Watched couple of interviews where in one of em he was clearly saying that girls shouldn't play cricket at all and he stopped his girls from playing cricket or any outdoor game in public (By giving them chaped -thappad) in private they can play and regarding Hindi tv serial, he apparently got angry because his girls imitating hindu traditions like people do in diwali, holi and starting saying Namaste etc.
---
He also mentioned this in his Book - His girls are not allowed to play cricket or any game in public-

I was going through the latest drama between Afridi and Kaneria. These allegations and counter-allegations are very damaging.. Both of them need to understand that although the quarrel is between them as individuals, the greater repercussions will be felt across the sporting community. Especially when they invoke religion and ethnicity, it can get out of control and result in unwanted consequences. My little piece of advice to Afridi would be to stay out of controversy, or else in the future if he wants to get some position with PCB or the ICC, then his pass comments may come back to bite him.

I believed Afridi is a very religious person and he puts his religion above everything else. so I don't think he's going to back out of anything that he wants to say but my up in of unwanted attention and problems. and I am quite sure that this thing is going to cause a lot of problems and a lot of controversy around Shahid Afridi.

Afridi is a good man - but his political believe are very strange. We fail to understand who he is trying to impress?
Recently it seems those who are siding the current important government are not siding the right people.

I am not sure why said Asians are involved in cricket. I think you meant South East Asian. I am not sure about other countries but in india people love to play and watch other games too such as badminton, wrestling, hockey and football. The government of India has also started promoting and encouraging other sports keeping in mind the Olympics. To an extent it has also started showing results. Cricket is still the most watched and played sports but slowly other sports have also started to get the same attention.

In 1.3 billion people few may be interested in badminton or hockey but majority are interested in cricket only that's the prime reason BCCI has 38 domestic cricket team.. In last summer olympic, India won only one gold medal so you can easily imagine how much interest 1.3 billion have in other sports.
I second with that - in Pakistan only one athlete participate in winter olympics. And there were 2 assistant with him, now you can realize how much interest Pakistani  have in other games. Only a few people have interest in other sports. cricket is the game which can be played with least investment that is one of the reason kids play cricket and then they get interested in cricket.
883  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Gas ban - A problem for Europe or suicide for Russia? on: May 12, 2022, 01:24:30 PM
Being a resident of India, I could say that here there is a lot of pressure on the government to get cheaper oil and gas. LPG and gasoline prices are at all time high, and the citizens are really unhappy about it. Russia is ready to sell crude oil to India at heavy discounts ($40 per barrel lower than the market rates). But transporting this much oil and gas from Russia to India is the biggest problem. There are not many supertankers available and even those available are hit by the sanctions and embargoes from the EU/US.

India is too good in deciding its foreign policy that best suits there national interest. India has good ties with both Russia and USA. Even in Ukraine war, India so far has manitained a neutral stance and that's something annoying for USA but still USA cant do anything since India is one of big powers of Asia region.
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are options to mine a profitable crypto on my computer. on: May 10, 2022, 05:47:58 PM
The question is, why MASS? Upon all the good altcoins out there why are people talking about buying MASS? I'd rather buy HEX instead, Algorand is there too, What about new smart contract out there like Saito?.

Yes thats a very good question and it generates more question like why HEX or Algorand? It will be more appropriate if you have come up with suggestion that why to mine these coins over MASS. Like one argument in favor of MASS is that it doesnt require expensive devices and need lots of energy.
885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MASS is profitable and Cheap to mine ... Here is why? on: May 10, 2022, 05:40:52 PM

I think what you said is also true because buying MASS at a very cheap price at this time will be more profitable than mining and waiting a long time to collect before selling everything into the market because mining takes a lot of time, while buying only takes time to upgrade price in the market.

How can you say buying from exchange is more profitable then mining this? There is no data available here that shows how much HDD it takes to mine certain amount of MASS. Mining is different strategy and you cant mix that with buying a coin from exchange. They two are entirely different things.
886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BOOM - First Self-Burning Cryptocurrency Based on Smart Contract on: May 10, 2022, 05:35:18 PM
If those who have bought in the last month or two and now have profited with BOOM, then it is better to sell now because take profit from the start is always better than having to wait long for higher profits because it is still not sure to come on BOOM.

In crypto or any trading market there nothing is clear, you sell one day and price goes to moon and vice verse. I do agree with your point that those who are struck in BOOM might have to wait for longer period of time now to exit this. Bitcoin is fully bearish now and as long as bitcoin is bearish there are no chances of BOOM getting bullish.
887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 09, 2022, 10:11:39 AM

It's not that hard to understand. Cricket is not an Olympic sports and that's why these nations are not interested. Other sports understand the value of Olympics and that is why they tried hard to get them included. FIFA is ten times richer when compared to the ICC, and the same can be said about FIBA as well. But these sports bodies have pushed really hard to include their respective sports in Olympics. Because they understand that in the long term, the popularity will increase and monetary rewards will follow. But in case of ICC, they are interested only in short term benefits.

TBH ICC revolves in the hands of big 3 and its best in interests of big 3 that cricket remain limited to 10 countries. So that monopoly of big 3 remains intact. For going to Olympics, icc need certain amount of representation from every continent. Forget about cricket inclusion in Olympics, let's hope WC of cricket may include 15 to 20 teams.

Danish Kaneria is using religious card to get fame, he has played 61 tests from Pakistan and is one of the highest spinner wicket taker. Ever since he is banned by ECB in 2012 for his role in match fixing , he is continuously saying that he is not recognized by PCB because of his religion. To me these are cheap tactics, though Afridi is also of same class.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 09, 2022, 10:03:30 AM

I don't even know when I watched an ODI match for the last time. Nowadays IPL is going on, and before that it was the T20 World Cup in 2021. Fans are rapidly losing their interest in bilateral series. In most cases, the matches are one-sided and in case of test matches the host nations are preparing horrible tracks in order to get the advantage (examples are Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan in the last few months). Now we are so used to T20 format, that a match that takes 7 hours to complete sounds too long for us.

The generation who started watching or playing cricket after 2010 like only T20, for them test and ODI is a horrible thing.  Test and odi are limited to bilateral series only, while T20 is in leagues and also in ICC T20 WC. But test and odi is necessary since you can get solid batsmen or bowler only through this format.

MI and KKR
KKR and MI both teams have meager wins, and both do not seem to be in good shape this year. In today’s match, KKR should win since their points at point table is not good as others and with today’s win team should manage themselves to put their best foot forward who knows they might have future matches being to their side and also help them get to increase their points at the point table.

MI is already out of IPL 2022 after straight 8 losses. KKR chances of reaching next round are also very low since they are at number 9 at the moment. I don't think outcome of today's match is important for any team in terms of making it to next round. Both teams playing to get points to better there position.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 08, 2022, 06:37:14 PM
The two teams that batted first posted a total on board and the team chasing struggled in both the matches. Moving forward i am expecting this to be the theme as the pitch might be slowing down and it is difficult to bat in the second innings. I hope they will make a pitch that is much better in the quarter final as both teams get equal opportunity irrespective of the pitch condition.

RCB made 192 while CSk made 208 after they bat first. I don't think pitch has something to do with this, no matter what conditions are such total is very hard to chase. Pitch is very much same for both teams and I don't think there is much wear and tear in the pitch in 20 overs.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 08, 2022, 06:32:45 PM

There are only 4 teams that are competitive in test format. When a lower ranking test side such as Sri Lanka or Bangladesh plays against one of the big-4 sides, it almost always result in a mismatch. And the less talked about the associates, that better. 1-2 decades back, this was not the case. Even teams such as South Africa and West Indies used to be very competitive in this format. They had players who are tailor-made for test format such as Hashim Amla, Dale Steyn and Shivnarine Chanderpaul. We no longer get to watch any such players outside the Big-4 nowadays.

You were referring to post T20 era, yes at that time test and odi was what cricket is all about. Players were made from scratch for test. Now T20 is what cricket is about and sadly in T20 there is no technique. Its all about your luck in T20, thats why players like Hardik Pandya are so successful in T20.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 08, 2022, 06:00:35 PM
RCB is now one step closer to the next stage. They have 14 points after today's win. SRH had an excellent start to this season, but now they have lost 4 matches on the trot. Today's second match is going to be interesting as well (the one between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals). I don't think that now it is possible for Chennai Super Kings to qualify for the next stage, but Delhi still has a chance. As things stand, the 4 teams having most probability to advance to the knockout phase are - Lucknow, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Bangalore.

RCB won today despite kohli poor form and CSK got another win today. CSK are having a good time ever since Dohni took over captaincy. DC still have fair chances to qualify for next round but they need to win upcoming  matches. Such 91 runs defeat against weak teams like CSK won't help them.
894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CATA]Flow | NFT | Middleware | Decentralized Cloud Storage on: May 08, 2022, 11:21:21 AM
The idea of making a "one stop storage solution for NFT" at this point is best thing about this project. Right now NFTs are at full boom and new NFTs are launching every day. With such growing pace of NFT the demand for decentralized storage space is also coming up. I am amused to know that we don't have any decentralized storage space till now.
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC halving party is over, MASS PoC takes you back to ten years ago on: May 08, 2022, 11:16:15 AM
The subject of this thread is very true, BTC halving party is over for those who are not willing to understand how this market works. While MASS PoC is a good addition, it certainly failed to take off as a coin. See the price of MASS, its trend is only in down word direction for almost more then 6 month. Thats something not encouraging for new investors.
896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are options to mine a profitable crypto on my computer. on: May 08, 2022, 11:07:37 AM

Lots of us make this mistake of not investing in coin when its down and out rather we invest in coin when its at its peak. So if you are thinking to invest in any coin then invest it when its at its bottom not when it going up. Rest do your own research before you invest in any coin.

Please dont make mistake of investing in MASS now, its very much down and out. Your investment may struck for months since no news or update is available about this project. MASS was good for investment in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, its price is just going down and down only. I am not very hopeful about this coin.
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 08, 2022, 09:59:55 AM
It looks like people from the south asia are dominating the cricket around the world countries. Cricket as a sport isn't much recognised in the western nations, other than the few countries. This is the reason why Asian players are found much on the new teams. We can't say local natives weren't there. Every team have got good number of natives and rest were from the Asian parts.

We can say more players were of south Asian origin then native in associate teams. Even we can see players of south Asian origin in teams of Australia, South Africa and England. The UK 100 years of rule here in south asia has promoted cricket so much here that its now impossible to think about cricket without south asia.

I remember he got trolled on social media for his male chauvinistic approach. This was in the year 2019 and I was able to find that video, you can check it here. Shahid Afridi might be a good player but if he becomes a politician then he will most probably ban female cricketers in Pakistan.

He wont do that, you can see her daughters now roaming across the world watching Pakistan team matches and chanting for Shaheen shah Afridi. Shaheen is very decent guy compared to what Shahid afridi was in his early 20s. As far stats of shahid afridi are concerned they are terrible, just have a look here
899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MASS] Decentralized HARD DRIVE mining cryptocurrency | PoC | Low Energy cost on: May 07, 2022, 06:40:57 PM

Its just a matter of time before its get adopted by few corporate and the price of token will go up. You are right that MASS is not a shit or gambling token rather it has lots of utilites. Just wait for few more days and see whether corporates are adopting it or not before making ur final decision.

Shit coins have very short duration of life and MASS has been there for sometimes now (over two years old now). MASS has every positive indicator with it that a coin can have. MASS has not released any such data that its adopted by some big corporate otherwise it will be a big hit for MASS in that case.

May be that is the way ICC is planning to introduce Cricket in a big way to the US fans. It is not even a popular sport in the US but they might be having some kind of plans to attract the fans. They get the media attention if the tournament is conducted and major news network will be airing them, other than that the gate will be empty and the ICC might be planning that they get the required number with broadcasting rights.

In usa there is huge number of migrants from South Asia and they made up mostly of the USA national team. In most of countries native people are not much interested in cricket but only migrants from South Asia are take example of UAE, Oman, Germany, Canada. ICC need to do some serious efforts to promote people among native.
