether. Both could be the best investment of your activities. But, Following the Segwit events on August 1, I think we should more care about ETH at least to being secured.
On the other hand, as Segwit now has big chances to be implemented successfully because of bip91 being locked in, ethereum is not having its best times with all these hacks and shows its disadvantages more than ever. That's why I suggest to wait till 1 of August and if Segwit gets activated - buy btc ASAP. If something goes wrong - buy ethereum (or litecoin).
8778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you think about this formula on: July 25, 2017, 07:58:59 AM
I think this equation is wrong. Just look at the first line to see that: "Divide BTC by Gold to get a value". Bitcoin's value has nothing to do with gold. It is fool demand and offer thing. Gold lives its own life. Even fiat nowadays is not backed up by gold. Ethereum is currently having big security problems and lots of shitty projects built on this platform. If in the future it deals with them then it may become as good as bitcoin.
8779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We are being used. on: July 25, 2017, 07:45:46 AM
I see you guys writing that icos can't be stopped. Nobody can forbid them releasing new and shitty coins, that's true, but it is us who are actually responsible for the effects, for among us there are people who sort of know ICOs are not good as an investment and yet they can't resist the temptation to buy something and get rich.
We have to ignore icos and they will die themselves. Or, who knows, one day we may really have a great coin released this way. ICOs are something we have to be formally tolerant with if we value freedom.
8780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another Ethereum ICO get hacked. on: July 25, 2017, 07:32:34 AM
This is more bad news. I wish these hackers would give Ethereum a break.
I think you are wrong. Hackers don't have to give a break. They are very annoying but useful people. They show the lack of security over and over again and one day it might stimulate Vitalik to do something about it. We have to respect hackers, for they are really smart people. It is the code that has to be unbreakable, not hackers not doing their job IMO.
