8821  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WIN FREE BTC - LIFT's Bitcoin Lottery 2.0 - we need your feedback on: June 12, 2013, 10:21:36 PM
Wanted to reach out and say I got a payout today! My first from the site so I'm pretty stoked, lol.

Now then... is there any chance you can implement a manual withdraw process? I'd rather let things build up a bit rather than have smaller payments coming more often. I'm sure I'm not the only one!
8822  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question: Free Bitcoin Giveaway sites on: June 12, 2013, 10:17:14 PM
you cannot thread it like a job but like a hobby - I mean it is wonderfull how you can join your first 1 BTC yourselves from free sites - try it, its fun!

Exactly! And using a faucet rotator/timer you can run through them quick and easy.

Awesome! Smiley

Thank you for your suggestion and feedback!

I see what you're saying but I hope to implement even more features which give it a more unique edge to it.  I should maybe have held off releasing it until I had added more features but felt it was good to go for v1!  Feel free to post ideas and I'll do my best to implement them!

Thanks for your optimism! You can also create two versions of the program. One with more basic features and one with more detailed ones. This will allow people to get into it and see that they want (or don't) the extra features and make their own decision based on how they are using it as to if they want to make the jump or not.

I have a lot of real world items to sell, would selling in Devcoins help increase their value?

It should, as it gives a value to them. The more value we give to them, the more they will be worth.

Even cash, such as USD, has no true value. It has perceived value, because people are willing to accept it in return for goods and services.
8826  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question: Free Bitcoin Giveaway sites on: June 12, 2013, 09:35:05 PM
sounds like a low work to pay ratio

It kind of is but if you're just doing it while you do other things anyways, it's easy enough to do mindlessly.

I swear I'm not whoring +1's but can someone check if the +1 button at the bottom of the page is working for you?

It's not working for me.

TAKE IT LIKE THE WHORE YOU ARE!!!

Erm, yes, the +1 worked fine for me (changed the icon and said "You +1'd this as (namehere)."

Weird, maybe it's a browser setting then.  Thanks Smiley

NP! I'm using FireFox if that matters. Should work on any browser though because it looks like the default setup for the buttons.

A good way to try is to run Incognito (FF or Chrome) and then give it a go. That disables things that may otherwise keep it from working if it's related to an addon.

Appreciate it.  If I make it to the bike, I am going to make sure it has some logos of BTC on it, and possibly all the peoples screen names who backed and followed me along the way.  I am hoping this can be like the next btc pizza thing!

lol, and then you're going to get me a Ferrari, right? If you do I'll love you forever!

If you get invested, you might be able to get that Ferrari Tongue

lol, keep up your winning streak and I'll see what I can do, Smiley. I'm liking the results so far!

Better than nothing though.

Really don't know how much I agree with that. I've wasted so much time trying to get WINE to work with some things... I could have back a large portion of my life if it had never existed -- I'd have simply stayed with Windows from the get-go, :p.
8832  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question: Free Bitcoin Giveaway sites on: June 12, 2013, 09:12:30 PM
Free BTC sites give a free small amount.
This amount is so tiny you maybe cannot spend it.

Yes you can, :p. As long as you're active on the sites and aren't getting a ton of extremely small payments it's not bad. The more active you are, the larger the payments, the less negativity it has in terms of fees.

For the record, a few people have sent me BTC to bet along with my bets, and I have opened individual spreadsheets for each of them to track their investments.  Any of them may withdrawl at any time.

SuperBit has matched my Starting Bankroll as of today, and I will place the same bets and bet amounts as what I place for myself in this thread
DebitMe has matched my Starting Bankroll as of today, and I will place the same bets and bet amounts as what I place for myself in this thread
Optimator has sent me 5BTC to use to place the same bets, but I will be betting more on each bet for him.  Same games though.

Posting this for the public record, that I hold funds for each of these indiviuals.

If anyone else wants to join in, you may.  PM me or post, and we can discuss.  You will get your own spreadsheet to follow, and can cash in and out immediately and anytime you wish (unless I am asleep obviously).

That's an awesome service! Are you charging anyone for that?

They are providing me a percentage of any PROFIT

Good; I was hoping they would, Smiley. If I had BTC I'd throw it your way too! I like how transparent you are; that's a huge thing for me.

Hehe. Welcome back CoinGator. I won't tell if you don't tell.

Oh, now I have to know. *sits down with his popcorn* It's a Vegas story, right?
8835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: June 12, 2013, 09:08:49 PM

I completely agree. As one of the writers, I am against the dumping mentality. It's only going to hurt things. If everyone is dumping, that's a sign that nobody wants the currency. If nobody wants it, there's no value. If there's no value... it's worthless.

We have to get demand up while decreasing the supply (less selling!).

You are looking at it all wrong. Dumping is a sign of nothing but greed.
There are people buying those dumped coins at a great value.

And we actually need more selling, not less selling. But the selling needs to be set at 1 penny.

But right now supply is overwhelming the demand, so the demand is lowering. This is the big thing we need to fight right now.

If we had some real use (most coins are running their own stores now) for the coins, that would give something to use them for. As it is, they're basically just there.

I love the principles behind DVC. I'll continue standing behind it. But the marketing of it (in regards to giving each coin a true value) is really lacking right now.
8836  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mobo, PSU burned out on: June 12, 2013, 09:05:29 PM
Hi
you have to solder  wires from 12v line from  PSU to the pins in the normal riser (12v pins)
That's above my experties, i neither have the tools or the knowledge to do that Smiley

I only used power risers for 2 cards tho, since the board already got 3 slots that will fit the GPU. So can this still be the case ?

How can i make my own powered risers? I saw some on ebay but they cost 5 times as much as the normal ones.

Good question, and not something I know enough about. However...

Your PSU was 1050w. You were pulling nearly 1000w from the wall.

My understanding is that PSU's "deteriorate" over time (based on power calculators), something about capacitor age or something. Someone who knows more may be able to chime in but I think this could be related? Ex. the power being pushed by the PSU decreased over time until it could no longer handle the load and then was overloaded.

I have heared about the deteriorating PSU's over time aswell, however my PSU was only 2 months old - same with the motherboard so i'm not sure if that applys to my case aswell. I have had experience with broken down PSU's in the past but never like this. It usually is generating extreme heat and you can smell the plastic burning and then it explodes and doesnt work anymore. Mine still works however so i dont know Smiley

I'm going to go with what the others said then and say that it's power coming from the mobo that was the issue (need powered risers). My last PSU actually exploded (smelled burning, then 3 loud bangs and it quit working) but didn't fry anything, HOWEVER I was told that it was pretty lucky as it could have fried everything.

If the PSU is still running, though, the others are likely right.

I wonder why more people aren't on this pool...

We're getting more popular.. 200 connections on the multiport now Smiley

Aww yeah! New coins to celebrate Cheesy BTB, NVC, LKY, FRK, MEM... so many to choose from!

People voted for NVC in the poll, however I'm thinking LKY might be a better choice, it has  a better 14-day average profit ratio and much easier blocks (which means less shares = less load on the db)

I became a sheep. I voted NVC just because most others did. I trust your decision on what coin(s) are the best to go with, Smiley.

DVC has becoming less and less valuable, is nobody buying this coin anymore?

I'm still accumulating it but I'm gonna wait a couple weeks for it to bottom. So far I bought at .00041 and at $.00021.

Now is actually prime time to buy, since people are getting paid the price is just dropping and dropping.

It's funny that it is just limited number of people who are writing that actually are doing the dumping, yet those are the same ones who believe in the project enough to write.. they certainly love that price is above 0 so they can recieve something for their writing however we need to show them that there is a reason to HOLD instead of dumping and they will get far more $$ in the future than what you would get today. In that way DVC is more of an investment tool aswell as a means to get paid for work. When this happens you shoudl see price will only go up, as there are more and more people willing to chip in minor amounts to buy... it adds up over time.

The miners who do shared mining and dump as soon as they get any DVC are another story, I'm not sure how to give them incentive to hold the dvc, but I suspect that unless your using an ASIC right now you won't be moving the market much with your mined DVC so they are really a small part of the problem.

I completely agree. As one of the writers, I am against the dumping mentality. It's only going to hurt things. If everyone is dumping, that's a sign that nobody wants the currency. If nobody wants it, there's no value. If there's no value... it's worthless.

Problems with CSS/Layout in Midori

(image removed)

Very difficult to see the donate address at bottom, for example.

Thanks for the heads-up. Can you please share what your resolution is? I think that may be what the issue stems from.
