8761  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to prepare to Segwit2x and Bitcoin Gold ? on: October 25, 2017, 10:04:54 AM
Subject !

Should I stop accepting/sending bitcoins in days before / after forking, or wait some more confirmations more than 3-6 ?

Well yes if you are in any business or service where you need to constantly accept and or send payments then before the fork you should stop all transactions. Like the exchanges have stopped accepting bitcoin withdrawals and deposits 4 before the fork and would resume after a few new blocks have been mined already on the new chains. There is replay protection but to be safe I suggest you to not transaction in any bitcoin before the forking is complete.
8762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone here living full time on cryptocurrencies? Can you give guidance? on: October 24, 2017, 10:29:50 AM
Is there anyone here that is making money full time in the cryptospace?  If so, can you help guide with below questions?
I do trade but on a mid to long term basis. But I will try to help you out.

Quote
> What is the minimum investment a newbie needs?
For a newbie a small investment is better than a big one. There will be losses and you will gain experience from your losses. To prevent those from being too big I suggest newbies to start with small amounts before thinking of something big.

Quote
> How do you select an investment?
Depends on the coins developers and the idea that they are working on. If its unique and the team is real and workign hard then only I invest. However this decision often tends to be a gut feeling which is right or wrong in 50% cases.

Quote
> Do you HODL or day-trade?
Mainly I HODL specially for bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin and ripple. For other ether based tokens that seems to be slowing down development I tend to sell 70-80% , get the profit and hodl the rest.

Quote
> If you day-trade - how do you pick a coin that is day-trade worthy?
I dont day-trade so I cannot answer this question.
8763  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will the fork lead to? on: October 24, 2017, 10:23:41 AM
My point of view is by the following fork and getting some "Free" Btc gold the proce of bitcoin will decrease a lot
With a good price for btc gold. Well it will be more accurate if I said it MUST decrease after the fork
May I know your opinions?

People are increasing their stash of bitcoin as per the market it seems. However after the fork a dump may happen, but there may not be dump as well - this is because in the next year there will be more forks and people wont sell bitcoins just after the fork. They may hold it for the next upcoming fork. In fact these forks and formation of new altcoins based on bitcoin seems just a hype scheme to increase price of bitcoin and the market seems to be growing but the growth will lead to dump soon.
8764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin dice sites with lowest house edge in 2017 on: October 24, 2017, 10:18:44 AM
Every casino needs to have some house edge. It is the advantage that the casino has over the players and they earn from it. I would recommend you to try out crypto-games which has a low house edge. I prefer it because it was one of the first few sites which I have been played in. Again they have a great investment feature which I like where you can invest in the casino bankroll and you would get profits as per your share of the bankroll.
8765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Friend gives wallet seed to stranger and bitcoins disappear from his wallet on: October 24, 2017, 10:14:03 AM

A friend who asked for instructions on how to use certain features of his wallet, was apparently tricked into divulging his seed to a stranger, and now his 2.6 btc are missing from the wallet, and so is the stranger. Does he have any recourse?

First of all one never share the private key or seed (passphrase) of their wallet with any stranger friend or foe. Because one who has control over the private keys has control over their bitcoins. Technically speaking the coins dont belong to anyone in particular but the owner of the private key. So if that is stolen then the coins are also lost. One can try contacting the owner of the addresses to where to bitcoins were sent but it is highly unlikely that they will return it even if they are found.
8766  Economy / Reputation / Re: LAUDA give me negative feedback without any reason on: October 23, 2017, 10:16:22 AM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1702409.msg22067447#msg22067447

PLS check this and tell me, if one transaction could be a reason of that -1 feedback? What I was doing not allowed???
I am working in job, I have friends, I showed them bounties, one of my friend did his first bounty and have not got any ETH to withdraw it, I send my ETH to him, withdraw his coins and send my eth back..... - WHAT I DID WRONG, THAT I GOT -1 REP FROM LAUDA?Huh
It is nonse for me... really, I can not even send anybody any transaction cuz all will think that all wallets where u send money are your? Or what?

Obviously you did just make two different accounts just to shitpost and cheat bounty campaigns. There is no need to try to disapprove of this because its clearly visible from your actions.

What do you expect people here to be? fools like you? sending payments from one address to another address that you control. In any bounty campaign it is not allowed any sort of alternate account & or payment address. People can easily understand from your actions that you simply enrolling alt accounts/address and thus abusing the campaigns.

This is looked down upon in this forum. Also if you retaliate like this then chances of your negative rating being removed (which obviously is not happening anytime soon) is even reduced. Dont even make those false claims about the other address belonging to your friend. People like you should be ashamed of themselves - trying to cheat a bounty campaign just to get some free coins.

First of all learn how to behave and maintain etiquette in this forum and then enroll yourself in any campaign.
8767  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tricky Question, Sell BTC and buy Altcoin? on: October 23, 2017, 10:06:39 AM
There is an opinion that altcoin should be bought when important news comes out about it, and during this time of the pump the altcoin should be sold.

What do yo mean altcoins should be bought when important news comes out about them? That is explicitly when the pump occurs and you would want to sell them if you want to get some profit. Buying should be on the dip and not the tip. However you may think otherwise.

The second part of your post is also not correct. There is currently a pump occurring in the price of bitcoin and the altcoins are generally showing a dump. This is a good time to buy some altcoins which you previously could not buy due to high price.
8768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did you learn from your gambling mistakes? on: October 23, 2017, 10:02:17 AM
Some people can't control and learn from gambling mistakes, because they lose to many, and they want their money back.
So if they don't have a money again, they borrow from their friend to hope they can win and get their money back.

There have been people who are desperately in need to control their gambling urges. This is commonly seen in addicted gamblers and those who dont have any other hobby and have started gambling. They think that they will get lucky and thus place bets more and more such that losses that they incur keep on increasing. They may win some bets but obviously not all bets. Thus they dont learn from their mistakes easily. Rather they keep on repeating the mistakes.

8770  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best short-term investment you have ever made? on: October 23, 2017, 09:54:49 AM
Mine is in Etherum coin because way back April I invested 5 Etherum and hold it and after that the etherum reach the 400$ market cap so In that time I sell all my Etherum and I am waiting for it to dump again and I will buy again Etherum hope it will works again.

I had bought some 1-2 Ether at price of 10USD. But I did not believe that the project would be big in future so I did sell it away after it reached 20USD. However I believe ethereum to be a long term investment now since there are many ICOs happening and all of those using ethereum tokens need ether as transaction fee and gradually if the crypto economy is governed by these services then ethereum will be one of the biggest crypto after bitcoin. Hence it is better to invest ether as long term investment.
8771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin trading is very bad now. on: October 22, 2017, 09:56:31 AM
If you have a knowledge of altcoin trading then you will realize that this is the best time to invest in altcoins as with the increase in price of bitcoins all the price of altcoins has gone low and if you invest in some reputed coins now and hold for next couple of months then it will give you best returns on your investments.

The current price trend of altcoins is like usual - unpredictable. The pump in bitcoin is happening and people are buying bitcoin before the fork. So I wold like to reiterate what I always tell people about trading which is patience. Because of the price pump of bitcoin and dump of altcoin you may seem to lose money from investing in altcoins. However after the fork bitcoin will dump and altcoins will rise. So just be patient and hold them for now.

1. Do i need a license? How much is the license?
Most gambling sites these days do acquire a licence. If you dont have one then people may consider your site/business as shady.

Quote
2. Are we all sure it's legal?
That depends on what country yo are operating from and the countries the players are logging in the website from. It is illegal in many countries but I am sure there are many workarounds for this  Wink

3. What kind of domain do i need to buy if I want to put my own script? (I heard there were a couple of different types of scrupts)
If you have some scripts to run make sure they are provably fair. That is the biggest part of any online casino and physical casino is that every roll should be random and that randomness should be verifiable by some online/offline roll verifier. Other than that dont buy any domain that is known scam to people.
8773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Had a 1st time Payment in my new wallet - NEED HELP on: October 22, 2017, 09:44:37 AM
I recently had a sender deposit an amount into my wallet that I just set up - this is my first time using Bitcoin.  They confirmed deposit this morning and my balance is showing 0.  Does this usually take time to go through?  How long should I usually wait before I begin to worry?  Is there a way to track the transaction?  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you

You can check the status of the transactions which have be done on any block explorer like blockchain.info. Now are yo sure that the sender has not mistaken you address and has honestly sent the money to your address? I suggest you look up your address on a block explorer website and check all transactions - since this is the first transaction for you then it should be listed on top. If there is no transaction shown even when the sender claims that they have sent the coins then there is possibility that they have stolen the money.
8774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when Bitcoin reaches its Max Supply? on: October 22, 2017, 09:41:02 AM
if bitcoin is still used, maybe the bitcoin price will be to the moon. but if not, maybe slowly, bitcoin price will reach its lowest point. well, it could be the price of bitcoin to be completely stable.
HAHA, many people also think that bitcoin will go to the moon when the supply reaches its maximum.
Only 21 million bitcoins have been created, but the world has 7 billion

So its very imposible that all people can have bitcoin, if people reach the maximum in that case i think bitcoin price will have more value. So many people can use it for every day. But im sure not all people can have bitcoin.  That's why there is a lot of kind of any coin. (Correct me if im wrong)

When bitcoin reaches its max supply no more coins will me mined anymore. The miners will simply mine the transactions from then on and no more blocks. Now there is no reach to think that the supply will be small for the world population because satoshi has thought of that previously and that is why the limited supply makes it only a more precious asset - hence the price will increase in future and there is no one to stop that. Every person will be abble to theoretically buy bitcoin but the price spikes will happen.
8775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did you learn from your gambling mistakes? on: October 21, 2017, 06:20:40 PM
Many gamblers know that they can't win money from gambling but they keep on gamble again and again but not with a small amount. Some people even borrow money from others to gamble. That means they never learn from their past gambling mistakes.

Are you doing this kind of gambling mistake?

Gambling is a form of entertainment and pleasure for sime and I think that sometimes it cannot be helped. However. Losing gives motivation and also helps the gambler to learn a few tricks and tips and that way he can minimize if not completely erase his lossess.

First of all losing never gives motivation and no tricks or tips will help him in winning as gambling is purely based on luck so he will win only if he is lucky on that particular day and a person who is addicted to gambling will never learn from his mistakes as even if he loose he will continue to gamble hoping that he will win in the next game.

Addiction to gambling only makes understanding the bad effects of gambling to a lesser degree. People tend to think that their decisions are right no matter what even when they realize that they are constantly losing money. In a casino it is true that luck is what matters most and not any tricks - in fact in any provably fair game any trick is a type of cheating. If you play fair then in the long run you will lose for sure.
8776  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ethereum Dark is a SCAM ! on: October 21, 2017, 09:35:28 AM
Honestly speaking why do you people even bother to look into some new coin that appears in the market before doing prior research on it? Is it because everyone here is hungry for free money and willing to grab every airdropped coin like those e-prefix coins that were flooding the forum last 3 weeks?

The name itself derives suspicions because if it was something related to ethereum then the official devs would have confirmed that. Obviously it is a Pump and Dump made by the scammers behind it and the shills that are paid by it.

People who have been with the crypto market for long time now will understand these schemes of scams very easily but the noobs who are easily blinded by vaporware and false claims will fall for it.
8777  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: platform to trading on: October 21, 2017, 09:28:30 AM
hi all,
i have 0,1 bitcoin and i would try to trade. witch platform can i use to trade?

Look if you are willing to do trading and earn from it, I suggest you to do proper research on the capitalization and market trends of different coins that you are interested in before you jump into it. Trading needs some practice so please be careful on what you are trading and dont let every thing you see on the internet influence you.

Now for a platform to trade in there are centralized and decentralized exchanges, and obviously decentralized ones (like EtherDelta) are better than centralized ones. But its totally your decision which ones to use. HitBTC, Poloniex, Bittrex are there where you can trade fiat vs bitcoin/altcoin, bitcoin vs altcoin and altcoin vs altcoin

I use HitBTC and if you want to join with my invite, PM me for a link.
8778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 3 cryptocurrencies on: October 21, 2017, 09:21:27 AM
Hi, I got 100 bitcoins to invest in top 3 cryptocurrencies. Please help me out here to make a decision that what should I invest in and WHY?

Thanks

It depends what your main goal is. If it's fiat profit, you should probably just keep BTC and sell it after some time since BTC it's growing and as it seems it will keep growing for some time. But eventually the choice is yours.

I agree that for fiat to make profit of, selling bitcoin after buying is a good option. Bitcoin price currently is above 6k USD and so I dont recommend buying it. Rather one can try to set buying orders at lower prices because a dump will happen soon. After that price will rise again and you can continue to hold bitcoin to sell in future. Other than that buying ethereum is good if you are going to hold it for long term, in short term ethereum may not be that profitable. Dash Ripple and Monero are other coins that you can also try.
8779  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Cash will NEVER be bitcoin on: October 21, 2017, 09:17:44 AM
Bitcoin cash is an altcoin - lets just accept that and move on. It will never reach the level of what ethereum or litecoin nor will it ever be the second to bitcoin. It is just a pump and dump scheme which got a lot of traction because it was forked from the original bitcoin blockchain. People can buy it but it wont rise anytime soon. And besides it has not official support of people and wont last long. Soon it will reach the lowest values possible and get delisted from exchanges.
8780  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long Term BTC Investment Is No More on: October 20, 2017, 10:11:02 AM
With bitcoin value increasing to new heights every day or week, is long term investment of bitcoin in alts no more? Because with the increase of value in bitcoin, all alts suffer and their value in bitcoin decreases even if they are stable enough to keep their value in dollar sustained.

So all one can earn from such long term trade is a loss in bitcoin.

So, is short term trading alts the only option or even that is too risky for now and holding could be the only option.

And for buying alts, one should use dollar instead of bitcoin.

Buying bitcoin and selling bitcoin is still profitable. Why do you insist on moving funds to altcoins? Effectively you are selling away bitcoin to buy altcoins. If you have faith in that altcoin then by all means do so but that does not mean price will rise like bitcoin for that specific altcoin in future.

Now there are still methods to do short term bitcoin trading as well. Trading at a difference of 100$ in price is worth it and you can do that too. It does not mean that there will be loss in bitcoin - its totally your own methods of trading and analyzing how you can make profit out it.
