May be old and from South America

frankly as long as you mine in any other country but china it is a boost for you.

My btc earnings are 2x
My ltc/doge earnings are 1.5x
My eth earnngs are 1.3x

actual coins not usd value.

Since my exit from mining will be say 2027 when I reach 70 I am not very concerned about this.  I am stacking coin as much as I can.

Yeah I saw that video of the Bulldozer going around and squishing a bunch of ASICs. I think the used the bulldozer and filmed it more for a publicity stunt to get people to listen I guess. Because its seems like overkill just to destroy some ASICs. And its also going to be a pain later to clean all that stuff up. An easier way would be to just dip the ASICs to some salt water and that'll be pretty much rendered useless. Won't be worth the effort to replace the corroded parts.

Strange why its in Latin America and I wonder if all of this boils down to that initial Musk tweet about BTC mining being bad for the environment. Because ever since then we see nothing but mining crackdowns such as this. I wonder if he never mentioned anything about pollution if any of this would be happening.

Very good 2tb ssd deal at newegg

so this ssd is 181-27 = 154

https://www.newegg.com/team-group-2tb-ex2/p/N82E16820331608?Item=N82E16820331608

I used this code

Enter promo code EMCEYSU47 at Checkout.

and I paid with PayPal using my discover card which is doing 5% off on PayPal

so
181
- 27
154
+10 tax
164
  -8 discover
156 usd for a 2tb ssd

pretty cheap price well rated ssd

So well all know I did pretty good with Doge.  Should have been better but still very well.

I have found a coin that may do nicely.

XEC

https://support.viabtc.com/hc/en-us/articles/900004339303

I mine it at viabtc.com

I use 1 rig of my sha256 gear an s15 set to low.

It does 21th about 134,000 coins a day

I started when coins were.

0.000022 usd

coins are now

0.000046 usd

I am up to 2.9 million coins.

If you have a lot of sha 256 gear and point 1 unit to this the upside is huge.

134,000 x 365 = 48,910,000 coins mined in a year with 21th. yeah diff will go up.

So say it mines 25,000,000 coins  if price moves to 0.00046

25,000,000 coins are 11,500 usd

a 21th machine mining btc would mine .067 btc with no diff change or maybe 0.04 btc in a year at 100k btc that is 4000

So we have 21th of 1100th mining XEC

it is ladder sale set at

0.000091
0.000910
0.009100
0.091000
0.191000
0.291000
0.491000
0.891000
1.189100

we have 2,918,985  coins at 0.000046

I will post back on this play in a month.

Plan is to mine it for 1 year.

It mines at a profit daily.

even with 15 cent power.

as 24 kwatts on low is 3.60 and 21 x .34 = 7.14

that is a $3.50 profit with 15 cent power.

So mine it sell 5 usd worth a day

you bank 1.40 usd cash and stack a lot of the coin.

It is literally no risk

If my power bill was $3.60 for it and I mined 135000 coins.

Sell 100,000 for $4.60 pocket 1 dollar and stack 10,000 coins

It is a no brainer to try it for 10 days.

you make  10 bucks  profit

you stack 100,000 coins list them for

0.0046 x   50,000 =   230 dollars
0.0460 x   50,000 = 2300 dollars

the worst you do is make 10 bucks.

which is pretty fucking good.

Where would you guys recommend getting started with small (<0.5mW) mining if you guys had your choice of locations (but had to live with local electricity suppliers)?  I have a a small amount ($100k) to invest in a location and rigs and want to get an idea of what your dream place would be...

So you have a desire to have 500kwatt farm.

It needs to have cooling. Fans fliters.
Moderate climate is good.

My 2 cents ... With such conditions, only Ukraine comes to my mind ... with the only difference in electricity costs 6 cents / kilowatt. In the rest, everything is as you indicated ... quite a civilized country, stable Internet, electricity supply and a very favorable climate. And if the owner of the mining equipment is ready to move to a new country, then he will be very surprised at the affordable prices for food and housing for a comfortable life.

Thanks -- getting visas and such might be a challenge, but interesting.

I guess a smaller "farm" (50kW) would be easier to get up and running in light commerical areas (say in the US).

Okay you are USA based correct?

Yeah. I would suggest a mixed farm

A few L3+ rigs to mine LTC and Doge.

A few gpu rigs and maybe a few BTC rigs.

Go for

32.0k in gpu
 7.0k in ltc
 7.0k in btc

hold 5k for fuck ups

you could buy 1 or two of these cases.---- my 2 arrive on Friday I will setup a build and see how they do.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5330379.msg56774805#msg56774805

fill every other slot with a 3090 gpu like this.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.4315713

and a six card rig would be close to 16k

buy a  goldshell

1️⃣Goldshell LT5 pro 2455M:  6772$

or some of these

1️⃣refurbished Antminer L3+ 504M with psu : 850$.

and maybe get a

1️⃣Avalon 1246 81T:  5545$

I have some l3+ with psu to sell

this is a typical price on ebay from a good seller 1300 or best offer which is subject to tax in the USA

https://www.ebay.com/itm/284415280395?

I can do better  with a payment in btc or ltc.

around 1050 with free shipping.

I mix mine

BTC about 1.5ph
LTC/doge now about 6.6gh
Eth about 3gh

Pretty cool case, eliminates the need for risers, but standard slot spacing has become obsolete.
Many cards are now 2.5, 2.75, 2.9 slots, etc. More flexible spacing would be ideal.

Many cards are now 2.5, 2.75, 2.9 slots, etc. More flexible spacing would be ideal.

If you could get nvidia 3060ti fe cards you could do 12 no issues.
If you could get nvidia 3070ti fe cards you could do 12 no issues.

Since I am going for 3090 six of them  will do just about 1800 watts
and I can do 3 rigs to a 30 amp 240 volt circuit.

Thanks -- getting visas and such might be a challenge, but interesting.

I guess a smaller "farm" (50kW) would be easier to get up and running in light commerical areas (say in the US).
As far as I know, US citizens only need a valid passport to enter Ukraine. You will need a visa if you intend to stay in the territory of Ukriana for more than 90 days (continuously). Thus, if you intend to visit the United States at least once every three months, there is no point in applying for a visa. In addition, I know one Ukrainian town in which about 20% of foreigners live on a permanent basis (learning to fly) ... I mean, having launched your mining powers, hypothetically, you can devote your free time to learning new skills (a kind of hobby). [Feel free to ask if you still have questions regarding Ukraine]  Wink

Should I be worried about my holdings on Coinbase?

https://www.techradar.com/news/coinbase-customers-up-in-arms-after-hackers-drain-crypto-wallets

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/24/coinbase-slammed-for-terrible-customer-service-after-hackers-drain-user-accounts.html

It looks like it only (potentially) impact folks that use 2FA over SMS as the hack involves SIM swapping to intercept SMS messages.  In other words, if you use Google Authenticator when logging into CB, you should be ok.

from 2016 to 2021

11000 complaints .

68 million customer.

11,000/68,000,000

means 1 in 6200 customers filed a complaint.

Most are over a sims hack.

and if you have more than 1000 usd worth on your coinbase they tell you do not use sims.

the worst case was 168k

why have 168k and uses sims to protect it? when sims hacking has been around for years.
