9021  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-10-17] Bernanke Thinks Bitcoin Will Fail (But He Likes Blockchain) on: October 17, 2017, 01:46:14 AM
Bernanke. Another banker who clearly did not take the time to read and study the inner workings of bitcoin. To say that you think bitcoin will fail but you like blockchain shows that the system you want is not something new and as revolutionary.

He hyped Ripple in the article. A centralized and closed system that does not add any good for the people.

“Bitcoin is an attempt to replace fiat currency and evade regulation and government intervention. I don’t think that’s going to be a success,” Bernanke said on Monday afternoon in Toronto.

While addressing a conference hosted by the blockchain firm Ripple, Bernanke described bitcoin as a “mostly speculative venture” that “hasn’t shown itself to be a real transactional currency.”

9022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: October 17, 2017, 01:30:56 AM
These new accounts hyping Aeon in the thread might mean two things. That they are farmed accounts trying to increase their activity in the forum or they are the people who bought at 40k satoshis and above and are now presently bagholding.

Welcome to Aeon.
9023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on SUMOKOIN EVX TKR TZC, BIS BLAS ELIX NEBLI ENGIMA LRC VEN ICON NEBL on: October 16, 2017, 02:37:17 AM
Sumokoin is a Monero fork but does not have the same minds behind it. If their developers think success can easily be copied by forking a coin, then they will learn they have not created anything but a pump and dump coin.

Or maybe that was the real purpose.
9024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: anyone else have ICO fatigue on: October 16, 2017, 02:24:08 AM
@MinerLeague. I have the same sentiment. But I reckon it is because the market for ICO tokens is not booming. But if the bulls come back and bring us 10x returns again, the sentiment will change, not only for me but for eveyone including you.
9025  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-15] Bitcoin Price Boom Built on Sound Fundamentals, Observers Tell Nays on: October 16, 2017, 01:44:32 AM
I disagree. Speculation and the increase in demand as an investment is the main catalyst for bitcoin's price boom. It has always been this way. But do doubt its potetntial? No. I reckon we will see a time when bitcoin's fundamnetals will justify its price.
9026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: October 15, 2017, 02:37:41 AM
I speculate the Bittrex pumper is also Monero's famous man of the high castle as someone here in the forum called him. I reckon it was Spoetnik, and he was alluding to the infamous Reptilia.
9027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 216: Ferguson vs Lee Info and Prediction Thread on: October 15, 2017, 02:22:52 AM
There were articles about Conor's tweet that his next fight might be versus Tony Ferguson. The tweet was a caricature of Conor as Tony Montana of the movie Scar Face with the caption Tony.

I reckon that is all the clue we need, but when will it be?
9028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 216: Ferguson vs Lee Info and Prediction Thread on: October 14, 2017, 01:46:32 AM
@jaytiesto. I want Conor vs Tony Ferguson. Fighting Nate would be entertaining but that will not reinforce Conor's position as the lightweight champion.

Also who is the best of the 3 for you, Nate, Tony or Khabib?
9029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2017-10-07: update to 0.9.14.0] on: October 14, 2017, 01:36:25 AM
Does anyone still have problems withdrawing from HitBTC? I still have one Aeons over there that I did not withdraw during the upgrade. I do not mind waiting for 24 hours as along as the coins arrive in my wallet.
9030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The next x100 on: October 14, 2017, 01:28:08 AM
Check the cryptocoins outside of the top 100. Then check which ones that have not risen together with the rest during the bull run of March to June. Filter the ICOs and proof of stake coins and stay with mineable coins only.

Your answer might be in that filtered list.
9031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Missing out on things on: October 14, 2017, 01:21:20 AM
On 2018, scam warnings will be of the most importance. I speculate that is going to be the year the SEC and all the other regulators start moving against ICOs. They will start with the scams and move their way up to tokens classified as securities.
9032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When can we expect to see Bitcoin Gold in our wallets? on: October 14, 2017, 01:15:12 AM
I read an article that the development team of bitcoin gold will not create and release a wallet on October 25. It might take a few months before they decide to make one. So better hold on to those private keys.
9033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Jibrel Network | Traditional financial assets on-chain [Pre-sale Open] on: October 13, 2017, 01:41:17 AM
@jibrelnetwork. I want to ask what is your team's forecast for the market until the end of 2017? It has taken a turn from the altcoins peaks of June, transferring that value to the all time high of bitcoin. When would you say or speculate the value to transfer back to altcoins?

I reckon your team also studies the market as a more positive market would be a better time to list Jibrel.
9034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: October 13, 2017, 01:24:50 AM
Chart update. Aeon is still good as long as the price is in between those 2 lines. If the price goes up the upper line it is overbought, if below that it is oversold.

I see that there are some Aeon holders who are expecting much more than this present price increase. Do not be discouraged, there is more to come but it will take longer. Aeon is not a pump and dump coin.

9035  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-10-13] PBoC Director Calls for Centralized State Cryptocurrency on: October 13, 2017, 01:06:33 AM
How silly. Why then does it have to be a cryptocurrency if it is centralized? They could start a Chinese Paypal, owned by the government, and use the banks as gateways to access that network.

I reckon the PBOC really does not know anything about bitcoin and cryptocoins at all.

At a meeting hosted by the International Telecommunication Union this week, Yao Qian, the Director of the Digital Currency Research Institute under the People's Bank of China, reportedly boasted about the potential of a state-owned digital currency, while suggesting that there is an inherent lack of value anchoring public cryptocurrencies like bitcoin.

According to a report by Yicai, Qian also framed a state-issued digital currency as a way to stabilize domestic fiat currency, while better securing country's financial status.

Although the publication made clear Yao's comments reflected his own opinions, the remarks nonetheless reveal how the country may choose to direct the future development of digital currency.

9036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is this bitcoin high making your poorer? on: October 13, 2017, 12:58:29 AM
It is making you poorer if you are bagholding. But I reckon many altcoin holders have already finished selling most of their coins and are now holding bitcoins. Observe how all the selling started from their peaks 4 or 5 months ago, depending on the coin.

I speculate all that value made in bitcoin will transfer once again back to altcoins, hopefully by December.

9037  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-12] Jamie Dimon: “I’m Not Going to Talk About Bitcoin Anymore” on: October 13, 2017, 12:39:58 AM
Of course, because the price is making an all time high and that has made him shut his mouth hahaha. But if you ask me, I like him to keep talking about it. It is free promotion and publicity. The more those bank executives talk badly about bitcoin, the more the people become curious about it.
9038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Russian Central Bank To Ban Websites Offering Crypto-currencies on: October 12, 2017, 01:26:26 AM
Will this start an inflow of Russian speaking bitcoiners and cryptcoin traders to do over the counter trading here in the forum? I reckon it will happen soon. We should be ready to help and accommodate them.

Maybe I should start an escrow service?
9039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hidden Gems on: October 12, 2017, 01:20:34 AM
Civic - possible future universal authentication, voting, etc.
Golem - virtual super computer
Ark - crypt bank cards, crypto bridges, crazy fast blocks, and supposedly InterPlanetary DataBase (IPDB)

Those are not gems. They are overbudgeted ICOs with overissued no. of tokens for the holders to dump on the community. If you want real gems look for the good cryptcoins that the real and proven developers are working on. Not the ICOs where the developers can make the most money.
9040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 216: Ferguson vs Lee Info and Prediction Thread on: October 12, 2017, 01:03:23 AM
From reading all your comments, I reckon many of you are now starting to doubt Conor's ability in fighting after his embarrassing debut in boxing.

Tony Ferguson will be knocked out if he fights Conor. Conor is faster and a very strong puncher, while Tony is easily hit when he charges. This clearly plays well in Conor's counter attacks.
