Update: NewbCoin is in the rotation right now. They are not currently paying out but I have been ensured that they are keeping all of the input addresses and will be calculating the totals during the payout.

mtnox.com now reporting in Chrome Browser as likely phishing site.

Was this a typo and you meant mtgox.com?

I think what's happening here is people are doing typos or clicking the wrong link and not realizing it.

Ex. mtgox and mtqos look very similar so if you're not being attentive it's easy to be sucked in.

crazylikeafox is 100% right. PayPal is not a bank in the US. In fact, they fight tooth and nail to NOT be regulated like a bank. They are not a gov't. entity either. Lying to them is totally legal as long as you are not getting the PP debit card involved (because that requires a SSN.) The topic of "stealth accounts" has been extensively studied before in other online communities.

As for what specific vcc's and vba's work, that varies all the time. What worked last year may not work now. Just gotta keep up with the developments.

I wasn't aware of this. It would help explain why they screw over so many people though.

We registered the domain by proxy because, understandably, I dont like my personal information all over the internet - I'm sure any of you would do the same at first.

No. That is not how business is done. That is how scams are done.

If you want to do business, kindly provide some verifiable material. Your name, CV, LinkedIn profile, business registration. Advertise your skills. Who are you, and why would anyone trust you with their money. Obviously, you don't really care about getting real customers in by providing good reasons for them. You care about getting the suckers in. That's what all this looks like.

You hear that?  That my friend is the deafening sound of silence.

Yeah, this is something that makes no sense. I don't know of any reputable business that says "you can send us money but... we won't give any information about our company. Just hope you get what you were going for!"

It'd be different if you were an informational site. But when you are running a business, it's important to make people feel secure with throwing their money to you.

Still can't test Multiport as my rig is getting fixed by those Geek Squad idiots. Won't replace my cards under warranty unless they "stress test". Oh well, I'll wait. My laptop doesn't run CGMiner.

lol, "stress test" is their form of mining. "Let me run this for a week to ensure it's working properly..."

I thought if u made it an "unoffical" thread I wouldn't cost anything. I'm most likely wrong on that tho
We tried that and it got removed.

I guess if you started one, they could not deny you your 1st amendment right to comment on the site.

Regardless we should be up there with an "official" thread soon.

Thank you for your support!

Kind of surprised that they removed it. But on the note of "first amendment rights," those don't apply to forums. The owner could be a dictator that only allows certain messages if they want.

Site appears to currently be down.
Also, when switching altcoins, it appears my hashrate changes even though they are all scrypt. Any reason to that?

Site is up for me.

Regarding hash rate changes, do they go back up? Mine slow down at the beginning and then speed back up (I assume "revving up" or something) within a few seconds.

acs26 i'm sure my date will be a success with this lipgloss Wink

Wow. Lipgloss means that you'll get a future boyfriend.

The logic is strong in this one.

Hi. You must be foreveralone.jpg. Let me show you around!

"Mmmm, those are some puuurty lips" -- take it as you will!

But yeah, he does seem mad. I'm thinking maybe it is one of my trolls from somewhere else. I have stalkers from other forums that will comment on anything I post there, and I haven't been posting there for a while. With the loss of my brother and everything that followed.

Plus I was on here a lot even before that, so they probably miss me. They don't have anyone to stalk and talk shit to.

Lol.  Sorry about your bro man.

As far as being in charge.  I don't know a lot about digital coins but I'd say since the founder can choose to change the rules (ie. hard fork) and also the distribution model along with maintaining the coin or letting it die then he's pretty much in charge.  And who's to say unthinkigbit doesn't have a large majority stake.

I mean he works and earns coins as well and he could have easily accumulated additional large amounts of coins if he wanted to gain more control for relatively little money.
Thank you.

All very true. And I just thought about something, he does have control of the code correct? I'm not exactly sure what all that entails. I'm really not a techy person, just happen to be on a computer.

Based on my limited understanding there are multiple "trusted nodes" that are run by different people. For a hard fork to happen, pool owners have to update, people have to update their clients and the nodes (I think?) have to update.

I think this helps put in a bit of checks-and-balances.

Forget WINE its a waste of time. Same goes for that xbox 1 spying apparatus. Why would you want to pay a lot of money so that someone can eavesdrop 24/7 in your living room or bedroom.

This is why I said we need a WINE alternative, :p.

As for the Kinect, I couldn't agree more. When I heard that it's built-in *and* that you have to be online to play your single-player games, that set me away from the Xbox One completely. I can't believe people would buy it after that.

prev_block hash is about 1/3 to 1/2 the total data that is being saved in EVERY share record inserted into the DB, and it's an absolutely *USELESS* thing to save with the share.  It's not used for ANYTHING.  (It's used for some internal pool calculations, maybe, but it's never retrieved from the shares table).

I'm modifying all of the pools to stop writing this value to the db with the saved shares.  That should cut our write disk bandwidth by 30-50% by itself.

Oh, I did see that part and felt it was large, but I assumed it was used for the listing where it tells what blocks were found/when/other info about them.

I have some ideas for speeding up the estimates script.  Once those are implemented I should be able to update the user stats much more frequently.

Awesome! I look forward to seeing that, Smiley. Thanks for being an active dev; it's something that's seen somewhat seldom as of late.

Yeah, I just had an "oh shit" moment while looking at the db..  See if you can see what I found wrong here:

| id       | time                | rem_host     | username             | our_result | upstream_result | reason | solution | block_num | prev_block_hash                              | useragent | difficulty |

No difficulty?

No, difficulty is there, it got cut off when I copy/pasted.

Hint: It's a performance-related thing.

Looking at it... I have no idea. You've piqued my interest now though, :p. I'm still a newbie to SQL performance -- I can make things work but when it comes to optimizing I lack the knowledge.

Apparently you missed that part where I said "it worked".

"...Some actually did send me a donation. However, it wasn't the amount I needed."

Wow, some people are incredibly hard headed.

So what if it wasn't the amount that I asked for?  I got something - and you said that I wouldn't.

Also if not much more came in, then I would have it. Which of course you will say wont happen.

FYI, just because you are not charitable, it doesn't mean that other people aren't.

I didn't say you will get nothing. What you're claiming is like saying you are looking for $1 million. Then having someone hand you a penny and saying that your begging was successful. Did you get something? Sure. But if it's not what you were looking for it's far from successful.

only happen once so far, but hitting refresh seems to fix the problem
Thanks

Thanks for the confirmation! Now that I narrowed down the problem (how I was editing the files) this should no longer be an issue in the future, Smiley.

No trouble so far.

Thanks!

Could we take LTC out of the switching pool?  I lost over 2500 shares because the size of the current block causing them to 'expire'.  I'm not sure why it's profitability is so high when the diff is up and LTC/BTC is down!  It's good to help it along but not if the shares evaporate because of the round size!

Just my 0.02 LTC...

Hmm, estimates are actually broken right now.  Not sure what the problem is, but it's related to a change I made last night.

And, they're fixed..  Not sure what the issue was..  Cronjobs had a MySQL error but when I ran the script from the command line, it ran ok.  And it seems to have been running OK since.

How often are the site stats updated btw? Would help to have some sort of like timer that tells how long before the next update, instead of having to refresh randomly in the hopes that things are updated, and not knowing how old the stats are, :p.

Pool stats (upper right) are updated every minute.  For user stats (upper left), the script runs every 10 minutes, but some of the stuff is cached in memcache.

Got ya. It was the user stats I'm mostly interested in.

Thanks!
