OP, your problem has an easy fix. Buy and hold, fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride. Bitcoin will always be very volatile, nothing can change that. If you want a more stable currency keep holding US Dollar notes.

Thank you for your advice . I am new to crypto mining ... I will back out of the deal
There is also the problem of actively operating it. You will encounter technical and hardware problems giving you downtime and periods without any profit. Electricity cost is another problem. I would say that for 2 BTC it would be better for you to invest in Litecoin itself that go through all the problems of mining it.

People are wondering, the last week of July is the deciding whether you want to make a big profit, or you'll just miss it. For myself, I intend to sell some of my cryptoss, and hope to get a good entry point, but on the other hand I feel that last week's downtrend is the last one of this month, what do you think?
I will wait until the end of August before making any comments or thinking that we are out of the woods. I do not trust the miners at all to be honest. Let us leave it at that and wait for Segwit to activate, then we talk about good entry points.

There is no use going back and try to think what he would do today. Satoshi or the "Satoshi persona" is dead. Bitcoin is in the hands of the Core developers now or whoever ends up being the new stewards of the network after August.

OP, you talk like the high volatility is a good thing. It is not good if you think about the merchants that accept Bitcoin. There is also the chance that it could go down below $2000 again. High volatility goes both ways.

It looks like it. I am happy I have not made any altcoin investments yet. Bitcoin's price increase is so fast that all the other altcoins cannot keep up. They are all going down in value vs. Bitcoin right now.
Bitcoin and altcoin investment are two different things. Most altcoins are just a pump and dump coins so more likely you are going to lose money in there. While bitcoin is really a good investment, either for long term or just holding for a few days and it the profit is ripe for you then take it. Again, the BIP91 has really impacted the market and pretty sure that $3000 can be reached, but will it be sustainable? There was a post by Peter Todd on Reddit that said there is a chance that BIP 91 might not be activated even if it is already locked. The explanation was too technical for my to understand but the gist of it was the miners could still back out and we are back to where we were.

So what's going to be the deal with this?
Now it's all sweetness and light as Segwit smiles upon us, what do you reckon will become of the 2MB hard fork?
Will everyone who agreed to it fall away and wait to see what Segwit does or will they follow through?
Hard forking seems rather more fundamental to me.
More fundamental? What does that mean? A debatable hard fork such as this one is very risky and all the gains that Bitcoin have made from the BIP 91 lock could all go away on a threat of a split.

I believe this will be it. we have Segwit coming. So far so good, the market is happy, the miners are happy, most of the people in this forum are happy and that is all that matters for now.

If you want a quick trade that is anonymous with the hassle to move your coins to the exchange and sending them back again to your wallet then use Shapeshift enabled wallets.
If you are an active day trader then of course, an exchange is what you really need.

If the merchant is accepting a Lightning enabled payment and assuming that it is stable, secure and that it is very easy to use, then why not?
Everyone will start using it if it is really more convenient and faster.

I do not understand why most of the speculators stay away when there is a panic and then come back and say "it is time to invest everything" just like what the OP is doing. The opportunity is to buy was days ago during the market dip.
Maybe they are one of those afraid butts of those past down thrends happened and now they realised that bitcoins is rising good that's why they are spreading some good facts right now. But if they really a real speculator that bought for the low price reached for last weeks happening then they must be earned thousands of dollars right now and smiling good with this current price rise. It would help them a lot if they did not check the price of Bitcoin every minute. It is funny because some of them say they are investing for the long term but they keep checking the price every minute making them emotional.

Hi, I am planning on doing some trading on Localbitcoins to make extra cash or Bitcoin on the side while working in an office. Is there a guide somewhere I could read? I do not want to straight up post my bids and asks without knowing what I am doing. Please help.
I heard that they charge 1% of the traded amount as fee.You would have to register yourself by providing your details.I think its the leading website in providing platform between the traders and sellers. You may find more details in their official website. I already have my documents and other information uploaded to the site. I already have used the site before and I was required to prove my identity to trade with more trustworthy traders on the site. Hm.. Almost all of the tips were already here on forum and for the guidelines how to do simple buy and sell is in youtube .Goodluck and have a patience .
Right. Thanks, I will have a look later.

OP, it might be the best idea for you to support the UASF/BIP148 then. If only it were easy to set up a node these days, I believe a lot of us would start signalling Segwit BIP 148 right now and let the everyone hear and see our cause.

Hi I'm really struggling to see why we are already seeing a decline in BTC price due to the incoming fork. From what I understand: - We see an alternative crypto that has a very small likelihood of overtaking Core, as Core will be better than old BTC after the fork. Plus Core is just, well,
king.
What do you mean by "Core will be better than the old BTC"? As far as I know Core is still the old BTC that wants to get Segwit implemented via BIP141. - Alternative crypto lasts a day and dies. Life goes on.
I'm surely missing something here. I'm literally ready to drain my bank accounts on the 31st of July, wait a few weeks and sell enough BTC to cover my expenses - surely leaving me with a large amount of BTC as profit? With my current knowledge on Segwit, I can't see any reason for panic. What am I misunderstanding? Thanks I am personally mixed as far as the blockchain split is concerned. Sometimes I think there will not be a split but sometimes I do. There is one character that we should look out for and that is Luke Dashjr. We do not know what is going on with that guy's mind.
