883  Bitcoin / Press / [2015-12-06] BITCOIN PRICE ANALYSIS: BULLISH DAYS on: December 07, 2015, 12:14:03 AM
Bitcoin price crossed two important overhead resistance levels earlier today and the last 24 hours' advance has biased the charts to a bullish outlook at most timeframes.

All of the timeframes are bullish after the past day's rapid advance.

The trendline (purple) that has capped several attempts at advance during 2015 has been breached, to the upside, for a second time since November.

The declining trendline (orange) that has capped advance since the November top has also been breached to the upside. The overall picture is more bullish than at anytime during 2015.

Where the wave will form a convenient retracement, for us to get into trend, is not yet clear. Opening a position at the current price juncture is risky and not dictated by the xbt.social method, so traders have to remain patient.

In hindsight, yesterday’s buy signals were ambiguous and the decision to wait for price to confirm the advance by breaking the two significant (and long-term) resistance layers was a prudent course of action.

Summary

The return to advance has transformed all timeframes to a bullish condition within 24hrs, so now we can look for the optimal setup to get into trend. Price seems to be forming a local top near $410 (Bitstamp) and 2700 CNY. A pullback, and test, of the resistance-turned-support level at $380 and 2550 CNY may provide the buy signals we seek.

884  Bitcoin / Press / [2015-12-7] R3 CEV says global bank blockchain should be operating within a year on: December 07, 2015, 12:03:43 AM
The head of research at R3 CEV, the blockchain project backed by 30 of the world's largest banks, says a development team in London is currently coding the fabric for an open-sourced, generic "shared ledger", which banks want to use to reduce reconciliation costs.
Tim Swanson, who joined R3 full-time this year and is also a research fellow at the Singapore Management University, says the biggest challenge working with banks to design protocols for a working blockchain, the technology underpinning bitcoin, is managing expectations while at the same time pushing to build a working platform as quickly as possible.
"It is important not to over hype things, although it is too late on that," Mr Swanson said ahead of a visit to Sydney this week. "At Sibos [the global payments conference held in Singapore last month], everyone was talking about blockchain. Now, deliveries have to be shown to the world in the next 12 months, or people will walk away thinking this is a load of bumf."

886  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where u use bitcoins? on: December 06, 2015, 11:59:54 PM
First time i use bitcoin is for rent vps. It was years ago. But i don't remember which service i use.

And i realize that using bitcoin is very easy and simple rather than using fiat.

for vps yes, it cost less too, there are many vps lik time4vps that are very cheap and accept bitcoin, also you will increase the anonimity toward centralized authority
Yes, that's way i like bitcoin rather than fiat for online shopping.

I can get cheap price when i already buy bitcoin before at lower price. Also fast transaction and anonimity.

im use bitcoin too for rent VPS price very cheap with bitcoin around ~5$/month but im forget link of website too
Im use vps windows (RDP) to staking my altcoin

889  Bitcoin / Press / [2015-12-06] How Bitcoin rose from the dead on: December 06, 2015, 11:26:50 AM
Despite a stack of obituaries, Bitcoin is now selling for over $390, the highest price the cryptocurrency has seen in a full year.

Six years into Bitcoin’s lifespan, the technology is notorious for volatility and what the Economist calls an “unfair” reputation of association with drug trafficking and overzealous supporters. In 2013, after U.S. law enforcement shut down the Silk Road black market and put Bitcoin into the world media’s spotlight, the currency’s value rapidly shot up to over $1,100 per bitcoin, only to take a series of wounding falls down to below $200. It was a sobering global introduction.

Today, Bitcoin’s era of violent swings seems to have passed. After all the turbulence Bitcoin has been through, how did this rise happen?

China China is such a powerful driver for the Bitcoin economy that the Chinese yuan now is trading in 88 percent of all Bitcoin transactions, compared to just 9 percent of transactions using the U.S. dollar.

Over the past six years, various Bitcoin platforms have been hacked and attacked. Sometimes, these attacks were successful, and Bitcoins were stolen. However, every single one of those sites has learned from their mistakes, and implemented proper security measures ever since.

898  Bitcoin / Press / [2015-12-06] China, Driving the Bitcoin Wagon with BitMEX and Others on: December 06, 2015, 07:46:22 AM
China is the biggest contributor to the Bitcoin sector in many ways. We all know that majority of the hashing power is currently contributed by the Chinese mining pools; it probably has more Bitcoin mining data centers than any other country, and most of the Bitcoin ASICs are designed and fabricated in there.

The Chinese contribution is not only limited to the technological infrastructure; the Chinese are also active traders, and a significant number of transactions over the Bitcoin blockchain originate from mainland China and other territories like Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc. The region also leads when it comes to Bitcoin-based businesses and trading volumes.

899  Bitcoin / Press / [2015-12-06] TalkTalk Website – Bitcoin Platforms Learned Their Lesson on: December 06, 2015, 07:45:00 AM
TalkTalk Customer Details Are Still Vulnerable
When the TalkTalk hack occurred a few weeks ago, a total of 157,000 customers were affected. Among the information retrieved were names, addresses, phone numbers, and even dates of birth. Up until this point, it remains unclear as to whether or not any financial details have been leaked.

But that isn’t the only concern for TalkTalk customers, as researchers have unveiled even more security flaws affecting the ISP’s systems. Especially the online services run by the company are vulnerable to attack, such as the ISP’s website, as well as their email services. Needless to say, these security risks need to be patched sooner rather than later.
