It was smooth who adviced Bittrex to require more confirmations to make sure that all your transactions will be safe. He still does not know what caused the network instability in the last version and I reckon it might happen again in this version. It is better to be safe than lose your Aeons.

@TrumpD. What is your outlook on Fernando Alonso's odds to finish in at least 6th place in Suzuka, and also for Stoffel Vandoorne to finish in the top 10?

This is Honda's home race, so they might try extra hard to make their team and their drivers look good for their fans.

Personally don't think that either of these two will make some different then the whole this season.
If rain falls then I would say that one of them will be in top 10.

But the Honda engines are showing that some progress is happening. Have you seen the last 2 races? Fernando Alonso got unlucky but Stoffel Vandoorne is doing very well. Maybe we might see both of them finish with championship points on Sunday.
9063  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-05] Japan On Track to Become Bitcoin Market Leader on: October 06, 2017, 02:02:30 AM
Japan is very clever, and china's ban management makes japan even stronger. I expect japan to take better steps in the coming days. The chinese government should repeal bans as soon as possible.

That would depend on how the Japanese government controls bitcoin's expanding role in money laundering and other forms of criminal activity. China may prove that taking a cautious approach is the best way.

@Hydrogen. Kevin Lee will lose by submission. Look at the stats, Tony has 81% in takedown defense  and Kevin Lee has a tendency of making desperate takedown attempts when he sees his original game plan is not working. Tony could then submit him by means of the darce.

9066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shall I be a hodler or day trader? Give me some advice! on: October 05, 2017, 12:59:09 AM
@misa999. Why ask the people in the forum who we ourselves do not know how to trade. But let me share you my secret on how to know if you are a day trader or a longterm investor. First your objective is to day trade and to make a quick profit. Then if the trade went wrong and has become a losing trade, it is then that you decide to become a longterm investor.

I reckon that there is a lot of longterm investors today after the last crash.
9067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: October 05, 2017, 12:42:42 AM
@sammy007. I reckon Bithumb will not list a coin that has as low a market cap value as Aeon. All the cryptocoins listed there are among the top 20 and have the highest volumes across all the markets compared.

FUD? Yours Inc. was never a known social media platform for tipping. I might be wrong but it would be good to see their data on how much tipping happened from the first day they started bitcoin tipping until the last. Their social media platform also might not have enough bitcoiners, or enough people in the first place.
9069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does your ICO pass the smell test? on: October 04, 2017, 01:23:40 AM
Recently saw some posts about detecting "scam" ICOs-- but what about detecting just "bad ideas" for ICOs?
What's your smell test?

(1). Check the management team, check for people who have a history of previous successful ICOs.
(2). Read the white paper and consider-- why can't this just be done with a database? What's the true use value of the token? Why does it benefit from being decentralized? Is it truly decentralized?
(3). What is your smell test for ICOs?

1) Developers who have made previously successful ICOs only mean that they are good in marketing their product. It does not mean they are technically qualified in developing good cryptocoin protocols.

2) But we do not have enough technical knowledge to know if the whitepaper is good or not. Whitepapers have also become marketing tools to trick less knowledgeable people like us.

3) It is not we who decide what passes the smell test. If it passes your smell test but it does not with the SEC then you still made a bad investment.

Bittrex enabled wallet, to the moon!

I hope Aeon first rests and finds stability. We do not want this to become a cryptocoin that pumpers love to play with. I also hope it takes another 3 months before Aeon starts another price ascension. That will give us more time to buy hehehe.
9071  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: October 04, 2017, 12:36:21 AM
@nutsnax. I was thinking the same but the bids and the asks in HitBTC are too low to make arbitrage rewarding. The volume has also gone down to its normal 2 - 3 bitcoins per 24h on a good day.

@jwinterm. Marketing and millions, something Aeon does not have. But that does not matter. Monero has shown us that good hard work still pays.
9072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this considered insider trading and market manipulation? on: October 03, 2017, 01:37:36 AM
@Hyperme.sh. Yes they had an ICO that started May 18, 2018 and ended on June 18, 2017. The total value in ETH collected was $25 million according to their twitter.

https://twitter.com/monaco_card/status/876676789896069120?lang=en

Also look at how they are described in this page https://tokenmarket.net/blockchain/ethereum/assets/monaco/

Is that also misrepresentation of facts?

9073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is this considered insider trading and market manipulation? on: October 03, 2017, 01:13:18 AM
Why did Monaco release 2 press releases denoting that they will be issuing a Visa related card if they really did not have direct pending agreement with the credit card company?

I reckon that this is why the PBOC and now Korea and Russia are starting to ban ICOs. The Monaco team might either be irresponsible or they were manipulating the market.

A form of digital money known as Monaco gained as much as 695 percent in value since May 17, when its issuing company tweeted that it would offer a Visa Inc.-branded payment card.

Monaco didn’t have a deal with Visa.

Later that month, Monaco put out a press release describing the benefits of its Visa-branded card.

Again, no agreement with Visa.

Monaco is, however, working with a Visa-licensed issuer, Wirecard AG. As far as Visa goes, Monaco is being vetted through the credit-card issuer’s review process, according to spokeswoman Lea Cademenos.

Cademenos didn’t say how Monaco’s decision to promote two nonexistent relationships with Visa would affect the review process. Wirecard didn’t return requests for comment.

9074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TOP 5 COINS TO BUY WHEREAS THEY'RE LOW-PRICED? on: October 03, 2017, 12:42:52 AM
Aeon. It has an elite cryptocoin developer named smooth who is also one of the lead developers of Monero, the best anonymous coin. Smooth is also developing Aeon to be very light enough to make full nodes run on mobile devices. We are not there as of today but that is the longterm goal.

In the future you will see Aeon nodes for smartphones and maybe also in iot devices.
9075  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: October 03, 2017, 12:29:34 AM
The correction is here just as we expected. The people questioning Aeon's price ascension will now follow. They will use the same strategy of comparing it with Monero and they will ask why there is a need for another anonymous coin like Aeon.

Those people do not know anything about Aeon and the roadmap laid by smooth. They are there only to spread fud.
9076  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-10-02] A Closer Look at the Activity Involved With the Bitcoin Gold Fork on: October 02, 2017, 01:37:46 AM
Posting this news to make everyone aware that there will be another hardfork called Bitcoin Gold on October 25. It will implement a proof of work change to Equihash, the same algorithm that is used by Zcash and BTG can be mined by using your video cards.

Like Segwit2x, it will not have replay protection.

I do not know what to say about this but I reckon the civil war has begun. Keep your bitcoins safe.

There’s been a lot of quarreling happening in the bitcoin space between Core software supporters and Segwit2x proponents. Because Segwit2x developers and miners plan to raise the block size to 2MB, a group of Core supporters started a movement called “NO2x.” The NO2x group does whatever it can to persuade people to join their fight against Segwit2x, and a few cryptocurrency luminaries are also backing the movement. One member of the NO2x movement, Robert Kuhne, appears to be one of the leaders of the Bitcoin Gold team. Kuhne uses the handle “rbtkhn” in the Slack channel and answers a lot of questions asked by visitors and the crypto-media. Kuhne’s official Twitter page where he calls himself “[NO2x],” also advertises the website btcgpu.org directly under his name proudly displaying that he’s involved with the project.

Maintenance update release (0.9.13.0) and development update

Quote

Windows binaries have been added.
Quote
Windows binaries (md5 checksum)

aeond.exe (2c6a896c3f4fdf778d51a91c9768ca01)
simplewallet.exe (be00bfafad1f7bb2e2381df0db47b4d6)

Here are some comments from Arux about the new binaries:
Quote
win64 binaries 0.9.13.0:
sync OK (no need to sync from scratch, 0.9.12.0 blockchain is compatible), wallet OK (no need to rescan a 0.9.12.0 wallet), transfer OK.

Thank you. This will make life easier for us. Compiling sources in Windows is harder than doing it in Linux because more errors appear and there are more incompatibilities.

I also want to ask, if Aeon's volume stays this high, will there be a chance that it will be back trading in Poloniex?
9078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: October 02, 2017, 01:16:17 AM

A Cup and handle formation is coming. I reckon some traders will start selling some Aeon soon to take some profit. Be careful, some people will start making FUD when that correction comes. Do not believe them. A correction is a natural occurrence in ascending markets.

whatever technical analysis, we are interested in the substance of aeon.

You are? But where were you before the pump? I did not see you anywhere.

Your account also appears to be behaving like a farmed account just by looking at the activity and no. of posts you have. I helped rizlarolla in finding farmed accounts in bitcointalk, so I know what a farmed account looks like. If you really are, please do not spam this thread. Thank you.

Where can I bet on Sebastian to finish in the top 6? Cloudbet used to have it and the one at Bitsport makes you bet on the reverse. I reckon Sebastian can finish 4th or 5th in this race.
9080  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-29] IMF chief tells central bankers: Ignore Bitcoin at your peril on: October 01, 2017, 02:11:24 AM
I fear that their only recourse is to keep banning bitcoin and altcoins for as long as they can. They cannot fully adopt them now because that would cause too much disruption in their own system.

I reckon that their biggest issue with cryptocoins is their lack of control over them. We would not be having this
discussion if the banks control the supply, the flow and the development of all cryptocoins.

But if banks control the flow of cash on the bitcoin ecosystem then it will not be decentralized at all. They just can't ignore bitcoin for now because its keeps growing everyday. That's why we see attacks from bankers Dimon bashing all calling bitcoin a fraud.

But can they keep crypto's away? No. We all know that its unstoppable, so its either they join the party, or really try to ban it at every way they can. But people loves them and no matter what actions they do it will still flourish. And the more they try to shoot it down, the more people are going into system. They just have to accept this hard fact.

Who said that banks wanted decentralization? What they want is to keep the banking system in their control forever. It is they who built it and it will be they who wants to control it. But bitcoin is trying to change that.

Cryptocoins are unstoppable? Maybe, but there is no reason to think that this is true right now. But we will see it soon enough.
