8781  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price correction btc 6-12 months on: February 04, 2021, 09:12:07 PM
I doubt we could use history from now on.
A lot of changes had happened.
Before there was no Paypal to buy bitcoin that easily.
Also, there are popular names that are joining the crypto industry. So demands could get higher anytime and the volatility will stay.
IMO, the correction already happened and we have a new bottom. I hope.
I hope that was the real bottom that we can get for this year although we're just on the 2nd month of the year. It is true that many changes have happened in the past and it's no longer the same as the old market of bitcoin that we have been with. FUD remains the same but they're mostly ignored anyway but the biggest players are the ones playing the market and manipulating it. And in PayPal, they've used bitcoin and said to be adopted it but each bitcoin bought on them, they're not real bitcoin because users can't withdraw it based on the opinion of what the other people have experienced.

And also consistency. They were consistent in keeping the number until it had it hit after a very long year of waiting. We will never know even if someone becomes consistent for 20 years, there's no assurance that they'll be hitting the jackpot.
Maybe when they were betting on that number, they just made it as a hobby and didn't expect that it will hit someday until it finally did.

I have to disagree here. Since the draw is randomized to the maximum extent possible, no matter whatever number you chose, the chance of winning per draw remains the same. For example, let's say that there is 1 in 100 million chance of winning a jackpot. If you are buying tickets continuously for 25 draws, then there is a chance of 25 per 100 million that you will win the jackpot at least once. This probability (25 per 100 million) remains the same whether you are sticking with the same number or you are opting for 25 different combinations.
It's okay if you disagree but I'm not tackling the results per se. It's just that they've been consistently betting on their favorite number that they've been keeping for years.
But you're right about the draw and its randomness, whether you have a number that's being kept, that wouldn't change the chances.
8783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Toronto women win jackpot lottery on: February 04, 2021, 11:16:31 AM
She and her husband took care of the number until it came out. I got no luck in the lottery and reading news like this, it's really once in a blue moon to win such amounts on it.
I've done many combinations but to no avail and I don't have that persistence and patience that this woman had shown. They just have to enjoy the money for the rest of their lives.

That is because of luck. If other people try what that woman does, I am not sure if they can also hit the jackpot in the future because that woman really has a big patient to use the same number for 20 years. It is hard to stick to one thing for a long time, but that woman proves to us that she can do it. I can't imagine how hard she does that thing and just waits without knowing if she can hit the jackpot someday.

They don't have to do anything besides enjoying the win money, and  I think they are now happy. Having persistence and patience will be important, but it is better to use them for the other jobs, to have a chance to make money.

Is there still some love for privacy coins cos no one seem to be taking about them anymore, how many of you guys are really using privacy coins for their real use case (anonymous) ? Do you invest in privacy coins for their use case or to make money out of them?
Yes, there's still a thing with privacy coins. You know why it makes the government remove them in exchanges makes it even worth to try, use and invest in them because they truly are private and you want to be anonymous online if you're conducting transactions.

Till date I have never use bitcoin mixer to hide my transactions cos I don't see any reason to do so, what about you?
I've used it, you must try it if you haven't.
8786  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Wag magpadalos dalos on: February 04, 2021, 09:21:26 AM
8787  Local / Pamilihan / Re: 5 Steps to Cash-in to Philstocks with Coins.ph on: February 04, 2021, 08:29:49 AM
HODL for blue chips hahaha. Sakto ngayon, medyo bumaba diba?
8788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are people still buying XRP? on: February 03, 2021, 11:32:49 PM
Even if it was FUD it is still a bet that the SEC will just fine XRP and that will be the end.
It is not a FUD but it is an actual lawsuit that the execs are facing plus the actual company too. I doubt that the SEC will have it settle and just take the fine with a penalty.
If you have an idea what did SEC has done to the other project companies before, they've really tracked them down and did almost the same without showing any settlement to them.
8789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 03, 2021, 11:01:17 PM
Brooklyn Nets played a home game against LA Clippers last night. Nets managed to beat Clippers 124-120 in this competitive game. Nets have a 6-win streak in their home games now. On Nets side, Irving got 39 points, 5 rebounds. KD got 28 points, 9 rebounds. Harden made another triple-double (23 points, 11 rebounds, 14 assists). On Clippers side, Kawhi got 33 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists. P. George 26 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists. N. Batum got 21 points, 6 rebounds.
Do you have the website where you get the summary of these stats? It will be helpful if you can share the link here. I'm interested in checking each game's stats but can't find it on the web, I only see the whole stats of players for the whole season. I want to check the per game. Thanks!

We have a lot of free website that provide a good stats, here are some of them.

https://www.covers.com/sports/nba/matchups?selectedDate=2021-02-02
https://www.sportsbookreview.com/betting-odds/
https://www.espn.com/nba/
Thanks, mate. I was browsing on NBA's official website but that's a different stats that I've been looking at. I'll save these websites for future references if someone will ask the same thing.
And for this time, I'll go check each of them. Thank you again for the help.

Oh man, I think I've heard of that technique way back in my childhood days. When someone dreams of numbers, she/he has to bet it to the lottery or any form of gambling because it might really win. The woman took 20 years for it to wait and it happened.
It's a win to them and that's plenty of money that can have it for the rest of their entire retirement.

A huge amount of money coming from the trust with the lucky number that they've got. This really common with those who are betting with lottery, thinking that a lucky combo is just there.

SOme used birthdays of important people or certain dates of important events that happened to their life, but looking to this story, it's  a long 20 years of waiting.

But the outcome is surely enjoyable, winning that huge amount of money makes your life changed
forever.
She and her husband took care of the number until it came out. I got no luck in the lottery and reading news like this, it's really once in a blue moon to win such amounts on it.

8792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH keep breaking record and what happened to BCH? on: February 03, 2021, 08:58:19 PM
and does anyone know what is going on with BCH? it's basically the only coin from the top ten lists that haven't raised and still remember when it always been higher than ETH, but now... Huh
It did rose quite a bit but not that a lot that it can take the attention of the community. I remember that these two were just par in prices during the bearish market. Don't expect a lot if you have bags on BCH.

I won't compare the potential of eth vs bch. Eth has active developments going on whereas I don't have idea if the BCH team is still active on this project. And remember, BCH is a forked coin. If you will select between ETH and BCH, better choose ETH as they have wide-ranging applications. I don't think BCH can catch up with eth in terms of price.
I don't also have any news about them if they have active development but it is still existing and so as their website does. I don't have to choose between ETH and BCH.
I own ETH and will never get to buy any amount of BCH, I don't like and the community doesn't even like it either for a very known reason.

And I'm happy because you could just easily access it with their app.

Another PBA veteran has retired.

Consummate TNT veteran Harvey Carey calls it a career
Quote
The soft-spoken Fil-Am was after all, a humble consummate teammate who was contented doing the blue-collar work in all of his 17-year playing career spent with the TNT franchise.
One of the best players that is very underrated. I remember him when I was still young watching PBA in 2005s I guess. A very good tandem with Alapag and one of the most versatile in TNT.

How many players have retired already? I can't remember anymore but it seems that what we saw was the effect of the pandemic.
Peter June Simon also retired last year. I still consider him as a young player or it is just the time flies so fast.
8799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: May-Pac 2, will it finally happen? on: February 02, 2021, 09:17:18 PM
I hope this fight will not happen, because Floyd Mayweather is such a tricky player, especially his elbows when he is in a pinch situation, what I mean is instead of using his fist, he choose to move his elbow and hit his opponents body in an angle that referee don't see. Also, I think all of his match are cooked, that's why I don't watch his matches, pretty boring to me.

But if this fight will happen in the future, I'll watch it because Manny Pacquiao is there.
That's what makes it interesting. I'm the same as you and pissed on Floyd but we need Pacquiao to take revenge on him and get a win at least before he retires.
The other annoying comments that I've read before is his footwork, many don't understand that and this is boxing. As long as it's not noticed by the referees as against the rules, they will just ignore it. If he had done that, there are other boxers who did it too.

I guess this is still relevant. What can you say about the recent news about Lebron James and that woman who has her husband got ejected in the courtside. The article includes the video of the woman mouthing on the courtside.
