@overboost. I am sorry to say this but it might move down further to 15k satoshis. I will never recommend anyone to buy now if they do not want their bitcoin to lose value.
As a cryptocoin, Aeon's future is still murky. I hope smooth finishes the code rebase and presents the new roadmap soon.

This is a sad day for Ethereum and its followers, and it is the Cryptokitties' fault. I reckon those cute little kittens should now be developed and released in all blockchain platforms like NEO, QTUM and Ethereum Classic as a scalability test. The Cryptokitties' catchphrase should be Cryptokitties, coming to a blockchain near you. Ph33r us. Mobile messaging startup Kik is planning to shift its Kin token network from ethereum to Stellar, CEO Ted Livingston confirmed on Wednesday.
Speaking in a live question-and-answer session on YouTube, the company's founder argued that ethereum's blockchain which the app is presently based on is unable to scale to the level that Kin needs, among other issues. The answer, he said, is to shift to the Stellar network, first unveiled in 2014 and created by Ripple co-founder Jed McCaleb.
Livingston went as far as to blast ethereum as "the dial-up era of blockchain," noting that gas prices which are needed to execute computations and other transaction fees need to be built into the app to ensure users' transactions go through. Kik first announced it was contemplating a move onto another blockchain in October, stating that ethereum's scaling issues meant it "might not be the right solution" at the time.
In Wednesday's video, Livingston said Kin was pushing the limits of what ethereum could handle with its roughly 10,000 users. The network's reliability is another factor in the planned move, he said, pointing to recent network congestion as a result of the popular CryptoKitties app.Read in full https://www.coindesk.com/goodbye-ethereum-kik-plans-move-ico-tokens-stellar/

If he deserves a chance to drive for a team is only individual to that team, not to you or me. They have made a better examination on his latest data and they can evaluate better if he truly deserves to race in Formula 1.
Also the news has the tendency to hype, very much like the news about ICOs hehe. So I do not reckon Kubica is as good as the news' hype.

I think they are going to use those to airdrop to LTC, ETH, QTUM, HSHARE holders to get more people onboard. Otherwise where else would they get the supply to do that? I went to the live even in Silicon Valley also. I don't think it's a scam.
Forking the blockchain and then claiming all inactive coins to be in their control is not a scam? Okay, but that is your opinion. In any case, let us wait for United Bitcoin Foundation to name their head and let us hope it is Craig Wright hehehe.

We know from experience that traders of the CME will be quite happy with the profits made on the high volatile nature of bitcoin. Given that they will look for more high volatile cryptocoins to list, what altcoin do you reckon will it or they be?

@cicciobtc. I told you, he is not fit for Formula 1 racing anymore. But it was nice for Williams to test him and to give him his chance. Sadly, after the rally car accident, his career is over.
In any case, a young driver with money for the team is always the best choice for smaller teams. I know Williams has the history, but they are not as big as before.

Someone posted a Bloomberg article about United Bitcoin and the poster might have thought that it is another hard fork to increase the block size. No, it is really an attempt to scam the community once again, and this time they might want to take control of Satoshi's inactive coins and others' for their own devices. I predict that Jeff Garzik and his friends will nominate Craig Fake Satoshi Wright as the head of the United Bitcoin Foundation and claim that Satoshi's coins are rightfully his. United Bitcoin is by far one of the most controversial projects in existence today. According to the whitepaper, this project will go after inactive account balances. All of this money will be moved to multisignature addresses controlled by the United Bitcoin Foundation. A very troublesome development, especially when looking at the bigger picture. A lot of money is locked in addresses which can no longer be accessed by its original owner.
This includes all of the addresses belonging to Satoshi Nakamoto as well. Assuming that is the objective of this hard fork, it is one of the biggest threats to Bitcoin in history. There is no reason to claim inactive funds for ones own benefit whatsoever. Nor should this be made possible at the protocol level whatsoever.
Moreover, there are even more complaints regarding this project. The United Bitcoin fork seemingly requires users to use their existing BTC address. This also means the private keys of said address need to be imported into a third-party client. A very controversial development, as it inherently weakens use privacy. Then again, we all know Bitcoin lacks privacy and will continue to do so for some time to come. There is little reason to trust this hard fork in its current form, unless a proper explanation is given.
The bigger problem is how Jeff Garzik is allegedly associated with this project. It is unclear what the objective of this pet project is. Hardly anyone will trust United Bitcoin at this point, which is the only logical course of action. This is a very worrisome situation that may effectively bring Bitcoin to its knees if successful. We can only hope this fork is opposed by everyone before things really get out of hand.Read the full article http://www.livebitcoinnews.com/united-bitcoin-hard-fork-aims-steal-inactive-wallet-balances/

@boomboombazookajeff. I have never doubted smooth. But what Aeon has is a one man development team, so what can we expect from that? I reckon not too much.
In any case, maybe the donated funds should be used to hire an assistant for smooth. Is there a Monero developer who has too much time in his hands?

@purgs08. What kind of errors are you having? Give us the full details so we can help you. But from what you are saying, I reckon you are having a problem of compiling it from source.
What distribution of Linux are you using?

@nydiacaskey01. Conor knows how to be in the news headlines without fighting hehehe. True or not, he will use it to extend his notorious image and sell more tickets and PPV subscriptions in his upcoming fights.
Another conspiracy theory is he might use it to avoid fighting indefinitely until he and his family can make sure of their safety.
In any case, his next fights will surely be making a great deal of money for the UFC.

Do your friends annoy you now that they are interested in bitcoin? This is the exact opposite a year ago when I was the one trying to talk about bitcoin, but no one listened.
I now reckon that most people are sheep and they only start taking an interest in something because of what they see on TV or social media.

@americanpegasus, also known as katiecharms on Reddit has posted this on /r/aeon after it was confirmed that there was some group attacking Aeon by renting Amazon cloud servers and mining with them using Aeon-pool. The attack was stopped, but the Aeon community does not know those who are responsible for it. In any case, I have some suspicions on who they are. Try to guess who hehehe. Such an action, to rent such a massive amount of hashing power in the short term and point it at the largest pool doesn't ring anything but malicious. I'm wondering what their motives and ultimate intentions were.Read the full thread https://www.reddit.com/r/Aeon/comments/7ja0y4/aeon_was_under_attack_by_rented_amazon_cloud/

@overboost. Not a problem. But read my latest post above yours. So until we see LMDB implemented, then do not expect RingCT to be deployed.
But I reckon there is a reason for that. Smooth may have other plans for Aeon. He might be willing to sacrifice privacy for more portability on mobile devices.
@smooth. Care to comment?
|
|
|
No, deploying RingCT without deploying LMDB first would be a bad mistake. RingCT increases the block size, so RAM requirements of at least 8GB for nodes will only increase exponentially, which is not good.
I also assume that LMDB will be implemented together with the code rebase. That means the wait for RingCT will be longer than expected.

|
@CryptoBry. They really have no choice. They either need to adapt and make new laws to regulate the ICOs in the cryptospace, or stop it entirely which they know they cannot do. So I reckon they might choose the easier course hehehe.
|
|
|
@overboost. RingCT is still a long way out there as far as Aeon is concerned. Smooth needs to concern himself with the code rebase first and hopefully implement LMDB together with it.
In any case, the rebase will require thorough audits on the testnet. That would mean RingCT development will come after 2 to 3 years at the current workrate done on Aeon.
|
|
|
@boomboombazookajeff. Do not hope for the code rebase to come soon. I know I have told everyone these past weeks that it might be coming on January, 2018, but now, I do not reckon it will.
I also have come to realize that Aeon is nothing but a side project and at the low end of smooth's priorities. So as Aeon holders, we should convince him to use the donation funds to hire a developer to assist him.

If I was a good hypnotist I would steal all my patients' bitcoin passwords and all of their cryptocoin private keys then tell them, sorry, but I did not get anything from you, I can give you a refund.
Will this the new way of scamming the community hehehe? I reckon scammers can now hire a hypnotist and steal all kinds of information.

We do not know. Maybe there are whales pumping and dumping it for bitcoin. But can you make a better thread to start the conversation? Or maybe this is your way to make us aware of the pump hehe. I do not mean to insult you but it appears like you are.

@Lionidas. Cub Swanson to put Brian Ortega into retirement? Brian is a rising star and he is undefeated. In contrast, Cub is 34 years old and beginning to be in the ebb of his waning career. I reckon you read the situation wrong hehehe.
@eaLiTy. Maybe he was trolling?
