881  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't be deceived!! on: January 20, 2024, 09:21:08 PM
As the cherry on top, every now and then, there's an altcoin which shoots up in price ridiculously over a very short period of time. This is most likely manipulated and it motivates more people to store up as many shitcoins as possible, 'afterall, they are only a few cents each and could be worth thousands in the future'.

More of this would happen as the general cryptocurrency market begins to turn bullish and fomo sets in.
These altcoins shoot up because of the steady manipulation that's been done on them by the owners of these projects so as to enrich themselves and I know this is just the beginning of such projects and lots more will fill up the market and I pity some crypto enthusiast that would actually buy or mine them because if you are careful you would be at the losing end when these projects starts dumping and you yourself fail to sell off because alot of persons will fall Because of the rate at which crypto lovers will be scavenging for different coins that could enrich their pockets.
882  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Wolf.bet not paying out winnings (at the moment) on: January 20, 2024, 08:55:29 PM
Hello, I played at wolf.bet last night, making a small deposit, in ltc.
I won the equivalent of 1050 dollars regularly, I requested a withdrawal 21 hours ago but at first they told me that it would take a maximum of 24 hours, now speaking in chat with one of their representatives they tell me that it will take longer because they have to check carefully whether did I cheat or not. do you have experience with this casino? do they always do this? will they pay or are they a scam casino?

thanks in advance
They are scammers. Those are the things I don't like in casinos, someone would deposit money without any problem and start staking and after playing games, he won and when it is time to withdraw them story upon story what nonsense is that. Op if I will tell you a best and reliable casino to have your funds is BC Game. In BC.Game you don't have to pass through all that. Once you win and ask for withdraw, your money will straight to your wallet without questions. If you obey the rule then there is nothing to worry about. You can use bc.game to have fun in the gambling industry.

It is only scam casinos ask those questions like wolf.bet. But legit casinos are not like that.
Well I don't think you are familiar with lots of casino that much, well I understand that this particular feeling is very irritating and annoying especially when the deposit doesn't require much checking but the withdrawal takes alot of time but still it's all part of the process as even the big and reputable casino do this especially crypto casino. Before ever depositing your fund in the first place you could have made good  research about the casino before depositing your funds.

Jumping to call the casino a scam  sites isn't really the best thing and seeing that the casino is still working and checking your profile is  good because you don't know what's the issue or if the fault is from your end.
883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 20, 2024, 08:39:01 PM
My friends aunty called him on the call while we were conversing today, and  she was complaining about how her son has withdrawn #20,000 approximately $15 from her account through mobile transfer to play bet and he lost it all.
She complained bitterly and pitifully because she struggled to safe such amount of money.

Now, the mum is calling on everyone she could to intervene, discipline the child and force him to provide the money in any means he can without the concern of how he could refund the money.

Question: would she be so disheartened and mad as this if the son had won the bet on a multi million price?
Dear fellows, let's assume you are the mom, what would be your state of mind on this context?
Well I think you already know the answer to this question, I mean it's obvious that she would ofcourse be delighted if the son came home with billions or millions of naira if the child told her the winning before telling her he stole the money but all the same the chances of the boy winning was against him and beside you don't have the right to gamble with people money because the money isn't yours even if it's from your mother, that's calling stealing.

Wel I know the society am staying will surely do something about this boy although I don't know why and what the parents are doing that it got so bad that the boy got this worse and collects money from her account.
884  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bull run begun ? on: January 20, 2024, 08:29:29 PM
I think the bull market began when we first heard about this Blackrock ETF. Right now I wouldn’t say it’s beginning. Maybe we are in the middle of it or even towards the end.

Keep in mind that many are expecting the etf approval to be an sell the news event just like the previous bitcoin futures, coinbase ICOs and bitcoin futures etf. And that is if it’s approved. This Wednesday it’s possible the Ark etf might get rejected and next week all those etfs might get delayed. If this happens we might visit $30K area fairly quickly.
ETF this ETF that, well they have approved the ETF and yet the much expected explosion on the price is still looking to trek as it's been doing for some time now, I think the news about the ETF actually made the big price jump we expected but the actual approval isn't actually doing anything, well that's from my opinion because I think the SEC already got what they wanted which is suspense that it going to be approved or not.
885  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: After halving, waiting be the sign on: January 20, 2024, 08:25:06 PM
After halving happen we know say e dey always take some times before bull run which is unpredictable to some extent, but at then waiting be early sign the market wan start the bull run.
Make una talk from experience, make people learn because me know say some people fit keep mind for early 2025 make the thing go happen b4 then or after that time.

After Bitcoin halving, the block reward for miners go become half, i.e from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC. The law of supply and demand go come take effect, as the supply reduce and the demand go increase, this go help to drive the price up. When we enter bull season, dem no go announce am for news lol. Na from the market you go know, the market go turn green, the price of bitcoin go shoot up and other altcoins like ETH, SOL, BNB, XMR, XRP etc. go follow experience price surge.
My brother no be small, because no body go announce for anywhere say the bull run don start but the wave wey e go cause for the crypto market nai you go take no say the bull season don reach because the price of Bitcoin fit jump go up well well and this na the reason wey dem dey always advice now to start the hoarding process because when the price rise their is high possible say e fit even touch 100k so if you plan well from now the next bull fit be of better benefit to you well well.
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong perspective towards Bitcoin investment on: January 20, 2024, 03:46:54 PM
How can we be so sure that you are telling the truth and that this is not self made up story?

If someone is not careful of scammers, crypto scammer are easy to locate someone. When I was new to crypto, I saw many cloud mining services but users on this forum helped me to know that they are scammers.

In crypto, it is good to be careful and avoid scam.
Hmm, I thought I was the only one that actually tried this online mining apps although it was due to the lack of knowledge that I was very vivacious when it comes to mining on these apps and just like you, it wasn't long before all that thought was cleared from my head when seniors here explained and brought insight to me about this stuffs although most of the knowledge i read it from other people's thread as I engaged and enjoy reading discussion about this stuffs.

Being a newbie exposes you to many crypto scams so carefulness and your dedication to learn more is the only thing that can actually guide you out the claws of these crypto scammers .
887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin an opportunity like land on: January 20, 2024, 03:41:30 PM
I am from India and being in a country that has the biggest population in the world I can relate to your topic. What I do not understand is your comparison of land with Bitcoin the reason being land is physical and Bitcoin is virtual. Buying land has more obligations than buying Bitcoin as you would need to go through multiple paperwork. The next issue is that the land is governed by the government ruling that land whereas Bitcoin is decentralized. Comparing Bitcoin with land based on its price does not fit as Bitcoin has many more positive aspects than a piece of land. While I agree that both the price of land and Bitcoin are unstoppable, understand this Bitcoin is responsible for everyone being aware of an ecosystem that is decentralized while land is a centralized entity and its price is controlled by the government.
I think the OP is just trying to evaluate on the important of the assets giving you major profits in the future and nothing more. It's true that land and Bitcoin are two different things entirely as one is digital and the other is physical but that's not the point of the thread, am from Nigeria too and I can relate well to what the OP is saying, land purchase has been a major game changer for citizens here in my country as it's yield huge profits because the land actually grow in value overtime just similar to the way Bitcoin has gotten so much value since from the time of its creation.

Myself I can testify to this because I also involved myself in the opportunity of getting a piece of land in an area not too developed some years back having the faith on it bringing me good returns in the future like the way most Bitcoin enthusiast HODLs their coins and I was not wrong also and if not for the fact that I build on that land the price tag on it was 5x the original amount I used in acquiring that piece of land.
888  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Crypto Trading Risks and Management Model. on: January 19, 2024, 09:12:01 PM
There is no investment that is totally risk free, likewise there is no investment that feature only gains

Therefore, as a crypto investor, have it at the back of your mind that , there might be losses or gains.

But then there are principles to apply as investment risk management for every professional investor.

1. Identification of possible investment: Here the investmentor must think through the business and the risks that might be likely faced such as fall in prices, scam schemes or delayed disbursement and other related problems.

2. Analysing of possible investment: A professional investor must analyse the possible or suspected risks of investment in that particular business. It is a practice of trying to foresee the possible losses or gains.

3. The investor must plan down possible risk control mechanisms to prepare the groups for possible updates.

4. Then finance the business: In financing business, the capital must be within the dictates of the risks foreseen. In this way, there will be minimum losses.
I don't know if you are talking about people who actually invest in altcoins or Bitcoin because I believe with an investment on Bitcoin the risk involved is far way lesser than when you actually put your money on other crypto coins. Most crypto enthusiast today have understood this and still yet many have not being able to invest as they tend trade it by themselves and get the quick money but there is huge risk involved which is far more just buying crypto (Bitcoin,) and just holding
889  Economy / Economics / Re: The savings problem on: January 18, 2024, 11:36:58 AM
Decades ago, when the purchasing power of the US dollar was decent and the inflation levels were relatively low, the people used to save money in the bank. Nowadays, putting money in the bank and waiting for interest doesn't work anymore. The people are seeking for other ways to save and invest money-real estate, investment funds, hedge funds, crypto, etc. This increases the overall risk, but it also brings higher returns.
Anyway, the money printing machine of the Federal Reserve should be blamed for all this. We just have to wait for the fiat financial system to collapse completely, before the alternative rises from the ashes. By the way, I don't believe that the alternative will be Bitcoin or crypto. Sad
Wow this is interesting, you don't believe that the alternative is crypto or Bitcoin, well I think I will take it as a joke because if you are serious then I think you are still sleeping. I know the whole process of one system taking over the other is really strong so I believe it would rather be a co-existence between the two financial system and time is the only factor pending that to happen although from my view of things I actually think it's already started happening just that it's rather on a low scale.
890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to manage gambling winnings on: January 18, 2024, 11:12:41 AM
If you want to enjoy the win properly you can't be greedy after the win you have to withdraw your money the loss will be less here. Not everyone can save their account properly. If you leave it and hope for a big win then there is a possibility of losing everything again. That's why you should be safe with limited wins rather than big wins. There are many gamblers who don't want to understand these rules so they are far behind in winning.
The truth is that they always have something else in their mind after the big win they initially grave for and that's where it all goes wrong because after hitting a good run in gambling the next thing to do is to improve in your skills and that's knowing that you need to stop and take profits because there will always be a turn of things and most times it actually not in favor of you rather it favours the house and leave you pondering in regrets of hadn't taken the first win. Many gamblers think that you can actually win and win without experiencing losing and that's a very big fat lie.
891  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Patience is not enough for hodling Bitcoin on: January 18, 2024, 10:59:18 AM
I have come to realise that what is stopping some people from hodling Bitcoin is not because they do not have patience to stick to their investment. Having a source of income is the only way people can exercise patience to invest bitcoin.  It is not possible for one who is hungry and has bitcoin in the wallet and would not want to sell the bitcoin to quench the hunger.

While planning to invest in bitcoin people needs consider to have a steady flow of income , if this is not available no amount of patience can be able to make hodling to take place. When their is a flow of money one can always look on to for survival and to solve financial problems this is when we can now talk about having patience to hodl bitcoin to gain profit. It something that result to the lack of patience,  it can hunger or meeting up the daily needs,  if this can be solved it is easy in hodling Bitcoin.
E just be like this popular saying which goes na person wey don chop na dey save money or invest. The importance of having a steady income flow is overwhelming overlooked by the trooping number of amateur and newbie investor who are only triggered by the positive view of getting to save your money in Bitcoin but they fail to understand that Saving or investing in something is not as easy as it sounds, there is lots of discipline and numerous factor to it and if you are not well prepared then I could boldly say you are just fucking wasting your time.
892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as P2P currency vs Bitcoin as an asset on: January 18, 2024, 10:43:10 AM
Unlike before, if I want to send money to someone that is not in my country, I have no option than to use fiat which can be very slow and of high fee. Although bitcoin fee right now is also high but I can send it to the person aboard which would be very fast. If I want to make an foreign online payment, my country is allowed to pay but the bank is declining the transaction. I used bitcoin for the payment. There are times that fiat will fail someone as it is centrally controlled. But I still use fiat for making payments, especially locally which is fast and cheap.. Locally, I see no reason to use bitcoin.

Most of my transactions are local transactions. I use fiat for local transactions. Most of my transactions are local transactions. This always still makes me see bitcoin more as an investment. I have bitcoin because I invested in it. But sometimes I use it for payment. But what I noticed is that people use bitcoin to hedge against inflation and also as an investment, than to be used for P2P transaction. But we should still know that if you use bitcoin for investment, that is not affecting its purpose for P2P transactions.
Your explanation is exactly my base of action with Bitcoin too, and to say the truth I think all Bitcoin are really interested in Bitcoin because of its store of value ability, I mean why would anyone choose fiat to save when there is Bitcoin which can guarantee you profits when the inflation has eaten up the world although you using your Bitcoin doesn't mean you have escaped the inflation in terms price variation on commodity but atleast you will be moving with it as the value of your Bitcoin will aslo possibly increase with it so the effect won't be felt that much.

And for the case of it as means of transaction, I think that the best and good reason to transact with Bitcoin especially in a region like mine when most international transaction seem to be charge huge amount by bank and only the procedure involved will get you tired so using a less stressful means like Bitcoin is a perfect example.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING DISORDER on: January 18, 2024, 10:01:47 AM
How can one control the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes on once life.

It's getting worse every day. I'm extremely depressed I have thoughts of unaliving myself more often, some times I feel the betting companies manipulate people spiritually to get them addicted where be playing without plans and strategy. Once a bet place get cut, there is this uncomfortable urge to quickly book another one with the plans of recovering the first money lost but it will end up cutting again.
I think you are the only one that can actually solve your addiction problem because with what you have explained it's very clear that you are addicted but on lower scale and lever but believe me if you continue it actually grows more worse so what I will advise you to actually stop the act by looking for activities that can fill up that space or void created by the betting habit, or better still be sincere to yourself and take a very bold decision and never look at back and be disciplined to yourself.
894  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why people dey fear to invest in Bitcoin and crypto? on: January 17, 2024, 05:56:27 PM
Many people just get this belief say since nah wetin concern internet them no fit do anything called investment, unknowing to them that is the best place to invest on.
Even my uncle's saw it as a scamming thing, but they never knew it's the best place you can save any amount of your income in life.
And still have access to your money at anytime you need  access to your investment. You all should invest online and see how your life will change for good.
The way I see not everyone is supposed to have an investment in crypto or Bitcoin, I mean c'mon that's the circle of life everybody must make it through your particular way that you deem worthy and good some people are meant to blinded by their ignorance about certain opportunity. Whether you like it or not that's just the sequence of life and so whenever I see people doing or reacting to some opportunity am trying to reach out to them, I simply just think that's how it's supposed to be because you can't be stressing on someone who has already had his thought without even getting to test out the thing you are showing him.
895  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Patience is power on: January 17, 2024, 05:36:32 PM
Initially before this forum , I was active in trading crypto which sometimes my analysis will enter for me and I will make some money and at a point the phobia of loss enveloped my thought and I stopped trading crypto because of series of losses but when I joined the forum ( bitcointalk) I read a thread that talked about patience and that all the newbies should Hodl coins instead of trading and that they should go through what the high ranked members post before making their own post and after going through series of threads I decided to read as much as I can and to hodl as much as I can and now all my technical analysis are going towards my direction and the chances of loss has reduced however, I thank all the High ranked members for their advice and at same time ,I urge all the newbies to be patient enough to read more post before posting .
Glad you now know that trading your coins for extra profits is very risky and I doubt that since you have traded the profits would be greater than your loses, the loses is always bigger and that's why I don't like trading that much, I have seen people claim that trading is good if you are an expert but the truth is that the ratio of uncertainty is very high and that's why practically having a peace of mind and saving your coins will always be better than gambling your precious coins for some temporary profits that if care is not taking will still lose it back in a bad day of your trading session.
896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't only pray for mass adoption, start HODLING!! on: January 17, 2024, 05:30:11 PM
We still need both ways: circulation and holding. The former one keeps the liquidity pool active and there is enough volume for us to work with daily transactions. This could be from exchanging Bitcoins to selling or buying them directly on an exchanger or from peer. The later one is needed so that there will be resistance pressure building everywhere. You see the game of financials run with these two parameters. If not then ecosystem of Bitcoin can crumble real bad. Imagine if no one is holding then Bitcoin being publicly active might just not become resistant due to its high volatility. So at some point we need that pressure for sure. If they are holding then thats good. If they are transacting then its better too.
That's very correct, it's all like a circle of balance that's need to be implaced, the two parties needs to be active in buying, selling and also holding to keep the whole ecosystem stable. It's just like the demand and supply chain, the two needs to be there for things to go smoothly. And that's why the people that transact with Bitcoin daily and those that hold are all of great importance for the survival and for Bitcoin staying at the top of the market rate .
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you pay attention on other people bet and it amount, and does it affect you? on: January 17, 2024, 05:24:31 PM
Yesterday, when I was playing Crash, I have caught myself thinking that I watch on how much people bet, how much they won and lose. First I have felt envy, when I saw one guy bet 200-300 bucks all the time for half and hour and cashed out with 2+ multiplier. Among bets in range of 1 sat to a dollar, he was really standing out. Then I have noticed a guy who was betting a dollar and did not cash out until rocket passes 10x. I was also amazed how a guy bet 1k, and lost it when the rocket banged at 1.00x, then he immediately made another 1k bet and the rocket banged at 1.03x. Then I saw him winning +5k bucks.

That is how the idea of this topic appeared. I watch others gamble, I watch how the bet, I start to think about betting more than usually. Do you have such feeling also? Do you have a feeling that if others make large bets, that you also must bet large, otherwise you would feel like uncomfortable, or feel like a poor among rich, or something of that kind.
Funny but that's the truth with me also, especially when I see the rate and money being used to gamble on the bc.game aviator crash game. My first time playing on the bc.game site I was amazed at the money that people can actually use to gamble to the extent that I felt that the money am seeing is actually a fixed money to make users actually get jealous and increase their stake. People were using huge some of cash and also crypto to gamble and it made me feel somehow and also made wanted to increase mine but had to keep to rate to avoid story that touches.
898  Economy / Reputation / Re: Farewell on: January 17, 2024, 12:56:03 PM
Without giving away too much personal info, I have a chronic disease. I've had this disease for a decade and have had a lot of treatment for it, but it is winning. I likely only have a few months left. And so, I bid you all farewell. I'll be spending as much of my remaining time as possible with my family. In a week or two, once this thread has run its course, I'll ask theymos to lock this account.

I have learnt a lot from many of you, and I hope many of you have learnt something from me. Although we will never meet, I would have loved to share a beer with many of you, and I hope you'll remember me fondly.

Leo

Woah 😱😱 this is really sad to hear, the community will definitely miss you and your advancement in their field of knowledge. I would have also love to have a couple of bear with you if possible but it's seem the chances of it happening is too slime. Do enjoy your time with your family and hope you do win the battle maybe through a miraculous way, there is nothing impossible to happen if you have faith.
899  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sports betting arbitrage on: January 16, 2024, 06:56:26 PM
Sports betting arbitrage is a strategy in which a player takes advantage of discrepancies in the odds offered by sportbetting sites to obtain profit. Have any of you tried to make money this way? what difficulties did you encounter? What bookmakers did you use? Have any of you had problems with bookmakers because of this? Why does it bother them anyway?
Is like this topic is becoming a regular on the gambling board and I think I seen a few of this particular type of thread talking about arbitrage betting and it's getting to look really absurd whenever I see this topic. But am curious about one thing though which is about the legality of this particular arbitrage betting because I have come to the understanding that this is exactly welcome by many betting site and I believe if you are caught your winning will be confiscated and account even restricted.

Fintech banks carry innovation enter our banking system so our existing banks dem no get choice but to sit up and give us better services. Almost everybody wey get bank account don add am with one of di Fintech banks because of dem efficient services, so dis one don make transactions for our normal banks come de reduce, so dem no get choice but to give quick and efficient services too like the Fintech banks.

Dis na why competition de very good for every industry, some go add value for them services and grab oda competitors customers, e go come compel all odas to sit up and give excellent services to gain dem customers back and win new ones.
That's true my brother, maybe they felt too relax and moreover the complaint from Nigerians about poor service pave way for this wonderful innovation by Finn tech and ever since the commercial bank have definitely seen the tole of the reduction in Nigerians using their service and when their is competition their is always room for upgrade and improvement and that's what they certainly been doing this past years.
