881  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF - decision 15th May - Time and place on: May 15, 2017, 01:11:32 PM
They made their decision. They will refuse. Nobody gives a shit anymore about ETF. This is Bitcoin.

i also say this and will continue to do so.

but one thing has changed in the world. and that is the news about Japan. if you look at all the rest of the countries, they are treating bitcoin a lot better. amny more countries are thinking about doing the same thing.
so i say there is a very small chance that has affected SEC decision.
but in the end even if they approve it, nothing is going to change Smiley
Bitcoin price already started decreased, whether because ETF decision or not but I think better to move forward with many adopters join in the environment because of the country already support it such as Japan. We will see in the end of the day if bitcoin price continue to fall or rise again tomorrow. But, bitcoin will recover again obviously, so keep calm and save your bitcoin.
882  Economy / Economics / Re: How to make a GOOD prediction? on: May 14, 2017, 11:58:22 PM
Could it BTC or any other crypto, how do you make a good prediction?

What information do you collect, from where and -if there is any- what scientifically proven formula do you use?

I also would be interested in your success rates. Success is, when your prediction comes true.
The main concern is > no one can predict it precisely but maybe  80%-90% accurately.
Usually, bitcoin and altcoins driven by speculation and good news about development which affected the price.
Read a lot of opinion from others in and out (side) of this forum that you need to gather all information regarding that thing and you can predict it at least 50-60%, but don't put all eggs in one basket. Working in a team is better than just yourself.
883  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: can I make 100$ in 2-3 month without a base money? on: May 14, 2017, 11:50:01 PM
I can manage to get $100 in 2-3 months without a base money, so you can do it too with the same knowledge/information that I know.
Cryptocurrencies provide larger opportunity for everyone who wants to learn and earn money.
I'm still learning though, how I could make $1000 within a month and many people could get that in gambling but I don't know how,
So apparently trading is the most reasonable way to achieve that.
884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why blockchain taking days for BTC confirmation? on: May 14, 2017, 11:33:54 PM
Any idea why BTC confirmation taking days to confirm?
Sometime BTC get refunded to Sender....Should we use high fee like advance option for send BTC?

if i want to send 1500$ BTC then how much network Fee should i use to make BTC confirmation fast?
That's a common problem from last year when bitcoin has reached higher price maybe around more than $800, and this month bitcoin reach another ATH over $1800 per bitcoin. But, not only the price reach ATH, unconfirmed transaction reach ATH as well.
I'm not an expert in this case, but to generate 1 block included into blockchain need some (various) time and Max size is 1Mb. I don't know whether miners process those transactions slowly or block size cannot afford so many transactions which delay our transactions.
885  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin hits $1,600 and one investor says it could rally to $4,000 in few months on: May 14, 2017, 10:49:28 PM
Bitcoin is "fully valued" and could see a pullback in the short term after hitting $1,600 for the first time on Monday, according to one investor, but the price could go as high as $4,000 over the next 14 months.

The cryptocurrency has been on an upward move since April and was trading around $1,575.52 by early afternoon trading in London after hitting an all-time high $1,601.05 during morning trade, according to the Coindesk bitcoin price index.

In the last 30 days, bitcoin has risen over 33 percent

http://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/08/bitcoin-price-hits-record-high-and-4000-is-ahead-investor-says.html
Evidently, bitcoin has reach more than I expected due to rally in this month, over $1800 and still at higher level right now.
I have read some reasons why bitcoin price suddenly rise such as the articles mentioned, but litecoin SegWit is a good thought which affected bitcoin, Japan exchanges, South Korean, Russia and Australia regulations regarding cryptocurrency really influence people to invest on bitcoin.
886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SERIOUSLY.......A bitcoin killer? on: May 14, 2017, 08:24:00 PM
I did tell you guys this one was going to blow up! Grin
People may think you've something, expose this coin and it seems you are one of their team, just wild guess.
But, you did good and I'm interested to learn about this coin.
Honestly, why the title > a bitcoin killer? To bait more people?
None of altcoins could kill bitcoin obviously, compete maybe as some coins has good potential to reach a half of bitcoin achievement.
887  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin treated as money in Australia from 1. july on: May 14, 2017, 07:58:41 PM
Those countries have done and create a better support for bitcoin environment to enhances business relate to cryptocurrency which is very helpful for us. Treated bitcoin as a currency maybe still not suitable for merchants demands where they have to wait for a long time to get a confirmed transaction. If bitcoin cannot scalable, then it's destiny to become as a store of value.
888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on South Korea on: May 14, 2017, 07:28:10 PM
I've seen South Korean exchanges back to few months ago and they had reached more than $2000. I don't take it so serious at that time and just think probably they have highest exchange rate. I don't know how bitcoiners in there could achieve such trading volume or what they are doing, how much adapters, merchants or companies accept bitcoin transaction, but it is a great deal which caused bitcoin price increases and worth slightly more as time goes on.
889  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bank Interest VS Bitcoin profits on: May 14, 2017, 07:01:36 PM
I introduced a friend to bitcoin in 2016 and he bought 20 bitcoins at $455 somewhere in January 2016. He now sold all of them at $1005 per bitcoin. After bank fees and trading fees, he made a profit of about $10 000 in a year.

The best interest rate he could get back in January was about 10% per year. So his profit from bank interest would have been +/- $910 for 2016.

Even after Tax has been deducted for Capital Gains, he will still Net a profit of about $7000 for the year. He is a very happy chap now, and I got a expensive lunch out of this deal. ^smile^

#Disclaimer : These are calculations done by him, so I do not know how accurate they are. Just thought I would share it with you.

Would you risk about $10 000 now, to possibly copy his success? Those were very uncertain times, when he had to make that decision back then.
Wow, I'm impressed by your friend > $455 * BTC20 = $9,100 invested, wait for a year and he got $20,100 return for BTC20.
He has big funds obviously and get bigger profits, if I have $10,000 now, I will purchase bitcoin and wait for uncertain time when I desperately need for money and than sell it, I guess min 1 year as well to extract more money from bitcoin savings.
But, I won't sell all of it instantly, better to divide and sell partly depend on my needs.
890  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I have about 50$ where to invest ? on: May 14, 2017, 06:32:02 PM
You tell that you have 50$ but it's low amount for invest. i think you can earn with 50$ invest. if you know about coin currency you can trade. if you want to trade first you follow alt coin. other you can like revenue share site that earn limit profit. it's not risky.

Trading on altcoin is more riskier compare on bitcoin so IMO invest on bitcoin is wise move since bitcoin has decrease at the moment, so it's time to BUY !
I'm sure bitcoin will reach $ 2000 before 2018
Well, we don't know which decision that has been taken by him but $50 still a good amount even though it is not so much.
Buy bitcoin at cheaper price and sell it at highest peak should profitable for the beginning, but you have to predict it precisely based on news and speculation. Then, trading bitcoin-altcoins could doubled your capital within a month, it won't be so easy and a lot to learn about.
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Disappearing coins on poloniex on: May 14, 2017, 06:08:39 PM
If this is legit, I am sorry for your loss, please contact support @ Polo.  BUT....newbie account?  Loss claims?  I've traded on Polo since it started and have NEVER had a problem.
That's why Op stated and ask others if they also experience it, and look like many people say the same thing. Maybe DDoS problem or Poloniex cannot afford all of those transactions or whatever it might be. When you want to withdraw what belongs to you and it can't be processed and there's no any explanation, what would you think? better to use other trading platform for now.
892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A serious obstacle for bitcoin's popularity on: May 14, 2017, 05:42:26 PM
Yesterday morning I wanted to sell some btc and get my local currency. The suggested transaction fee was something like 0.0005 which is (was) less than dollar. Anyway, I agreed and was waiting for the transaction to proceed. Mostly I get lucky and my transactions are confirmed in a few minutes. This one is still pending after more than 24 hours (it's been 30 hours already). I believe if nothing can be done with this, bitcoin will inevitably stop at some point and won't be able to become more popular. Waiting for money for dozens of hours is just too wrong.

In all sincerity this issue is really getting to a head that is a point where its becoming unbearable. In the past year where some of the advantages that is being discussed on the thread concerning bitcoin are how fast transactions are and how cheap they are compared to other means of transferring funds across borders but it seems these two important qualities are gradually turning into a myth and its not showing any sign of abatement. Something really needs to be done about this.
Yes! If only some other good coin started signature campaigns and became as easy to use as bitcoin.. I've just checked my transaction - it is finally confirmed. I don't know when it happened but it took more than three days for it to get confirmed. As for the fee, I don't know whether it was adequate or not..210 satoshis per bit if I'm not mistaken. Well, at least it got confirmed.
I have been through the same thing as my transaction take 4 days to be confirmed, maybe $2 fee or 120sat/bit for my transaction was adequate too, but it is really obstacle for new adopters seeing bitcoin transaction become more expensive and still have to wait for long time for sending bitcoin. Since the price skyrocket and fee increase as well, there's nothing we can do about that and let devs team and miners agreed to solve, but high fees very profitable for miners and they could choose to let it and spin out this problem due to block size won't ever reach an agreement for everyone.
893  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy, hold or sell? on: May 14, 2017, 04:50:26 PM
It is funny... I did ETH Mining about 1 year ago... I mined ~2 ETH/day... and sold them for like 14$ each..  I am so stupid Sad

I did the same with Bitcoin when the price was like $250 and I thought that Bitcoin is crashing to the oblivion. You are not the only one.
Don't be bitter about it, if you managed to earn profit at that time it is still fine.

We can hope that price of BTC after next halving will reach 4 digits. You still can buy and hold cheap bitcoin, don't make the same mistake twice.
I do it all the time because Bitcoin's example for me is earnings. I earn it and sell it, changing it for real money. If I counted how much I lost due to the fact that I did not save Bitcoin on my wallet, I probably would have gotten a decent condition.
You must don't have any other source income but bitcoin, do you? I can say, you believe that bitcoin price will increase more and more over time, but some people want to get money to cover their expenses. Another reason maybe, higher price is very tempting to sell bitcoin and get higher profit because it may decline after some time or afraid it could crash.
But, who can save bitcoin for long term, more likely get more than just sell it now.
894  Economy / Economics / Re: Moment for buying or selling? on: May 13, 2017, 03:29:53 PM
I was thinking, because of Bitcoin price skyrocketed, would it be wise to buy bitcoin now? I have some bitcoin in wallet, but nothing much, and i was thinking to buy some bitcoin more. But because of price rising in last few days i am not sure what to do, because if i buy now, maybe price will go down and ill lose profit, or maybe it will go up and i did not buy so ill lose profit too. What are your thinking on matter and what do you think how much will price of bitcoin rise this year?
Don't worry about that, bitcoin has destined to reach much more than current price, so you won't loss invest on bitcoin.
But, I would suggest to buy after 15th May, when SEC will review ETF decision. The price may drop back again if ETF get rejected. Buy at the dip and don't buy when bitcoin reach ATH, but who can predict it precisely whether it will rise or fall in the end of the month? Just buy and wait for the end of the year and maybe bitcoin could reach $2000-$2500.
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QAU] QUANTUM PROJECT - Connecting markets on: May 13, 2017, 02:41:01 PM
2 days left before the ICO end with total Investors 257 Invested 1,395.56BTC Invested 2,382,221$

so dont forget to Invest it here before you late to invest

Thanks.

That's a pretty good amount of Bitcoins being invested into this Project! I kind of wonder where all that Bitcoin is coming from since there's been many successful ICO's on this forum and they usually get about 1-2,000 BTC deposited into the ICO.

I am pretty sure that the Quantum Project is going to be pretty successful though, I hope that the money that is used from the ICO is going to be put in good use promotional wise.
Two days left to invest and current presale just hit $2,504,505 which BTC1,471.68 invested. Amazing increases within hours, many people expect to get profits by join the presale and that's a good decision to buy before presale ended on 15th May.
We know this project different from others and have some advantages offered to investors, hopefully it will success and keep rising.
896  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your favorite Trading Signal? on: May 13, 2017, 01:57:27 PM
I just follow the communities (Slack, Telegram, Bitcointalk, Reddit). On top of the most recent news from the team. I think you can get a lot of signals when you keep your eyes open in those channels and communication.
Agree, you have to read and understand what others talking about some altcoins, why this is good, which one maybe rise soon or fall forever. Beside that, you need to learn trading process by yourself, I like to see dip signal at potential coins which means it is a good opportunity to buy more and wait it rise again.
897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin transaction fees fair? on: May 13, 2017, 01:45:44 AM
This process is a little bit risky, and we can not save more money. The transaction fee is high for low amount transfer people. But it is a fair amount for high amount traders. The problem is the transaction fee is fixed that is the problem. It should be fixed by how much amount we can transfer means ok. But it is not like that for the small or big amount the fee is same that is the problem.
Bitcoin is not good micropayment solution, transaction fee is now more than $1 which completely eliminates reason behind every transaction lower than $1 worth of BTC
You simply do not sent $1 and pay 100% transaction fee. Bitcoin transaction fee is linked to the amount of data being send so as long as it is low it should be better option than standard percentage fee.
Blockchain.info shows we should pay at least 120sat/BTC, yes transaction fee depends on your transaction size. But, more than $1 is higher than some remittance fee and we should wait for uncertain time to get the transaction confirmed. I've been waiting for 3 days but my transaction still stuck on limbo and seems $2 fee is not enough for now, even though my transaction didn't exceed 0.8BTC
898  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Will Reach $3000 By The End Of The Year on: May 08, 2017, 10:36:59 PM
Good for us if bitcoin could make.it, but I still consider $2000 is a target for this year as price fluctuate due to speculation and good news around the world about bitcoin adoption. Japan can't stand alone to lift off bitcoin reach $3000 but it needs all of the countries, global trading volume should increase than we can see that happen. I believe current rally driven by ETF decision on 15th May, and wait for it which could make the price decline again.
899  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Japanese exchanges increasing on: May 08, 2017, 06:13:07 PM
Japan has taken a wise step to legalized bitcoin into their monetary system.
I would like to read how bitcoin being accepted and developing in this country, and it seems more merchants and companies cooperate to accept bitcoin transaction. "over 10 Japanese companies are reportedly launching bitcoin exchanges to capitalize on the growing demand for the cryptocurrency." https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/10-new-bitcoin-exchanges-set-launch-japan/amp/
900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: May 08, 2017, 05:37:19 PM
Banks will not dissappear. We will still need banks as not everyone will use Bitcoin. We are already seeing banks for Bitcoin. If anything banks as we know them may have to move with the times and start bitcoin accounts. At the end of the day banks make money of our money they will want to try making money from bitcoin too.
Bank is a system of money. So you are right people needs system to support or to finance money. Bitcoin is way more different to bank, meaning that bitcoin is not a bank itself because bitcoin does not have that specific system for example its transaction and price. In bank there is need on  investing and investment which make money grow. But in bitcoin its price is an investment itself but it always follow the support of the users. For me banks will not disappear because of bitcoin but instead bank may support bitcoin for a wider scale coverage transactions and development.
And we need bank to purchase bitcoin and withdrawal money out of exchanges, anything that related to money must be connected with bank system. Yes, bank won't disappear because of bitcoin, and bitcoin need bank as it is the way we store and send money in the first place. In case if government wants to regulate bitcoin, they will cooperate with bank to verify everyone who makes transactions in and out of the exchanges, so we still need bank for sure
