881  Economy / Economics / Re: Have $20 worth of bitcoin, how to earn more with it? on: July 02, 2016, 03:49:49 AM
with $20 is not much choice, but there may be several ways such as trade altcoins or gambling.

Gambling is not a way of earning coins, it is a means of losing coins.
The best way is to just hold on to your coins.  Smiley
882  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoins safe? on: July 02, 2016, 03:37:08 AM
Moreover if you have a 2 factor authentication then you even can sleep by having your laptop opened throughout the night. I think online wallets with 2-FA are the safest ones and better than offline ones.

It is possible that your password as well as your email get compromised. I can sleep tight only because a thief would have to open a bank safe to get my bitcoins.
883  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: June 26, 2016, 12:41:40 PM
yesterday the price touched $ 550 back. I've been giving a warning to people to purchase bitcoin. because it will provide a great advantage because this is the time to buy before prices go up. so do not waste it when prices go down.
I agree that price will start to increase till the halving and if one person buys some bitcoin they will take advantage of increasing price soon.
yeah no matter small or big profit. because we had not noticed it. that may happen is that prices will rise when halving. either high or moderate. The most important. You must have the courage to take risks and take this good opportunity dude Cheesy

1 BTC is a good experiment in the future, overtime you will not notice that you are risking any amount because that is just immaterial for long term investment. I still believe that the price will rise accordingly in the future but to how much I am not certain.
Exactly, 1 BTC would not take you anywhere even after 20 years. In my opinion if we have a good BTC to hold in the future the better, we should not waste the time and should take the opportunity given to us, know how to risk to prosper.

20 years is a long, long time.
If somebody manages to hold on to 1 BTC for that long, it would be either high enough to retire or worth nothing.
20 years is 5 block reward halvings.  Grin

Mendis played a good innings , but SL are in trouble . Loosing their wickets at bad time . England are once again on top of SL .

My bet ( LIVE ) SL to score more than 225 runs . Lets see how far Chandimal goes .

225 looks like it is done. Sri Lanka are at 215/6 with more than 5 overs to go.
They don't have too many wickets, but they will be looking at around 260.
885  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin have lost more than $100 in a day... on: June 26, 2016, 11:32:52 AM
With Bitcoin, people should not be surprised by $100 gains (Or $100 losses).
It is all part of the game. Strengthen your hands to take such volatility.
886  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: June 26, 2016, 11:31:39 AM
Eh i think the best investment strategy is to grind it up from a faucet then use that btc from that small amount to grow it, i really dont like to invest a big amount of money into the btc investments but i do like to play btc as the stock it is and not like and investment on and investment.

Grinding it from a faucet is not investment, it is earning.  Smiley
But what do you with the bitcoins you obtain from faucet? How do you grow it?
887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 25, 2016, 11:02:29 AM
English players totally out class Sri Lankan team.Sri Lanka was never so helpless like last night's match. They didn't succeed to break through the opening partnership. At start I was not sure England will win this way.But After what both batsmen made 50s I was convinced they will make 100s for England. This was best match I ever saw.

10 wicket victory with 15 overs to spare.
Nobody would have dreamed of such a comprehensive victory.  Smiley
888  Economy / Speculation / Re: how much gonna be 1 BTC in a year? on: June 25, 2016, 10:59:39 AM
With such a nice future the bitcoin can easily reach the 1k and stay there I will if the bitcoin stays rising like this there is a chance this will happen in about a year.

I think the price of bitcoin could be between $1000 to $1500 within 12 months if there is no major disaster.

i am pretty sure in no any disaster will occur in the field of bitcoin the developers are trying their best to make bitcoin a more safe currency of the world.

I hope that it would be $1000 because of the halving

The halving is going to change btc most likely for the better.

The OP was made in April 2016.
By April 2017, the hype around the halving would have died down and we would know what is the true impact of the new supply of bitcoins reducing.
889  Economy / Economics / Re: News of Brexit - What good or bad for cryptocurrency ? on: June 25, 2016, 10:57:49 AM
Bitcoin is not established enough to take advantage of uncertainty in other asset classes caused by the Brexit.
Right now those heading for safety will look to gold.
890  Economy / Speculation / Re: I will not Die Untill Bitcoin will reach at Least 50K on: June 25, 2016, 10:56:30 AM
I am Back. I was am and will be always with BTC no matter where i M and or where i was. Sorry i was unable to update and post anything for a long time. typically saying i was out of my laptop and online world. Now I am back and started mining and will be in the forum regularly, As my post is about not dying until BTC is 50K i am still alive.

Mining would have undergone a sea change while you were away.
You must feel like Rip Van Winkle when you see the Bitcoin world today.  Smiley
891  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Undervalued By Over $200 on: June 22, 2016, 03:59:24 PM

yeah but the fall down was not big at all.
it was just small correction when you see the bigger picture here.
$780 was such a big rise which happened all of a sudden and that is why it was also unstable and couldn't hold up.

Yup. It went up too fast. It would be good to see it stabalise at the current price for a month or two before gently moving up again.

That is just my thought. I hope the price can rise slowly and steadily. We do not want big pump and dump.

You can't have a slow and steady rise for ever.
At some point, momentum will build up and the price will shoot.
Boom and bust cycles are part of the life cycle of every asset.
892  Economy / Speculation / Re: To complex, too much stress on: June 22, 2016, 03:56:31 PM
I'll just put my sell orders to $1500 and enjoy the Summer.
DAO gone, DAO recovering, Bitcoin going to da moon but in just a moment back to 600$...
I like simplicity, and trade in large time frames. But nowadays Bitcoin trading is at level 9999.
So I'll just give it time, to clearly see the future trends on 1w MACD.

You put your sell orders to $1500 because you think that it won't get there quickly.
When bitcoin gets to $1400, you will have second thoughts and move your sell orders to $2000.  Tongue
893  Economy / Economics / Re: Holdings of gold vs Holdings of btc on: June 22, 2016, 03:54:43 PM
Gold holder are greater than bitcoin holder since bitcoin has unpredictable value.
As you can see the fact that bitcoin value decrease suddenly within a week and it never happen on gold ( keep stable usually )

People want something which can retain value in the long run. That is one reason why bitcoin and gold may be purchased, since both have limited supply. The short term price movements in Bitcoin really don't matter.
894  Economy / Economics / Re: The $1 Million Dollar Bitcoin on: June 22, 2016, 03:52:22 PM
For 1 Bitcoin to be worth $1,000,000, the total market cap of Bitcoin would have to be $21 trillion dollars. What are the odds of this happening?

For reference, the amount of physical $dollars and coins in circulation are around $1.2 trillion. The global M2 money supply of all currencies are around $45 trillion. The market cap of all mined gold is around $7 trillion.

Will 1 Bitcoin be worth a million dollars? Half a million? Thoughts?
We really need a big amount of demand from users to reach that amount. And to achieve such demand we need a billion of bitcoin subscribers to circulate the coin.

Even if there are billions of users, Bitcoin would need to constitute 1/3 of total global money supply for that to happen.
That does sound like it is asking for too much.
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 22, 2016, 03:46:55 PM
pitch is not good enough for batting.
it is slow and providing grip to bowlers.
and indian batsman are also not stable in this t20 sries.
but i think 130 score is good enough to defend.

Yeah I think India will easily win this match, and if it doesn't then it will be a major upset resulting in series loss, need  to grab some early wickets to stay in the game.

Easy victory?? That was never going to be the case with such a low score.
The match went down to the last ball. India are lucky to win this one.
896  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price doubled - is halving now priced in? on: June 18, 2016, 02:48:53 AM
Yes, the halving has more or less been priced in.
We may still see some upside due to momentum, but it might not be wise to bet on immediate gains.
897  Economy / Speculation / Re: The future of Bitcoin on: June 18, 2016, 02:47:30 AM
Really at high price now but it is getting so scary also. I think many have been exchanging their coins to their own currencies or the dollar because of this really huge jump

Bitcoin can be a real rollercoaster. You need to have the stomach to go through these ups and downs.
I thought of selling when the price crossed $500, but then decided to stay put come what may.
898  Economy / Economics / Re: The Halvening on: June 18, 2016, 02:45:48 AM
how can the poor people turn into rich because of using of bitcoin if they don't have a budget to invest on bitcoin maybe they can earn it but it is not so big  Grin Grin btw sorry i forgot you are just dreaming about the world where their worlwide currency is bitcoin  Grin Grin

Increase in price is not the only way people can benefit from Bitcoin. There are a lot of second generation applications being built on top of Bitcoin. For example - if Bitcoin enables low cost remittances, people will benefit from it.
899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 18, 2016, 02:42:12 AM
Tomorrow there is 1st T20 match b/w Zimbabwe vs India, This is match all most India side 99 percent chance India will win only 1 percent chance Zim can win. I think if India bat first this match will be at least half match interesting if again Zim play first batting again one more boring match we will see let's see what happen.

Usually, weaker teams have a better chance in T20 matches. In this case though, India are a very good T20 teams and Zimbabwe lack players who can take the match away from India.
900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 17, 2016, 02:43:35 PM
Too little, too late for Ireland. They have been screaming, perhaps begging for more matches against the big teams for a decade now and when they got it, their golden generation of players are almost gone and any new talent is hard to come by.

With change of guard at BCCI and at ICC, hopefully the associate nations can hope for a better deal.
Expanding the game is more important than making money.
