I am in the midst of the patent process for said formula but judging by the majority of commenters I'm sure its completely safe here. You're not going to be impressed. But the formula is this:

(Merit + 1) / Posts x Activity = Worthiness Score

I've found it doesn't work for certain categories of posters, but the average is about 100. I think I'll do a Meta thread about it eventually.

A patent on the worthiness score? Tongue
I initially couldn't figure out wtf you were doing a +1 for but I'm realizing now it's probably to stop those with 0 merit from screwing up the formula??

Please take a look at our WP before judging us.
Too late, I've judged you as a plagiarist trying to avoid detection!  Shocked

The potential for bitcoin and the blockchain to empower social and solidarity-based finance has yet to be truly tested. While the community around crypto technology is enthusiastic and experimental, it remains prone to an elitist, tech-centric outlook. An important role for social and solidarity finance practitioners is to consider how blockchain technology can evolve within today’s diverse political and cultural contexts.
Crypto can facilitate low-cost remittances for those seeking to transfer small amounts of money internationally. Or as a means for an otherwise excluded individual to have a decentralized global bank account, accessible by downloading an open source wallet from the Internet, versus having to set up an account with a financial institution. Also it can provide the basis for a richer set of financial services. However currently it is a playfield of the rich and the middle-class where poeple with stable income just make more money by crypto... it doesnt really reach those countries in real financial and social crysis. It meant to however.

The best way to look at this is in fact going back to predictions from before the bullrun in last Q4.

If you look at predictions from early 2017 and before you will find a much more realistic prediction. BTC price is for sure to go up sharply at some point. Remittance transfers are one reason. Bitcoin transfers to foreign countries have nearly doubled in the past 15 years. Political uncertainty in the U.S., the U.K. and developing nations is another factor. The growth of mobile transactions is another factor. Non-cash transactions will probably jump to 30% over the next decade. The total number of smartphone users is expected to reach 1 billion by 2020.
Based on all of these time factors experts predicted a 500K by 2030.
I think that is a much more realistic scenario. I would predict a 100K BTC in two years instead.

Crypto is officially dead.....

I told everyone when it was first conceived, government/SEC backed Security Tokens will be the nail in the coffin.... Nail, meet coffin.

This is a ploy is for the government to take control from small projects and put it into the control of Wall Street billionaires.

The SEC is damning ICO's while pushing the security token concept.

The government, when they made this 'warning' is essentially calling everyone stupid.

You do realize there's no actual HoweyCoin, right?

I wouldn't say they're "pushing" the concept. They're pretty much shitting on all ICOs.

Let's face it: most ICOs are just money grabs and deserve to be shat upon.

The government is doing is duty by performing a public service, just using a rare display of high-minded humor, which seems to be going over at least 50% of everybody's heads. That's why its fascinatingly funny to people like me.

IMO, the majority posting are not intending to invest in any coin, I'd guess these posts are just an effort to fill quotas for existing paid signature campaigns, or maybe they think they are part of some sort of howeycoin bounty that requires posting about the project

Yeah I agree with you, most of the generic shitposts here are exactly what you described. BTW, you have some interesting stats for your profile. I came up with a simple formula to help me decide the likely worthiness of somebody's posts, and out of 30+ forum members I generated it for, your profile is #2, second only to Theymos.

Clearly by my statement I know it's not real. But what I also know is that this is a paid advertisement by the SEC. They are bashing ICO's while pushing Security Tokens, essentially it's the government and Wall Street taking control over the crypto market. Exactly the opposite of the intended use for crypto.

Clearly you don't understand the full picture, because nobody paid anybody for this "advertisement."

How do you infer this as "pushing Security Tokens"?

yep. the patent is necessary because I'm building an ICO based around it. And if you believe that I have some HoweyCoins to sell you!

Yes you are correct about the +1. And if you take into consideration the flood of new accounts that are made here every day then the average is closer to 1 than 100. Regardless, you're still #2. But to show you that its value isn't absolute about anything, Satoshi is #5 and Hal Finney is #18!

MOON OR BUST

From the dude who coined Investardz (pl. & sg.; formerly Investard[.s.]), it's ...

MOON OR STYX

Think: Straight to hell sans a paddle.

Used in context: RateCoin is SYTXing/Styxing/styxing (perhaps not the latter since "Styx" is a proper noun, albeit acceptable for all intent and purposes giving the coinage (no pun intended) a tad latitude (STYXing, not RateCoin; in hindsight, I should have penned: giving the neologism a tad latitude, but I digress).

It's a bit of a sad practice to forcefully educate people like this, rather than write a good article about the state of ICO's and how to perform due diligence. Something about teaching with a hard hand I suppose Huh

Also, I feel this is taking away valid credit from projects that actually are working on something like this. Take for example LockTrip, they have an online travel agency that is 20% cheaper on average than AirBnB and Uber. Their booking system works and anyone can use them. They do not get the amount of exposure they deserve - anyone who looks into it can see the value to the economy and to consumers (travelers, mainly) they create.

I would really like to see it if we, the community, got together occasionally to analyse the market and make an honest and educated analysis of which projects should get exposure with investors' trust and why. Since it's a sharing economy, we are also sharing the important factors it takes to see it become successful Cool

The announcement was published on May 17, 2018,why does it take so long ICO?
This is the first time I've seen a bitcontact approving a coin
Where will I see sales data?
Three months passed, and what?

Studying the project, I was surprised- this is a joke?

I though theymost become greedy and start accepting ico endorsement, when I click it it goes to https://www.investor.gov/howeycoins and then I realize this is just some kind of jokes and make us to think before investing. Nice job good guy theymost.
