May I ask how much time did you "invested" in gathering up all this coins? How did this "mission" came to your mind? Was it something that you supported right from the start, or the notion of having a physical coin of BTC was too much to pass on?
I kept my eye out for listings in the early years. The only coins I found difficult to get my hands on were the s2 2011 1 BTC brass coin and the 1000 BTC gold coin. I didn’t set out to collect them all at first. I liked the idea of them so I purchased one of the originals with the error. Then I liked the silver ones so I bought them. At that point it just seemed like I might as well complete the collection so I slowly grabbed the rest. If I had more time before BTC got ridiculously expensive I probably would have purchased the 5 & 25 BTC rounds as well. I had long wanted to make my own silver coin and when I discovered BTC one of the first things I did was reach out to Gavin Andresen for advice on a coin I wanted to make. He didn’t seem to like the idea because it wasn’t tied to any actual Bitcoin (several years later I made them anyway, my Bitcoin binary rounds). Casascius coins seemed to solve that problem of not being tied to Bitcoin but ran into a different issue with selling loaded coins that needed to be solved. Nevertheless, I wanted to own what I considered to be a great innovation on the idea of a coin and so I did.

But feel free to prove me wrong: how many of the thousands of different tokens that were created in the past years have actually solved a real problem?
Too many for me to sit here and name to be honest. When the Bitcoin narrative pivoted from being a transfer of value to a store of value many other coins and tokens were necessary for businesses to continue operating their models based on low cost transfers without crippling the user experience. You may not like the way many users chose to solve the problem that Bitcoin’s pivot from it’s originally stated purpose created, but their existence can’t be denied or written off as only to enrich themselves. Some projects that stayed and tried to innovate in order to continue functioning on Bitcoin’s blockchain have even been criticized for the shortfalls that continuing to use BTC instead of a lower cost altcoin have created. As for the actual topic of the thread, I think this was started 4 days late.

Looks like Paul Pierce was let go by ESPN. I guess he probably shouldn’t have posted that video of him at a house party with a bunch of strippers, I’m not sure what he was thinking. With all that’s going on today and athletes not respecting women he had to of known this was coming. It looks like his excuse is that he meant to hit private only but the video was posted publicly for everyone to see. I guess we’ll have to wait and hear what his public apology sounds like. He wasn’t very good as a commentator anyway, so I don’t think fans will miss him too much. While he may want to be remembered for saying, “I called game.” I think more likely he’ll be remembered for having to be carried off the floor during a game because he crapped his pants. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fchumley.barstoolsports.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2019%2F06%2F06%2FScreen-Shot-2019-06-06-at-10.33.16-AM.png&t=664&c=o22mLt3Zs4Fdpw)

Price of Cybertruck when ordered: 6.59229 BTCCurrent price of my Cybertruck: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Flangrock.org%2Fstats%2Fbtcval.png%3Fusd%3D56900%26size%3D13%26bg%3Ddddddd%26fg%3Dff0000&t=664&c=0ujZMQudk4bm8Q) I added this to the OP. Fun to see the price of Cybertruck fall so much in BTC terms so quickly. Could you imagine what this forum's reaction would be if Elon posted here? " Tesla is a scam! Elon Musk isn't being honest about the value decline of his vehicles!" LOL More seriously, this is a very good example of why things cannot be priced over time in BTC terms. The price change is 100% a reflection of Bitcoin's exchange rate movement and nothing to do with the underlying asset, in this case the Tesla Cybertruck which has only become more valuable over this price period. I am curious as to what you are doing that makes you need a cybertruck.
It's more about what I can't do because I don't have a cybertruck. Some people get it, some don't. You don't, and that's ok.

Here is the video for those who are interested, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfgnxGZs7o0I think it's no surprised that most of the athletes right now are into bitcoin or crypto in general. And this is a good news to us hearing someone as famous as Giannis, mentioning BTC, who knows maybe he has invested already. NBA and crypto, a pairing made in heaven. It's crazy to think that Giannis even knows what Bitcoin is. It goes to show you that most folks nowadays are aware of what it is and that it's making a lot of people a lot of money. I'm not sure this is a good sign of a healthy market, but hopefully the bubble isn't ready to pop yet.

Why isn't this thread in the altcoin section? Can anyone make a shitcoin fork and tie it to Bitcoin's blockchain and be able to post wherever they want on the forum or is this something reserved only for the Core development team?
I'm just curious at the politics that are behind the lightning network getting an altcoin pass while it's supporters call other projects shitcoins... What about this shitcoin has some Bitcoin supporters so willing to look the other way? I'm genuinely curious.

This is one of the problems with the transparent blockchain: Anybody in the world can peek at your finances, then offer you unsolicited advice about how to run your business. (Or worse.)
Indeed. My favorite are the people who say things like, "Why haven't you spent your savings on x or y? If I had that much saved I would have spent it on..." Well, that's why you have no savings and are mad at innocent Bitcoin vendors for accepting your BTC... LOL There's no shortage of armchair quarterbacks in the crypto community. I still think transparency is a positive with Bitcoin though. Transparency is awesome, the community and possibly society as a whole just need to learn they aren't in control of other people's money and to use it as a verification tool, not an unsolicited business consultation request for those who aren't well versed in finance.

I don't know how the signature campaign works. Hoping and believing that am gonna partake in one someday. As a newbie, my whole attention and motive for joining this forum are to be more exposed to crypto, to teach my community women about digital currency.
It's pretty simple. You wear a signature and you get paid when you post. Granted the payments are small, but if you're stacking stats any way you can it is a great addition to the arsenal. You just have to get used to making long winded posts that typically don't advance the conversation much, which is why people hate signature spammers. It's hard to deny that the revenue they pump into the community is a good thing for those involved and merchants that may benefit from increased sales, but I don't think the forum's knowledge base is any better off due to their existence.

Historically, people have purchased a Ferrari as a sign of their wealth from bitcoin.
Interesting and unexpected. I've read so many times "when Lambo?" and not at all "when Ferrari?" You are right, bitcoin hodl'ers bought Lamborghinis to show off their bitcoin wealth. I updated my post accordingly. The Cybertruck isn't something I'd buy to "show off" as there are certainly more expensive and flashy vehicles that could be purchased. It's functionality and durability are things that have yet to be matched by any other civilian vehicle. It's new manufacturing process makes it quite a bit cheaper than it's competition as well. I think the more people learn about these trucks, the more coveted they will become. If anyone was interested in a vehicle to purchase as a show of wealth, I think the Seabreacher would make a far better choice than either a Tesla or a Lambo. " Roads?! Where we're going We don't need Roads!!!"

I was going to buy a Tesla Cybertruck anyway. The ability to do so with Bitcoin is just icing on the cake. Not to mention that Elon is going to hold the Bitcoin and not exchange it for fiat, and you have a win-win for everyone. I can't wait to get my hands on my Tesla. Been a long time coming. You can follow my Tesla Cybertruck purchase using Bitcoin here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5326636.0

Getting close now. I'm seeing commercials featuring the artists who will be performing at the event... I really don't like this fight. Jake Paul seemed to pick the weakest professional fighter he could find when it comes to boxing, and then made sure he suffered recent injuries to give himself a chance. Seems like striving to grab the low hanging fruit, but that seems to be Jake's act. I think while I'd love to see Logan knock out Floyd, I wouldn't mind seeing Ben take out Jake. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Wow, this thread blew up! I hadn't realized. I'm glad that people are not just dumping their signature campaign rewards on a gambling habit, although I'm sure plenty of that exists. I've even been guilty of blowing my earnings once or twice.
Mostly I think of it as just another source of BTC. My personal GPU miner brings in a nice little bit of additional funds to play with, and signature earnings are a nice addition to that. It all adds up, especially when you're talking about BTC over time!

It's not that big of a deal, especially since they didn't even talk about Bitcoin seriously but just got in briefly mentioned in a text message. To be honest, they're a little late with Bitcoin. Mr. Robot has cryptos as one of the central topics of the show; The Big Bang Theory did an episode dedicated to Bitcoin. Big Mouth mentions Bitcoin, and so does Atypical. I mean, it's better late than never, but a brief mention like this is probably something that only Bitcoin users will actually notice and appreciate; it's not much publicity-wise. Don’t forget the best Bitcoin inclusion into pop culture, The Simpsons. Still my favorite mention of Bitcoin also. Not surprising but what you’d come to expect from The Simpson’s. I think The Good Wife was the first TV series to feature Bitcoin at length though. At the time it was amazing to see that Bitcoin had made it to Hollywood.

I also would be very concerned about posting them. It’s a beautiful collection Og. I remember from many moons ago when I first discovered this forum seeing some of these coins ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) It is indeed a concern. I don't think I'll be shipping any of mine across the pond, but I've had pretty good luck shipping domestically. *knocks on wood It would be great to find one single buyer for the entire collection and meet with them in person to ensure a smooth transition. I've run out of duplicates to sell though, so I may have to start digging into this collection soon. I think I will likely start with the Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl coin as it wasn't pictured in the collection anyway. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Anybody have any idea what those are going for these days or want to make an offer? The brass coins are also likely "soon" to the auction block so if you'd like to make a purchase out of the public eye, PM me.

I'm just now reading about this situation. A great read. This is the sort of crazy drama that always seems to pop it's head up around bubble time, especially when it comes to NiceHash. I have always recommended to people that mining on NiceHash with their GPUs is a great way to get started in the crypto space. It does seem like there's a suspicious amount of shenanigans coming from there though. This latest event having all sorts of questionable behavior that is suspiciously self serving.

I haven't done much gambling with crypto bookmakers, but I haven't had any complaints with my experience at stake.com. Granted I would prefer a gambling house that didn't make you register an account, the way that directbet.eu used to, but other than that it is a good user experience. If I were to give a suggestion, I would like to see more prop bets for sporting events.

With trust flags negative trust feedback has become redundant and a negative factor for the community. It should probably be done away with altogether. I doubt negative feedback has had much of an effect if any when it comes to stopping scams and flags can handle the job just fine.
