I just picked randomly .I did played 3 draws just beacuse i dont know which one to pick between them.Happy to see that I broke records😁
It might be random but some football knowledge will go into the picks you made. You rode a expected difficult first match week which many will struggle to predict many wins or losses.
Now we have to come for your yellow cap next matchweek.

A decent start for me though I missed some pretty easy predictions which affected the overall points.

902  Economy / Speculation / Re: Low Interest Rates Impact Bitcoin's Next Halving Price Surge? on: August 15, 2023, 09:47:15 PM
Could the next Bitcoin halving potentially result in a price increase that is different from previous patterns, where low interest rates were a key factor behind the price surge?
We have had 3 halvings and the last of them recorded the lowest price returns, you cannot then attribute that price surge to low interest rates.
Interest rates could have been a factor but not a major one.

Can anyone explain how interest rates influenced the past halving's impact on bitcoin's price and whether this could challenge the expectations of a price increase in the next halving?
It had an impact cause it allows people have more money to spend on commodities like Bitcoin, increasing the demand.
It does not challenge expectations of a price increase and there is not enough link to draw any correlations.

903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending Money From a Debit Card to a Bitcoin Address on: August 13, 2023, 08:10:06 PM
...from a debit card to a Bitcoin address without having to create a Bitcoin wallet?
You cannot have a bitcoin address without a wallet.
You need a means to interact with the inputs and outputs from your bitcoin address, hence the need for a wallet. You can generate your keys but to be able to sign a transaction you need a wallet.

Barcelona has named a strong line up for the first game of the season withe two of the new players (Gundogan and Romeu) making their debut.
I expect a routine victory for Barca despite playing away from home or what will be home for this season.

With the injuries rocking Madrid, Barcelona has a chance to take advantage should they slip up early on in the season and would have to handle their end of business to make that happen.

...but personally, I think it's great if it reduces time-wasting and simulation. I would prefer if teams who did it were punished by refs to give that extra time only if the opponent needs it (and if the team guilty is losing, they blow regular).
It helps a lot with time wastage as the average time the ball was in play for EPL games last season was about 50-60 minutes (approximately), which in my opinion called for a drastic measure which the FA delivered on.
How I expect it should work is over the course of the season when clubs realize they do not get let off for wasting time we get more fluid games with minimal stoppage except for injuries. This will naturally bring down the minutes added on averagely.

Not the best matchday for me but that is expected through out the course of the season.

Real Madrid has put in a commanding performance so far tonight and the highlight of the night has been the promising Jude Bellingham, he grabbed his first goal for the club and has put in a stellar performance. I will be expecting that the coach pulls him off soon as he is new to the team and system, even though he took to it like a duck to water.

Looks to be a first win of the season against a very tricky opponent especially when playing in their home ground.

Alexander Isak was on fire today and could have easily gotten a hatrick today as he missed a great goal scoring chance just after scoring a brace. He is looking very sharp and should better his return of 10 goals last season with expected more games and playing time as he joins Haaland with 2 goals after first matchday.

The link up play between Barnes and Wilson was also delightful to watch. A promising season ahead for the toons.

I weirdly missed out on the easiest correct score of the week in Manchester City vs Burnley and got two of the relatively more difficult ones.
Newcastle were on fire in their fixture tonight and really showed that they are ready for the season against not so easy opponents to face in Villa.

The highlight of the matchweek so far has to be the worldie of an assist by Gabriel Martinelli to set up Nketiah.
It is almost like football never left.

What new communication do you have with the team and are you getting prompt response when you make an inquiry?
The best you can do is to wait for a bit and give the team time to do their necessary checks, which many companies do when making a relatively large payout.

Also go through their terms of service if you have not done that yet and ensure you are not breaking any of their rules as at the time you won the bet.

Unless it's changed you don't really need to provide anything other than an email. Just use a fake name for privacy's sake if that's what you're worried about.
I am all good and have made my predictions for the first match week of the season.
Time to sit back and enjoy the game.

@hilariousandco anything else I have to do, besides making the payment?

913  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PayPal Just Announced Plans to Launch a USD Stablecoin - Thoughts? on: August 11, 2023, 10:02:23 AM
I am not a fan of closed source, centralized services like PayPal and Stable coins. It is not big news for cryptcurrency as PayPal users could already easily by crypto on their platform and creating a stable coin will not convince those on the fence to buy some bitcoin.

This will have some alight adoption impact but I do not see any long term gain for Bitcoin.

914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin F*cking ETF on: August 11, 2023, 09:43:05 AM
Does Bitcoin need ETFs approved to grow in price? Definitely not. Bitcoin has in the space of 1 years drown faster than any other financial speculation and all that without any ETFs. Adoption has also not slowed down in any way due to lack of institutional investors.

The more traction we give to the discussion the more influence we give the SEC over the price of Bitcoin based on their decision to accept or reject an ETF bid.

Haaland has been able to succeed like that, so it would be very reasonable for Haaland in second season later to be even better than before.
It is not reasonable at all. Only the top top footballers have the ability to maintain top performance season after season at the same intensity. Haaland has done this for the seasons he has players, from the EPL, to the Bundesliga to the Austrian Bundesliga.

I will be really impressed if he replicates the successes of last season.

916  Other / Meta / Re: Whats your take on adding 2FA key as a Bitcointalk account security features. on: August 10, 2023, 07:31:25 PM
2FA is a good security measure to prevent account thefts and has been suggested several times on the forum. Staked address is a measure to restore an already stolen account which can already have some damage dealt to the user, but 2FA prevents the damage from happening if done properly from the user.

@PowerGlove created an SMF patch [1] to make it easier for theymos and he dropped some merits there suggesting that theymos is open to including it just as he did with the OP tag on the thread starter. Let us wait a bit and see if any changes occur.
A user can add secret questions
Secret questions have been disabled on the forum due to security risk.

So why don't we add a Google authentication option as a security feature to the forum?
2FA is good, but Gogle authenticator is the worst privacy option. There are so many preferred ones which the forum can use, or opt for the one created by a forum user.

Few hours to the start of the beautiful game of football in the English Premier league.
The big question is if Haaland will be able to recreate the performances of last season. Having a good first season is one thing, but having the remarkable season that Haaland has, it sort of puts pressure on him to live up to the high expectation he set on himself.
My bet is that he gets to succeed but not score as much goals as he did last season.

Nunez is also under pressure to come good after a very slow start to his life in England, he has to defend his huge transfer fee.

The other strikers in the top teams also has something to proof and will make for a dramatic golden boot race.

918  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: help to modify JavaScript code to generate last word in 24 word seed key on: August 10, 2023, 01:37:48 PM
I am not the best with javascript and cannot be of much help. But is there any exact reason for why you want to generate your own seed, especially if you are not particularly sure of how to go about it?

I consider it safer to have it generated on an open source, reputable wallet software lik bitcoincore, than to attempt to do it directly. Also there is no significant added security if you go for 24 words over 12, both are technically impossible to break.

919  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: If you used "bx seed" you probably already lost your bitcoins, but if... on: August 10, 2023, 01:19:06 PM
Clearly, there is a shortage of trustworthy bitcoin tools.
And there should not be an expectation of trustworthy tools. Many tools start of with a good reputation and attracts a ton of users who do not regularly review the code, making it possible for them to turn dubious without notice.

We should not trust any tool no matter how long it has been functioning effectively.
