8841  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Solving Cross-border Payment Within 2 hours. on: December 29, 2018, 03:07:28 AM
I have a doubt with your testimonial pics. To me, it looks like some online stock photo that you just grab from the internet. Would be better if you can provide a detailed testimony with video, and something like that. On top of that, I only see your apps like another crypto/e-wallet services that use third-party (Payeer, etc) to process the transactions, CMIIW.
8842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warning 200 bitcoins stolen from electrum users via malicious update on: December 28, 2018, 06:40:20 AM
I hope this incident will be a wake-up call for them to react a lot quicker when something like this happens.  Angry

Yeah, I also think they should give a warning after they found out. But the user should be more cautious too tbh. The attack includes downloading from unconfirmed sources, they should at least have suspicion when there is a pop-up showing to download. Well, let's hope this won't happen again.
8843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Pindify Token Blockchain Platform A Market Place For Content Creators on: December 28, 2018, 03:52:55 AM
The roadmap does not explain listing in the market and coinmarketcap, even though this project has been around for a long time, and until now I have not seen Pindify enter in Coinmarketcap  Huh

They already got listed on Dakuce and Latoken, though the volume is very low. Honestly, I don't think listing on CMC or similar site is very important before they don't have any product yet. It's better for me to get a clear understanding of when PDI will be used on the apps/platform.

Seems like you just want to promote your project by sharing your blog post. This is not the correct sub to do this, post it on your ANN thread or maybe altcoins discussion.
8846  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Udemy: Are any of the Udemy courses worth watching? on: December 27, 2018, 09:24:56 AM
I use Udemy, Coursera, and others free learning source from the internet and I do think Udemy is a good one, though I never subscribe to them. If you're looking to learn about crypto, you should try to read free books like Mastering Bitcoin, you can download it from a lot of sources.

Alternatively, you can learn a lot from here (about crypto): https://github.com/cmahon/awesome-cryptocurrency. Most resources are books btw.

When will PDI integration to Pindex happen? It seems like the app keeps getting updated but there is no update on when PDI will be used on the platform. Did the roadmap change? I thought it will be integrated since the 1st year after ICO.
8848  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to archive/save a thread? on: December 27, 2018, 04:05:01 AM
Alternatively, you can use https://web.archive.org.
It's a little bit slow compared to archive.is in my computer, but it is good.
8849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ETERBASE: Europe's Premier Digital Asset Exchange on: December 27, 2018, 03:35:39 AM
In fact, we can not predict the prices of xbase token now because the Token not yet listed in high-quality exchanges as well as the launch of the  ETERBASE exchange project has not yet determined the beginning of the work waiting to enter the latoken platform and we expect positive trading through which likely to be included in the coinmarketcap

There is no need to predict the price, you can see it live from any exchanges. As I mentioned before, unlocking before the product live is a bad idea since there is no demand for the tokens. I expect we'll have at least -90% price dip until the product launch, this definitely hurt investors on ICO. Let's hope the product is great, because if they aren't then going to -99.99% is possible. I even leave Telegram group because price talk is way too much.

Btw, trading fees should exclusively use XBASE in order to push the price up after the platform launch and it should get burned.
8850  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You have exceeded the limit of 2 personal messages per day on: December 27, 2018, 03:01:39 AM
I don't know the number of PMs is limited, but I usually don't use this feature. Is it because the account is too new, so there is this restriction.

AFAIK, buying copper membership will allow newbies to bypass their limitations, and act as a Member. One of them includes sending PM. You can read more about this on copper membership details.

Wow - can we have an option to block messages from copper members?

Unless there is enough case of abuse by a copper member I doubt theymos will apply it.
8851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's identity on: December 26, 2018, 12:16:02 PM
H.J is from the UK and the first block mined includes the following text "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks" (headline of the Times : UK newspaper). Moreover, the written english used by Satoshi in his posts and writtings is said to have british structure/words. Heitler studied computer science in Yalle University from which he graduated in 1997 and has been working with code since then. He has a very entreprenarial profile.

There is a ton of people out there who can write British English & study computer science.

Besides, Satoshi's contribution and involvement in bitcoin seems to stop in mid-2010 and according to HJ's linkedin profile:

For someone who loves to be anonymous to the core, it's pretty weird to see that "Satoshi" explicitly told his involvement. I'm pretty sure he won't do that. So no, this guy is not Satoshi I believe.
8852  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hacked/Sold account on: December 26, 2018, 05:27:55 AM
First of all understand what I am trying to say,why you didn't leave any feedbacks on this account then how can you expect some other (DT) member to do that.

I think he believes it is useless for him to do that, therefore he requests DT member to tag the account. He showed his interest in this matter by creating a topic about it, even though he didn't leave any feedback.

But honestly, I don't understand why the name-calling was used. Can't we at least have some normal discussion without name-calling and drama?
8853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Take with Vitalik] Does ETH need transaction fee? on: December 26, 2018, 04:33:06 AM
I like ETH more than EOS (I never use EOS too).

There is a difference between "too high" and "affordable transaction fee". EOS model might be good if you use the network many times, but for people who don't use it regularly, paying membership fee is weird to me. On top of that, they're in the process of scaling the network so that fees can go as low as possible.

EOS has "lower transaction fees" but they force you to pay for membership, while ETH fees are dynamics based on the network. EOS can do that because their validator is rich enough imo (Huobi, etc), while ETH (at this moment) is still using PoW.

8855  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 3.3.2: SyntaxError: invalid syntax on: December 26, 2018, 04:09:29 AM
That's not what it means. It means the python interpreter he has does not think the code is correct. That's because he's using an older version of python as NeuroticFish pointed out above. He needs to update to python 3.6 or stick with electrum 3.2.3.

Thanks for correcting me. I just try it by myself and the error case is different. Silly me. Needs to learn more.
8856  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Will the legalization of cryptocurrency helps to come out of the global economic on: December 25, 2018, 03:53:50 AM
If legalization == cryptocurrency as sound money (can be used for payment/exchange) then it might help. When this happens, I doubt it will replace fiat 100%. We will use crypto as a store of value and sometimes cash it out when they need. A key difference is, we can use it without any anxiety. Both crypto & fiat will coexist in most part of the world, I believe. It's hard to imagine government allows themselves to loose control of their own fiat systems.

The current financial systems are flawed because fiat is not really sound, it's not market goods and prone to manipulation by one party. Even government that run the system itself don't trust fiat (they store gold, etc). That's why the crisis happens.

8857  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make money with bitcoin price dropping? on: December 25, 2018, 03:20:15 AM
I believe this is normal in one day and you don't need to worry much about the current market because I believe prices will soon rise again best. I personally believe that the market will start a new uptrend and everything will become more stable in the future

That's not the right mindset if you want to get as much money as possible. For professional traders bear or bull market is the place to make profits. However, margin trading (short/long) is very risky and prone to 'manipulation', especially when we have futures market that doesn't get backed by real Bitcoin. I'd not recommend any newbies or people who lack trading knowledge to do that. You can lose all of your money for a simple mistake.
8858  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 3.3.2: SyntaxError: invalid syntax on: December 25, 2018, 02:54:58 AM
AFAIK invalid syntax means there is no command registered with "run_electrum" by phyton3. It means python can't find any program/file/command named "run_electrum" from your working directory, installed module or path variable. I don't think this is dependency issues.

Update: The problem is missing dependencies, update your phyton.

Where did you try to run the command? From the desktop?
Try to run the command from the Electrum files folder that you've downloaded. Download the latest electrum package, it contains a file named "run_electrum". This is what executed by that command.

You can simply use this command to run Electrum from the root directory:
Code:
./run_electrum

8859  Other / Serious discussion / Re: On altcoins announcements on: December 24, 2018, 08:55:38 AM
It's quite normal. Everyone who runs a business (altcoin == business) will promote their project as the best one even if there are dozens of similar projects out there. I don't think that's a problem, because most people already know that they need to do their own due diligence. I personally think it is weird if they don't show what they're capable of doing or what they promised (even lie sometimes, but hey, our common sense can know it).

What trouble me the most is the number of spam bot, spam accounts and merit abuse on those board.
