881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs should only create Tokens with Working Product(s) on: September 05, 2018, 02:48:03 AM
Enough of people just creating tokens just for the sole purpose of trading it in exchanges and making money after the ICO. In order for a token to survive or stand the test of time, there is need for it to have a working product or service it directly supports. This is what a lot of tokens are lacking today.

In my opinion, any token to be created should bring in something new. It must be a token that will add value to the society and not just for the purpose of trading it in exchanges and cashing out money.

If we actually want cryptocurrency to survive and appeal to the ordinary people, then we must create ONLY tokens relevant to the society's needs or solves at least a particular societal problem.

With this way, the investors may be able to avoid scam projects. Some scam projects actually have MVP, but at least they will waste their money and time if the scam project failed. Some real companies want to collect funds first to develop their working product, unless they already have some capitals.
882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if someone bought up all the existing bitcoins? on: September 04, 2018, 02:42:11 AM
Hi, I am a noob to all this bitcoin stuffs. It sounds like an interesting idea but before I invest too much into it I have
some questions and concerns. Perhaps highest on my list of concerns is the possibility that someone will buy up all,
or most, of all the bitcoins that exist.

Will it be just like the existing economic system where the rich get richer on the backs of the poor?
Will that not destroy the whole bitcoin project and make whatever bitcoins I happen to get myself worthless?

I have read a few things on this kinda stuff and some of it sounds pretty scary. I don't know how much of it
is FUD or how feasible any of it is at all at all.

Please help me understand and ease my mind in regard to this issue.

Thank you

It is not easy to buy all of bitcoin. If you buy much btc on the exchange, the price will go spiking and resulting to higher and higher price to be bought.
Some peoples may cancel their sell order, and put back the order with the higher price and make the price even higher than before.
Need a massive amount of money to buy all of existing btc, almost impossible.
883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your Wallet Keys and Passwords should be known to you and you alone. Yes! But... on: September 03, 2018, 03:42:42 PM
Yes! You need to protect your wallets against any possible theft or hacking. You must protect your private keys and wallet passwords. This is a must for everyone, else your coins will be stolen.

The frequent warnings of ensuring you protect your private keys from anyone seems to have eaten too deep into almost everyone of us in cryptocurrency. Some of us have forgotten certain realities of life and cryptocurrency wallets which I want to warn you about. My warning is mainly targeted at anyone who has a family, or at least, a child. You must leave a means or trace that your family will be able to access your wallets when you are gone. I mean when you are below 6ft. Each one of us will die some day. No one wants to hear this, but it is the absolute truth. If you suddenly die today with your secret keys and passwords unknown to your family, your coins are lost forever. Your crypto wallet is not a regular bank, so no way your family can claim your many crypto wealth online.
Don't be selfish. Your family or wife or children must not suffer when you have so much Bitcoin or other coins trapped in an inaccessible online wallets.

Remember your family and loved ones.

You have a very strong and uneasy decision to make today.

Very true. What you need to do is just make some backup of your wallet credential in a safe place like deposit box.
If you have much coins in your wallet, someday when you die, the coin balance will never move from the wallet, and making the circulation of the coin reduced.
884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have received some tokens. Should I sell or hold? on: September 03, 2018, 03:36:31 PM
I am a full time bounty hunter. But I am not good at making decisions. Because recently I have received some tokens from a bounty campaign. Now I am really confused about, should I sell the tokens or should I hold them for the price to be a rise?

Note: The token company is saying that the price will go higher. On the other hand, some experts are saying that the token is not good enough to go higher price. What should I do?

Friend, the company of your token will said that of course, because they believe it so. But you will need to find the opinion other than the company's team. It will depends on the performance of your token company. If it running good, then it will be worth to hold , not sell. but if the opposite, then just sell it quickly before falling more.
885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Huge tokens during Bounties on: September 03, 2018, 03:29:30 PM
I noticed a just ended bounty campaign and a participant got 80K tokens. I was wondering what h will do with that token. I want to know what happens when bounty hunters gets more or huge tokens during campaigns.
The number of tokens is not really a big thing, the important thing is what the price. If the price per token is very cheap, gained 80k is not a big deal. What will happen when they got many token are either they will sell it, or they hold it to waiting for the price increasing more.

887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is our money in crypto? on: August 31, 2018, 07:27:12 AM
Money is not at all safe in cryptocurrency, There are so many hackers around here who's only business is hack a wallet of bounty hunters to get money without doing anything.

I think it is not the cryptocurrency is unsafe, but the hackers fraud the users by creating a phishing site, emails, that can lead to hacking events.
Maybe we just need more knowledge to protect our wallet in a safe way, so the hackers wont be able to hack our wallet.
The hackers is just the peoples who have more knowledge than you.
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange it or Hold it on: August 31, 2018, 06:55:18 AM
Knowing that you could get free coins from Airdrops, would you exchange it once you got the coins or hold it until the vslue rises up?

If you know the value of the coin will increase, why you want to sell it ? You can see the ICO company whether they can keep their planning or not.
I usually hold the tokens i got from airdrop or campaign if i believe the project. But sometimes i missed them too, selling too quick and later the price increase. I am sure that if you can find out about the development of the project, you can decide to sell it or not.
889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Shall I buy BTC? on: August 31, 2018, 06:46:31 AM
Is buying BTC currently a good idea, or should I be going with ethereum?
Pls suggest...

Well, if you were really buying bitcoin at that time, you would already gained much profit later because at the end of last year cryptocurrency value was skyrocketing. From my opinion, btc price is currently not dropping like any altcoins in the market. So, buying btc is a good consideration.
890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you find interesting ICO ? on: August 30, 2018, 08:35:39 AM
Where do you find interesting ICO or crypto projects to invest ? Here on bitcointalk announcements or on other websites related to new ICO  announcements !

I usually find some interesting ICO in the review spreadsheet by some peoples here. There are too much ICO's in bitcointalk ANN section.
You may hard to find a good ICO if you only search in that section. Try look some reviews and you can do your own research after.
891  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase got hacked??? on: August 30, 2018, 02:25:52 AM
Yesterday, I logged into my Coinbase account after a long time and ... It's empty,

I have a small amount BCH and BTC there. 2 transactions were just made and sent all my BCH and BTC to somewhere.

Before that,  I did not recieve any email, or 2FA SMS.

Now I lost all and dont know why.

Have you contact the support staff of coinbase ? I think your balance can be recovered if the mistake on their site.
But if you find it the mistake because your account got hacked, then it cannot be helped anymore.
Anyway, always do not leaving your exchange account too long.
892  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Hash Rate on All-Time High, What does it Mean for BTC Price? on: August 30, 2018, 02:07:24 AM
Bitcoin price has taken a further fall and dropped below $7,600 level. However, its network hash rate is at its all-time high after going through various ups and down in the short term. With the bears making an entry into the market, how is bitcoin hash rate going to affect it?

https://coingape.com/bitcoin-hash-rate-on-all-time-high/

If the bitcoin hash rate going higher than before, it means more miners are mining bitcoin. High hash rate will increasing difficult of mining.
When the difficulty of mining increase, it means you will earn coin lesser than before because the share is smaller.
893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The day will surely come Banks soon accept Bitcoin on: August 29, 2018, 07:59:28 AM
The day will surely come, looking at how widespread cryptocurrencies is flying lately, the future looks bright. With the introduction of ATMs that supports bitcoin in Belgium, I am looking forward to hearing the great news when bitcoin will be accepted in banks.

Agree with you, and not only bitcoin. Other cryptocurrency like altcoins will be accepted as well.
At least not for now, because there are still some governments banning crypto in their country.
Once everyone can freely use crypto, the bank should accept it to adopt it on their system.
894  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW TO protect yourself from Scammers on: August 29, 2018, 07:31:56 AM
Very useful information for everyone who want to avoid hackers on their wallet.
To prevent yourself getting scammed in ICO, you must have enough information about the project.
What is the vision of company, the products of the company, and the team or advisors behind them.
895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is For Risk Takers on: August 28, 2018, 05:11:36 AM
I seen lots of people are panic and selling and spreading FUD . But based on my experience people who really dare to take risk only won here .
Wise and daring investors are still searching for good potential coins to invest while its really cheap were greedy people are panic and spreading FUD
Finally people who dare to invest bitcoin even when the price of 100$ they created fortune here . Its completely daring and vision not at aall luck . SO if you are having real vision and want to make milestone in life then be here in crypto and support other wise please quit .

Yes i understand, cryptocurrency has a high risk to get involved. They are who spreading FUD have failed to understanding the risk of crypto, volatility.
If the market down, FUDers will say it is the end of crypto. We are as a smart holders and investors of crypto should not listen to their talk.
A person who able to see the vision of cryptocurrency will keep using crypto in their life.
896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Asking stores do they accept bitcoin on: August 28, 2018, 04:56:39 AM
How many times have you came in a store and asked whether or not they accept bitcoin when you wanted to pay?

Should we do that EACH time we visit ANY store?
Would we create a huge advertisement for BTC that way?

Would stores start accepting it when they encounter a couple of people on a weekly basis asking them if they accept bitcoin?

Should we start doing this? o.o
Should we create a community so hard core that asks for everything they pay if it could be handled in BTC?

That is not a bad idea. You can create more awareness about bitcoin and crypto to peoples if you do that.
Bitcoin should be used like a daily currency so the demands of it will increase much. If the demands high, the price will go up in the market.
897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin uses too much energy? on: August 28, 2018, 04:47:51 AM
https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/7xmvbq/bitcoin-energy-science-world-electricity-demand

Now Motherboard is not the best source for news, but let's consider the implications of this...

Consuming immense amounts of energy is actually somewhat counterproductive if we consider the vision of Bitcoin giving us tools for independence. And it's somewhat unethical because we should not be using more than we need on this earth.

However, we don't really know how much energy it is consuming at this stage, so this could just be another reporter trying to find a story.

What energy you mean ? If it is about electricity, then mining bitcoin is not using much energy in my opinion.
You can see many companies that using much more electricity than mining bitcoin. However, we still need to using our resources with cautions.
898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ICO investment still worth it? on: August 27, 2018, 02:15:56 AM
For the past two months almost all the ICOs i have invested when they get listed on exchange, they are reduced by about 300% of the price i bought it. Those who buy after the ICO tend to gain more profit than we the early adopters. Now am confused whether i should continue with ICO investments or stop. Guys what do you think

I guess it still. Although investing in ICO is risky, but it worth to gain such profit with the risk include on it.
Never expect your ICO token price will increase when listed on exchange, because listing is no meaning if the product of the company still not done.
899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 99% of questions and answers are the same on: August 26, 2018, 02:16:13 PM
So, reading the first 2 pages of topics on this forum I have noticed that every single question is either:
- Will Bitcoin be the most amazing thing ever?
- Will bitcoin crash and burn?

Almost every answer is exactly the same:
- It will be amazing because "I believe", "I have faith" etc etc
- It will crash and burn because it has no value/too volatile/the secret world society will not let it be mainstream, whatever...
- No-one knows but I will write a ton of words which say that.

Whether Bitcoin ends up rising in value, replacing global financial systems, crashing etc etc the answer is nothing more than NO ONE KNOWS....
Your "faith" "belief" etc in it is irrelevant, unless you can manipulate the price, news, etc you have no influence over its success.

All you are doing is taking a gamble/speculating.... you may get lucky or not.... just make sure it is money that won't ruin your life if it all goes away.

I bought some bitcoin because I am greedy and want it to go up in price so I can sell to someone else for more money.
Is it the best investment.... of course not....
But is it fun, hell yes!

Trading it can be fun, like going to a casino where you think you know how the cards are stacked.....

Yes, no one knows about bitcoin or cryptocurrency future. If someone claimed to know about bitcoin future, then they must be want to scam you.
If they knew about the future, they would not tell you about cryptocurrency price in the future to gain much profit from it.
Bitcoin should be used, not be speculated.
900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Community Is Now Dominated by Speculators Not Criminals!! on: August 24, 2018, 02:34:02 AM
Currently, the ratio of legal to illegal activity on the bitcoin network has completely changed trend as the former surpasses the former. This was stated by DEA Agent Lilita Infante at the U.S Drug Enforcement Administration.

Is the number of criminals on the bitcoin network has significantly reduced compared to early days?

https://coinpedia.org/news/bitcoin-network-speculators-not-criminals/

Yes i agree with you. The speculators want to make quick profit from market movements.
They even can manipulate the market to get more profit by buying the low price after they dump.
I think not much criminals exist in cryptocurrency, other than scam icos and projects.
