8901  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it possible to buy really large BTC amounts? on: September 06, 2016, 08:02:22 AM
So as in title, Is it possible to buy really large BTC amounts? like a million $? What was the largest amount of BTC you bought at once?

It is possible if you find a seller that`s willing to sell large amounts.

This is the hard part. Smiley

I don`t buy bitcoins right now.
8902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Greg Maxwell is now the owner of Bitcoin. That's all. on: September 06, 2016, 07:58:31 AM
Shit.

Great thread.Writing a catchy title and no clarification at all. Grin

Next time,i will make a topic:"Donald Trump is now the owner of bitcoin. That`s all."

Any evidence,any proof?
8903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hacked BitcoinTalk Data Finally Surfaces On Dark Net on: September 06, 2016, 07:53:57 AM
This just out in the news. What are the implications of this as a regular user of BCT? Should we be worried about this?

http://themerkle.com/hacked-bitcointalk-user-data-finally-surfaces-on-dark-net/

"Just a few days ago, the data stolen from the BitcoinTalk.org hack in 2015 was posted for sale on dark net. A hacker going by DoubleFlag, is selling BitcoinTalk.org’s database. The same hacker is said to be responsible for the 68 million emails and hashed passwords from Dropbox that went for sale on dark net not too long ago.

BitcoinTalk.org was originally hacked in May of 2015, but the data wasn’t posted until a few days ago. DoubleFlag seems to have been the first one able to get his hands on it, and no one after him for that matter. The stolen data was only accessible by using data breach notification sites like Hacked-DB and LeakedSource."

Damn,i guess i will have to change my password to make sure everything is fine.

And damn, this might have an impact over the entre bitcoin community or over the bitcoin price.

My account is created back in December 2015,the hack is on May 2015.I`m safe, i guess.
8904  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin exchange websites without withdrawal fees on: September 04, 2016, 01:32:07 PM
I noticed that almost all Bitcoin exchange websites I know have a withdrawal fee.
So, I want to know if there are websites that have not this withdrawal fee.

Nope. All the platforms have withdrawal fees. This is normal. Sad

They want you to store your bitcoins as long as possible in their system.

Every payment processor has withdrawal fees. Sad

8906  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: As someone below legal age, how do I buy bitcoins with my Mastercard? on: September 04, 2016, 01:23:30 PM
I can do online purchases using my card, but here's some problems when I try to buy small amounts of BTC:

1. Exchange services are always asking for documents and always insist I should be above legal age.
2. Paypal isn't really an option since my card somehow got blacklisted there
3. Skrill is same with #2. I'm not sure why.
4. BTC isn't available locally.
5. My parents don't have cards (or maybe they do, they just don't want me to know), so parents aren't an option.
6. I can't use my parents' name since they won't allow me to use their documents.
7. I have complete identity documents (passport, etc.), but see #1.
8. I can't reliably prove my address since all bills and stuff are registered to my parents' name.

How do I get small amounts of BTC? (Around 2-10 USD)

Use purse.io to buy goods for other people from Amazon and they will pay you for this service with bitcoin.

You have a card,so you can use Amazon,i guess.

I don`t understand ,how come you have a card and you are below legal age?
8907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should BTC Opinions be valued based on your BTC wallet size? on: September 04, 2016, 09:34:57 AM
I see a LOT of idiotic opinions about BTC going UP, DOWN, Conspiracy, taxes, Doomsday theories, and pointlessly impossible hypothetical theories.  Taxes, anti anonymous BTC wallets, etc.

Trolls get rank by posting this trash, to get high post counts and more stats on their profile.
Insane people are incapable of amassing 100 BTC, and the economic opinions of poor people are an oxymoron.

How about people start a new trend of "This is my question _____ This is how much BTC I have _____, here is proof."
I have over 100 BTC, so I can talk smack about economics of BTC if I want.
Put your money where your mouth is next time you have some oxymoron troll thing to say.

It is sad that half of the users engage in such pointless threads.

Should BTC Opinions be valued based on digital signature verifiable wallet size?

Unfortunately we can`t stop trolls from writing their opinion.

Having lots of btc doesn`t make you right all the time about all topics.

Why do you care about trolls opinion?I don`t care about their theories.

8908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & Chatbots on: September 04, 2016, 09:26:10 AM
Hey guys,

Been wondering how Bitcoin can leverage the Chatbot wave.
As AI and Natural language processing gets increasingly easier, It is important to leverage platforms like facebook, messenger etc to help the average person use Bitcoin.
I have been thinking of a few things that could be developed

1. Bitcoin Transaction bot  - telebit.org
2. Bitcoin RSS / News bot - @bitcoinrssbot on telegram
3. Altcoin news feeds - A  user here has been selling it
4. Bitcoin wiki bot - standard wiki represenation on a chatbot

What do you think are the next frontiers for bitcoins and chat bots ?
What would you pay for in a chat bot ?

I don`t really understand your idea.

So you want to make bots to automate spamming in social media about bitcoin?

I don`t understand what`s the point of this.

Social media platforms hate bots and automated posting so they ban automated accounts.
8909  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is 1000 btc Possible on: September 03, 2016, 10:45:44 AM
Is it possible to earn 1000 or atleast 100 bitcoins with trading Altcoins. If I buy some bitcoin at cheaper rate today and it's price goes up in future?Which alt you think has potential to make me 1000 btc

It`s possible ,but there has to be a very big altcoin speculation bubble.

Like when some altcoin price increases from $0,01 to $30 or something similar.

I`m not very familiar with altcoins.I`m holding my bitcoins.
8910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will banks stop pumping "blockchain technology"? on: September 03, 2016, 10:41:04 AM
Im sick and tired of all those stupid news about this or that banking brand claiming how the "blockchain will revolutionize everything" or "the technology behind bitcoin..." blah blah all that crap.

When are those idiots going to be forced to admit that the real innovation is bitcoin+blockchain and not only blockchain? They truly disgust me.

The Blockchain is revolutionaizing everything right now.

It`s good that they admit this,i guess.

I actually don`t care that much about their opinion.
8911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia officially allows Bitcoin on: September 03, 2016, 10:36:23 AM
Russia has always been one of the most hostile regimes towards Bitcoin. There were drafts proposing to criminalize the use of Bitcoin with a penalty of up to 3-5M Russian rubles (over $50,000) or even with a term in prison. But just a few days ago the last such proposal was scrapped, and it seems that the authorities are no longer trying to turn Bitcoin users into criminals.

In July the Russian Ministry of Finance had stated that it intended to allow citizens to buy cryptocurrency for the purpose of reselling, exchanging, and using beyond Russia. At the same time, the same proposal suggested banning Bitcoin mining since it was considered as issuance of currency. And just a month later Alexei Moiseyev, Russia’s deputy minister of finance says that the ministry (which has long tried to pass a bill to ban digital currencies altogether) denounces any direct ban of Bitcoin.

So it looks like the last unassailable fortress standing between Bitcoin and its universal recognition across the world is about to collapse

If this is true, this is really good news.

Hope that this will have some impact over the bticoin price.

Maybe bitcoin mining will be profitable in Russia as well.
8912  Economy / Economics / Re: The $1 Million Dollar Bitcoin on: September 03, 2016, 06:06:27 AM
For 1 Bitcoin to be worth $1,000,000, the total market cap of Bitcoin would have to be $21 trillion dollars. What are the odds of this happening?

For reference, the amount of physical $dollars and coins in circulation are around $1.2 trillion. The global M2 money supply of all currencies are around $45 trillion. The market cap of all mined gold is around $7 trillion.

Will 1 Bitcoin be worth a million dollars? Half a million? Thoughts?

I don`t think that this is going to happen.

Actually we don`t need 1M USD bitcoin price.This shouldn`t be a goal.

We need mass adoption of bitcoin and more trust and authority.
8913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just some reassurance for Bitcoin Investors on: September 03, 2016, 06:01:27 AM
For all my fellow Bitcoin investors I just wanted to share to you all about something that stood out to me today.  I currently work at T-Mobile and we deal with other peoples credit all the time.  I would say at least 80% of time, in my area, we get the worst of the worst credit classes. Today I had a customer tell me his entire life story about his failing business and how hes in hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.  This guy's method of staying on his feet is by bouncing 10k checks , withdrawing the money, then piling more debt on top of what he already owes....  All in the same day my sisters debit card information gets stolen and $1000 dollars gets withdrawn from the account in some casino.  The Bank proceeds to pay us back but the thief just ran away with $1000 and no penalty. Cases similar to these happen every day and on even larger scales. The moral of this all is that the system is broken.  This belief that our money is safe in FIAT currencies is all a lie.  Do not lose faith in Bitcoin and the decentralized network, it is a currency run by the people and for the people.  Keep your heads up and invest wisely!

I haven`t lost my faith in bitcoin ,but the cryptocurrencies still have many problems  that need to be solved.

There are many credit card/debit card scammers and also many bitcoin scammers.

We can`t get rid ot them.We just have to be carefull.
8914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brave Browser Launches Bitcoin Micropayments on: September 03, 2016, 05:57:35 AM
I was reading this at Coindesk a few minutes ago and I thought I should share it with you guys. I thought I got their concept right when they first announced the launch of Brave but It seems like I didn't (after reading the comments in Coindesk) , so I'm still not sure If users who use the browser will get paid or the publishers of ads are the one who gets paid..

Never heard of this before.I don`y think that the concept will work.

Adblocks work perfect and there`s no need of using a new browser to get rid of annoying ads.

Anyway it`s good to know that some companies are trying to implement bitcoin in their projects.

8915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible to mint Bitcoin ? on: September 02, 2016, 11:51:18 AM
is it possible to mint  physical Bitcoin  and use it for purchases in countries like USA,UK,Canada and Europe ?

Theoretically it is possible.Practically i don`t think that any merchant will accept this.

This is an  important part of bitcoin growth and mass adoption.

I hope that sooner or later this will happen.
8916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Best Way To Encourage Offline Store To Accept BTC on: September 02, 2016, 11:48:10 AM
This can be challeging but, i have tried the strategy below:

walk into any offline store i.e (restaurant) and ask one of the staff that you will like to speak with the  the management of the restaurant.

Most people will direct you straight to the management, other's might want to know the reason behind such request.

just be prepare for follow-up response;

If, you are given the opportunity, open your presentation in this manner;

I'm interested in promoting your services/product's on bitcoin related forum!
Do you know you'll be losing 35%-45% of your customer's (tourist) who  uses bitcoins?

At this point be prepared to tell them more about bitcoin.

Close your presentation, try to be brief as possible.

Remember to make reference to bitcointalk forum, because it offer's more information  (foundation) with comprehensive lesson about bitcoin & the use of bitcoin.

Creation & distribution of short flyer's with same message will work fine for those who dislike meeting one-one with the management of offline stores.

Thanks
Bitcseo

"35%-45% ofyour cistomers who uses bitcoins"?This is a little bit unrealistic.

I don`t think that 35-45% of the people use bitcoins.

I don`t think that the bitcoins users use btc to buy stuff offline.
8917  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cointelegraph is promoting scammers on: September 02, 2016, 11:44:48 AM
Cointelegraph is promoting scammers through ads --- biteminers and some others. Should a decently reputable btc news site do some vetting of their advertisers?

There aren`t many big bitcoin advertisers so Cointelegraph doesn`t have any

requirements about the legitimacy of their advertisers.

This is sad.Bitcoin is still flooded with scammers and this stops the btc growth.
8918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trojan hijack my clipboard and change my bitcoin address on: September 02, 2016, 06:55:28 AM
Hi All,

Just want to share my experience here.
Recently i just found out, as long as i copy my bitcoin address and paste it to other page, it changes to different unknown bitcoin address that doesn't belongs to mine. Luckily i notice the address is different from mine, no loss is caused. Finally i fix it with anti-malware, now my pc is back to health again. Grin

Wow.This is a pretty nasty malware. Angry

Usually i use Malwarebytes to clean my PC every week.

I`m not sure if this is enough for such malware. Sad

I`m very carefull when i use bitcoin addresses so it`s impossible  to scam me.
8919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your help appreciated - what was it that HOOKED you on Bitcoin? on: September 02, 2016, 06:51:21 AM
When did you realize that Bitcoin was truly "legitimate" and could revolutionize the way the world transacts and conducts day-to-day business?

What was the moment where all of the pieces fell into place for you? Obviously, there are always new things to learn - but what was it that HOOKED you?

Your responses are very helpful, and very much appreciated. THANK YOU!

That was one year ago, when i received a bitcoin payment for my online service.

Back then,i realized that i can use bitcoin as a payment method and btc can be more convenient for me.

Later i joined this forum and i was already hooked. Grin
8920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a good way to store money? on: September 02, 2016, 06:48:41 AM
Bitcoin is just a good way to invest your money?
Or we can also store our money there, if the price stay stable?
What do you thing about this?

Bitcoin investors need a more volatile price ,so they can make profits.

If the price becomes more stable, all the speculators and btc investors might go away.

If the price really becomes more stable, more online and offline businesses and other people might adopt

bitcoin.
