Also mein Rat - Prioritäten ordnen!
882  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hal Finney: each coin a value of about $10 million prophecy on: October 19, 2023, 04:27:19 PM
It’s fun to think about all the things you would do if Bitcoin suddenly jumped to $10,000,000 overnight. However, that’s not how it happens. It will be a slow grind upward for years and very few if anyone holding now would still be sitting on BTC at the end of the ride. Most people here have already sold off mass amounts of BTC at significantly lower prices.

That is what I have often been saying, it is those who already have money who will most likely make a lot of money from Bitcoin as well as they don't need to sell during bull runs. I really applaud people who knew it would be smart for them to sell at maybe 1k USD because they bought at 100 USD, but then held through all the roller coasters until it hit new heights like 30k, 40k and then the ATH with over 60k. But really, who does that? If someone isn't rich but firmly believes in the technology and still holds despite Bitcoin having its crashes, that's some mental strength there! Wink
I suppose the only ones that could do that are the kind of people that not only have great mental strength but that also lead lives that allows them to get away with this, since a person that has a lot of responsibilities over their shoulders and debts to pay cannot really afford to do this even if they wanted, so only a very small minority of the people holding bitcoin today will be able to hold their coins until Hal’s prediction becomes true, or at least until we get close to it, however as long as you could obtain some benefits out of your bitcoin investment and you sold your coins for a good reason then there is no need to regret selling those coins at such low prices.

Regret is a difficult word here because on the one hand you are of course right that if you sold for a good reason and got some benefit out of it, it should all be good. But on the other hand I think some least amount of regret is unavoidable given that Bitcoin really has been a moonshot once in a lifetime investment that may never occur twice to most of us. I think this gives reason for some people to say to themselves that they do deeply wish they had not sold and instead endured some shortages for a bit longer. I know someone who owned 30,000 Bitcoin and sold them for $1 a piece to then buy a BMW Smiley I can tell you that he felt some regret when Bitcoin went 3 figures, then 4 figures and 5 figures eventually.

The problem is that I think too many people pull the hardcore trigger instead of selling only a fraction of their bag. Or they deviate from any upfront considered strategy, for reasons they consider to be right in that moment.

It's different from those people who check lottery numbers even when they didn't play in order to see whether they would have won if they played. That I think is a dumb move and I myself wouldn't do it, but if I did and I would have won, I would not feel regret. But when someone who was among the first miners and was passionate about the technology sells 30,000 Bitcoin to buy a BMW, I think there is a lot of reason to regret it later. Wink

But when we talk about people who can't really afford tens of Bitcoin, but instead put some of their savings into Bitcoin and then sell at a maybe 500% profit, there is really no reason to regret it because from a rational and also risk aversion point of view, selling something at 500% profit would be the right thing to do in 99.9% of the time. Bitcoin just proved to be very different from what most of us have ever seen and probably will ever see.

885  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: October 18, 2023, 10:17:27 PM

886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 18, 2023, 10:06:13 PM

I don't think the birthright claim of Munich on the bundesliga this season would really work that way as the league is becoming more competitive than usual with the current rise of teams like Leverkusen, Dortmund and Stuttgart, I don't think Munich will have it easy dominating and topping the league as usual and becoming the winners, I hope Leverkusen and Stuttgart is consistent enough to break this trend this season.
Well im not sure nor would i conclude that Bayern Munich would lose their dominance this season maybe cause of where they're currently on the standings, however i think the Bundesliga is becoming tougher currently and some clubs are now beginning to stand up to Bayern Munich not only Dortmun, if you noticed Bayern Munich almost lost their dominance to Dortmund last season luck was really on their side cause it was on the last day they managed to win and steal the title from Dortmund.

However this season the like of Leipzig, Stuttgart and most importanty Leverkusen are now standing up to Bayern, Leverkusen took everyone by suprise and are currently the league leaders, they've been dominating the league for a while before the international break and im pretty they'll their next match against Wolfsburg even though they're away from home.

I would not draw any conclusions even if temporary before the winter break of the Bundesliga. I have seen very often that after the early stage of the season it looked like some teams could stand up to Bayern, but the difference was that Bayern could increase their win rate while the other teams almost certainly were about to face a decline and have a loss or draw here and there. If there are a few teams with almost 100% win rate before the winter break, I am ready to think that there could be a chance for one of them this year. But I doubt it will happen if Bayern doesn't get unlucky with injuries. Kane is probably getting better over time once he is fully used to his new team.

Damn, I thought Ruud won't make the finals, but Zverev was already out so I picked him instead. Should have went with Tommy Paul.

I also swear to God that I wanted to go with Uruguay not losing - but it's the first round so I wanted to play it safe. Both of my 'secure' options backfired and I'm a goal down already, with still a lot of different answers to catch up though.

The funny thing is that my reasoning against you was precisely the same. I am really not someone who plays it all safe, but in this case I thought I'd rather go with what most would think to be the result. But this little part
Quote
H2H is looking atrocious
of your question made me think that risk would be too high to go with Uruguay. I thought they would have better stats against Brazil.

But what surprised me @cryptofrka is that you went with under 4.5 booking points because I didn't really check for it, but I was quite sure that these games tend to be very heated.

And of course how could it be any different... Neymar had to leave the pitch because of an injury. This guy...
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 18, 2023, 07:25:33 PM
Next season or maybe in the winter transfer which will open in a few months it looks like Liverpool will try to find alternatives as a replacement for Salah because I'm pretty sure with the SPL club they will definitely continue to try to bring in this player especially with some conditions that have previously occurred where they even bid several times it shows that they are serious about making Salah their target.
On the other hand though surely this will have an impact on Liverpool because Salah is a player who is still a fulcrum for Liverpool but I think with the money the club has from SPL and the salary that will eventually become a benchmark for Salah this could be a differentiator in transfer issues if the SPL club bids Salah not at an urgent time before the closing of the player transfer.

I am not sure if we will see any major changes during the winter transfer period as it's usually unlikely that you can buy some top talent as they are not available for sale. But there will definitely be talks about Salah as his contract will expire in 2025 and Liverpool either has the chance to sell him for a lot of money or they can convince him to extend his contract, but that will be expensive for them as well as Salah is well aware of his situation. Last season they could decline those offers because they knew that Salah still has two years of contract left, but I feel like Salah will leave Liverpool next summer.
Indeed, in this case all possibilities can still occur, it's just that when in the end Salah prefers the large salary offered by Al-Ittihad as before and Liverpool cannot force Salah to a new contract, the possibility of releasing at a high price (more than 100 million) is still possible for them and inevitably they have to find someone as a replacement for Salah because this will not be possible if the position is left empty.

Although things like this rarely happen in the winter transfer window but sometimes things like this are still possible if something unwanted in the middle of the season happens.
Because however any form of action taken will ultimately refer to the domino effect of Salah for Liverpool.

Yes but at least they can be sure to get a good transfer fee for Salah, which then puts them into a strong position for negotiations about other players with other clubs. Liverpool would not only be able to offer a good salary and also a high transfer fee, but they could also offer a new player to take the place of Salah in the club. The hard factors like money are no issue, but the soft factors like importance in the club and also for the fans can be very compelling for a player as well.

891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 17, 2023, 10:32:17 PM

I guess that there maybe one team that surprisingly wins the Bundesliga title, perhaps RB Leipzig or Bayer Leverkusen, but that would still not change that much for the league as a whole. I mean if Bayern Munich does not win the title for one year, it just means they will win it again one year later. It would still be miles away from having a seriously competitive group in the Bundesliga like they have in the Premier League or also in Italy where it would be impossible to predict the title winner for the next five years. Whereas in the Bundesliga I would say that at least 4 out 5 times Bayern Munich will win it. Their advantage is too big.

And this trend will gradually get the league to bore people because what are we  watching when in a way we know the end from the beginning, it will be very good and more interesting if another team could possibly get to win the title for the next two seasons that way we could have something to anticipate although it's seemingly possible this season that another wins the title.

Leverkusen and Leipzig are giving the hopes that they could possibly change the narrative a while with their performance so far but then it's still possible again as usual that by mid season Munich rise up again and start to dominate the whole league, the best contender would have been Dortmund if not for their consistent policy of selling off their good young talents, they should have by now built a formidable team who could win the League back to back without Munich wining the title often.

It is not a consistent policy of Dortmund to deliberately sell these great talents as soon as clubs like Manchester City or Real Madrid send in their offers. Dortmund has no choice but to sell them before they leave after their contract expires. Haaland would have never signed a contract with Dortmund if they didn't include the release clause into the contract. Dortmund is a league below these top clubs in terms of the salary that they can pay, but also public recognition. As far as I know they have made a record breaking offer for Bellingham to convince him of staying for a few more years, but what is the most likely result of any negotiation when at the same time Real Madrid is involved? There is no alternative for them but to let him go and make a lot of money. It's sometimes sad to see because think about all the world class players that Dortmund had to let go just over the last decade. They could be a brutal team now, but it is not how the market works. They either start winning a lot of titles and turn their own club into one of those highly prestigious brands or they will have to keep selling all the top talents that just use Dortmund as a preliminary stop before they take the next step to a world class club.

Well I've thought about this same thing, and the both teams you mentioned are currently performing well and are the only teams that's given Bayern Munich a tough time this season, one even won against them in a cup final before the season started, well Bayern Munich are still very strong contenders and the league is still fresh so there a possibility that they could attain the top place before the winter transfer window and even if they don't attain that before then, they’ll still manage to secure the trophy like they did last season I'm the final week of the tournament.

Well the Premier league is no doubt very competitive and I believe it's the most competitive league in the world currently, however I'm beginning to see a difference in the Bundesliga cause smaller clubs are now developing well and beginning to challenge Bayern Munich like Leipzig and Leverkusen are doing currently, they even almost lost the league to Dortmund last season and sooner the competition would get more tougher.

I would like to agree with you, but first of all the cup final hasn't been all that relevant. It was one of those games that were promising, but then the Bundesliga started and RB Leipzig had problems quite instantly. They have dropped 1/3 of all possible points and while some clubs are playing well and not have a single loss thus far like Leverkusen and Dortmund, I still am not under the impression that there is a club which could seriously challenge Bayern's supremacy in the Bundesliga. I would be necessary to keep going like Leverkusen does, but we have had this before that one club had several points advantage and then still lost it.

In a few weeks Bayern will against Dortmund in the Signal Iduna Park and that would be a game that I hope will make Bayern get their first loss. But until now they have tied the two most difficult games against Leverkusen and Leipzig and that makes it hard to believe that any of the others teams will be able to stop them.

So, Bard AI has helped me to earn 3 points in the latest Matchday:

It's not like Bard predicted the correct score. Bard predicted a 3-1 win for Bayern Munich in the FC Bayern Munich vs SC Freiburg, but since it said: "but it could be a close match", I predicted 4-1 and was right about the Goal Difference and therefore earned 3 points. I'm happy with the result, to be honest. Probably will be using Bard more for my future predictions. (I hope it's not against the rules).

I am totally sure that Bard won't give you an edge. It is as much rolling the dice as everyone else is who has a good grasp of the teams and the league. At best, I would say. I think knowing a league and knowing some of the minor details of every team already gives you an edge over the AI. This might change in the future, but not for now.

Next season we could add some accounts and operate them with AI and see what the results are at the end of the season. Could be worth a little experiment although I am quite sure what the outcome will be.

You are correct, it's this point Brad is pretty much useless for predicting the outcomes of the games. Bard is almost always predicts  2-1 in favour of the strongest team. It predicted 3-1 win for Bayern Munich in the FC Bayern Munich vs SC Freiburg, but it only happened once, and Bard wasn't correct in that case anyway. Maybe it's my prompt, but something makes it impossible to use Bard for making correct predictions. I will try with some other promts, though, but my hopes are not high.

I think it is because AI-systems don't have an information advantage and they probably also have issues with sources spreading false information. These AI-systems are also probabilistic, which means that any smallest deviation from the seemingly most likely outcome would make them be a bad system.

This table is outdated, but I still think it provides a decent overview of the total score distribution across several leagues. Interestingly though, the most common result is a 1-1 draw. But if AI then gathers some data and understands that there is a favorite and an underdog, it will just go with the 2-1 most of the time because it is the second most likely result for the years presented in that table.

I think it is still very far from gathering real-time data and then include it in the outputs. For example, what would a trained AS-system do if it learns that Kane and Sané will miss a game on short notice? It would be interesting if it corrects the total score one goal down or something like that. But all these are averages and really, I don't see the day coming when AI gets a 5-0 Stuttgart vs. Freiburg prediction right Tongue
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 17, 2023, 07:45:44 PM

Which would be indeed a bad decision to praise Leverkusen too early because as some of you may know, there is a reason that Leverkusen is called "Vice-Kusen" in Germany. They have had a time like 2 decades ago when they were the toughest competitor for Bayern Munich, but they literally finished 2nd in all competitions in a single year. I think it was the year when they lost the Champions League final against Real Madrid. I am a bit too lazy to check, but that's why they are called that way and I am sure they do not want to hear anything yet about title ambitions or anything that could distract them.

Well, I hope at least they are not going to do something like Dortmund. I really thought that the last season was the time when Bayern Munich was defeated after such a long time. But the way Dortmund betrayed almost everyone was really incredible.

This has been happening for a long time. The other clubs raise some hope that they will be able to defeat Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title. But in the end, it is Munich at the top of the table winning the Bundesliga title. Everybody is praising Bayer Leverkusen. But honestly, I am scared to praise them early because I have seen what can happen in the last 11 years.

I guess that there maybe one team that surprisingly wins the Bundesliga title, perhaps RB Leipzig or Bayer Leverkusen, but that would still not change that much for the league as a whole. I mean if Bayern Munich does not win the title for one year, it just means they will win it again one year later. Again a pretty interesting set of questions. Some are really a coin flip I guess. Will Bellingham score or not? It can't go on like that forever Tongue

Or the question whether Liverpool will score 3 or more goals by at least three different players. What can you rationalize there? I thought that the slim potential for an own goal is also still there and I assumed that this would also count as one of those "3 different players", is that correct?

Looking forward to the games now and best of luck @cryptofrka

Wink

ondition for Zidane to accept a job is that he can win the Champions League. There had been rumors that he may soon be coaching a smaller club, but I doubt that as he is not the coach who wants to waste time on first making players better for years until he himself can the finally compete for the titles. If he comes back, I think it would be Real Madrid with the prospects of having Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham and then maybe Haaland or Mbappe. I think that would be a team that could be a chance for him tempting enough to say yes one more time.

Zinedine Zidane has been waiting on an opportunity to take the manager job at France for some time. It has been his priority so far that's why he hasn't wanted to manage any other team. Deschamps still has a contract with France national team until 2026 though. Therefore I wonder whether Zidane would make a change in his plans.

Coming back to Real Madrid would of course be amazing. Ancelotti is about to sign for Brazil next summer so Real Madrid will be in search of a new manager. Maybe he could prefer to manage PSG as well in case Luis Enrique's time doesn't last long. But for now we don't know if he would think about any of these.

But the talk about Zidane and the French national team has been going on for so long and it never became clear whether Zidane is genuinely interested in becoming the coach or not. I think he is in a great position because he has this amazing reputation due to winning the Champions League three times in a row and he is not dependent financially on signing any contracts at the moment. He has all the freedom he needs to put himself in a perfect position for negotiations and that is what he is doing. He takes some time off when he feels like it and he knows he can return whenever he wants to. If he sees a chance to repeat a chapter with Real Madrid similar to when they won all those titles, I think it is possible that we will soon see him again in Madrid.
