What... no way is it going over 5. We touched base with 5.1 and it wasn't meant to be this week. We're looking at 4.3-4.6 for a while. it just hit 4.9 on BTCT No such trade in the history. Where are you getting that from? Lowest ask doesn't count. |

Only by weak hands who think the run up in value had anything to do with expectation of this week's dividends. Last time this happened after a low dividend, it recovered straight away and the panic-sellers got burned. I know, I was one of them.  |

While the dividend was average, news came out shortly after about an increase in mining hash rates and ultra-fast sales of mining gear which meant a big increase for this week's dividend. The share price jumped due to speculation of the dividend, not the price of BTC.
Not really this week's dividend, it's more about bright future in the coming months. I won't be shocked if today's dividend isn't spectacular. |

Thankfully ASICMINER's price and dividends are keeping me level.
I would say price. Dividends are not that great, some other securities may deliver about 10x. May? Which ones do now? 260% APR? I'll jump on that. There's at least one doing 0,5% per day as of now. EDIT: reasonably ASICMiner will give about 0,5% per week. They tend to be ones where the dividends go down quickly with time though. It's not really APR. |

based on both technical indicators and fundamental valuation, this is (to me) unmistakably a bubble. When a bad dividend week comes in, we'll see who is right.
We already have seen how right your technical indicators and fundamental valuation are. I've done some statistics with the rate of difficulty increase and the anticipated hashrate increase. They're overvalued.
(I DON'T think they're gonna fail, but I think the odds of being below 1.7BTC before September are worth up to a 0.1BTC premium.)

The price is moderating, just dropped below 5
yup, new direct auction wall with over 300 shares at 5. Not that that will affect a high-dividend buying rush much, but it will probably cool it till we know what the dividends are. [Edit: note also that buyers in that auction don't get to enjoy today's dividends!] |
