901  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: July 20, 2015, 01:31:19 PM
Oh c'mon, this is getting ridiculous! I thought I'd give a small pool a chance but 3 days without a block is getting ridiculous. And it doesn't help that as the luck continues to get worse that more hashrate is running away. Grrrr.

If you just joined, yes, you would think this is ridiculous.  If you were here all last week getting 200+% luck, you would still be ahead of the game.  I trust kano and ck with my miners and support the smaller pools.

I absolutely trust this pool too! And I really want to support small pools like Kano.is and Bitminter. But the obvious downside of long stretches without solving a block can be very disappointing.

Well after that AMAZING 14 block run, this shouldn't be unexpected.  Gotta pay the piper sometime Smiley

...
Would it be possible display the last 100 blocks on the Blocks page? right now onl the last 42 are displayed. Maybe there is a reason 42 are displayed.

Thanks,
Because 6x7

And 10x10 is 100. Not sure I get the 6x7 reference

Isn't 42 a reference to Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy?
42 is the answer.
What's the question Smiley

I would say but I probably wouldn't know what I was asking.

Probably a dumb question, but I've been out of the loop for a while and tried searching the forums to no avail: Is there any way to withdraw my Namecoin balance? I don't see any Namecoin options in settings. Thanks!

Turn on "Show Namecoin Summary" in the settings.  Then enter a namecoin address and set the automatic withdrawal to less than your balance.
905  Other / Archival / Re: Mining pools list on: July 16, 2015, 01:27:09 AM
It takes a fair amount of hours for the pool GH/s to ramp up and when it drops off it's quick.
Since I have to shut the miners down once or twice a day for a number of hours
may make the PPS payout more.

When you drop off for a few hours your shares in open shifts still get block rewards distributed to them.  So it evens out since you still get paid for a while after stopping mining.

PPS will bankrupt pools so it is very bad for Bitcoin, in my opinion.
906  Other / Archival / Re: Mining pools list on: July 16, 2015, 12:11:57 AM
Looking for a pool I can point my Bitmain sha Miners to that has a payout based upon time mined.
Reason is I can only mine 14 hours a day.

You don't get paid by the hour only by the shares submitted.  Any PPLNS pool should be fine.

When I remove one does software keep working like normal? I want to add and remove freely.

It does with my Block Erupters.

My best share reset a little bit ago.  The pool doesn't say it found a block.  Did the pool restart?
There's been a few restarts dealing with the block change times on that crappy slow getblocktemplate command that some phailure wrote that's in bitcoind ...

... but bestshare isn't an attribute of kano.is ...

It's on solo.ckpool.org and yes someone found a block there earlier.

Sounds good.  Thanks for the development.

The minimal stat's via my Bitcoin address show the bestshare just like on solo.ckpool.

Ok so this can only be used with BTC on your pools?

It can only be used with ASIC mining hardware and  SHA256 coins.  You can only get support here for ASIC's and Bitcoin.  If you need altcoin help check the alt coin forum.

Also it can be use with any Bitcoin pool or Bitcoin-QT client.
911  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1800 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: July 08, 2015, 09:30:32 PM
Yes if we get blocks fast enough then the higher hashrate helps, but overall the payout is higher with the lower pool hashrate. Really it all comes back to Luck.

Yes it comes back to LUCK.  But in the long haul the higher hash rate with more payouts, at a lower amount per payout, will win out over lower hash rate with fewer but larger payouts.  You can't count on good luck runs, even though they are very nice when they happen.
912  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1800 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: July 08, 2015, 09:14:10 PM
well the vanishing hash helps my bottom line

I don't see how.  Fewer block solves means fewer payouts.
913  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [CLOSING] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: July 05, 2015, 07:55:17 PM
Sorry to see the pool close.  So how much did you get as donations as NMC?  Interested cuz NMC minimum was not lowered.

I had no trouble clearing out my complete Namecoin balance.
914  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Notice: _ALL POOLS AND SOLO MINERS MUST UPDATE FOR BIP-66_ on: July 04, 2015, 04:19:21 PM
If the 1001 block window reaches 95% all block with version<3 will be rejected and become orphaned.

How could we have reached 95% with f2pool and antpool mining version 2 blocks?

This all seems a bit weird?!?
They were both mining V3 blocks but didn't completely ignore V2 blocks after 95% ...
then f2pool built on a V2 block and as many know the 6 block fork happened.

AntPool sorted out their pool and moved off the 'v2 fork' and found a 'v3 fork' block and everything sorted itself out some time after that when the 'v3 fork' got ahead of the 'v2 fork'
I've no idea if or when f2pool stopped accepting V2 blocks

Ah, I understand now, thanks for the explanation.

whats the lowest hash on here to solve a block? just wondering if its worth running my 3x S1s on here...
Didn't somebody hit with 880GH/s or something a while back?  Pretty sure that was here... Smiley

But wait... Where is the entire block?..  Embarrassed

ckpool is open sourced and used all over the place; it is not the name of a single pool.

Isn't that the label he would have given that Bitcoin address?

This pool didn't find a block yesterday anyway.

I was trying to add a capture as an attachment but do not see where I am allowed to add attachments....

You can put the image someplace accessible, like dropbox, and use the insert image tags and put the url between them.

The --enable-Icarus is correct for Block Erupters.

Also there is a CGMiner thread so post there.
920  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin Mining Pool List on: June 27, 2015, 02:38:17 PM
It's a nice start I think.  Smiley

I think Slush is now PPLNS, but I don't know how to confirm that.
Thanks for your effort so far,
Sam

It's a sort-of PPLNS. Unless I've misunderstood, it's a PPLNS with exponentially decaying share values.

Ah, ok.
Thanks,
Sam
