901  Economy / Reputation / Re: The curious case of forum member: rby (of the Rubycoin scam) on: July 02, 2023, 03:47:38 PM
This thread has been created to allow all matters related to the rby account being discussed here because a different thread related to discussing generalised Tagging Accounts Sellers And Tagging Traded/Sold/Bought Accounts is being taken taken off-topic by issues related to the rby account.

Feel free to post here in the uncensored thread.

What's going on here? how can a case be opened without attaching preliminary evidence? while sending others to look for evidence. Is it a conspiracy? where you will open a thread and your friend will come with the proof?

If it's so easy to open a judgment thread without attaching any evidence, can I also create a "jollygood accuse that wasn't proven and he didn't apologize" thread. In my opinion, DT must be fair, if you accuse and are right, please tag, if you accuse and are wrong, then improve your reputation and apologize

In the previous thread, it was very easy for you to accuse me, without any evidence, based only on your opinion. When a member is considered too quick to understand, you will think I'm an alt, when a member is too stupid, you will think the member is trash. So? are you just the best with your craziness?

My advice, attach the evidence or close this thread
902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Stablecoin for bitcoin on: July 02, 2023, 12:20:56 AM
I see in this forum that many disagree with the concept of fiat money. But if we look at the price of bitcoin, most people like it when the price of bitcoin goes up. This means bitcoin is inseparable and independent as a currency without considering fiat dollars. At this point, bitcoin is considered an asset

With so many stablecoins for fiat dollars, bitcoin cannot break away from dollars. Maybe if you want to support bitcoin more and have bitcoin as the main base, is it possible to create a stablecoin for bitcoin?

I haven't seen a stablecoin project for bitcoin yet. Maybe if there was a stablecoin for bitcoin then bitcoin would be considered the main currency in crypto and the price would be considered stable

Suppose there is a stablecoin called Bitcash. Bitcash will always be valued the same as bitcoin.

For example:
Code:
1 Bitcoin = 100.000 Bitcash
903  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tagging Accounts Sellers And Tagging Traded/Sold/Bought Accounts on: July 01, 2023, 03:28:48 PM
I don't see anything in that link, in his trust profile I don't even see untrusted feedback.

You didn't look hard enough.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does this have something to do with Royse? I saw a poker player thread with royse getting heated. Looks like you took it that way back
904  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk; a school on its own. on: July 01, 2023, 02:59:58 PM
I am aways very grateful that I am part of this community, and I don't know how my life would have been If I wasn't part this amazing community.

I think you'll be fine even if you don't join this forum. There are more people who don't know this forum but they are fine. Besides this forum, you can also search for information about bitcoin or crypto on Google.

Although I agree this forum is more complete to find out about bitcoin. And of course this forum can make money, although I can't yet
905  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tagging Accounts Sellers And Tagging Traded/Sold/Bought Accounts on: July 01, 2023, 02:20:31 PM
~snip~

Ok... This is quite long and I will try to answer it with my limited English skills

I think I have caught the attention of a god class member. Maybe it's good for me or bad for me, I don't know, let time will tell my progress in this forum

I just joined this forum about 24 days ago. When I first joined everyone was explaining about forum rules, I read them, then there was a case about using AI, I read about it, then there was a second use case for AI, I read about it, then the case of naim and abraham, I read about it, then the case of royse with poker players , I read it, then I read the timelord thread, Saw many members tagged by actmyname, then I read the meta thread and beniner & help.

Isn't that enough to tell me about this forum?

Before you, there were many people who thought I caught  to know this forum too quickly. Including how I get merit here. I think it's easy, there are lots of threads that help members get merit, they're all here and can be read by anyone

I even sometimes read threads in Russian and I translate them. Maybe my language skills are limited but there is technology that can help me, google translate is enough to help me read many threads here.

My next question is, how long does it take for a new member to understand the forum? As for what needs to be explained here, anyone who wants to read it can understand it quickly.

Sometimes I'm smart enough or sometimes I'm like an idiot, that's a must, because I also need merit, new members like me won't be considered if I answer, so I think it's better to be stupid and ask a lot of questions.

I found a violation but no one answered it, that's because I'm an ordinary member, if you find it, many member will reply and many will give merit. I already understand that most merits are given to famous people, new members are very difficult to get because we are not considered.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5382714.msg62477458#msg62477458

Like I said, I have a friend who has joined this forum. When I was told that I often comment on reputation threads, my friend forbade it. He told me not to relate with DT, because I could get marked. But I ignore it

I think this thread is interesting to discuss. The other threads are just small talk for signature campaigns. I'm not on a campaign so I'm more interested in discussing. Even though I know that what I say won't be taken into account because I'm still a junior member

It might annoy you when a junior member joins in commenting here. Indeed I am a nobody, and you are a DT and a member of the god class. If you tell me to stop commenting here. I will do it. I want to be here safely, I also want to join the campaign one day.

But I didn't find any interesting thread other than here. Maybe it's better for me to become an ordinary member with lots of posts to get merit. And one day you will judge me as a trash poster who is only concerned with merit and sigcamp.

You are free to judge me, because you are the judge. I won't be able to do anything. I'm also not a Timelord2067 who has a high level but doesn't follow the campaign. I'm just an ordinary member. And if you tell me to be an idiot and not to be smart here. I will do it with pleasure.

I hope my writing can be read because my language skills are limited. Maybe I'll edit/fix it for readability

I think this has gone off topic. I'll do what you say in next reply, and after that you can continue the discussion on this topic
906  Other / Meta / Re: Can activity back to 0? on: June 30, 2023, 02:21:27 PM
He will need a lot of time again to get a high rank since he literally reset his forum rank the moment he deleted his post that is attached to his activity count. Maybe he is trying to start fresh on his account to have a good post history and easy to accept on signature campaign manager since some of campaign manager consider post or activity to merit ratio.

Is it necessary to reset all activities to be accepted in a signature campaign? even now he doesn't have enough rank to sign up for a campaign. I think what he did made the other members suspicious, when he deleted all the old posts, maybe there is another goal or there is history that he wants to erase
907  Other / Meta / Re: Can activity back to 0? on: June 30, 2023, 02:12:16 PM
If you delete all your posts, yes your activity will go back to zero.

Activity works by taking the number of posts you have made within a 2-week period (capping at 14) and adding it to your current activity, which starts at 0. These values are stored in a database and updated with a script that runs periodically every other Wednesday.

So mass-deleting tons of your posts will lower your activity and consequentially your rank on the next Activity update cycle.

Next question:
Why do members do that? I think everyone likes it when have a high rank
908  Other / Meta / Re: Can someone please tell me what happened with all these dead image links of old? on: June 30, 2023, 02:08:51 PM
~snip~
What I am sure of is that there is a thread somewhere and some smarty pants is going to kindly share the link to that thread because I have yet to find it! I'm sure i've missed some huge memo on this or something somewhere. But could someone please explain to me why those image source codes no longer work, and tell me which ones do?

The forum has a search option, and someone who has been on the forum for a long time should use such options if they are interested in something. Besides, Meta is not a board that has any restrictions in the sense that you should not regularly check what is happening on the forum.

I don't know what to say. Because I was going to make a post like this but you preceded it. So I can only comment

I agree with you
909  Other / Meta / Can activity back to 0? on: June 30, 2023, 01:58:35 PM
Today is not beautiful enough for me. I was surprised by a few things on the forums that I thought I understood. I found something strange again. I think so

My question is:
1] How could this happen?
2] Does he delete all posts and activity will go back to the beginning?
3] If I'm not mistaken, he should at least be a hero member
4] Is this normal? or am I the one who doesn't know about phenomena like this?
910  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members on: June 30, 2023, 01:39:33 PM
I agree with Majestic-milf that it's probably not worth buying bitcoin now because there should be a new strong FUD. The situation on the market does not look like the bottom of the market and it is still early to move high up the price of bitcoin. But it is interesting to read the opinion of members of the forum who do not show their interest in cryptocurrencies for long.

If you know about bitcoin, then you would realize that if you do not have much of any, such as being a low coiner or a no coiner, then it is always a good idea to get some bitcoin as soon as possible.... which includes figuring out a plan in regards to how much BTC that you are going to want to have in your investment portfolio which should not be none... as far  as shitcoins, such as your reference to cryptocurrencies, there is no need to get any of that... so staying on zero may well be a good idea when it comes to crypto.

Since sometime after March 2020, I had been recommending that newbies to bitcoin start out somewhere in the ballpark of a 1% to a 25% allocation of their investment portfolio into bitcoin, prior to March 2020, my recommended starting target investment/allocation range was 1% to 10%.

Accordingly, the actual target number will depend on the person, and each person should be trying to figure out specifics of his/her own investment plan(s) including whether or not to go outside of what I am suggesting to be a beginning starting range to be considering for the bitcoin portion of the allocation.

Another thing is that hardly anyone even has any kinds of savings or investment plan (maybe some people own property or they have a 401k, which is better than nothing but still may well be inadequate), so frequently they need to work on getting their shit together and perhaps put themselves into a situation that they have some discretionary income in order that they are able to invest... no one can really tell anyone exactly how to get their shit together sufficiently enough in order that when they are investing into bitcoin with a portion of their income (also perhaps starting out somewhere between 1% and 25%), but then maybe they will not be able to invest $100 per week, and they might have to start at some lower amount such as $10 per week, and sometimes even $10 per week might be difficult for some folks,

....but still it seems best to get started (in terms of getting some kind of a bitcoin stake) even if the amounts might be small in the beginning.. and then figuring out the details as you go.. including improving your understanding of each of the following individual considerations, which would be your cashflow, how much bitcoin you have already accumulated, your other investments (including cash reserves), your view of bitcoin as compared with other investments, timeline, risk tolerance, and your time, skills, goals (investment/lifestyle targets) and your abilities to strategize, plan, research and learn along the way including tweaking strategies from time to time to consider trading, reallocating, use of leverage and/or financial instruments.

In the end, each person is responsible for themselves, including if they get their shit together, and including whether or not they get off zero in regards to their bitcoin investment and including whether or not they get distracted into gambling mindset, such as failing/refusing to understand the difference between bitcoin and shitcoins and buying shitcoins rather than bitcoin.  Each person has the right to do what they like, including having fun staying poor (and maybe I am being a bit snarky with that statement, because one aspect of investing should provide options, including having an option to preserve and build wealth, even if the amounts might NOT be enough to cause a person to transition into richie status).

Oya okay... Yes.. Yes... Okay... Have you ever learned to simplify writing? I admit what you do is amazing. At least writing a lot of words it takes time. I hope no one interviews you, or it's a nightmare because I can't imagine how many words you will write. Maybe I didn't even imagine it when I was sleeping
911  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tagging Accounts Sellers And Tagging Traded/Sold/Bought Accounts on: June 30, 2023, 01:10:20 PM
It seems some FUD and generalisations are creeping into this discussion. Hopefully this side issue will be pushed to one side.

PytagoraZ - not quite sure I follow your argument. Are you saying someone who owns multiple accounts shouldn't be considered for scrutiny simply because although it is established they controll the UID's it may not have been proven those accounts were bought?

OMG...how is this actually? You are someone who I think really likes alt tagging, but you have alt? Honestly I'm confused by the rules of this forum. My understanding of this forum seems to collapse in an instant.

I'm so confused, actually alt is prohibited or not? Please answer me... I am confused to understand this forum
912  Other / Meta / Re: Can Bitcointalk Adopt the Web3 System? on: June 30, 2023, 10:11:47 AM
This forum existed before web3 was even a thing. web3 login isn't a feature most bitcoiners are interested in so it might not be worth the cost of redesigning this forum to adopt these features. There would also be privacy concerns. A wallet which has access to your xpub would be able to tie your transaction history with your identity on this forum.

At least for privacy concern, creating separate wallet only for login purpose should reduce the concern.

yeah, looks like they're too scared to connect the wallet. Although they can link an alt wallet instead of the main wallet.

Actually new forum software called EpochTalk is in development, but who knows when it's ready to use.

Are you serious? this seems good news. Can you describe some of the advantages of the EpochTalk software
913  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tagging Accounts Sellers And Tagging Traded/Sold/Bought Accounts on: June 30, 2023, 09:39:31 AM
I think if there is agreement in this discussion that past mistakes will be forgiven...

I feel you're over reaching in your expectations of others. Especially where scammers are concerned.

For scammers I think it is not unforgivable. Only people with alt accounts. And that mistake is only in the past. At least 1 or 2 years ago

914  Other / Meta / Re: TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk on: June 30, 2023, 06:02:47 AM
After uploading, and on the embed links page, choose the "BBCode full fix HxW" option.

Code:
[img height=168 width=619]https://www.talkimg.com/images/2023/06/30/S4ClN.png[/img]

If you want to adjust the size, just change the height and width number. Try to choose a number that is proportional or, if you prefer, define just one of them, so that the image looks good.

Wow, this feature already exists. Sorry I didn't see that setting when using the talkimg service

Test Img

Edit: It worked. Thank you talkimg. This is very easy for those of us who are not familiar with code
915  Other / Meta / Re: What does post quality really mean on: June 30, 2023, 05:40:08 AM
Alot of persons on this forum always advise newbies on post quality.my question is simple and on behalf of other newbies like my self is it necessary to monitor your activity and post count in comparison with your merits

Like does it mean  someone with and account say
Activity;50
Merit;87
Post;51

Has more quality post or is a better poster than someone with say
Activity;100
Merit;87
Posts;150

I thought you were asking about quality content. Why do you provide an example of getting merit against the number of activities or posts? There's no need to think about it, or you'll be stressed out.

Let it all flow and enjoy. It should be noted that:

1] Merit delivery is not moderated
2] Delivery of merit can be subjective (Mostly not)
3] If you need merit, many threads can be used to get merit
4] Find your own way in forums

But if you want to see quality posts made by new users, you can check out:
Project: Preturnio - a full text search engine for Bitcoin
preturnio Activity 11/merit 258

If you want to be like him, do as he did.
916  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tagging Accounts Sellers And Tagging Traded/Sold/Bought Accounts on: June 30, 2023, 04:25:04 AM
I have read these rules. But there are also those who really like to mark alt accounts. Who actually makes the rules? Didn't they break the rules by making up their own?

The trust system on the forum is unmoderated. There aren't any rules in place to stop a member from tagging a seller's or buyer's account.

<cut>
But no one dares to enter the forum for fear of being banned/marked

I call this bullshit. I haven't come across a single instance where accounts are tagged by DT members as alts solely based on token transfers between them. There is always other (circumstantial) evidence that connects them.

Noted and thanks

I think if there is agreement in this discussion that past mistakes will be forgiven, it might be better if there is a dedicated thread to open acknowledgment of past mistakes, and it's worth noting that forgiven mistakes are about past alt /sale of accounts (according to the agreement). Let the members admit it and maybe it will be better

Past mistakes due to scam or fraud, in my opinion is unforgivable
917  Other / Meta / Re: TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk on: June 30, 2023, 04:12:07 AM
I still don't understand how to set the image size in this forum. Is it possible if in talkimg there is a choice of image sizes to be displayed? and this is default setting like [img] code which is shown by default after uploading image

regards
918  Economy / Reputation / Re: ACCOUNT CONNECTED OR NOT on: June 30, 2023, 04:03:05 AM
I don't know why the newbies are so much interested on chasing after bounty for hunt because everyone of them needs money and think of arriving at their desired pace through the hunting after bounties, base on my experience, i believe having alts in not what the forum goes against but if the forum banned you and you creates another account then it's a call for ban evasion and am afraid if that's not what will end the situation we are discussing about  since those accounts were connected all together.

I accidentally found it. I think ban evansion are forum rules. For other cases like connected accounts I don't really care because the forums allow that
919  Other / Meta / Re: Can Bitcointalk Adopt the Web3 System? on: June 30, 2023, 03:57:35 AM
If by "dominate," you're referring to market capitalization, I think your argument might be a bit misleading. Firstly, as per the current data from CMC, Bitcoin's dominance is once again above 50%. Secondly, market capitalization doesn't really reflect the number of members in the crypto community. So I don't know how you came to the conclusion that 53% of the crypto community "was born from altcoins". Besides, it's not an either-or situation. Many people in the crypto world hold both Bitcoin and altcoins in their portfolios simultaneously.

This is the data displayed by the blockchir site

However, even though 53% of the crypto market is controlled by altcoins, this figure is too small because very many altcoins are only able to control 53% of the market, while bitcoin itself is able to control 48%. Of course the bitcoin community is the best but I don't like it when altcoins are seen as not contributing to the crypto world in general

But overall I like your statement, and I admit mine is weak

That's true. But, when it comes to a forum platform like bitcointalk.org, this fact doesn't really have much relevance. Sure, you might see some buying and selling happening on the forum, but it's not the main thing people are here for.

Yes I agree with you again. Indeed bitcointalk is not compatible with the web3 system because it is not a marketplace. But maybe bitcointalk needs to innovate a bit, either using web3 or some other innovation
920  Economy / Economics / A small summary of Cypherpunk on: June 30, 2023, 03:41:22 AM
Cypherpunk is an activity, movement, or concept that began to be widely discussed in 1980/1990. This group emphasizes social and political change through cryptography. The basic idea behind cypherpunk is privacy, transaction anonymity and reputation. Source

These Cypherpunk groups aren't just regular people, some of them are experts. they do understand ciphers and capable of writing software. One of the highlights is, the concept of cryptography in 1970 was first developed in secret by the military and spy agencies, until in 1980 this document was leaked to the public so that many people were talking about it. The RSA algorithm was first introduced to the public in 1983 by Ron Rivest , Adi Shamir dan Leonard Adleman - Source

This is a small summary of an article. I don't know cypherpunk yet and I'm having a hard time understanding it. Maybe the discussion will make me quickly understand the concept of cypherpunk (in my opinion this is the basis for the formation of bitcoin)
