8921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PoS] LitecoinStake - 100% Free Airdrop Distribution on: October 19, 2017, 03:48:21 AM
I have some of these and as the name suggests they are staking away nicely. It will be interesting to see if they progress anywhere, the same dev has many similar projects on the go - could be a genius move for him when they all take off together, or he may be spreading himself too thinly - who knows. For me nothing much to loose, wait and see. Meanwhile I can dream.

This is not a sole project for one person...it's all the users behind it, the backing.  Please remember that.

And yes, the whole point is to stake while being patient....

So you plan on sitting back and keeping the code updated for your cut? Or do you have specific plans with all these cookie cutter coins? Or are you just looking for community members to step up to create an ecosystem and direction for each coin? Do you plan on integrating all these at some point?

The dev wallet is staking, just like the rest of the users who got the airdrops.

There are bounties to promote the coin.  I can only do so much myself, when everyone joins the channels and tells their friends, the user base will grow.

New members who discover each coin individually will see the other coins as well, so everything benefits.  I see new users come to other coins all the time because they discovered the other one first.

Yes there is a plan to integrate all of this, possibly a decentralized exchange for staking coins.  But that is for later.

We are just in launching phase, its not even been 2 weeks, this is all long term projects because we can stake while we work on it, together.

And you should talk to everyone who holds the coins (community members), instead of just talking directly to me.  While I may have plans, everyone who contributes also gets a say in the project, whatever the whole plan as well.

I was thinking along those lines, I like the way your doing things. Smiley

Not sure about the ETH HF either but there is this.

8923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which exchanges are supporting bitcoin gold? on: October 19, 2017, 12:40:07 AM
It will probably be list on exchange sites like bitcoin cash. There is no difference between bitcoin gold and bitcoin cash, we will have n-version bitcoin fork on exchange.

BULLSHIT. Bitcoin Gold has an added premine has shit for code and is not even replay patched. Here is a good article on why Bitcoin gold is shit that is nothing but a money grab.

https://news.bitcoin.com/the-bitcoin-gold-project-responds-to-negative-criticism/

I've never even heard of Beatcoin and BitStar before.
HitBTC has mixed reviews and YoBit I wouldn't touch with a 10 inch pole.

So far, the support from exchanges seems minimal.

I've never heard of then either and HitBTC is such a scam the account here has been painted red forever, just read their thread and you can find all kinds of people they have screwed.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=378827.740

And yeah yobit is nothing but shitcoin scammers Haven. Although I don't think it steals your funds (but I won't bother trying it as I have no interest in any shitcoin it hosts).

@lt8877 Smart pickup on  Demaryius, I assume you had Dak as a first choice? I was deciding whether I needed Dak or  Demaryius first. Funny how injuries are changing these teams I never expected Denver to lose all receivers so cut Dearious and grabbed all GB WR and RB and Rogers goes down lol.

BTW If Rogers Hadn't gone down it would have been a really tight match, I really needed this win! Last place sucks! Cheesy

I think the only guys left on my team I drafted Are the three that I cannot cut. Lol

Yes, last place sucks and my 2 week slide did NOT help!  Cheesy  You and me this weekend for the bottom of the barrel.

Nice! a battle for the Bottom! Bring it on I'm all in. Smiley

side bet?

Haha, no thanks. I "feel" poor these days...

Phew, I said that before checking out you team! LOL

I'm poorer too after last week at the casino. DOH Cheesy

I speculate that my long will take another month before I can close at a break even. At least the lending rate has come down. Smiley

Also I tried to open another position and then cancel it on polo to lower my rate to the current market rate and that did not work.
haha im in the same boat. i plan to sell with profit tho. as you said lending costs almost nothing.

Yes it is a fact that the price has dropped a little but soon the price will rise faster than the old one. Monero is different from other coins and they are not as simple. I'm sure I will see her in much better places.

Hah, I can answer you both with the same line!

Yup all Long term Holders believe this and are taking positions to take advantage of this fact. Smiley

I'm not too sure it's a good idea to open positions at this time, with the upcoming bitcoin forks. At least my plan is to be with all bitcoin, dump both forks and buy back my alts, hopefully before they recover.

I opened my long in Sept. Bad choice obviously Smiley

I've always thought Saberhagen was a tip of the hat to one of my favorite reads.

Perhaps that, and Nicolas Bourbaki.

Maybe, I do think a little effort went into that particular pseudonym, guys like that like inside jokes. Smiley

...

Quite obvious that it is fake, the surveymonkey ref link is a dead giveaway.

Well the funny part is that Gov organizations use retarded software all the time.

Got a good point there, it may be I'm just bit too paranoid and I think this is data harvesting operation.

There's a very good chance your right, I just don't care enough to even google it but I figured whether it's phishing or true either way I'd let you guys know that I got one.

It will be the most used coin to buy things

That it will never be.

It just have has an amazing team, great name and the best founder ever.

None of which has any relevance nor implication at all, even if it was true.

If there is any "best founder ever" then it's undoubtedly the bitcoin founder. All the kids that popped up after him are just substanceless derivatives.

Considering BitMonero's founder was outed and this project was taken over by community members I don't think so.

I've always thought there is a strong possibility the anonymous cryptonote author "Nicholas van Saberhagen" actually IS "Satoshi Nakamoto"

Received this email, not even sure if it's true as I stopped using Mintpal as soon as it started looking scammy which was pretty quickly after Moolah got a hold of it. Moolah was an obvious scan from the get go.

Avon and Somerset Police Mintpal Investigation

Dear Sir/Madam,

Operation Sparrow is an ongoing UK fraud investigation into the activities of Moolah and its former CEO Ryan Kennedy, also known as Alex Green.

The investigation focuses on Kennedy’s acquisition of Mintpal in 2014 and the subsequent disappearance and dispersal of customers’ funds from the exchange.

Kennedy has been charged with a number of fraud offences in relation to these matters and is due to face trial at Bristol Crown Court.

I am writing to you as you have been identified through your email address as a possible victim of this fraud and may have incurred a financial loss. You are one of almost fourteen thousand people that have been affected by this case so please accept my apologies that it is not practical for me to respond to individual queries at this time. I would urge you not to reply directly to this email, nor to phone Avon and Somerset Constabulary regarding the case. Updates will be published as and when available.

At this stage of the investigation I am unable to confirm whether there will be any possibility of financial compensation.

I should be grateful if you would take a few minutes to complete the attached survey that will assist us in identifying potential victims more quickly and efficiently.

Please submit your completed questionnaire by 31st January 2018. Responses received after this date will not be processed.

8939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: October 17, 2017, 05:04:04 AM
Hey I have a serious question to the Monero community.

So after I realized that Dash is potentially inferior in every aspect, perhaps except the community aspect, but Monero is getting more mainstream too nowadays. And we know Zcash and others are bad too.

So Monero has all the cool features, privacy, anonymity, decent community (not full of shills and trolls) and a pretty good research and development team.

But there is 1 issue with Monero, a big one: SCALING

Why the hell does Monero align itself with the retarded small blocker camp? The more I research it, the more obvious it is to me that the small blockers in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Core, have just done horrible damage to Bitcoin's scalability and adoption (literally over 80% of the world earns less daily income than your BTC tx fee). In fact I think some Core developers have worked in Monero, so there is some tight alliance there.

I have heard some rumors about adding Segwit or something similar to Monero, when if you do any research on it, it clearly shows how inferior it is the soft fork segwit, it creates this colored coin environment controlled by the miners. We do bash Dash for it's masternode setup, but for some reason Segwit controlled by the miners is not a big deal.

Look I am no technical expert but every evidence points towards big blocks being the good scaling solution.

Can somebody, an expert, explain to me clearly and honestly why Monero does not go with the big block strategy?

As JW pointed out Monero has Dynamic Scaling so we have no clue what your talking about when you say aligning ourselves with a small block "Side". Monero Devs may work with core Devs but thats because out of most alts Monero Devs are the ones that Core Devs take serious.

Monero takes no position on BTC it is it's own coin.

Just another day in you data is not safe land, here's one for all you guys who want to use android wallets and run your Linux boxes over WPA2.

Quote
As a proof-of-concept we executed a key reinstallation attack against an Android smartphone. In this demonstration, the attacker is able to decrypt all data that the victim transmits. For an attacker this is easy to accomplish, because our key reinstallation attack is exceptionally devastating against Linux and Android 6.0 or higher. This is because Android and Linux can be tricked into (re)installing an all-zero encryption key (see below for more info). When attacking other devices, it is harder to decrypt all packets, although a large number of packets can nevertheless be decrypted. In any case, the following demonstration highlights the type of information that an attacker can obtain when performing key reinstallation attacks against protected Wi-Fi networks:

Article on North Korea cyber capabilities mentions them hacking crypto exchanges and converting BTC to XMR:
https://www.boston.com/news/world-news/2017/10/16/the-world-once-laughed-at-north-korean-cyber-power-no-more

Quote
More recently, North Koreans seemed to have changed tack once again. North Korean hackers’ fingerprints showed up in a series of attempted attacks on cryptocurrency exchanges in South Korea, and were successful in at least one case, according to researchers at FireEye.

The attacks on Bitcoin exchanges, which see hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin exchanged a day, offered Pyongyang a potentially very lucrative source of new funds. And, researchers say, there is evidence they have been exchanging Bitcoin gathered from their heists for Monero, a highly anonymous version of cryptocurrency that is far harder for global authorities to trace.

I guess all news is good news. Lol
