8801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: December 11, 2017, 01:28:50 AM
@sammy007. I understand your frustration. I too reckon that I was lied to by smooth for not releasing any code rebase and a new roadmap. But we have to be patient.

In any case, I still trust in smooth's ability as shown in his work on Monero. Give him more time. We knew this coin was only a side project with low expectation when we started buying it.

8802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCH view on BTC at the moment on: December 11, 2017, 12:25:32 AM
BCH miners and pumpers regret for being naive to move out from BTC and now they decided to comeback to the other side..

yeah....would have lost a a lot of money right now...their pockets must be pretty empty....and honestly they were trying to do something good...! give us choice and options

Only in their minds. What they are really doing is trying to divide the community and trying to make all kinds of publicity stunts saying that bitcoin cash is the real bitcoin.

Is attacking bitcoin what you call good?

They also have the scammer Craig Wright on their side.

ok yeah I see what you mean....but they are giving us big block options, the failure so scale at all on chain via blocksize for btc is an issue as well. even if its a fractional amount, to a proposed g(x). (ignoring SW)

That is not what I am referring to. Bigger blocks is not an issue for me, it is confusing the general public what is bitcoin and what is not. But before we can go further, let me ask you these questions.

Is bitcoin cash an altcoin for you or not?

Also is Craig Wright the real Satoshi Nakamoto?

Craig Wright has not signed SN addresses, so until he does he lacks proof. BTC allows people to prove how they say they are very easily.

He does not seem like SN is my view. He does not behave like SN. However the Federal Police kicked his door in, so that does make him look more legit, though we all know why that really happened, yes I am talking to you Mr. High enough up in the Federal police, officer, who conviently took say x thousand unsecured btc from hard drives that were handed to you....

I am agnostic as to "BCH alt" "BTC alt" it not a proper description, nor is it a binary question. Say one is original or not is irrelevant.

Rather, they are protocols with different attributes, and you end up on both if you had BTC b4 the fork.

I am not bothered by so called general publics confusion, again not really a valid descriptor popular but not valid. I rather believe each individual can apply themselves to the limit of their interest and ability.

I can see your reluctance in saying that bitcoin cash is the altcoin. If you are a supporter and a holder then I understand.

But let me put it this way. It was the bitcoin cash developers who changed the consensus rules and forked away from the main chain with the support of some miners controlled by Jihan Wu. Therefore BCH is the altcoin.
8803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: December 10, 2017, 03:02:24 AM
@Razick. Do you have a favorite driver yet hehe?

Also, learn the rules, especially the rules during qualifying, pertaining to the tires used and what should be used at the start of the race. That is very important in trying to understand what kind of strategy a team is doing.

@cicciobtc. I reckon Kubica is not 100% fit for Formula 1 anymore.
8804  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-08] The Threat of Bitcoin Futures on: December 10, 2017, 02:06:26 AM
I have posted the same news in the speculation forum but have gotten no reaction from the readers. Maybe they do not see the possible consequences the CME's futures market might bring, becoming the solitary basis for bitcoin's price.

In any case, if Wall Street does not need to buy bitcoin to trade the market, then what is the incentive for traders to buy real bitcoins in the exchanges?
8805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: December 10, 2017, 12:21:34 AM
@boomboombazookajeff. Aeon's breakdown is a natural reaction to bitcoin's rush up. I am certain that there were Aeon holders who sold in panic to hold more bitcoin for the last 6 days. But that does not matter, seeing how our precious little darling always finds its way back to the channel hehe.
8806  Economy / Gambling / Re: Article: Australian gamblers lose a record $24b in a year on: December 09, 2017, 11:29:07 PM
@m0gliE. There are some people who have gambling addiction and it is the same sickness, if you can call it that, as alcohol addiction or drug addiction.

I have seen some broke people beg for some money on parking lots outside a real casino, and they always say that they will pay you back after they win. Pitiful. They need help.
8807  Economy / Speculation / The Threat of Bitcoin Futures on: December 09, 2017, 01:46:38 AM
Things might not be all that favorable months after the availability of the futures market for bitcoin. I wanted to lay my thoughts across on the community but the lack of reaction made me think not one cares.

I hope this article will make the community think more and hype less.

But here’s the thing: the money will not be pouring into the bitcoin market. It will be buying synthetic derivatives that don’t directly impact bitcoin at all.

For every $100 million (or whatever) that supermegahedgefundX puts into bitcoin futures, no extra money goes into bitcoin itself. These futures do not require ownership of actual bitcoins, not even on contract maturity.

Sure, many will argue that more funds will be interested in holding actual bitcoins now that they can hedge those positions.

If SupermegahedgefundX can offset any potential losses with futures trading, then maybe it will be more willing to buy bitcoin – although why it would allow its potential gains to be reduced with the same futures trade is beyond me. And, why hold the bitcoin when you can get similar profits with less initial outlay just by trading the synthetic derivatives?

That's the part that most worries me. Why buy bitcoin when you can go long a futures contract? Or a combination of futures contracts that either exaggerates your potential gains or limits your potential loss?

In other words, I’m concerned that institutional investors that would have purchased bitcoin for its potential gains will now just head to the futures market. Cleaner, cheaper, safer and more regulated.

What worries me even more is the possibility that the institutional funds that have already bought bitcoin (and pushed the price up to current levels) will decide that the official futures market is safer. And they will sell.

Now, it’s possible that the demand for bitcoin futures and the general optimism that seems prevalent in the sector will push up futures prices (in other words, there will be more demand for contracts that commit to buying bitcoin at $20,000 in a year’s time than those that commit to buying at $12,000 – I know, but the market is strange).

This will most likely influence the actual market price ("Hey, the futures market knows something we don’t, right?").

And the launch of liquid futures exchanges increases the likelihood of a bitcoin ETF being approved by the SEC in the near future. That would bring a lot of money into an already crowded space.

But… it’s also possible that the institutional investors that are negative on bitcoin’s prospects (and there’s no shortage of those) may use the futures markets to put money behind their conviction. It’s much easier to sell a futures contract with a lower-than-market price than it is to actually short bitcoin. These investors may well send signals to the actual bitcoin market that sends prices tumbling.

And the leverage inherent in futures contracts, especially those that settle for cash, could increase the volatility in a downturn.

8808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Alts are you buying in this Dip??? on: December 08, 2017, 04:46:18 AM
@JTPhotography. Always Aeon. The price always comes back after a big crash and the crashes are usually not below the most latest of lows.

Your chance to buy some before the code rebase next year. Also, Aeon has the tendency to be around 10% of the price of Monero. It is a long way under that.

@SaShiRaJaVu. Khabib will win if he can make the weight hehehe. Maybe he should stop eating his favorite desert, the tiramizu while he is in training.

In any case, the odds are not out yet. Let us see what the sportsbooks give both fighters. But I reckon Khabib will be the big favorite.
8810  Economy / Gambling / Re: Article: Australian gamblers lose a record $24b in a year on: December 08, 2017, 03:10:33 AM
That shows that bitcoin gambling sites have a long way to go to grab a large portion of that market share. Some of them have started having their own ICOs to get funding for expansion, new product offerings and marketing their sites towards the mainstream gamblers.

Some of them cannot stay small forever.
8811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: December 08, 2017, 01:59:54 AM
There must be some of you who is starting to become more and more worried. Especially those who bought over on 40k satoshis. I will be too to be honest.

But Aeon has never failed to gain back what it has lost, and smooth is one of the best developers in the cryptospace.

In any case, Aeon's breakdown of the lower channel was always a good buying opportunity in the past.

Good question.

Conclusively the market will decide. Everyone can argue for one side all day long, but as long as there are altcoin investors, they cannot be stopped.

For example me. I hold and support Aeon. Who can stop me and others like me?

I also bought tickets, I still want to know after the ICO TRKCs I will be traded on any exchange?

Hi Vnime,

Thanks for participating in the ICO. TRKC will be traded on exchanges after ICO ends. On 1.1.2018 you will be able to trade on various exchanges we are working on. We are currently finalising few deatils with some exchanges and we will share the details here with official announcements soon.

Thanks.

what exchange will list for this project after ICO end?
whether the team has made a submission for each exchange or will be done after the ICO is completed as well?
hopefully this project will go to bigger exchange

We have made submissions already, you can be sure about that. However, due to privacy policies and exchanges terms we are not allowed to disclose this information until it is confirmed officially. So kindly bear with us. And yes, Truckcoin will be listed on big exchanges.

Good news! Congratulations once again to the Truckcoin development team.

In any case, will Truckcoin have subaddresses? That is one feature lacking in Aeon that I hope will be carried out and added in a Cryptonight coin someday.
8816  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITCOIN SPORTS BETTING SPORTSBOOK RANKINGS - 2017 UPDATED! on: December 07, 2017, 01:40:33 AM
@RyanK. How did Cloudbet get 2nd place from Betcoin? I heard that they had problems with players' withdrawals. It was the reason why I avoided them for Formula 1 betting even if they had good betting choices.

Also can you do a review of bitsport.bet? Some people say they are also having problems withdrawing from it.
8817  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-06] Token Summit Surprise: OpenBazaar to Launch Layer-Two Coin on: December 07, 2017, 12:33:39 AM
@CryptoBry. An ICO as a framework for obtaining funds was scowled and was disapproved of by bitcoin maximalists, and I reckon Brian Hoffman was one of them until that announcement.

Maybe the pull of gaining 10s of millions of dollars to fund the development Open Bazaar is too much to leave on the table. Who can blame him?

Hi Dear Friends,

I wanted to make an announcement and congratulate Theb for joining our signature campaign. As user bajing didn't reply on any of our notices, we had to remove the user from campaign and replace with the new one.

Congratulations Theb, we are happy to welcome you  Smiley

How can we join the campaign?
8819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ICO Delayed by Ethereum's CryptoKitties Congestion on: December 06, 2017, 03:57:11 AM
This is bad news for ICOs. This new found use case for Ethereum is not only going to explode in popularity, but it is also going to create more competitors who want to make money from the same idea.

I hope Vitalik finds a realistic way to make the platform scale within a year.

The token sale for SophiaTX was originally planned to start on Dec. 5. SophiaTX, according to its website, is developing a blockchain platform for business-to-business use cases.

Yet the activity around CryptoKitties – an ethereum-based app that uses tokens to represent digital cats that can be traded, exchanged or bred to create more e-pets – has effectively clogged up the blockchain. And while some are calling it a "killer app" for ethereum, the resulting interest is resulting in potentially longer wait times for would-be transactors, including those trying to participate in token sales that accept ethers, the cryptocurrency of the ethereum network.

Here are the drivers of F1 2018 for each team:

MERCEDES: Hamilton, Bottas
FERRARI: Vettel, Raikkonen
RED BULL: Verstappen,Ricciardo
FORCE INDIA: Perez,Ocon
RENAULT: Hulkenberg, Sainz
TORO ROSSO: Gasly, Hartley
HAAS: Grosjean, Magnussen
MCLAREN: Alonso,Vandoorne
ALFA ROMEO SAUBER: Leclerc, Ericsson
WILLIAMS: Stroll and 1 among: Kubica(favorite), Kvyat, Wehrlein.

Leclerc seems a great talent.
if he will do a good season in 2018, in 2019 he could go to Ferrari

I want to see Pascal Wehrlein for that 2nd Williams seat or any seat on 2018 for that matter. He is such a wasted young talent who should be given a break at Mercedes, like what Redbull did for Max.

He can be a strong no. 2 for Lewis Hamilton, I reckon, but more exciting.
