901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: October 22, 2017, 09:16:41 PM
How are the transactions inside the blocks? A while ago the blocks contained few transactions, wich shows little use.

There are a few more per block now than before but in the last 24h there were only 20 blocks found rather than the expected 144 and given that only 20 blocks in a 24h period were found they are only averaging around 500k a block so yea not many

BitcoinCash is hard forking in November too

https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-cash-community-preps-for-a-hard-fork-slated-for-november-13/

And from reading comments around twitter, reddit etc I don't think it's going to go as smoothly as expected

10 hour old article , OK.

But lets be clear that is a fork to modify the difficulty adjustment , so many of you have been whining about.

It is not a newly created coin networks , like segshitcoin is going to have.

╥Aztek

Yes but looking over twitter and reddit comments it may not go as smoothly as expected a lot of users are angry about this and the miners seem to like the old EDA so "could" create a community split like ETH & ETC this was born from differences over an official upgrade
903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: October 22, 2017, 08:56:26 PM
Bitcoincash is definitly bullshit. The thing i dont understand why all of those people follow this fake coin. Will always be new forks?

From what I've read there are users complaining about the new difficulty adjust hard fork too so there could be trouble going forward with that also plus the miners seem to really like the EDA I don't think this next hard fork will be going as smoothly as expected

Clairify for the confused, it is segshitcoin that is forking in Oct & Nov and not Bitcoin Cash.

Bitcoin Cash care little what segshit or it upcoming forks do.

I am staying clear of it, purely down to the very poor launch, the poor information, the constant chopping and changing of premines, ICO, and the like.
Its been a PR disaster, I have lost faith purely based on those facts alone. How is anyone with any investment fund supposed to take this seriously. You have to remain professional and frankly this is a disaster.

How is anyone supposed to have any sort of faith this is being launched legitimately with a clean as a whistle dev team.

That is my 2 cents worth.

Most of whats been announced has not changed it got pushed back slightly and the ICO was scrapped in favour or a small premine that was of a undetermined value just stated to be under 1%

That's pretty much all that has changed all the contradicting info and news floating about is mainly made up from different users perspective of what is happening
906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again on: October 22, 2017, 01:23:55 PM

So basically we will get it but won't be able to trade it, right?

You will get it although I would not recommend trusting any exchange I would still rather keep my own private key and then move to a exchange after to sell or trade once trading is activated.

With BitCash those on the exchange benefited a lot more yes but that was due to the really long block times BitGold shouldn't have these issues due to the mining hardware used I will be mining from day 1 as soon as possible with whatever pools are available but will switch to suprnova if/when its available I just mined a bit of Zcash there yesterday to sort my configs and now just need to change the pool address if/when available and there seems to be huge mining support elsewhere unlike ButCash had

Bittrex will be supporting BTG xchange/status/921971095007199233

8000 BLOCKS premined arounf 100000...it will dumped as soon as trade begins. How to know whwther dre will be a merket

https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002320451

Read this article carefully bittrex will keep disable deposit/withdraw of this coin for 24 hours so only those people will be to trade this coin who have their bitcoin on that exchange. I don't think there is early chance to get dumped from dev.
The main thing in this article is that Bittrex won't open the trades till BTG team won't make everything at "in a functional state"

"At this time, the information and codebase presented by the Bitcoin Gold team is not in a functional state and Bittrex will not commit to opening a Bitcoin Gold trading market."

So till everything will be done correctly from BTG team end the pair BTC-BTG won't go live... while trades at others exchanges that supporting BTG will be live already. But I think BTG devs will make all by correct way till fork day.

People seem to forget that the chain snapshot is all that's happening on the 25th BTG won't be available until sometime in November it was stated the 1st but that could change if the codebase is not ready in time and even then I wouldn't expect huge support because no pool/exchange will just take the source and release they will have to go through a testing phase first and this takes time
908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again on: October 22, 2017, 12:41:11 PM
How come there are no futures trading as it's happening with B2X?

Just don't understand why no one is really giving importance to this fork

The only exchange on the B2X futures is HitBTC maybe when HitBTC finally add BTG futures (planned soon) then it will be listed on Coin Market Cap
909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: October 22, 2017, 12:24:46 PM

Yes its to "fix" the EDA with a new difficulty algorithm now the question is do we get full support and everyone upgrades or BitCash & BitCashClassic or just a total mess and failure and no one upgrades
910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: October 22, 2017, 12:10:46 PM
"Since October 12, the price of bitcoin has surged from $4,800 to $6,199, within a span of 10 days. Investors have expressed their concerns in regards to such an abrupt increase in the value of bitcoin without major corrections."

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-price-corrects-5880-270-new-time-high/

“Because this 2x hardfork is so contentious, Coinbase cannot handle it the same way they handled the ETC and BCH hardfork. In other words, they can’t just choose one fork and ignore the other fork. Choosing to support only one fork (whichever that is) would cause a lot of confusion for users and open them up to lawsuits. So Coinbase is forced to support both forks at the time of the hardfork and need to let the market decide which is the real Bitcoin,” said Lee.

It's only one exchange but so far B2X is not looking to overthrow BTC

Now we have bittrex claiming that BTG has a pre-mine of 100,000 BTG:
https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002320451

Read the code and it clearly says 8000 (8000blocks x 12.5 BTG = 100000 BTG) its not really hidden and well known and that's barely 0.5%
912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again on: October 22, 2017, 01:40:26 AM
Need a simple windows wallet. Why just mobile phone wallets have?

Im sure the likes of Exodus, Jaxx etc will support it but until the codebase is finished its not really possible to do yet

I have coins both on Exodus and Jaxx but there's no notification yet from the devs of both wallets, I'm still waiting for their notification and it's only 3 days from here I'm hoping they will support so I can have a Bitcoingold when it launch I'm surprised it's already in exchange.

Its longer than 3 days its just the chain snapshot that's happening then and until the source is complete and can be verified I doubt any will announce anything

How can a fork from Bitcoin be Equihash  Huh

It's just a hashing algorithm (Input>Output) if you modify the software to understand and accept the new algorithm output from a certain block then it will still be valid it's not quite that simple but hopefully you know what I mean

A lot of the coins out there are derived from bitcoin but with a change of work but started from block 1 which is much simpler
915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again on: October 21, 2017, 10:10:58 PM

EDIT: Oh and the premine isn't mentioned here (or on the website) either.. or am I blind ? Smiley

I don't think the premine is mentioned but reading the current code its 8000 blocks (~0.5%)

916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again on: October 21, 2017, 09:49:25 PM
any possibility you can make the wallet work on testnet ?

I'd do some testing before launch ...

Code:
src/bgoldd -daemon -testnet
bgoldd: crypto/common.h:138: int init_and_check_sodium(): Assertion `crypto_sign_verify_detached(sig, message, sizeof(message), pk) != 0' failed.
Aborted

Bump....

bump once more.. any dev here ?

I don't think this thread was started by anyone from bitcoin gold so probably not will you be supporting this once its finished and ready for launch

Hmm.. But how's anyone testing if there's nothing to test with, and "the fork" (tm) is in four days ? Smiley) Usually you'd test a week or so at least prior to launch Smiley

I know it's cutting it close but the chain snapshot is only happening on the 25th the release date will be after this last I heard it will be 1st November but I am expecting delays contact support@btcgpu.org they may be able to help you further and also get you listed on the website

Im guessing you are to do with suprnova ?

Are you anything to do with suprnova ? if so will you be supporting this for mining if so contact them at support@btcgpu.org if not done already to be listed on the website

If the exchange will not support you then this division makes no sense. Without the exchanges the coin is garbage, novaexchange refuses to support you.

If there is value from smaller exchanges then larger exchanges will take notice and list

Last I saw the small futures were around 0.07 BTC (~$400) this may be tiny volume but the big exchanges will be watching

Thoughts on Bitcoin Gold Community Response?
https://btcgpu.org/bitcoin-gold-community-response/

There is nothing to think what they have posted here was already public knowledge but coinbase published a very misleading article with a lot of incorrect facts
