Maybe that figure isn't realistic ... Maybe gpu miners aren't into the expense of testing it right now.  Who knows.  Buy one and test it.  You don't have to buy 100, if that were even possible.  Just one.
902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: does anyone here have a titan v? on: January 26, 2018, 03:05:49 AM
Perhaps you should look it up and compare, if that's the comparison that you want to do.  Did you even specify algo?  You need to be comparing hashrate per algo.

903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: i am literally thinking about renting a cheaper apt to continue mining on: January 26, 2018, 03:00:44 AM
LOL, if you have such a big mining operation that you are afraid of tripping breakers or starting a fire, do you really think its plausible to live in a studio apartment with all of that equipment 20 feet from your bed?

He doesn't want to live in that studio apt does he?  At least that's what I got out of his non sensical post.  I thought that he wanted to rent the studio apt, just to host additional rigs that he can't host at his home, because he is maxed out in that location.

Who knows what he is thinking, i guess.
904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: does anyone here have a titan v? on: January 26, 2018, 02:53:11 AM
Inferior VS. Superior is dependent on hashrate ... RIO is based on what you paid for it.  Calculate it, buy or don't buy based on the calculations.  Post your results or look for others.
905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: i am literally thinking about renting a cheaper apt to continue mining on: January 26, 2018, 02:40:54 AM
Yes industrial space is great, but he said "several" miners ... WTF does several mean?  I assume it means more than 1 and less than 50.  There are no numbers involved.  The fucking question cannot be answered without the numbers.
906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: my gpu crashes on mining start up on: January 26, 2018, 02:34:11 AM
Some people are opposed to sata powered risers.  So far I am not ... Just follow the rule of not powering more than 2 risers per sata connection to the psu and you'll be fine.
907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: January 26, 2018, 02:31:35 AM
I don't think so, as they are algorithms that quite ASIC resistant. For example Scrypt was chosen because it is memory intensive and hard to be used with ASIC miners. The rationale is to democratize mining and making more fair and distributed instead of having concentrated to few large mining companies. There are also some coins that do not require mining such as IOTA. Mining may be a thing of the past actually.

Lol@IOTA.  They can't even get their own shit to work.  Not sure why that shitcoin got pumped so much.  When I look at the top 20 as far as market cap, IOTA is one that I will never touch.
908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: i am literally thinking about renting a cheaper apt to continue mining on: January 26, 2018, 02:27:45 AM
My condo unit is all amped up and more than I am concerned about blowing the circuitry. Based on calculation, if I rent low end 1bdrom or studio, I can put a several miners and still comes out with gain albeit less. Whatchu think?  Tongue

You shouldn't be concerned about tripping breakers.  You should be operating at 80% of your capacity, so you don't have to worry about those things.

You didn't provide any numbers, whatsoever.  How could anyone tell you if what you're thinking is a good idea or a bad idea with 0 as the number?

0=GREAT IDEA ... 0=HORRIBLE IDEA ... Without the variables, no one can calculate and provide an opinion.

Can you post the link to the risers that you bought?

the seller has changed the listing to another product

the seller name is: extraestore

Cheap shit and you got fucked.  Return all of them and buy good risers with good reviews.  Not sure what country you are in, but Amazon has decent choices.  This is what I buy.  I have four 6 gpu rigs running with them.  Have yet to have a single issue ...

Edit: Have yet to have a single issue with those risers, that is ... Lol.

How much will a 6 GPU GTX 1060 Bitcoin mining rig earn me a day?

Wrong section.

You need to be in alt coins.

I have a 13 card 1060 it mines z cash on nice hash which then is changed to btc.

My 13 card does about 25 to 30 usd a card.

You would do 12 to 14 usd day

You mean 25 to 30 usd/day on your 13 card 1060, right? Not 25 to 30 usd a card per day.  If that's the case, I'm doing something wrong ... Lol.
912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: January 26, 2018, 01:39:05 AM
I also might die in 2018.  Who knows?  Anything is possible.
913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Vega on Nicehash? on: January 26, 2018, 01:31:10 AM
Well I've pointed one of my Vega 56 rigs to NH via XMR-STAK to test it out, but I don't think it's going to be more profitable than mining ETN at SpacePool at the moment.  ETN difficulity has gone way up in the past week or so, but ... I don't know ... I guess we'll see.  I'm going to test it for a couple of days and see what I come up with.

From what I can see, you're losing 4% ... 2% to NH and 2% to XMR-STAK dev fee.  Mining to NH gives you the free transfer to CB, but I don't know that I pay 2% to get ETN from my wallet to an exchange and then to CoinBase.  Perhaps you do, if you are sending BTC from an exchange to CB, because the fees are so high.
914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Vega on Nicehash? on: January 26, 2018, 12:25:52 AM
So, if I point a miner at a nicehash server...what do I use as the username?  I guess that's what I don't understand.  I thought you had to use their stupid application.

Okay, this is simple nicehash FAQ on their website stuff.
Little shocked this is the second time I've posted this today but mining is booming I guess...

Make sure you research nicehash to see if that's the right service for you. Depending on your goals, it may or may not be the best service. Remember, there is a reason why people are paying for hashing power.

Here's a list of pools: https://www.nicehash.com/help/which-stratum-servers-are-available
Their FAQ/Help sections are pretty good.
Essentially, you just point your miner to the appropriate nicehash pool and use the nicehash generated address from your account as your username.

Boom!  That's 25% higher return than on Sumokoin.  Thanks man!  Remoted in from work and switched my rig.

So by doing it this way, are you paying 2% to NH for the pool fee and then whatever the dev fee is on your mining software?
915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1070 asus or gigabyte? on: January 26, 2018, 12:22:52 AM
But at the end of the day anything may work if price is good.

That's very true.  Kinda have to get what you can at a decent price these days.  Don't be too picky or you'll be waiting forever.  And don't pay more than you should because you're too impatient.  Paying way too much is a recipe for disaster.
916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: At today's prices it would take 10 months to pay back 1 1080ti before you made $ on: January 26, 2018, 12:20:44 AM
If you've got the patience you should not be buying any price-gouged GPUs at all. Nvidia's webstore is regularly restocked with GPUs, though you have to be quick and it's limited to two cards per customer, and EVGA also occasionally sells GPUs at reasonable prices, near their MSRP.

Reddit's /r/buildapcsales is also another place you can go to for finding deals. It's even possible to set up alerts for posts about a certain GPU on the subreddit. Haven't seen many people mentioning this for finding GPUs before, but I've snagged many nice deals for GPUs from there.

when does nvidia site get restocked I put my  email on the list and they never email me. every single place I put my name on the list wont notify me

How long ago did you sign up for notifications?

10 months to completely get your money back?

Sounds like a fuking STEAL.

Tell me one other business venture you can capture your money back in 10 months.

Name one boys.

PS. this same shortage happened during the summer and people claimed you would never get your money back at that rate.

Most are mining for the wrong reasons: money.

Selling drugs has a much better ROI than mining.

Lol.  Isn't that the truth.

We're not exactly serious.  Laughing because of the OP's forum name.

I never knew that you couldn't run Vega's on NH.  I have Vega's, but never tried them on NH.  What seems to be the problem?
920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Vega 56 x 3 - Miner Freeze at start !! PLEASE HELP on: January 25, 2018, 02:51:27 PM
I got it now

When I set the speed of PCIe setting in BIOS to Gen1.
The problem cleared, thanks  Smiley

Nice!
