What would make you trust an exchange, or feel safe on one?

that was mentioned so many times and we have different ways of how we look at it.

8885  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2014 is NOT the year of bitcoin, sorry on: March 01, 2014, 02:18:15 PM

Yup, definitely early days still.  Every technological innovation goes through a growing phase.

This is essentially just year 5 of something most of us believe will be here awhile.

Once Gox is gone for good, you can believe 2014 will be another banner year.   Grin

Indeed everything is possible and we will see what will happen....

But sure is one thing Smiley 2014 will be a year of Bitcoin!

That is what we are all hoping for : 2014 being a huge year for Bitcoin but there has been a lot of bad news so the sentiment in the community is pretty bad

The price has been resisting during the mtgox fiasco so when it is all over we should go higher and higher because a lot of new people are getting involve in Bitcoin everyday and the system is still improving and gaining adoption

31/12/2014 1BTC=3241$

I believe you are right Smiley but time will show ...
I really hope that it will hit $2000 at least

8893  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Creating an open exchange. on: March 01, 2014, 01:46:45 PM
In the light of the recent news and incidents, I feel the need for an open exchange. Where our btc is safe and that we 100% sure they are safe. No problems with btc withdrawals whatsoever.

I want to develop such an exchange but do not know how to go about it. If those with ideas and input would show me the way I believe I have the necessary drive and connections to accomplish this.

The exchange must be transparent, meaning publicly auditable. Secure from hackers and bad intentions. A place where 2 parties can trade fiat and crypto or securities between each other securely.

How would one go about this? Especially the open part? How can an exchange be trustworthy?

Thanks for your comments , ideas , criticism

Sounds like good idea, but do you have knowledge needed to develop it, manage it, and secure it? Smiley Or how much bitcoins do you have and how much you want to pay people to do this? Smiley

Hello

I am determined to provide bitcoin users with a open exchange. I am willing to invest capital into this and more importantly my business knowledge and contacts.

Im just not sure on how to go about having an open system so people can feel safe about their btc being in cold storage safely.

Obviously providing the safety will be upto the exchange. But what is the best way to store them? Securely and openly! This is the part that I need help with.

Thanks

"Securely and openly!" ? Smiley

those two words whould not stand close to each other Smiley
or maybe I did not get the point...

I am sorry I cannot help you with development, but I can suggest to read a lot about cryptology and hire 10 good coders and maybe you can win with it somehow.

Good luck.

8895  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people think income tax is ok? on: March 01, 2014, 01:35:35 PM
Tax reform will never happen because the politicians would lose out. Doesn't matter who you vote for.

Yes it is true.

But this is what we call democracy Smiley
Anyway - whoever will win, things are not gonna crush or change to much better just like that.

And income tax is perhaps needed ... they need to earn money somehow Wink they suffer money issues so perhaps without it ... would be to hard for them.
8896  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mark Karpeles' IQ of 190 confirmed with [proof]. on: March 01, 2014, 01:29:00 PM
That was same IQ with Einstein yet he don't know that someone is stealing his bitcoins for 2 years.

no
Einstein had an IQ of 160, though Gary Kasparov is 194 Cheesy

He was more intelligent than Einstein? He could have invent a time machine to go back to 2009 and mine more bitcoins.  Grin

Well it is not always about IQ, it is more about "inspiration"

Smiley

You can we damn clever, but you will never invite anything ....
Smiley
8897  Economy / Service Discussion / Mark K. vs Charlie S. on: March 01, 2014, 01:24:48 PM
Why there are so many threads about Mark K. when Charlie S. is worst than Mark?

I understand that people can't withdraw their money (this is sad) but Charlie made really bad media Karma for bitcoin. Even my grandmother called me to say about that Charlie was arrested.

if there are people who did not read about it yet, here some articles:
http://www.businessinsider.com/report-ceo-of-major-bitcoin-exchange-arrested-2014-1
http://money.cnn.com/2014/01/27/technology/security/bitcoin-arrest/

So which one of them you choose as a worst for bitcoin?
Mark vs Charlie
