Basing Venezuelan salaries on the Petro will stabilize people's buying power; also, there will be stability in product sales. Speculation has ended, which helps all Venezuelans without distinction! Oh my God your president is NUTS! The Petro has a value of ZERO! He apparently also doesn't realize that it can be traded on exchanges other than those controlled by the state. There's no way of artificially maintaining its price. The only thing it has over the bolivar is that it can't be printed into worthlessness. He still never told anybody that you need to also purchase XEM in order to actually move PTR. Nor does it say this anywhere on the website or the white paper. https://www.telesurtv.net/english/news/Venezuela-Announces-Monetary-Reforms-as-Petro-Buoys-Economy-20180322-0022.htmlWith over US$5 billion sold during the presale, the president also thanked Russian firm NemThere's no record of any number of presales coming close to $5 billion on the blockchain, its closer to somewhere between $200k and $300k. Plus there's 2 things wrong with that sentence: NEM isn't Russian, nor is it a "firm." Though I can't say with 100% certainty, this is shaping up to be the biggest ICO scam of all-time, by far!

Merit is not popular among the peoples and it need to be eliminated. i believe it will change in near future.
Merit is not here to win a popularity contest not a beauty contest. It is actually a soft approach to the spam problem. While a tougher approach would have been much easier to implement (i.e. eliminate signatures), the merit system gives people a decent chance here if they bare any interesting in the forum itself, without moving into the drastical terrain. It does not need to be eliminated at all (perhaps even enhanced it terms of lower rank requirements). The last phrase of your post would read better missing a "t" ("i believe i t will change in near future")... Actually its " I believe I will change in the near future." But the guy misspelled the word Merit when it is written next to every single post on the forum. He doesn't stand a chance.

Dude, that's an excellent first post. So good in fact, I sent you +1 sM. I'd say you're on way to becoming a pillar in this space. Keep up the good work, bud. And, see my sig if you're seeking a sound investment unless, that it, you're one of them Investardz (pl. & sg.; formerly Investard[ .s .]), then nevermind. Hey show some respect. You're talking to a doctor. He's the original Dr. Santo, thus the "1" at the end of his name.

I think this project is worth investing in since it is endorsed by this forum, but no much details about the token sale update in the website and no hint also about softcap if reached or not.
Dude alludes to conducting extensive research in hunting down a soft cap, yet never once stumbled upon HoweyCoins being a sham. Fuckin amazing! This might be my favorite thread of all-time.

Is another Bolivarian Kamikaze released to the forums.
![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I might start calling newb shills "kamikazes" from now on, its definitely a proper application of the word. I´ll take it that you don't know what a kamikaze is. Anyway, he who laughs last, laughs best. I'll take it you don't know what a newb shill is. Its somebody with little experience who flings themselves into battle to be killed, often achieving very limited or no success. This newb just killed their credibility on the forum, as you just killed yours.

I'm actually more interested in the feedback from mr faketoshi a.k.a Craig Wright.
Do you honestly think he has ever thanked or acknowledged the positive actions of one single person other than himself in the entirety of his life? You could pull the monstrous phallus of a rapist out of his rear end and hand him all of satoshi's keys and he'd still donkey punch you. Stunning, poetic imagery. Also spot on. The man is a fucking sociopath and won't stop until people call him God. His apology/non-apology for not being Satoshi was brilliant. I believed that I could do this. I believed that I could put the years of anonymity and hiding behind me. But, as the events of this week unfolded and I prepared to publish the proof of access to the earliest keys, I broke. I do not have the courage. I cannot.
When the rumors began, my qualifications and character were attacked. When those allegations were proven false, new allegations have already begun. I know now that I am not strong enough for this.
I know that this weakness will cause great damage to those that have supported me, and particularly to Jon Matonis and Gavin Andresen. I can only hope that their honour and credibility is not irreparably tainted by my actions. They were not deceived, but I know that the world will never believe that now. I can only say I’m sorry. What a right cunt. https://futurism.com/australian-entrepreneur-craig-wright-claims-bitcoin-creator-satoshi-nakamoto/

It means that in relative measure we witness Bitcoin growth and secondly there is no substantial correlation between Bitcoin and altcoins movement.
Altcoin movement is absolutely dictated by bitcoin movement. When BTC moves up, alts move up. When BTC moves down, alts move down. This is because BTC is the least risky of all coins. A decreasing BTC dominance means crypto investor appetite for risk is increasing. An increasing BTC dominance means investor appetite for risk is decreasing.

I think i idolize this man, cant wait to read more on him when i can get to it, so stoked you covered him

One of his strengths is "making money out of nothing," sounds like a bitcoiner if I ever heard one.

The HoweyCoins thread is still attracting a lot of solid gold. This project is awesome it has been voted as one of the most prospected project on the cryptocurrency market right now and especially on the Tên dự án that is presently going, I am sure this will be a success and hope soon I can join the Tên dự án before it will be over! Congratulations to the hardworking development team
"the Tên dự án" means "the project name" in Vietnamese, it was obviously supposed to be (in brackets) and changed to match the ICO. Here's another use of it, for something called "phenomenal network": This project is awesome it has been voted as one of the most prospected project on the cryptocurrency market right now and especially on the AD that is presently going, I am sure this will be a success and hope soon I can join the AD before it will be over! Congratulations to the hardworking development team
Then again on something called "PRiVCY": This project is awesome it has been voted as one of the most prospected project on the cryptocurrency market right now and especially on the AD that is presently going, I am sure this will be a success and hope soon I can join the AD before it will be over! Congratulations to the hardworking development team of PRiVCY!
Note the first guy is Vietnamese and the 3rd guy is Russian, perhaps they're getting it from a website they both visit. But doing a copy-and-paste comment for a fictional ICO... I'm simply astounded.

Seriously? This Coin still alive? There are still many people in my country who promote this coin on facebook or in real life.
i guess people that never sold during the huge dip still hope there will be a miracle.....sorry for them....but you never know I know. I'm telling you for sure. There will be no miracle. The coin produced nothing. It is a collapsed Ponzi scheme. What's somebody gonna do? Pick the Ponzi scheme back up, dust if off and raise it from the dead? It's still a Ponzi scheme. A revamped pile of horseshit is still a pile of horseshit.

I like it but I'm not spending any buying shit from other dimensions without knowing how the shipping works. I would think that once fully-capable quantum computers are a real thing it might put BTC's security at risk, meaning we'd have to develop a quantum-proof coin (I remember seeing the term "quantum resistant" thrown around by some other coins but it sounds like utter horseshit).

I am in the midst of the patent process for said formula but judging by the majority of commenters I'm sure its completely safe here. You're not going to be impressed. But the formula is this:
(Merit + 1) / Posts x Activity = Worthiness Score
I've found it doesn't work for certain categories of posters, but the average is about 100. I think I'll do a Meta thread about it eventually.
A patent on the worthiness score? I initially couldn't figure out wtf you were doing a +1 for but I'm realizing now it's probably to stop those with 0 merit from screwing up the formula?? yep. the patent is necessary because I'm building an ICO based around it. And if you believe that I have some HoweyCoins to sell you! Yes you are correct about the +1. And if you take into consideration the flood of new accounts that are made here every day then the average is closer to 1 than 100. Regardless, you're still #2. But to show you that its value isn't absolute about anything, Satoshi is #5 and Hal Finney is #18!

Crypto is officially dead.....
I told everyone when it was first conceived, government/SEC backed Security Tokens will be the nail in the coffin.... Nail, meet coffin.
This is a ploy is for the government to take control from small projects and put it into the control of Wall Street billionaires.
The SEC is damning ICO's while pushing the security token concept.
The government, when they made this 'warning' is essentially calling everyone stupid.
You do realize there's no actual HoweyCoin, right? I wouldn't say they're "pushing" the concept. They're pretty much shitting on all ICOs. Let's face it: most ICOs are just money grabs and deserve to be shat upon. The government is doing is duty by performing a public service, just using a rare display of high-minded humor, which seems to be going over at least 50% of everybody's heads. That's why its fascinatingly funny to people like me. Clearly by my statement I know it's not real. But what I also know is that this is a paid advertisement by the SEC. Clearly you don't understand the full picture, because nobody paid anybody for this "advertisement." They are bashing ICO's while pushing Security Tokens, essentially it's the government and Wall Street taking control over the crypto market. Exactly the opposite of the intended use for crypto.
How do you infer this as "pushing Security Tokens"?

Let's not forget dude that the NSA also developed SHA technology. This is from an interesting paper on SHA. The Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA) was developed by the NIST in association with the NSA and first published in May 1993 as the Secure Hash Standard. The first revision to this algorithm was published in 1995 due to a unpublished flaw found, and was called SHA-1. The first version, later dubbed SHA-0, was withdrawn by the NSA. The SHA hash function is similar to the MD4 hash function, but adds some complexity to the algorithm and the block size used was changed. SHA was originally intended as part of the Digital Signature Standard (DSS), a scheme used for signing data and needed a hash function to do so.If the original SHA had flaws, its theoretically possible SHA-256 also has flaws, though its highly unlikely since none of the world's best cryptographers have yet identified them.

I think the Virtual Currency Businesses Act from 2017 really hampered any forward looking crypto advancements in Hawaii, but I'd really have liked being able to use a Hawaiian crypto when I visit the islands.
For those living there, My question is how is crypto accessibility and function in the state of Hawaii.
Its pretty hampered. My Coinbase account was shut down 1 or 2 years ago because of Hawaii's stupid legislation saying that exchanges operating there had to have an equal amount of cash on reserve as they did cryptocurrency. There are two semi-functional bitcoin ATMs. One is in a vape shop I think. But nobody accepts bitcoin for anything, besides a couple of hotels that use BitPay (on Kauai and the Big Island). What's weird is Google Trends says more searches for bitcoin come from Hawaii than any other state. People there really like to gamble, so I think they are mostly interested in it as an investment opportunity.

BTW, you have some interesting stats for your profile. I came up with a simple formula to help me decide the likely worthiness of somebody's posts, and out of 30+ forum members I generated it for, your profile is #2, second only to Theymos.
Interesting. The "simple formula" part makes me a little nervous, but I guess since the results appear accurate to me (without really knowing anything about who is being compared, the formula, or how the stats are derived)... it must still be right! I do at least have to ask how you are getting your stats? and will you reveal the formula?? PM works if you do not want to hand this information to the bad posters! ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I am in the midst of the patent process for said formula but judging by the majority of commenters I'm sure its completely safe here. IMO, the majority posting are not intending to invest in any coin, I'd guess these posts are just an effort to fill quotas for existing paid signature campaigns, or maybe they think they are part of some sort of howeycoin bounty that requires posting about the project
Yeah I agree with you, most of the generic shitposts here are exactly what you described. BTW, you have some interesting stats for your profile.
