8901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: November 21, 2018, 04:20:56 AM
As a non-HODLing Bitcoin Maximalist, I have to say things are going quite swimmingly.

Bitcoin, nor most altcoins for that matter, are meant to be held. They're not meant to be vehicles of speculation. They are meant to have real-world utility and a purpose. BCH had very little of these things, and BSV has none of them.

But That's None of My Business.
8902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: November 02, 2018, 01:45:11 PM
A video by Daniel Krawisz on the business model behind nChain/Craig Wright.

https://youtu.be/2765PgtHkVk

We already know Craig's business model:

1. Pretend to be Satoshi Nakamoto
2. FUD Bitcoin
3. Threaten to split BCH
4. Cry when you don't get your way
5. ...
6. Profit!

8903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-SALE][ICO] Petro $PTR - Oil backed crypto currency launched by Venezuela on: November 02, 2018, 08:25:00 AM
As per this article https://masternode.buzz/petro-coin-ptr-whitepaper-review/, the value of 1 PTR should be around $60. Do you guys think it's realistic ?

As of today, in the real world, a petro should be $ 34.78. Of course, due to hyperflation, it drops daily

I thought the benefit was to be a link to the price of oil or that is not applicable to the plain token just future issuance.   Oil has been going up so in theory isnt that a positive underlying ptr

Overall I just wish this had been left wings unclipped and released into the hands of users.  Crypto should not be unilateral, its by exchange that use accumulates

Why do you keep trying to rationalize this coin having any value whatsoever? The coin is "backed" by oil that hasn't been dug out of the ground yet, which requires money for extraction, which Venezuela doesn't have. The price of 1 barrel of oil is about $51 -- its gone down from $60 in February.

The petro went from being a token on NEM to being vaporware; that's not a step up.

C'mon and just tell us the truth -- you bought some petros didn't you? Good luck with that, you're gonna need it.

Petro uses the hash X11 algorithm. It also uses the PoS (Proof of Stake) and PoW (Proof of Work) algorithms for protection. So is it mineable?

If it uses X11 then it should be, though it might just be vaporware for all anybody knows.
it looks like Petro can't be mineable, because it's a combination of those who use the POS and POW algorithms, but it's better to ask one of the Petro Teams here, hopefully your answer will be helped

You're right I forgot that it can't be mined since its supposedly backed by oil in reserves, all of which may not even be there. There are no petro teams here. Never have been. If they stepped foot in this forum they would have their phony intellectual clocks cleaned.
8904  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: November 01, 2018, 03:21:22 PM
That feedback may well be applied to McAfee if bitcoin fails to reach 1 Million US$ by 2020.

Lol good point.
8905  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: November 01, 2018, 02:12:18 PM
What are some of the best reasons you've ever seen for leaving somebody negative feedback?

This could probably be its own thread, but I'm just adding this one here because it gave me a laugh. Hope you'll forgive me for going off topic.

Taken literally, it insinuates that a member made a thread where he chronicled his quest to suck his own dick, couldn't do it, then somebody felt that was a good enough reason to warrant suspicion about the trustworthiness of said member, and warn the community about their behavior.

8907  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade Coin Club on: October 31, 2018, 10:35:28 AM
This is a horrific scam that still accepts bitcoin but pays out nothing, even though its long dead.

https://behindmlm.com/mlm-reviews/trade-coin-club-review-cryptocurrency-exchange-ponzi-rois/

Founder Joff Paradise (real name Jeffrey Webb) has started a new ponzi scam straight out of the Bitconnect playbook:

aitrades.org

Do NOT deposit your bitcoin there! If you do, its as good as gone. So sad how this guy gets the hopes of the poor worked up only to fleece them of what little money they have. He travels extensively through southeast asia and latin america, looking to con people with little to no financial literacy. A total douchebag.

hi, there is no reward for week 1, 2, my number in the twitter table is 42, here is my report:

Congratulations on having just as many posts as me and still being a Newbie. That's quite an accomplishment. Stunning, really.

What do you think a Venezuelan will do if he can buy Petros in BsS and then change it to dollars?    It's obvious

Congrats, today's the day you became a Jr Member. If it weren't for his "America is evil" rhetoric then coinve would still be a newbie.

- it looks like the register is already open.

- blockchain explorer is still not active (link dead).

- about the wallet, for now you can only download the manual.
the wallet was developed using Qt5.
to use the wallet on Linux, you have to install some dependencies.

- it says Petro will be a X11 (PoW/PoS) coin.
some say it will be something like DASH.

- it says Petro will be żactive? in November.

Funny how the government claims they've been paying for things with it for the past 4 months. Also funny how everything keeps getting delayed. Wonder what the reason for the next delay will be. Probably "America"  Cheesy

Hi there,

Guess what? I need money now, again.

I'm wondering if we could do this differently in one of two ways, and I know I could just email you these questions but maybe its educational for future loanees if you answered them here. This time, could I:

- borrow 0.03 instead of 0.02 this time, would repay 0.036 total in 2 weeks
- or, again borrow 0.02 and repay 0.024 without having to go through the whole process of escrow, now that I have established a bit of trustworthiness?

Let me know what you think. I do understand if the answer is "no" to either.
8911  Other / Off-topic / Re: Flat Earth on: October 17, 2018, 09:33:37 AM

Observation of the horizon is consistent with convergence and perspective on a plane no matter how much you mock me, or insult me, or claim the I'm lying and report me to the mods, or tag me as a scammer or try to hide my posts with spam about the earth being a pretzel, or cry to the mods to censor my posts, or post photoshopped images from NASA and PBS.

The horizon just keeps on rising and I want you all to die horrible deaths for lying to my face.

Dude, this is a forum about bitcoin, not a support group for those crying out for help.
8912  Economy / Marketplace / Re: how to convert rinkeby eth to ethereum on: October 17, 2018, 09:20:10 AM
greetings all

please i want to confirm if there is any possible way to convert Rinkeby eth to ethereum, i would appreciate so much, i need the conversion as much as possible.

pm me with your eth wallet after process i will appreciate you

thanks

Just out of curiosity, how did you obtain your Rinkeby Net ETH?

Perhaps you could sell it to somebody who wanted testnet ETH, but anybody who knows what a "test net" is probably knows how to use Google to get their own, too.
8913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The story of the Razor ("RZR") scam. Bryce Weiner and RazorTech on: October 17, 2018, 08:45:19 AM
I think people should keep this topic alive. As people like Bryce Weiner are still thriving well on Twitter doing Pump & Dump schemes. His credibility must be known how he scammed not just on RZR but on ZET and other 4 coins .

You're absolutely right. His latest project, Tao, really shit the bed in August and it appears to be going the same direction as all of his other projects.

8914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]HoweyCoins: the only BitcoinTalk-endorsed ICO - GUARANTEED PROFIT on: October 17, 2018, 08:39:11 AM
That opportunity is HoweyCoins, "an all too good to be true investment" that "is not real," the release admits.

So how did you come to this conclusion?

Due Diligence.

"Not real" in "quotations." Yeah right, that's what they want you to believe.  Roll Eyes

8915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: October 17, 2018, 02:37:12 AM
No. Tracing its heritage to the Satoshi Genesis Block, Bitcoin Cash is the oldest cryptocurrency. A title it shares with Bitcoin Segwit.

Coinmarketcap, a hundred other coin websites, everybody sane and all of reality disagrees with you.

Coinmarketcap states that Bitcoin Cash is not the oldest cryptocurrency? News to me. How about a link to support your assertion?

Here you go: Bcash, opened for trading on major exchanges on July 24, 2017.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/

[Your counterargument] "Yeah but it sat dormant not listed on major exchanges for years."

[My counterargument] "You just got schooled by a Newbie."

Sent you an email. can you please response there or write the message here just to verify.

OK email sent.
8919  Economy / Lending / Re: Lending Service Started! on: October 03, 2018, 10:56:29 AM

By taking as collateral, I can fill the loan. You may use escrow (fees yours).
Note: Also need to verify 1PypgzaAJXHzLPvkLQwWzqwn1AyhJd9YUi or any id which you used earlier as stake or signature.

I notice you deleted your post in my thread. Did you change your mind? I just need to know if I should keep my thread open or not. Thanks.
Actually I noticed you had tried to sell your account. Also a well wisher informed me about that. Anyway, I want to take risk base on your activity. But the risk amount would be 0.02 btc. And on your signed message you have to write also mention your alternate contact info on signature message.

Code:
I am giving this account (nutildah) as collateral to shasan. He will have all right to use it if I cant repay on time. Date: 3rd october 2018

Ouch. OK well I need to pay this bill by tomorrow so I'll take it, if you agree to 20% for 2 weeks. I assume a gmail address will suffice as alternate contact info?

Loan Amount: 0.02
Loan Repay Amount: 0.024
Repay Date: 10/17/18
