9001  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Want to buy clean energy for mining? on: August 07, 2021, 02:19:56 PM
That address made me curious, so the first result in google is a reddit topic

+25 megawatt/ year solar farm
Yeah, just add more confusion to it, but then he adds another line:
Quote
Correction*** it's a 25 MW solar farm and produces? 175,000,000 kWh per year

It's late, it's Friday, there are a lot of zeros there but I think even fresh I would have no idea how a 25MW solar facility could generate 175 GWh a year. And yeah, somebody who produces 175 GWh year won't be making these mistakes.

the array buysolar and i run is 100kwatt array per hour in full sun

or 5x100= 500kwatts a day. we average 5 full hours of sun a day.

it is around 500 panels 220 watts each on an acre

so 175,000,000/365 =  350,000 kwatts a day

so 70,000 x the size of our array , okay make it that it is 440 watt panels that is 35,000 x the size of our one acre array

I do not think he has a 35000 acre array.

He could be an investor and not know his numbers well.

I do not know of any array using 35,000 acres anywhere in the world.

that would be 141 sq kilometers.

or 54 sq miles
9002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen ASIC ETH miner in future? on: August 07, 2021, 02:08:06 PM
If you can get one quickly from a good seller. It may be good for you.

Innosilicon has some with extra ram 🐏.

Like 6 or 7 gb.

https://www.innosilicon.com/html/a10pro-miner/index.html

I also know bitmain has a beast if you can get it.

Be very careful buying one.
9003  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: With $20k to spare on a rig @ $0.12/kWh...how much could I earn a day? on: August 07, 2021, 01:05:15 PM
[...]
Since you are the wisest you are, I think you can help me solve a dilemma ... The idea of using ASIC Avalon seems really reasonable, but I also figured out another option, since after a year of using these installations, the issue of energy efficiency becomes an edge. Let's say my electricity price is only $ 0.062 and the highlight is that this is a fixed price, regardless of consumption. Still, the $ 620 monthly electricity bill still seems daunting to me.

What if for this amount buy 3 Avalon and 1 solar station for 10 k-watts? The cost of 1 station is $ 5900, which is equivalent to the cost of the discussed Asic Miner, and the electricity consumption is within 10 k-watts, but on the other hand, the production is only $ 14 per day less than if you bought 4 Asics.

[1] 4 Asics / 360th = Rev. $ 4000/Month - Cost $624 [14000W] = $3,400
[2] 3 Asics / 270th = Profit $ $2,569/Month + Cost $468 [Solar station 10500W] = $3,038

Both in the first and in the second case, the initial amount of costs is identical, but literally after 8 months or less, the cost of mining will tend to zero, (against the background of increasing complexity, etc). Anyway, I hope I hear a couple of thoughts from you ...

well a 10k solar install is at best 7 x 10 = 70 kwatts. of power a day.

that is in a desert on the equator.

as the early and late sun lower the power.

an avalon burns 3.4 x 24 = 81.6 or 81 kwatts.

so your 10k watt install will not quite run 1 of the three units.

this assumes a perfect location for solar.

I am in NJ,USA we have a 100k install on 1+ acre it makes 5-5.5 hours a day due to morning and evening being weaker light and of course cloudy and rainy days.

so it makes about 500-550 kwatts of power a day.

It runs a home an office and 1 s19 pro 2 s17 pro 1 gpu rig.

so do the math with 2x 10 k install for the solar. it would come close to running 2x avalon.
9004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining profits... What am I missing? on: August 07, 2021, 12:54:42 PM
you are missing the correct section to ask this.

that is an altcoin miner

question needs to be asked in altcoins

i asked the mod to move it.

you can get one quickly for under 30k it may work out.

or not.

it may come late
it may break
price may drop 75%

or you may make a profit.
9005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is BTC still top1 on the cryptomarket? on: August 07, 2021, 11:24:41 AM
Does BTC act like gold in the fiat market?  Huh
I don’t understand why this currency is still mainly on the cryptomarket. If we take the top 2 ETH, then this token has a huge technological potential with its ICO, NFT, DEFI also has multiple cross-chains that expand the ETH ecosystem.
What keeps BTC so high? If we speak openly, then BTC has no role in itself, it's just a dummy compared to other technologies on the other crypto

P.S. This is my opinion I just want to know

Eth is garbage high risk for 1 reason

Mr V = Eth

If Mr V is slain Eth crashes
if Mr V is grabbed by a country and locked up eth crashes

The risk of having a 1 man boss makes eth pretty much garbage due to the extreme risk of all eggs in his basket.

Also if he switches to POS eth crashes as it becomes purely a speculative item based on the life of 1 person.

BTW the above are facts not opinions.

Now if Mr V stays clear of death and the Law while delaying POS for years to come Eth will do fine.

This is the bet you make if you hold ETH
9006  Economy / Goods / Re: Physical artwork from coins «Bitcoin Tower» on: August 07, 2021, 11:19:29 AM

Was nice artwork. What would have been your price if you sold it?

Let's play pretend and list it with a reserve minimum.  Would it be 0.005 minimum plus shipping?

I WOULD BE WILLING TO BUY IT AT A REASONABLE PRICE.

I would then sell it to the winner at the price he won it for.

SO THE WINNER WOULD NOT BE fucked.

I would only ask that the seller gets forgiven for the fuckup.

That's how nice the art is.

It would strip the bad karma away as that piece of art deserves to be freed from the karma cast on it.

I would use my philipma1957  main account.

source:
https://5ksana.art/bitcoinart/physical-artwork-from-coins-bitcoin-tower/

When I asked the OP (through PM after the auction ended) about what the reserved price was (that they had in mind and forgot to mention), I was told a totally different value (different from the 1 BTC mentioned in the above link) Huh

Since that info was provided to me through PM (and never officially announced here), I do not want to publicly mention it here (since I respect their decision/privacy).

Not quite sure why all this secretiveness with the reserved value (and that they selectively answering & avoiding questions here), but hey... I assume that they prolly have their reasons.

BTW, seems like they also forgot to mention the reserved price in their tweets (in twitter where the auction supposedly took place), but that's another story....  Roll Eyes

source:
https://twitter.com/5Ksana/status/1412770885560328194

Yeah it is nice but not that nice. Thank you for info.

@ artist if you are expecting a large amount of money/coin for an item don't forget reserve.

Now it is a bad karma item you have created from a very pretty piece of work.

Sad so sad.
9007  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 07, 2021, 02:36:37 AM
Though I don't hold any BTC, it's good to see it pumping. The leveraged shorters were getting so annoying.

I want BTC to range $25,000-$45,000 multiple times, hard and fast, to teach stupid gamblers some manners.
¬snip¬

Just had a look at your post; I'm sorry I couldn't get back to you earlier.

Who learns a lesson if it powers through 25-45k seemingly not to look back?

IMHO, that won't be the case. And even if it is:

What does one have to gain with a ZERO allocation to this kind of asset?

I've made more than I had imagined out of this thing; I won't even mind if it goes straight to 6-digits. Though I must admit that I'll be quite surprised if it happens. I'll be happy for you guys but at the same time, I'll be pissed to see Michael Saylor making a success out of it.

I'm sure you guys are going to hate me as of now, but honestly, being bull at this time makes zero sense. Binance's operations are all suspicious, Tethers circulation has blasted this year, Congress and White House are after the industry, Michael Saylor hands are yet to be tested with a bear market (which should happen below $20k or so), etc.

At this stage, I wish y'all good luck. If it continues to go up, I'll be quite happy for y'all.

I know you have done quite well in your speculation.  I salute you there... I do not have the nerves to play those games.

Thanks! Smiley

If it shot to 123,456.78

I would cash out 10% of my holdings.

Can't complain about SimpleMining.

Everything works just perfectly.

Well from my viewpoint I am about ready to scream .  He forced us to black screen night background and I am yet to see the day background version installed.

He promised he would maybe It has been done but since the screen is hard as fuck for me to read I can not find a switch to day background.

I am fairly fucking annoyed.

Another increase in difficulty is almost certain, probably in the range of 5.xx%.

BTC price currently is: $42943 (pretty good recovery).

Numbers are nice.
price has risen along with the diff.

so 6% and 5% jumps are  11.3%  price was as low as 29k so 42k more than makes up for the jump jump that is unfolding.

when price was 63k in april diff was 23.3

price is 42k and diff may become 15.4 in 7 days

so 23.3/15.4 = that is a factor of 1.51  ie today you would earn 1.51 x what you earned in april

so 1.51 x 42 = 63.4k

So we are close to exactly equal to the same daily earnings we were in april when price was 63k

Not a bad mining year so far.

It is all bullshit.  It is the perfect way to incentivize solar over coal and oil.

Here is a map of West Virginia and Kentucky look at the lighter spots in the box I drew.  They are all strip mine scars.

Miles and miles and miles and miles of crushed out hills.

If the USA simply require solar to replace the stripped mountain and the coal companies simply used solar to mine btc problem solved.

Same with China.  you can see the bare spots all over their country too. So coal was allowed to strip mountains bare.  Well now the government could simply tell them build solar mine coins and we will defray the install cost.

Everyone in the world using coal power in any way is wrong.  So along comes an industry that allow for the problem to be fixed. And a fucking moron criminal like musk refuses to acknowledge the solution for the problem exists.  Worse he make solar barrettes and does not illustrate the opportunity btc allows the usa to exist coal mining cleanly.  It is a fucking joke.

I will do this for 10 bucks I will eat the  tx fees. When I pay out. (unless they go stupidly high in the time it takes to do it.)

Seller = specdro
buyer = chillfactr

I need a refund address from the buyer.

I need a payment address from the seller.

Once I have them I will give an escrow address.

I will take BTC or LTC fees are low right now.

I hold all funds.

Ie 325 for item 10 for escrow ? for shipping.

when coins clear  from the buyer I tell  the seller to ship.

at the moment I need

addresses from buyer and seller

and let me know if you guys are using BTC or LTC
let me know the shipping cost.

So assume funds are sent I okay seller to ship.

assume gear is shipped seller give me and buyer tracking

buyer gets gear has 1 day to complain  that there is an issue. after than buyer is on his own.

We can do this on the thread to cut down pms.

Except for shipping address and tracking.

So what coin
what are the addresses for buyer and seller.

I will then issue payment address.

Escrow Address will be a coinbase address so if coinbase goes fully bust I will make every to fix issue but ultimately coinbase would be responsible.

To specdro read my trust I have done this a lot. With very good success.

9015  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: With $20k to spare on a rig @ $0.12/kWh...how much could I earn a day? on: August 05, 2021, 03:36:03 PM
...or a month.

Excluding labor for setup.

Your question does not belong in the BTC mining question area if you want the rig that earns the most  per watt and the most per dollar the answer is not any BTC rig.

Since you asked it here in BTC

the BTC answer is what is in stock

Avalon 1246 87th at 5679 and 4 at 22716 usd do 348 th use say 14000 watts an hour

s19 pro 110th at 11442  so 2 at 22884 usd  do  220 th. uses say 6500 watts an hour

I would argue get the Avalon if you have cheap power it is better deal.

A lot more hash 348 vs 220

and more power 336 kwatts a day vs 156   so 180 more k-watts or

 $33.60 vs  $15.60 a day at 10 cent
 $16.80 vs. $ 7.60 a day at 5 cent power.

the earnings today are

348 th = 121 pre power
220 th =   76 pre power

9016  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will not be able to stay above $40k for 10 consecutive days ever again on: August 05, 2021, 03:22:18 PM
Bitcoin is always struggling because of some greedy investors, and for sure it will never break 40k again if such activity will keep happening every time bitcoin were gradually gaining strength to increase. In fact there's no bad news when it comes to it after the sudden increased in the market. So what do you guys thinking why this is happening?.because seems this situation isn't a correction anymore. Lol

Bitcoin is whaling it is smoking hot for anyone that is mining it right now.

here is the math

all time  high diff = 25.04 price at this 2 week time  May 13-May 29 was 33-50

current diff = 14.45 price at this 2 week time is 38-41

to understand this above

25.04/14.45 = 1.73

so for every coin earned back in may you now earn 1.73

so pick the low price for now of 38k x 1.73 = 65.74 k

what was the price during peak diff 33-50. so you are better off now even if you look at peak number of 50k during the May 13-May 29

Miners are whaling smoking hot.

go back more to April 14 coins were 63.39k

diff was 23.13

so today 23.13/14.45 = a factor of 1.60. plug in current price this jump of 39,288 and

39,288 x 1.60 = 62,887

so a miner right now is under 1 % off  the  same daily profit spot of April 14 when coins were 63.39k

62.887/63.39 = 99.2%

So it is not bear at all for miners..

for traders that purchased above 50k its is almost bear

for traders that purchased above 63k it is close to bear

But you can't leave out hodl they do not care at all.

so this is not a bear.

In order for it to be bear we need to get up and over 70k we diff to climb back to 25.05T

we then need the crash in price and diff need to be stable or growing

look at dec 2017 20k price and diff was 1.93

and in oct 2018 7k  price and diff was 7.32 t

April 2021 64k price with  diff of 25.04 t
Aug 2021  39k price diff of 14.44 t

is no where close to bear.

Good. I,am back on the road for a few days.

My bro in law had a medical event.

He was saved from death by an alert neighbor.

He is in hospital in New York. So I have my wife up here manning the fort while I shuttle back and forth between NY and NJ.

I do not  business  with this account only the main one. I think I will be back in NJ tommorrow  night.

Sorry to hear that. Take care and stay safe.

Thanks.

I will be running around for next 2 weeks.

The good news is he crashed kidneys were at 7% when he got to emergency room.
2 dialysis treatments and they are at 41% normal for 70 year old is 60%
They look like they will get back to normal with out dialysis.

He lost some motor skills, walking working a remote control.
He has some lost mental capacity he does not know who the president is or that it is 2021.

But he was watching cbs tv a rugby match and he know they were playing rugby.
He will need rehab.

So I will not be able to be as devoted to Bitcointalk as I usually am.

Real life can be a bitch, but at least he has hope and has shown god signs of recovery.

Going to lock thread. When shit gets normal I will contact you.

I gave you  a trust using my Philipma1957 cellphone account.

I would pay extra $ 100-150 more and buy a new ATX power supply unit Corsair for 1200 watts or 2 Corsairs for 750 watts.
I would buy a server block only if I need a lot of 6-pin or 8-pin connectors and ATX blocks do not have enough of them.
You should not save money when buying power supplies, the losses can be much greater.
$100-150 extra for Corsair ? Huh it's more like $300
