8761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0-10 Byte fees starting to clear up from the mempool on: June 19, 2017, 09:17:14 AM
According to — https://github.com/jhoenicke/mempool / https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#2d.

Seems like overall fees are on their way down! Thoughts?

I have yet to see someone post that they are being charged lower fees, if it is indeed happening it would be great and will make Bitcoins great again, as the fees was a big issue with everyone but now it's about to end for good if the Op reports is true, especially it hurts when you want to send 10$ and you need to pay 2 - 5$ fees it's cruel, but knew a solution would come let's hope it's start of good things.
8762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum is a good investment move on: June 19, 2017, 08:51:54 AM
I consider Ethereum to be a good investment move. I see the $1000 mark by the end of this year.

Investors beware you are investing in a alt, and alts look promising for quiet a while, before they go bust though Ethereum has done good choosing it over bitcoin is a big risk and in the end its price will drop then there will be complaints here, I would advise you to rethink of it and stick to Bitcoins and a small amount in ether, that also I am not keen to do personally, I like Bitcoins only.
8763  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain.com domain offline. on: June 19, 2017, 05:05:40 AM
Hello,

is anyone else having problem accessing bitmain.com yesterday and today I'm receiving mostly this site can't be reached.

Thanks

Able to open and browse the site, it may be some issue in your browser or from which country you browse it. I would suggest you to clear your cookies and history and then open it. Normally it should open, if it doesn't check if your Internet provider has blocked it that could be one of the issues, otherwise it's working all good nothing much to worry about, it happens with all websites, somethings hosting problems alsom
8764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Model is Awesome. on: June 18, 2017, 01:20:54 PM
Come to think of it guys, This forum is full of  Anonymous users. We barely no each other yet Millions of Dollars worth of Bitcoin is handed to Trusted Members for safe keeping. Even non Anonymous Social Media like Facebook and Twitter would not encourage you to trust the most trusted person on their platform.

Why am writing this, some people erroneously equate anonymity with crimes which is why they don't bother about government obsession with centralizing Bitcoin/Blockchain believing  it will keep away bad people.  Facebook is a den of scammers even the owner don't seem to care. I feel safe here than the Social Media site and others like it.

The entire blockchain can be much safer than the entire World which is "under government control" if it self-regulate like Bitcointalk or even better. It takes only smart people to make this possible NOT politicians, elites and opaque government.
Bitcoin/Blockchain was created to be independent of government control. It's more transparent than the best countries on Earth. Blockchain will solve the pervasive corruption on Earth.  Handing it over to the Elites and governments will end up destroying its purpose.

I love this forum and it's model they have simple rules do deals with trusted members, avoid newbies for trade and only trade with them if they use escrow. Again for escrow there are set members who do this service and they have been doing it. If say some members loose their way and decide to cheat then immediately they receive a negative feedback and that's a best part of it.
8765  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Making bitcoin with twitter still possible? on: June 18, 2017, 08:58:29 AM
Hi,
I was checking if there is still any way to make any bitcoin using your twitter account. I saw there use to be this service https://birds.bitcoin.com/ but somehow when i try to login it remains blank so am thinking probably not available anymore.

So does any of you guys use any method to make bitcoins with twitter? Would appreciate if you could share some ideas Smiley

Thank you,
rrege

There are few twitter campaigns but they hardly pay much, I mean first if all you need to have a minimum set of followers again those followers have to be real. You need to retweet or tweet you can check the service section out here, but I would warn you there hardly any good earning out of it, for me personally it was boring. But upto you if you want such low earnings.
8766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's still really hard to use bitcoin as a regular currency on: June 18, 2017, 04:55:38 AM
http://www.cnbc.com/2017/06/14/despite-its-record-setting-surge-this-year-its-still-really-hard-use-bitcoin-as-a-regular-currency.html

Quote
With all the hysteria around bitcoin surging to records and possibly being the currency of the future, CNBC decided to put it to the test. Can one person live off of bitcoin for a week?

New York City may have thousands of restaurants and bars, but only a handful accept bitcoin. We made a lot of calls and reached out to several vendors to see if they accept the digital currency. We also leveraged "bitcoin maps" online which were not entirely accurate.

However, we did find a few eateries in the city who accept the currency directly - two of which are French restaurants in lower Manhattan – Le Village and La Serine.

Another option was using Gyft.com, a site which allows you to purchase gift cards to Whole Foods, Starbucks, CVS, etc with bitcoin. This ended up being tremendously helpful, but also highlighted the reliance one must have on third parties to get by just on bitcoin.

Another big takeaway? Using bitcoin can be costly. Checking out at vendors that accept bitcoin is relatively easy, but I ended up spending on average 40 percent more versus paying with dollars or credit card because of unfavorable conversion rates and additional transaction fees. For example, my ice cream sandwich at Melt sold for $5, but with bitcoin I ended up spending the equivalent of more than $9. The gift cards also come with additional fees.

Transportation is also a challenge. As a reporter, I am constantly on the go, traveling around the city to meet sources, attend conferences and coming on air from different studios. The subway is typically how I get around town. Unfortunately subways do not accept bitcoin. Same story for yellow taxis.

The third option (besides walking) was ride-sharing apps. I was able to buy an Uber gift card via Gyft.com. I ended up spending more time and money taking this roundabout way, but at least I could travel from downtown to the upper west side without walking.

After a couple days, I started reaching out to folks in the NYC bitcoin community. I found a bitcoin investor online who was wiling to sell me a subway card in exchange for bitcoin. I met him at Penn Station the following day and he gladly helped me out. This interaction proved to me that the bitcoin network is very supportive of one another.

Well it's growing Japan had adopted it, and so are many other countries following suit. There are many online sites which accept bitcoins and name any service you will find it in the service section out here and you shall get it. I believe Bitcoin can be used for anything and everything all that is required is to find the right way to use it.
8767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 18, 2017, 04:52:47 AM
If by mistake India loses, there's going to be chaos here and same goes for Pakistan. I'm scared for my country rather than the match now lol
But it's true that both teams are deserving and well prepared for the match. Where one has a strong bowling team, the other team is used to chasing 300+ runs.
Looking at the amount of money involved in gambling and both these countries have a history of fixing matches anything is possible,if i find something unusual i would back down from entering further, lets see how this match goes and then decide what to do with the match.Lets expect a clean match in the final. Wink

Match fixing is not happening only between these two countries but nowadays most of the countries and sports are involved in this match-fixing, and that's it is quite hard to predict the winners just based on their past performances. We also need the luck to support our skills to win these bets, and that's why I always suggest don't bet huge money in any single game even though you're very sure about the winners. Anyway, today's match will be very good to watch and enjoy my weekend.

Yes match fixing is quiet rampant and sad part is there is nothing we can do to prove it that it happens, I don't care what they have fixed for today's game, all I want is a cracker of a game to be played, this is the finals and it doesn't get bigger than this, however I feel Pakistan has improved it will fall short of a victory, it should be a close match with India expected to win this contest.
8768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need to rethink the way we look at 1 BTC value... on: June 17, 2017, 12:07:59 PM
OK, so now when a newbie looks at 1 BTC says: " I will never be able to own that! Too expensive!" - yes because people are willing to have 1 coin but how about if we make people understand that even owning 0.01 BTC can bring good wealth to their lives in the near future... I mean yeah it's great to own 1 BTC or more but that doesn't mean it's not great owning 0.1 BTC right?

True many people bulk out after hearing the prices of one Bitcoins and there so much information that people are really confused as to how they will be able to afford Bitcoins, recently when I was with friends and it was rising they were saying it is not possible to own a Bitcoin and some were like let's buy a whole Bitcoin, sensing they were confused I told them to buy in small quantities and as expected they did not know this, as not many people know this, it's important to spread the right knowledge.
8769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: June 17, 2017, 09:50:32 AM
Premier League 2017/2018 will officially start on August 12th and end on May 13th 2018.

Here are the matches of the first day:

Arsenal  vs  Leicester City
Brighton vs Manchester City
Chelsea  vs Burnley
Crystal Palace vs Huddersfield Town
Everton vs Stoke City
Manchester United vs West Ham United
Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur
Southampton vs Swansea City
Watford vs Liverpool
West Bromwich Albion vs Bournemouth

Hard match for manchester united against west ham and lucky for manchester city against brighton, i bet manchester city will take first place since the competition start.

No it's not.  Man United will have an easier time vs the likes Westham this season compared to last season.  IF they sign their transfer targets this summer.

There's some rumors going around that Ronaldo is leaving Real and is in talks with a club te media will not name because it's a 'secret'.  Lol.  But I'm gonna assume it's Man United...  or maybe PSG?

I don't feel it's a good idea to underestimate West Ham, Manchester United yet needs many big players to come in and make the team strong. While many have got excited to hear Ronaldo coming home, I doubt it, firstly his transfer cost is way to high though United can buy him but then they will find it difficult to buy any one else. Secondly we will loose DE Gea for sure if this goes through, I feel he will stay at Madrid and will make them pay the penalty money and take home increased salary.
8770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fast & Safe? on: June 17, 2017, 09:45:15 AM
What is the absolute fastest and SAFEST way to store coins that are currently in an exchange?

I believe this is in reference to August 1st panic, we'll I would suggest you to move it to paper wallet or any wallet for that matter that gives you private keys. Fastest you mean you are worried that your coins are getting stuck then pay higher fees or head into service section out here, many are making fast transactions done for a fee or even free using trx services.
8771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting Bitcoin in physical store (UK) on: June 17, 2017, 04:41:21 AM
Hi all,

Has anyone got a breakdown of the different options available to accept bitcoin in a physical store in the UK and the costs associated with them? In a physical store can the merchant just present the customer their QR code to accept payment in bitcoin free of charge?

What are the advantages of using someone like BitPay? Is it just avoiding price volatility bitcoin?

Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Even if say you find a store you yet will have to pay fees say for 10$ you need to pay 2 - 5$ fees what's good will it be. Plus then confirmation will be a big pain, now until the seller sees the coins coming and let's you take the good it's nice, but you need to think the fees that your wallet or network will charge you, secondly how much confirmation time it will take, and is the seller allows this, what are his policies, I would be bit skeptical to flaunt my Bitcoins in public but you may have other ideas.
8772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Complete Garbage!!! on: June 16, 2017, 12:48:54 PM

Hardly anything relevant in the article except that they just speak about Bitcoins lol, speculative hmm it works more on a demand and supply and it's get effected by news so partially speculative. Other wise I do not find anything relevant in the article except just another lame attempt to harm the identity of Bitcoins. I am sure these articles are just going to be on the rise as we move towards August 1st,but those who know Bitcoins won't be effected by this.
8773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best way to store my cryptocurrenices on: June 16, 2017, 10:58:36 AM
I am about to buy 1 BTC. I need to know the best way to store it and also some insight into doing it. Thanks. Also where can I buy digibyte it's at a real low right now might invest a cheeky 50 and just hold it forever

With the August 1st deadline looming on us I would advise not to store your coins in a exchange, you should store your coins in a wallet that give you private keys, best would be a paper wallet http://toppayingsites.net/tutorials/how-to-use-paper-wallet-bitcoin/ I am following this tutorial, note this tutorial is not created by me, so any doubts ask out there. Choose your wallet really carefully it's scary times these days and if you don't have a private key, you could have a problem.
8774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN DEMAND EXPLODE IN INDIA on: June 16, 2017, 09:27:10 AM
As far as I heard from my India friends, Bitcoin is grossly over hyped out there, one reason was the November 8th event and the government has decided to take a call on this very soon. So for Indians holding coins in exchanges I would suggest you to move out your coins to wallets that give you a private key, that way you shall be safe. Also Bitcoin has been playing very speculative out there which I feel is not all healthy for the growth of Bitcoins and it's users
8775  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason for Bitcoin price fall on: June 16, 2017, 09:22:54 AM
Do any body know the exact reason for fall of bitcoin price? It has almost fallen $500 in the past three days.Any specific reason?

A correction was always going to be due and it's about time that it happened, people sell when it goes high and as far I know there was lot of sell and that's one factor. Secondly the August 1st Is a major news that's been effecting many including me, some have decided to dump Bitcoin for Ltc and then wait and see and that's hurting Bitcoins. I feel post august 1st, we shall see some clarity till then not really sure where the prices can go down or it remains stable.
8776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BItcoin needs to die on: June 16, 2017, 09:15:38 AM
What use is Bitcoin if in 9 years you cant even buy groceries with this shit

You cant build a business on bitcoin because of the volatility and even if you try to runa business on bitcoin you have to wait forever for a transaction to be sent

whats the point of bitcoin, if you cant do anything with this shit?

What is the point of this stupid post, what is the point of your coming to this forum. What is the point of you talking nonsense stuff. For your information it is common knowledge that bitcoin has price volatility issue. There are online shops that accept bitcoin for your daily needs and you can purchase almost anything from them. Bitcoin is far better than most of the currencies and it is helping lot of people, why do I feel you bought Bitcoin at a high price and it's come down and that's why this frustration in you. I would suggest you to remain calm and wait it shall rise again.
8777  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best exhange on: June 15, 2017, 07:09:35 AM
I am new to bitcoin and have only recently started to buy. I am at the moment buying through coinbase. Twice this week I have tried to buy bit coin through coinbase. Whilst the price has been dropping. To my great disappointment it appears that when prices are dropping or going higher then it is practicallly impossible to make a purchase. I have a feeling that this would be the case if you where trying to sell. Does anyone know of a better way that I can purchase bitcoin from here in the uk. As clearly coinbase is not up to the job. I've only been buying bitcoin a week. How can you possibly grow your bitcoin if you can't buy when price is down or sell when the price is up. I am only abl to buy in small amounts at the moment. So it's needs to be something easy until I can finally build up to owning my first bitcoin.  Tia

Yes even I have heard of this problem, I am not really sure what's causing this, normally I have been using coinbase.com and I like it but with the fork coming I will have to shift my coins, so would advise you to do the same, then if you want to buy coins you could buy it here from many trusted members. The only issue it could be this they will charge some % over the prev price, always look at their past transactions before you make a decision, you could use localbitoin, it is risky if a transaction goes sour you can do nothing about it. Best is to buy from here from trusted members.

"Regulators Needs the Blockchain Master Key" — Morgan Stanley
http://internetmarketing.freedombucks.ws/morgan-stanley-regulators-need-the-blockchain-master-keys-3/

Insecured Elites are about to takeover the Blockchain. It's more like few people taking over the Internet.
For the first time in my life I am very terrified of our future. This people are not government, I know what they are capable of. They claim that regulating the New Internet (Blockchain) will increase the price of Bitcoin, this is a big lie.

Why are you not worried brothers? . How can you create a beautiful technology only for a few dangerous people to hijack it.
The people we are about to entrust the Blockchain network on are capable of wiping out a whole community. They are dangerous people.
Wake up everybody, we are about to be enslaved. Wake up.

Another stupid attempt to try and make Bitcoins centralized, they will fall flat to their face and nothing will come out of it. Look at the history every time they have just been trying only to fall flat on the face. This attempt shall also meet a dead end and I am sure of it, they can try as much as they want but they shall not succeed, why can't they leave Bitcoins alone, why mess up the only thing that is helping so many survive.
8779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 15, 2017, 04:29:42 AM
It is turning out to be an interesting final,if India could defeat Bangladesh ,it will be a huge final as it is rare to see India playing against Pakistan because of political reason and if India could reach the final then it would be a dream match, two rival team fighting for the trophy,i am sure it will be a highly anticipated final and let the best team win.

If India defeats Bangladesh, this match's viewership would shoot through the roof. Even when India played Pakistan in the league stages, the fans of both teams got worked up into a frenzy.
The only other similar match that I can think of is the T20 final in the inaugural T20 World Cup. India managed to win that one.

While there is no doubt that India is the overwhelming favourites to win this match, I would not be surprised if it goes to a close contest, Bangladesh are not a minor team anymore, they have caused upsets and on a given day they can cause a upset. India has the upper hand but let's not forget what Sri Lanka did to them, easily chased a 300+ target so to call on this game, it would be very difficult until few overs, would advise caution in this game be careful when you play, my prediction India wins by a close margin.

The jackpot prize has been increased to 1.13 BTC as I saw today and it makes me want to hunt it. Who knows if I will be so lucky today. With 10k satoshi if we are lucky we can get 1 Bitcoin. Good luck me and everybody!

That's awesome I will try to go for it in the coming days, worth a try and since Bitdice is fair only increases every one chances.

The rules to win the Jackpot have changed. Be sure to check the help page for the info which is also shown below:

Quote
If you win the Jackpot, you will receive 90% from the Jackpot amount if your bet was above or equal to 0.01 BTC (Bitcoin) or equivalent value in other supported crypto-currencies.

If your bet was lower than this stipulated amount, you will receive only a percentage of the Jackpot amount. You can calcluate it as WAGER*90/0.01.

Thanks for this update many of us would have ignored this and only regretted later, this would help everyone who's interested in playing. Especially many would blame the site for misleading and they would not have read it also.
