I like this a good indication of a large marginal mine either powered off or maybe upgrading.

prices are 45-46k

A drop back to 17.9 diff would be good for all established farms.

We have seen a lot of evidence that

chips are hard to come by.

That there maybe about 5eh of s9 hash in the hands of a big player.

Keep in mind the LTC/DOGE L7 is a big money earner in terms of $ per watt
of course the ETH asic gear also earns big money in terms of $ per watt

and the s19 pro earns less in terms of $ per watt.

Since bitmain is a really big gear producer of all 3 above. they may have come to the conclusion shift all 3 around don't mine against yourself.

Ie selling the gear makes less money then shutting it off and shuffling it around. Based on $ per watt.

Everything since May shows that all 3 major hash rates are locked down and controlled by very big players.

does anyone know where Jack Ma is?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Ma

My guess is someone else runs bitmain and that they have locked down the hashrate for the 3 biggest algorithms.

If you were China government you could do this.  Real gear and chip restriction. To the entire world.

Now this is all speculation but hashrate and gear production is very very very very tightly controlled at this moment.

Dead cat bounce high is ~$53k. We now know that bitcoin will not go higher than $53k again.

Should we give you a new homage thread for this prediction?
8763  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why I'm an atheist on: September 10, 2021, 12:59:22 AM
I just need to open this thread to start laughing. From the things I read from the believers, but also from the non-believers.

I already wrote that Christians walking around with crosses with Jesus nailed is to the very least disrespectful. People were burned alive or dug from the grave and burned after dead for much less than that.

Believers have more reasons to become atheist.

Science says they will sleep better, without the need to constantly having nightmares, thinking on burning on hell because of using a condom.

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/08/200828204948.htm
https://neurosciencenews.com/atheists-sleep-16926/

My position is all atheists are religious fanatics that choose to believe in nothing. Totally as fucked up as religious beliefs.

The reality is we are simply too stupid to know what the fuck is happening and agnosticism is the only sane way to be.

Btw if you a true agnostic you can switch to either god belief or nothing belief when and if they are correctly and accurately described to you by the universe.

I was raised a roman catholic grades k to 8 a total of nine years of training.

I have come to realize I have zero need to believe in things i do not understand or know.

ie God or nothing.

For me good friends and kindness to people when possible are my goals while I live here on earth 🌏.
whats next don’t know don’t care I will deal with it when it happens.

8765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Just tell me if this is a bad idea on: September 09, 2021, 10:54:26 PM
Since you aren't in any form of hurry then it can work, you will need alot of patience because in coming months crypto market can decline alot making every dream not worth it anymore, think about this very well before doing it and also make sure your electricity bill is nearly free ( cheaper ) just for the sake of continuous mining in bear market period

cheap power and good card deals do the trick.

all my 1080ti evga hybrids ran from 2017 to 2021 I sold all of them in Jan of 2021 for close to list price of 2017. my partner and I had 28 of them. not a 1 failed. well a fans on the radiator needed replacement but that is nothing.

So they all paid off fully more then once and were sold close to original price in 2021.

needless to say we did well.

we have a lot of gear again. but we have cheap power and do no run the gear hard.

so if profits drop from 5 k to 1k a month they will take 20 plus months to pay off.

8766  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin on a recovery mode on: September 09, 2021, 10:24:05 PM
very shocking hit this week , the 10% decline in bitcoin impacted all coins , but the bitcoin recovery is very good the price has returned to 45k $ now , and I'm sure in the next 2 weeks bitcoin will reach 54k $ again
and here I believe that investing in bitcoin doesn't have to panic if there is a decline it will definitely go up again

algorand did okay.
8767  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2021, time for a new general & diff speculation thread... on: September 09, 2021, 08:06:02 PM

..........

+ or - 1%

and prices over 45k https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

lets just do this for the rest of the year. Wink

I am quite certain that the vast majority of folks that are looking at BTC as an "investment" have little interest in a a moderately static price of $45K to $50K. I still read articles that are pushing BTC price of $100K by years end. They may well just out for the "pump and dump" but if BTC breaks to $65K or higher, difficulty will follow in the same direction until every single S9 is restarted. Smiley

Yeah true. But 140 eh of mining gear is very happy at this.

So far 2021 has been a very good year for miners. Not as good for johnny come lately traders.

Ie if you purchased first coins this year it is very likely you are a loser as many days are well over 50k price maybe 75 days over 50k and 100 over 46k
8768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gaming or mining on laptops on: September 09, 2021, 06:59:14 PM
i mined with
a dell laptop
an omen laptop

the dell was a decent deal and was okay at doing it. about 33mh and 105 watts 24/7/ 40 days. I returned it as I finally got a pc.

let me find the link for it.

they have a few open box

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-g5-15-6-fhd-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-8gb-memory-amd-radeon-rx-5600m-256gb-solid-state-drive-grey/6409419.p?skuId=6409419

likely they are burnt out.

I paid 850 I am an elite member 45 day return policy I used it for 40 days.

I felt it ran far too hot, but it did work the whole time { 40 days }

Thanks -- getting visas and such might be a challenge, but interesting.

I guess a smaller "farm" (50kW) would be easier to get up and running in light commerical areas (say in the US).

Okay you are USA based correct?

Yeah. I would suggest a mixed farm

A few L3+ rigs to mine LTC and Doge.

A few gpu rigs and maybe a few BTC rigs.

Go for

32.0k in gpu
 7.0k in ltc
 7.0k in btc

hold 5k for fuck ups

you could buy 1 or two of these cases.---- my 2 arrive on Friday I will setup a build and see how they do.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5330379.msg56774805#msg56774805

Thanks for the advice!  How'd the new rigs turn out?

i used 2  12 card cases all

good happy to have purchased them

I am buying 2 more cases
8770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: September 09, 2021, 01:42:44 PM
Found a source for PNY Rtx A4000 cards

We got 18 of them

They do 63 mh at 120 watts.

They sold out dealer had 65 yesterday and now has 0.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FCBKau5xK00

They arrive monday. I will post results.

I am getting 2 more cases for 12 cards.

I will mix in these with my 3090 cards and have beastly rigs.

Just wondering why you ordered these over the 3090?

Are 3090s still hard to get hold of in the states?

I can get 2 of these for the same price as 3090s, so just wondering if  there is any advantage I'm missing?

Sure 3090's 1 for 2300 -2500 usd  they do  107-118 mh burn 275-310 watts total.

these a4000 2 for 2300 usd they do 120-126 burn 240-260 watts total.

legit sellers with 3 year warranties .

Also some 3090 2.5 or 3 slot not 2 slot

and these are 1 slot.

perfect form factor for the 12 slot cases I have,

I should have pushed harder and grabbed 24 not 17 but its okay.

Also gpu room has 8 x 30amp 240 volt circuits ready for gear.
So we want gear asap. the 3090's come in slow as fuck and are a tiny bit more money than the a4000

we have 3 L7+ coming
and 2000mh of eth

not enough gear

about 11kwatts for L7
about 5 kwatts for eth gpus

16 kwatts

those 8 circuits can do  38-42 kwatts

I was looking at NVIDIA RTX A2000, price seems to be about 45% of RTX A4000 from one of our suppliers.

(That is if they could deliver anything  Cheesy)

It has interesting specs (a cut down/slower clocked/slower memory RTX 3060) and maybe no LHR tricks?

If one looks at stock settings, RTX A2000 performance could be about 64% of RTX A4000 at 45% price & 50% power.

Maybe RTX A2000 memory can be tweaked and still be at 75W board power.

(Info is from Nividia & Techpowerup)

RTX A2000

GPU memory 6 GB GDDR6 (memory is running at 1500 MHz, 12 Gbps effective)
Memory interface 192-bit
Memory bandwidth 288 GB/s
CUDA Cores 3,328
Power consumption Total board power: 70 W

RTX A4000

GPU memory 16 GB GDDR6 (memory is running at 1750 MHz, 14 Gbps effective)
Memory interface 256-bit
Memory bandwidth 448 GB/s
CUDA Cores 6,144
Power consumption Total board power: 140 W

I Can't find them in stock I would grab them if I could. I did see them at $550 but sold out.

My sold for a4000 is done 65 in 2days gone.

sold out

Well we had a sept price slump in 2020
11.5 k aug 2020
10.3 k sept 2020
30k dec 2021

and we had a sept price slump in 2017
4600 late august 2017 to 3500 sept 2017 then took off in dec 2017 19k

both times we took off in the fall.

maybe we take off.

I just got 8x 30 amp circuits put in one spot we mine at.

I know this sounds crazy for many of you. But I wanna think further than tomorrow. And wanna secure my future. I am not willing to let these people control my life. And I wont give them everything I own. So better I blow everything I have into shit. Or find a way out.

Owning shit isn't going to help you much either. It just depends what you want to protect against. There are several levels of things that can go wrong.

World is pretty small now and only shrinking in privacy .

Being secure and safe is very difficult to insure.

Take pandemics pretend there is a Black plauge 33% death 💀 rate for covid 25

How do you secure and be safe from that?

What do you think are the long term consequences of smoking Cigg or Weed.

Other than cancer.

Smoking cigs and or weed both cause emphysema and or COPD.

They also cost a lot of money.

I smoked cigs from 1970 to 1996
I smoked weed from 1972 to 1991

It is what as known as protectionism.

Problems like this are the biggest barrier to BTC.

Depression is a result of low energy levels and self destructive thought loops.

I would argue that depression causes low energy levels and self destructive thought loops.

But I guess it is classic chick 🐥 or egg 🥚 what came first.
