901  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New here and wants to make some money on: December 01, 2023, 07:20:33 AM
Be patient about it, learn more about this forum, post good and earn merit. If you are able to earn merit continuously and get to full member, apply on an opened signature campaign or new signature campaign and start earning money by posting. If you are a good poster, you will enjoy and rank higher. After you are making money through signature campaign, you can then look for other ways becuase you can not just rely only on signature campaign.
902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: November 30, 2023, 04:20:59 PM
With hundreds or probably thousands of games online, I'd like to ask why would you choose sports betting?
some people are going for sport betting because they like watching the sport and also use the sport matches to gamble.

But if you compare sport and casino odds, you will realize that casinos are better, but it is if you will not be addicted to the games that in short time it has finished and awarded the winners. If you will not be addicted, casinos are better.
903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jack Dorsey wants to decentralize Bitcoin mining with new investment on: November 30, 2023, 01:13:44 PM
Honestly, I still don't understand how the distribution of rewards will work well and how investors will get rewards fairly, it still makes me confused. I will continue to follow Jack Dorsey's plans further.
It will only be in a decentralized way, but all other things we be like it supposed to be (like the fee that should be paid to the mining pool will still be paid) but just that the mining reward and the transaction fee reward will not first be earned by the mining pool but be distributed to miners in a decentralized way. Although, how this would be done is what I do not know because the address mining reward is sent to has to be controlled by someone, like the mining pool which will have the private key.
904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: November 29, 2023, 03:36:12 PM
I don’t give much specific percentage but I’m relying only on my current free money and deposit the same amount which I’m always using in gambling. I’m usually using only an amount equivalent to my signature campaign earning so that everything that I will lose is just from my side hustle here.
If you consider signature campaign earning as something fun and not hustling, it is a free money. But you are considering it as a side hustle. I can not use my side hustle to gamble. Hustling is hustling for money and not free money. I will join all my earning together and take just little amount not more than 5% from it and use it to gamble. But maybe this your side hustle is just little amount to your salary.

I don’t compute for specific percentage since I don’t want to allocate funds to gamble using my job salary so that my personal savings will be safe no matter what is the result of my game.
Good idea, if the money you are receiving from your side hustle is far more.
905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Jack Dorsey wants to decentralize Bitcoin mining with new investment on: November 29, 2023, 01:24:23 PM
Let us make it not long.

It is about the mining pool to be called Ocean that Jack Dorsey has raised funding for to.

After a mining pool mine a block, the mining pool have the reward before paying miners that join their pool. But with Ocean, the sharing of reward is going to be decentralized in a way not the pool that will first have the coins, but the reward will be shared in a decentralized way.

But is this necessary? I am thinking it is a good idea, but what about you people. Is it a good ideas?
906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sometimes betting is just ridiculous. Sometimes it is complete nonsense. on: November 29, 2023, 12:34:31 PM
I have just later think of this, it is true that war is not good, but people that are using it to bet are not the one causing the war, their bet do not add any benefit or harm to the war. If they bet on it, I do not think there is anything bad about it. If people do not want such a bet, they should tell the governments of the world not to go against each other in a way that will lead to war, but that is not possible. But if there is no war, there will be no bet like this.
907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: November 29, 2023, 08:27:20 AM
That would be a millionaire if he stops gambling,I remember some guys who had a small IT devices shop and they were selling computers and laptops, all was going well with them as they were some acquaintances of mine until one day they started gambling. They started with small amounts in the beginning until they build a balance,a good one and they started playing with over 1000 dollars bets and got further and further until one good day they lost it all and this to say that you can never become a millionaire over the long run with any type of betting.
One happened in my country. The man's father do not have money but he inherited a plot of land from his father, he sold it to send his child to a white nation to work. He worked for 5 years and came back home to start a business. It was a good business. One day, he saw a friend and they become close again and talked about gambling. After his friend introduced him to gambling, his business stopped to be going on as it was because he used all the money to gambling and lost all and his business died.

The one that happened recently just like three months ago happened in my street to someone that I know. He is a guy that is selling meet in the street. I did not see him selling meat again. I asked people the reason. They said he has used his money to gamble and he lost. It pain me.
908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: November 29, 2023, 08:14:44 AM
So what do you think we will do here? I mean, we have this gambling discussion section to talk about gambling, why not talk about success sometimes rather than talking about how to prevent losses and how to avoid being addicted in gambling?
If you talk about losses, gamblers will still gamble. But the one that read about losses can know that they should just use the money they can afford to lose to gamble. If you talk about the success, more people will gamble recklessly until they finally understand after several losses.

This gambling section is here to encourage people from gambling, not to discourage them... and the fact that you are wearing a signature for a gambling site, that alone is already a way showing people your support on the gambling site you are working with.
You are right about this, but I see gambling board more as a way to also be educated about gambling. Education about what not to do and what do do.
909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Request to learn gambling on: November 29, 2023, 08:04:10 AM
Too bad that she may not find a second job due to age but maybe selling something might be a better option. Selling doesn't care about age.
Personal job is good. She should look for what people want in his area, find a good location and begin such business if she is able to afford to start it. There are many businesses, there are some that she can be able to afford.

Another one is to just buy some coins and hold it for a long time until their prices has increased. Example is bitcoin, it is not too late to buy bitcoin. If she wants to buy coins, she should make research and not also invest on shitcoins.
910  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: is electrum safe? on: November 28, 2023, 06:37:25 PM
For the electron wallet I see no wrong about it. It's a person choice to choose any type of wallet of your choice but when choosing be security concious. For the Cex you said I think it's  better you save your coin in DEX rather CEX.
You can use noncustodial wallet for the savings, not decentralized exchanges. Decentralized exchanges works in a way to be used also for the exchange of coins and finally the coin will be sent to an address on your noncustodial wallet. If you want what you are talking about to be correct, it is that custodial wallets and decentralized exchanges should not be used for savings, that noncustodial wallet which people have the private key should be used.
911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Original USD value of a BTC transaction on: November 28, 2023, 05:11:08 PM
You can do that on some explorer like blockchair.com

That is how it is also on Electrum on mobile phone or as a watch-only on mobile phone.

Or if you are using Unstoppable wallet, go to your history and the amount of the coin in USD when you send it will be what you will see and it will not change. But on the page your coins are listed, you will see the present price. I like Unstoppable wallet for this.
912  Other / Meta / Re: Can a merit source re-start Ratimov merit threads. on: November 28, 2023, 10:20:52 AM
The topic that perfectly same like you asked:
1. [v2][Self Moderated] In Merits, Count Down To Your Next Rank...

Bonus (related to meriting someone post):
1. [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source
2. *Restarted* Post history review offer
3. [Merit] Share your best posts/threads with Fillippone to be merit assessed

So, what you need next? every merit source has it's own policy, rule or subjectivity to merit someone post.
There is one more to add to it.

[Merit] Help posts in local boards that did not receive enough merits

Another thing is that theymos should increase the merit sources. He can also remove some merit source. I hardly notice 50 active merit sources among the 109 merit sources that we have.
913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: November 28, 2023, 09:31:37 AM
Even as serious as this seems, it's still very funny to me to be honest, and if I could meet the op face to face, some of the questions I possibly would have asked is, isn't he an active poster on this forum and in this gambling board, there are several threads that discussed of the dangers of gambling with borrowed funds, as doing this have never ended well for the most of those who ever did.
Among us will be addicted gamblers. Some will know the truth but they can not just control it until one day that something not good happened to them financially. I am only thinking that OP may be addicted or getting towards addiction. But it is good that he realized this very early and he should only gamble with the amount of money that he can afford to lose and not with borrowed money. He stated that he knew that it is against one of the gambling rules but he still just fall victim of it.
914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck in mempool @ 17.9 for 2 weeks on: November 28, 2023, 07:46:30 AM
But when I have been using Electrum wallet, it will not take more than 3 weeks before I will see the coin back on my wallet and I will spend it again.
How long it will take a transaction to be dropped when using Electrum depends entirely on the Electrum servers you are connect to. Some will run with the default of two weeks, some will run with higher limits, and some will run with virtually no limit at all. If you are still seeing your unconfirmed transaction on Electrum after several months, you can try swapping to different servers to see if you can find one which has already dropped it.

Alternatively just make a full RBF replacement.
The best alternative to me is to never make a transaction that does not have RBF. If my transaction has RBF, all I will do after frustration of stuck transaction is to just increase the fee. I will prefer this than full RBF that I will be looking for a node that is supporting it to rebroadcast my transaction because all nodes are supporting the old and still existing RBF. But if a transaction is not supporting RBF, the person that make the transaction will have no other option than to go for your suggestion.

916  Other / Meta / Re: sMerit should be sent out in 2's to allow for 1 sMerit to be born on: November 27, 2023, 08:48:54 AM
What's the point of this thread? alright you've learn a new thing about merit and it's good to make you familiar with the forum's system, now what?
No suggestions in the topic, which makes it not necessary. I think OP just want to post something/topic today and posted this. But it has nothing useful.
917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Platforms Where You Get The Same Level Of Enjoyment Like You Do In Gambling on: November 27, 2023, 08:15:31 AM
It's really hard to feel the same kind of rush and happiness from other things than gambling.
Some people can be like this, but out of 100 among them that are not addicted to gambling, hardly will you see 20%. It is gambling addiction that will make someone to like gambling as fun than any other things. Becuase aside work, there are many things that you can have fun with if you do them. Although gambling is part of it, but they are numerous. Example is going on swimming or fishing with a hook.
918  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk news ( more like drama/gossip thread) where to start it? on: November 27, 2023, 07:52:40 AM
reputation and off topic would be appropriate for such topics. Drama does not happen very often and you can join the forum channel on Discord where forum related events can be discussed more quickly. If the topic is not locked and self-moderated, it will turn into dharma in its entirety.
Why will the discussion be locked? Threads like that are kept opened unless another one to continue discussing it is opened.

Off-topic is not a board for it. Because it is about the members of this forum, it should be on reputation board. There may be some of it that may also be in meta, but if it is about a member on this forum, it should be on reputation.
919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Many Bets to Know How Good Enough You Are? on: November 27, 2023, 06:35:58 AM
For sports betting? I don't think there is like a set of numbers that you can used as a metrics here. Its because sports betting is not a game that is based on chance. Maybe if this is like a dice game, wherein around x number of spins you might find some variance and see that you are successful or not.
Casino games are luck based, it is what that can not most likely be used for seeing how a gambler is good in winning but they are games of chances. If you are not frequently gambling with sport, the luck will be more than using it to gamble all the time. It has a way you can also analyze and predict while gambling with sport. But I am talking about just gambling with a single game and not accumulation. But above all, it is very important to know that there is nothing like what OP is talking about if a gambler can not use an amount of money that he can afford to use to gamble because if using high amount, that is a bad gambler already and there is nothing good about that.
920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck in mempool @ 17.9 for 2 weeks on: November 27, 2023, 06:27:52 AM
Yes, I'm both the sender and the receiver.  Grin
Then there's nothing to worry about Smiley I've had transactions that took months to confirm. As long as you don't need the funds, just let your wallet broadcast it until it gets confirmed.
This happened to me 2 or 3 years ago. I waited or almost 3 months before my unconfirmed transaction was confirmed. But when I have been using Electrum wallet, it will not take more than 3 weeks before I will see the coin back on my wallet and I will spend it again. I did not like what happened when my coin was unconfirmed for almost 3 months but I was the sender and the receiver and I did not panic becuase of it.
