8861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things on my mind about bitcoin lately on: May 29, 2018, 06:22:58 AM
So I obviously hope I never have to deal with the first of these two issues I have but what if Gaven Andresen dies off and doesn’t pass on the alert/control features that Satoshi bestowed to him, would community have to legit hard fork to even stay in the realm of ‘new development’ not sure how that works as I’m not a dev at all, hence my question. Not sure how the BIP’s are actually approved or implemented and ATM believing is all basically comes down to getting Gavin’s ultimate approvi. Which like I said I worry may at some point ultimately be a issue.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about who's who behind Bitcoin core. Don't make things complicated dude, it is non-issue as far as I know.

Another thing I’ve wondered since getting into BTC is what happens when all BTC are mined, people hodl, and people die? Is there any contingency in place or being planned to recover stale or dead bitcoins in wallets that are OBVIOUSLY non active addresses? Or will everything that is owned by dead investors or give up investors be doomed to simply be a burn loss?...

There is no contingency for a lost bitcoin. Once its lost you cannot recover it. That's why its been practiced that you have to really take care of your wallet's private key. That's why its called private key, because obviously you are the only one who knows it and can retrieved your wallet. Protect it at all cost and I'm sure that you will be fine.
8862  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Disable person on: May 29, 2018, 05:11:30 AM
This is a common thing happens in different countries where the government mandatory give assistance to there citizens with disability, and the sad truth is that the assistance from government is not enough.

This is the perfect time to introduce bitcoin to persons with disability by doing this they don't need to rely only on government assistance, because they are now started to earn there own money to support their needs.

Well crypto is really for everyone including person with disabilities. However, what if the person is blind? How can he/she do like cyrpto trading. There are a lot of disable person who works mind me and they don't need to rely on governments assistance whatsover because they didn't see their disabilities as hindrances. But crypto has some exceptions, like person who is blind and totally needs someone so it will just a liability for them.
8863  Economy / Speculation / Re: how low can it go on: May 29, 2018, 04:58:07 AM
Bitcoin price is now below 7,400$. We are seeing constant declining of the price since 5th may. Can you guys tell me how low it may go or we can hope that it may rise after this month.

Right now we are hovering just above $7100-$7200 levels. Remember that the last bottom was around $6500 so we are just like $500 below, so its possible that we might hit that bottom again. But we have to look at the $7000 support level first and see if its gonna hold or simple crumble in the pressure. Of course there's not doubt that we can bounce back, but its gonna be like a struggle again. June-July was a good month last year, so maybe we can see it doing the same this year. But its really difficult to say when we are going to bounce back because there's no positive news that is on the horizon, unless investors suddenly flocks the market again. So just continue to hold and wait for another break out run. Maybe its just around the corner.
8864  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-27] Digital Currency Prices Keep Falling, with Bitcoin Trading Below $8 on: May 29, 2018, 04:11:29 AM
When the market quickly jumped from ~7k to 9k, I wasn't very enthusiastic about it, because it happened so quickly without any clear reason, and the market was bearish for only a few months after the ATH. I expected the bear market to last way longer, and maybe right now we are returning to it. People tried to bring back the hype by claiming that Bitcoin will go to $50k or higher within a few years, and maybe it will happen, but I feel like now is too early for a bull run. On the other hand, this can be just a reaction to bad news, we've seen it happening with "China bans Bitcoin" last year, when the price crashed quickly, but then rebounded in a few weeks.

The China bans bitcoin was really one of the worst we've been, it was like a month or so before we have recovered by from disaster and then hits all-time-high at the end of the year. So I wouldn't be surprise if the same thing happens this year. I agree that the jump from $7000K-$10000 was very abrupt and everyone jumping for joy, and saying that the bear market is over. But if you look closely at the TA, it was overbought so most likely if will go down again as what we have seen. And then follow by bad news one after another. But I'm fairly optimistic that when everything settles down a bit, in a week or two we will see it gradually bouncing back around $8000. No need to panic here and we all know how this market works and reacts.
8865  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-24] Markets Update: Stormy Weather Continues to Plague Cryptocurrency on: May 25, 2018, 06:01:13 AM
But we are going to weathered this storm, and remain on the top of the game. And after the launching of investigators on the supposedly trading malpractices, some of the coins have bounce back Bitcoin already trading above $7600 and didn't went below $6000 as other may have wanted to re-enter the picture again, ETH above $600 and gaining quick and most of the top 10 coins having a 1%-3% increased already which is a good sign that we are still here and no matter bumps around the road, we will eventually reach our destination in the next coming months.
8866  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: KuCoin vs Binance on: May 25, 2018, 05:54:29 AM
So I've been doing some research on this topic.

Personally, I prefer KuCoin, since their UI looks really nice and I like the KCS bonus (I referred myself Tongue ) Also they add the new currencies faster.

What are your thoughts on this?

Some links I found:

https://coinanalysis.io/kucoin-vs-binance/

https://cryptofastlane.com/blog/kucoin-vs-binance-exchange-kucoin-better-binance-best-cryptocurrency-exchange/
I believe that Binance is the best choice at the moment, you can see that Binance is having the world's largest market capitalization, which will lead to rapid liquidity, extremely confidentiality. great and there are many incentives and rewards for those who participate in this trading platform. In addition, Binance floor has not been hacker yet.

There was one attempt though to hack the Binance was it was not successful. And the hackers ended up losing money than actually stealing, that's why the table has somewhat turned. The way they explained is that they being alerted by some users and to cut the line, they immediately stop processing withdrawals, while leaving deposits and trading to function normally. So they really did a good thing to stop everything from the start that's why they still remain the best trading exchanges so far.
8867  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where's the bottom of this drop on: May 24, 2018, 12:24:58 PM
Anyone calling the bottom?  I can see this hitting 6500-7000 before reversing back to 9-10k, at this point I'm not sure if selling and re-buying on the following dip is best or if this will rally well past 10k.  getting antsy but being patient and adding on where I can.

The previous (double)bottom is $6500, so that will be the gauge. However, it seems that we are somewhat stabilizing around the $7200-$7300 range right now so I don't see it going below the $7000. So I would rather hold and not offloading today because we might see some reversals in the next 48 hours. Of course its always good to buy at any dip. I also have buying schedules at $7000 so lets see how it goes. Those negative news really put a lot of doubt on investors but this we have been in this situation and we know how to react.
8868  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I became a victim of the fraud on: May 24, 2018, 11:54:04 AM
It is sad to see that cryptocurrency is being used to scam people and put the blame to people who are working diligently. This just like one of the new that I have heard in tge Philippines where they used BTC to scam millions worth of fiat by using an MLM type of scheme. Based on your story it seems like it was your supervisors advise to put it in the BTC wallet so it can be part of his/her ploy to put the blame to you. I am just speculating thing but It would need to be further investigated by your company and hopefully your name will be cleared.

The Philippine case is different though, its a Ponzi scheme and the culprit was caught. In the OP's case, it looks like he/she was really used as a sort of middleman to broker something and worst is that he/she is totally compromise, As we have noticed, he/she didn't reply so it only means one thing. He/she is out of the job, his personal data compromise and worst part is that is involves a lot of money (4,500 euros). Hope though that he/she is ok and has since move on.
8869  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-24] Tech Giant GMO to Roll Out World's First 7nm Bitcoin Miner on: May 24, 2018, 11:40:41 AM
Oh ok, its about time that GMO should launched their own bitcoin mining hardware to challenge Bitmain. GMO has already made a lot of press release last year about joining the picture so I'm glad that they are on track so it going to be interesting to see how it goes in the next coming months. We all know how Japanese technology is, its far more superior than anyone so if new miners wanted to get their hands on this kind of business, its much better to try GMO's gear and test its durability. Now the ball is on the other side, time for Bitmain and has something to match GMO, I'm not saying that it might break their monopoly, but its good to see some competition.
8870  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: MrGox Trustee Sells more $700 Milion Today ( Bitcoin goes down again ) on: May 24, 2018, 11:22:58 AM
It has been proven beyond reasonable doubt that Alexander Vinnik was the mastermind behind the Mt Gox robbery. So is there a chance that the lost coins may be recovered from him, and distributed to the rightful owners?

If I understand the situation correctly Vinnik wasn´t even involved in the MtGox hack.
However, he was the mastermind behind BTC-E, which was used to launder the coins
obtained in the hack.

Many experts believe that they really did this in a clever way and that even many coins
on legit exchanges like Kraken or Bitstamp are actually coming from the Gox hack. Tracking tools
for analyzing the blockchain weren´t as sophisticated back in the day as they are today and this
makes the analysis even more difficult.

That's why BTC-E was taken down because it might be one of the gateway of the tainted Mt. Gox hacked coins. However, it has to be proven and I remember that someone has put up a good timeline as to how Vinnik or BTC-E was involved here. So investigators have their hands full in this investigation and since Vinnik already admits his guilt its not a matter of time before authorities will have the complete picture as to who really is behind the Mt. Gox hack and other exchanges (knowing and unknowingly) involvement.

Hello,
Anyone know about Eaglebit Trade and if it is safe to invest with?

Looks like a fairly new website:

Its weird that a lot of spelling mistakes, bad grammar (maybe English is not their first language), although what's caught me is their "Corporate Body", LOL, why don't they show the real faces of the President down to the Master Distributor (I don't have any idea what it means), plus the fact that they have no social media contacts besides e-mail is a red flag to me. So I advise you to stay away.
8872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in Bitcoin Diamond BCD? on: May 24, 2018, 10:48:27 AM
This is one of the worst bitcoin forks and has no future. Even bitcoin gold is lame but it has a high market cap. The diamond variety sounds good in name, but in this case gold is worth more than diamonds. Although to be honest, you should just stick with bitcoin, these forks will die off eventually

Obviously all bitcoin forks has no future, expect for BCH, because the people behind are really doing their best to really promote this as the real bitcoin. But if not for them, BCH will simply go down die as well together will all the Bitcoin forks. As for the OP, let me give you a good rude awakening:

That is a fork coin and look what happened.

https://www.ccn.com/bitcoin-gold-hit-by-double-spend-attack-exchanges-lose-millions/

So just like @btyco, just stick with bitcoin and you will be fine. But if you wanted to have problems later, then its your call.
8873  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Hitbtc death? on: May 24, 2018, 10:42:16 AM
Hitbtc lose popularity because they have very high price of the transaction. When I bought 25000 OCN tokens I lose 5000 coins on the comission. I didn't prefer use this exchange. They should do rebrending

Yes, I think for USDT withdrawals, its about $100, which is so high assuming that you are going to withdraw less than amount. As I have said before, I already withdrawal most of my funds and everything went smooth. However, let me just warn newbies, as to be very careful not just HitBTC for that matter, but all other exchanges. This is just part of the process, if you don't trust the exchanges then get out.

hitbtc is working but with a error.

The problem is when I am trying to withdraw using BTC I got this message:

The owner of r.sb.hitbtc.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

Hmmm. weird error because I just access it now and seems everything is working. Although I don't used FF because its too slow. Maybe you have to check everything, you might get phished, so be careful.

Edit: I just saw this

8874  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Moving towards 6000$ on: May 24, 2018, 10:30:10 AM
Its not new to some people cause some already predicted that bitcoin will drop at 4000$ or even lower, but still the price is  high compared last year when bitcoin is only 1000$.

As compare to the start of 2017 when bitcoin price is below $1000? Yes the current price is like X7 and that's something to cheer about. But the problem is that there are a lot who FOMO and bought bitcoin around the 5 digit mark and they are the first one to bitch around when the price is going down. Well, the price seems to really move down very fast as there are news that regulatory body from USA and Canada are doing a coordinate investigations on ICO, sadly though is has put a lot of pressure on the price that's why it plummeted in the last 24 hours or so. But I believed that there are strong support at $7000 at least, so we not might see it going below that price in the next couple of days.
8875  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-24] Regulatory Uncertainty Pushes BTC Below $8,000, Tom Lee Predicts a on: May 24, 2018, 10:23:23 AM
I really like Tom Lee's very bullish predictions despite the so many bans, regulations going around the ecosystem.  Maybe one day we can truly appreciates Lee as the only one really trying to put some confidence back in the market with his upbeat forecast. As far as the coordinated efforts by the between US and Canada, well its good though to see and find out what ICO's are indeed scams but as the same time we also need to see reports who are really legit. Although the damage has been done already as the market quickly go South in the last 48 hours because of this news, but just like any crash or price correction, we are going to bounce back again and bitcoin will not be tired to fight this kind of negativity. Hope Tom Lee's prediction though will happen at the end of the year.
8876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Africa Kidnappers demands Ransom in Bitcoin to free teenager on: May 24, 2018, 10:12:12 AM
A criminal gang in South Africa who kidnapped a teenage boy on Sunday are demanding a ransom in bitcoin crytocurrency of nearly $120,000, police said.

http://www.africanews.com/2018/05/23/south-africa-kidnappers-demand-ransom-in-bitcoin-to-free-teenager
How will such news affect critics view of bitcoins?

Of course this will be another negative for bitcoin as a whole. And those who are against bitcoin will really used this crimes another way to opposed it in every way. Maybe those critics inside Africa will blow this out of the proportion and painted bitcoin as a tool for criminals. As for the price, it may have affected it but I don't think that it will be long term though. Right now the price keeps going down and maybe this news have added fuel to the fire. But if you are going to analyze it, criminals will be criminals and will exploit any system that they can find and crypto is one system that they can take full advantage because of its (pseudo) anonymity.
8877  Economy / Speculation / Re: Survived 8000, time for $10k? on: May 23, 2018, 03:07:36 PM
I suppose today's price of bitcoin should answer that question, as we can see that the price fell below the $8000 it has been dancing around for the past weeks. However, things are not yet settled as we may see a steep decline in the coming days.
well, I think this time bitcoin still have some issues which made the price is under $ 8000. it was a bad thing, but still for now price bitcoin decreased. wait a few months will probably be a good thing.

Issues will not go away and will remain with us throughout bitcoin's journey. We have been hovering around the $8000 mark for the last couple of week but suddenly fell below today. But I don't think that we can dip further below $7000. We have tested it before and we know that it has the ability to bounce back. Also, its not just bitcoin, but the rest of the crypto's and even stock market. So it means that something big has triggered this down turn. To get to that 5 digit mark, we really need to see some news, a big one, the will put the price on track on another all-time-high. G20 regulations will be coming this July, and I'm hoping that this will be the catalyst to the bull run that we wanted to see.
8878  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Hitbtc death? on: May 23, 2018, 02:51:35 PM
I think they are still working, but the only problem is that their support unit is fucked up. They barely answer to questions,  issues or help out in  those whom are sucked. They seems to fomerly be a good exchange but its now as if they abandon their users to themselves. Most users get their stuck up for days even to months. And because of this, most people term them as scammers.

After a few days of scare, and 502 errors, it looks like they are up and running again. And as per coinmarketcap, they are still in the top 10 so I'm sure that they will not run a exit scam strategy. Yes, I agree with you support sucks although I'm one of the lucky one who haven't had any issues on them yet but the fee's is somewhat killing me an it took like 3 weeks to a month before I can get my funds without the support letting me know what's keeping them from sending my money. Tickets after tickets with no answer, that's why I already move my funds out and relieve myself of headaches in the future.

Just to give you a heads up guys, I just moved out my almost 2 ETH out of HitBTC and a got a warning that there might be delays and it might take as long as 1 month to get my funds. They are citing issues on their side and ETH network as well. But knowing that ETH network is not that clogged as much as Bitcoin, I click Yes and in matter of minutes I got my ETH on my wallet. So its all good and I'm happy that I was able to get out now.
8879  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = $7,992.71 should i buy and wait or on: May 23, 2018, 01:19:46 PM
1 BTC = $7,992.71 is it now the right time for a person to buy bitcoins and keep to earn more profits OR i still have to hold?

LOL. If you have the funds ready then you should go for it and don't wait till some "experts" here says that it will still bottom.  Its already below $8000 so this is a perfect buying point. The price is very fragile that tomorrow might be a day that it will bounce back and recover above $8000 mark.

1 BTC = $7,992.71 is it now the right time for a person to buy bitcoins and keep to earn more profits OR i still have to hold?
Or if you can with for a little while because it will decrease more than that. But if you can not wait that you can even buy now because what matters is, the price now is at the perfect position to buy, such price is enough when btc will move for making a come back up to $10k. If $10k reach from $7,992.71 this is already a success for you.

What if it doesn't go below the current price? As I have said, no need to wait, its another perfect opportunity being offered by the market, why not take your chance and see how it goes for you in the next couple of days?
8880  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does holding long term can be worthy despite of unpredictable market? on: May 23, 2018, 01:14:08 PM
I am still eager to think more positive ways despite how unpredicatable the market is. We couldn't control it actually because if there's an option to manipulate the current market, I woudl really love to do that. We're bound here to earn profit so the desire is always there , but since the current situation remarkably stressing us out, maybe we must stay calm for the main time.

You really need to be calm and not panic with this situation. Just remain optimistic here, although we are struggling and trying to get up and bounce back, sometimes it doesn't work as we wanted to be. As far as holding, definitely its a good strategy, the question is what coins are you going to hold? And how long, do you have that mental toughness not to be tempted just because its being pump. I still prefer to HODL bitcoin long term, might takes months to really see it bounce back, but I'm fairly sure that it will recover. We only need one good news, to turn the tide to our favor, so yes, just continue to HODL and wait for another break out run.
