My next masternode will be on a different host in an other country.  Lol that's probably a good idea with all these Amazon EC2 servers. BUT at least they have a choice of 6 or so locations around the U.S and the world. My next will be behind a decent DDOS protection. A strong root password can help too. |

Can I suggest that if people want to offer criticism, please step up and offer your time & work to the cause. Darkcoin is entirely volunteer based, so we do the best we can with the resources we have available. I would LOVE it if the solution were as simple as "stop changing things, everything's fine". A vote for no more changes to the logo is just that -- your vote. Please don't try to subvert the democratic process. And let's not kid ourselves -- there's still a lot of work to be done. Logo --> branding guide --> press releases, graphics, website, etc. The process of hashing out a good solution & some form of consensus is always going to be painful & tedious, and this is something I fully accepted before jumping in. Branding is important even if it seems trivial sometimes. So let's take the time to get it right. The community is coming out with some great work, like the baby blue variation. To me these contributions represent progress. A vote will likely be called to decide on the logo & colour palette, and then we can consider these things finalised and move forward. I fully understand & sympathise that branding efforts are taking quite a lot of time. It's a pain in my ass too, let me assure you. But I believe in taking the time to do things right the first time. Please get behind the effort and support it, because it represents our face to the world. To address the concern about volume of posts on logo stuff in this thread, may I make a suggestion: We move all logo/branding discussion to darkcointalk.org, as a self-enforced policy.Yay/nay? The thing is that the vote was to choose a logo and its variations, however, the chosen one and its variation are only b&w, so the vote should be between the two of them, not between different color scheme. Now it seems that the people who want the most to change the color are the ones who were against that logo in the first place... So no I'm not trying to subvert the democratic process. |

Is there an ETA for the hard-fork to implement masternode payments?
I'm going to be releasing a couple more updates for V6 to stabilize masternodes and payments. Then V7 will have masternode signatures for secure communication (ECDSA). After that maybe a couple fixes, then we'll be out a beta. After that my next project is masternode payments. I'd say 3-4 weeks out maybe? Then we'll start the RCs and after the network grows and we have stability, I'll opensource. Thank you for the update - so this means a month (or more?) before Darksend is out of beta and fully public? It wont be released until it ready, I know that vague, but we want to make sure all the bugs are worked out so the final product works exactly the way it should. Technically DarkSend works now, we just want to make it better, we hope everyone understands and agrees. Yes, eduffield's professionalism is praiseworthy. I was just seeking a guesstimate - what would be your best guess at this point, 1 month, 2 months, more? Please stop asking every two days about guesstimate or best-guess of full release, they are not there yet. The coin needs to grow more and DarkSend needs to be tested, I suppose, with a lot more transactions. Only clone-makers are that eager to see the full release. |

Are they using Evan's code and giving it another name? Is that kosher? Sucks if that is the case. The same better not happen when DarkSend is open sourced! BlackSend.....blah blah HideSend, NinjaSend  Hopefully I think that the coin will have the time to grow before the open source stage. |

I don't like any Darkcoin logo that has a key hole. I don't like how it looks, and a key hole doesn't represent what's special about Darkcoin.
the winning new logo is good, it would be nice to compare some color variations like with blue, purple, green, or grey.
I like it as it is, simple, black and white. New poll for color variations ---> more time spent on this, let's settle for that one and select now a variation for the other products (DarkSend etc.). |
