8901  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: New transaction malleability attack wave? Another stresstest? on: October 07, 2015, 07:21:17 PM
Annoying...

This attack is very good at exposing bad software.

Yes it is.

Bitcoin core.  Protocol incompetently designed so it has malleability bug. Protocol and software incompetently maintained because bug has yet to be fixed after several years.  Protocol developers incompetent in foreseeing and avoiding problems their incompetent code and designs have created.  Leaders unable to lead, paralyzed by fear.
The problem is not the protocol developers (core devs) but the rather with the other wallet developers who support and use High S values. If they are so incompetent, why don't you help and write code and implementations? Please read the thread before posting FUD like this.
8902  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [IDEA]A new investment system wich is not ponzi and everybody win on: October 07, 2015, 07:18:26 PM
Its something wich is close to pyramid but not pyramid, the invested money used to produce more ofc, risk have, but as low as possible at bitcoin bussines. I'm looking for programmers who can help doing it, he will get the pdf which I wrote to discuss how hard to make it.
How is like a pyramid but not? Either it is, and uses the deposits of new members to pay old members, or it isn't ,and is actually an investment into something.
So basically investors pay for example 3 investor. All money used for other bussines wich will generate constant money. If the first guys 110% is made than he paid and the second come. This looks like pyramid but the constant btc income always rises so the later investors will always get paid faster and faster and the system wont need new investors to paid the guys before. I'll wont pay them from their money....
So some of the money will be used to pay previous investors. But some of it will be used to invest in other stuff, and those returns as well, so it just keeps going on in a cycle.

Hi all, i have a really good idea, how to make a good investment website where everybody win and get his money, but im bad with web programing.
So I'm looking for ppl who can co-op with me and help me to do this. I'm offering share from profit.
Who is interested pm me, it will wont make much in the first half year but income will raise daily Smiley
No matter the choice of word it is still a ponzi but it might stays for a long time.
Let me know what percentage you will pay for 0.005 btc?
everybody will get back 110%, the site wont need starting investment and as the time goes the ppl get their money faster and we get income(the owners) too. It will be no ponzi. At start u will have to wait around 30-40 day for 110% later it can be much more less(at later i mean the site running longer the roi will be lower).
I just need somebody who can help me make this alive. I already made a full plan for it. its 5 page long how it will work. Ofc who come to site will see how the system works and can decide to try it out or not.
Where exactly does the money come from to pay people? If it is from following investors, it is either a ponzi out pyramid scheme. Otherwise, the money has to come from somewhere.

8906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin core stuck ! please help on: October 07, 2015, 01:50:40 AM
Can you post the whole log? Put it in code brackets (the pound # symbol button in the bar above the message box will do it automatically for you)

Try restarting Bitcoin Core. Kill the program using task manager and then restart it. Then tell us what happens.
8907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin core stuck ! please help on: October 07, 2015, 01:40:37 AM
It is still stuck and has been a long time now, CPU and memory use is very high and the pc is under load... should i expect to wait for days ?

The loading window or what you call it is showing and at the bottom it says : activating best chain
It is definitely stuck. post the debug.log. You should kill the Bitcoin Core process, but that will probably require you to need to reindex the databases which can also take a long time.
8908  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain.info Problem with Wallet on: October 07, 2015, 01:37:28 AM
The most bizarre thing is that I got another wallet (much older, and has thousands of transactions), and this one don't have the same problem... it happens just with this "new" wallet.

The official support give me instructions, but it had no effect... but the wallet opened normally this very morning... so, I don't know... blockchain.info is really weird....  Huh
Yeah, blockchain.info tends to have weird and stupid problems. I wouldn't recommend them. You should really get a desktop wallet like electrum. If you want access to your Bitcoin on the go, you can also use mycelium.

My suggestion: Choose coinbase. In two years with those no any problem and all the fee paid from them. Very good support.
I wouldn't recommend coinbase. They don't give you access to your private keys so you don't actually own the Bitcoin. Blockchain also pays the proper fees (usually) but they have the option to turn it off, which I think is what a lot of people do.

Hello :-)

I have installed bitcoin and it was Building Block chain for a few days now, it was almost done but after pc reboot it will not open, its stuck, the window with the logo comes on screen but nothing more happens.

Its stuck at : ACTIVATING BEST CHAIN

What should i do ?

I have transferred a large amount of bitcoins to the wallet but since it never finished Building and now will not open i have not seen the bitcoin in the wallet yet.

I am new to all this so please help me out , i dont know what to do and fear i have lost all the Money.

 Cry
Don't worry, your Bitcoin is still safe, as long as you don't delete the wallet file. Sometimes it takes a long time for Bitcoin Core to start up and it just looks like it is frozen, so wait.

However, in case it is broken, please provide us with the OS you are using and the debug.log file. Find data directory (specific instructions for different OSes here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory) and find the debug.log file inside it. Then post everything inside the file on this thread (don't worry, the file does not have any sensitive information in it), preferably between the code brackets.
8910  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: New transaction malleability attack wave? Another stresstest? on: October 07, 2015, 01:28:21 AM
How do I determine whether it is signed with highS or not ?
According to BIP 62, Low S is between 0x01 and  0x7FFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF FFFFFFFF 5D576E73 57A4501D DFE92F46 681B20A0 (inclusive). If it is bigger than that number, it is considered high S.
8911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help needed for GitHub (beware, dumb questions ahead) on: October 06, 2015, 09:12:14 PM
The readme file of the project is actually quite helpful. You should read that.

based on the link i provided, which file is the source code?
There is not just one file which contains the actual code, but many. A cursory look over the project shows that the folders console, coreapi, and java all have source code. The codes is written in multiple languages it seems, since the project is for multiple platforms. Files with the .c extension are for C/C++ while files with the .java extension are for Java. Android uses Java.

what software to use to modify the source?
A simple text editor would do, but IDEs (integrated development environments) are better. I would recommend netbeans since it should work for all of the languages in the project.

how to compile it to an exe & apk afterwards?
On a linux system, follow the build instructions in the readme. On windows, follow the instructions in README.mingw.

Thank you knight, but it still doesn't work.
The same message is displayed.
Ok...

Try
Code:
sudo apt-get -u dist-upgrade
And post the output of the running the command.
8913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Problem on Ubuntu on: October 06, 2015, 08:21:11 PM
try doing
Code:
sudo apt-get clean

If that doesn't work try also doing
Code:
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get -f install
(yes run the same command twice)
8914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Problem on Ubuntu on: October 06, 2015, 08:06:18 PM
did you try update, upgrade, and autoclean that I suggested above?

Also try removing everything again. uninstall bitcoin-qt and libboost, just to make sure they are gone.
8915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Problem on Ubuntu on: October 06, 2015, 07:55:39 PM
try doing install with aptitude instead of apt-get. Just replace all of the apt-gets with aptitude in the commands.
8916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Problem on Ubuntu on: October 06, 2015, 07:44:24 PM

The last solution which should work is to install those dependencies manually.
use:
Code:
sudo apt-get install libboost-chrono1.55.0 libboost-program-options1.55.0 libboost-thread1.55.0 libqrencode3

I've just tried to install these dependencies, but this is what I get:

Code:
Package libboost-thread1.55.0 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

Package libboost-program-options1.55.0 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

Package libboost-chrono1.55.0 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'libboost-chrono1.55.0' has no installation candidate
E: Package 'libboost-program-options1.55.0' has no installation candidate
E: Package 'libboost-thread1.55.0' has no installation candidate

Try just
Code:
sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev
then install bitcoinqt
8917  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Problem on Ubuntu on: October 06, 2015, 07:28:03 PM
Try these commands:

Code:
sudo apt-get update
Code:
sudo apt-get upgrade

And then installing

You can also try
Code:
sudo apt-get autoclean

before installing.

The last solution which should work is to install those dependencies manually.
use:
Code:
sudo apt-get install libboost-chrono1.55.0 libboost-program-options1.55.0 libboost-thread1.55.0 libqrencode3
8918  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: A Bitcoin Marketplace *Where buyers meet sellers and escrower* [Project Thread] on: October 06, 2015, 07:16:02 PM
Great to see you start to implement this, so there are a features which we can choose an escrow? the escrow is must a group i think, because just one person as an escrow if will not effective when the trade become a huge.

Yeah! There will be group of escrow

I see that you didn't see / ignored my comment but you asnwered the other guy , since It's group of Escrow I'd assume they are from the community and more then likely users from this forum .
What I'd do if I were you (for what comes to both users and Escrows) , you should verify their Bitcointalk accounts . How ? Make them add a specific text / choosen random words in their signature or Personal message for few seconds (time to check) then you check them and you make sure they are the owners of the accounts .
On that way , so there is no way users could leave both negative feedback on the website + the forums in case a scam happens .
They could also provide a signed message to the website with an address or pgp key that was posted by their account.

Don't do it. Lawsuits and copyright infringement laws are a pain in the ass

Thanks for your opinion. But what if I make this project happen but only for personal use?
I guess that would be OK.

I question the legitimacy of such a service that can replicate boards. They would need to reverse engineer t which is hard. Most pcb manufacturers need schematics to manufacture.
