9101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: March 28, 2017, 08:27:06 PM
Well I think bitcoin would only die if everybody would stop using it,
As we all know it only have a value because of the stocks and demands.
This of course makes sense. However, the reasons for people to stop using it may differ a lot. It can be some better technology appearing or bitcoin facing huge security problem that will destroy it. It may also happen in case something really bad for humanity and Earth happens, because people are likely to stop trusting what they can't percieve immedeately by senses in such a situation. I think btc will never die just like gold doesn't. Or, rather, it will die along with humanity.
9102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will price of some Altcoins exceed 1000$ this year? on: March 28, 2017, 08:15:07 PM
Probably one of them can reach the target!
As some altcoins are not only dependent on demand and offer but are also regulated in a way by different campaigns, it is quite possible for some coin to reach a 'false' $1k. And I think that in about 5 years a couple of the best altcoins may reach the real $1000 price. I bet on Ethereum and Bytebal but who knows what the future will bring us. What can suddenly change the price of alts (but not THAT much that they reach $1000) is bitcoin suffering from a hard fork (if that will ever happen).
9103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: R.I.P Ethereum - The Pre-Mined ScamCoin is dead on: March 27, 2017, 03:15:52 PM
how many people in this thread saying ethereum is dead?Huh

ETH down : ETH is dead
ETH up : ETH is the new Bitcoin

same people same story.
Yeah, I think people should stick more to their views. I believe in Ethereum and don't think it is likely to die ever.
And I guess nowadays it is not correct to say like OP that ltc and btc are the only true coins. Firstly, litecoin is more like a btc clone, so maybe it is not one of the 'real coins'. Secondly, eth, byteball, dash and others have already gathered trust among bitcointalk members and the trust is one of the most important things since it produces the demand.
9104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to dump ETH? on: March 27, 2017, 03:01:42 PM
Segwit is gaining strenght. BIP148 UASF is out scaring Jihad Wu. Altcoins in general too bubbled. Bitcoin looking strong at 900 floor.

Time to dump ETH and go back to BTC?

may be,,, but eth just make new high price at this moment,,
if i saw in technical view,, eth will make a correction but not deep,, remember just a correction , then eth will go to continue their up trend
its only my prediction  Smiley

How?

ETH red, all alts red.. except NXT %30+, and decreed +74%

Ethereum is green already if we compare it with dollar ($50.60 (+0.74%) ). I think there is no good time to dump eth, because it really is a good currency. However, even if one thinks that eth is 'pump and dump' I think now is not the right time. The price is high but stable, whereas bitcoin is not very stable now and there still is a threat of hard fork as we remember. Maybe I just panicked but I sold all my btc today (didn't have much, though), because I don't want to end up with a lot smaller sum in USD after the fork.
9105  Economy / Economics / Re: crypto is the future, make money of it on: March 27, 2017, 02:43:35 PM
Crypto will not be the nearest future, even Bitcoin users are only 12+ millions ( Blockchain wallets ). All Internet users you can check here - http://www.internetlivestats.com/internet-users/, around 3.59 billions, so you can understand that even first and largest crypto - Bitcoin have limited user network.
Well, 12 million people is really not too much. However, everything is changing faster and faster as the population and collective learning increases. So the number can end up around 1 billion in 10 years if no big catastrophy concerning the whole planet won't occur. At least, for now cryptos are good for investment and earning money, so in a way they already are the better future for many of us.
9106  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you place all your funds into bitcoin? on: March 26, 2017, 07:32:55 PM
If you have invested in the past when the price was too low then you have already made some good profits by now and if you want to make good profits in future then you can afford to buy them even at present as price in long run will be definitely go higher so I don't there is too high risk in investing in bitcoins.
With respect to current low price of bitcoin, I am also planning to go bitcoins with all my other investment as I am believing this would be the right time to buy more number of bitcoins so that I could make good profits in quick time itself.

As per the technical analysis of many trading houses, bitcoin will bounce back very quickly toward $1500 price levels. So making quick profits would be the possibility I'm aiming now with all my funds into bitcoins.
I think now is a very bad time to invest in bitcoin since hard fork is likely to happen. I suggest you wait till the huge risk is gone and then behave according to what has happened. I'd rather hold my money in USD and wait till the situation clears up before deciding in which coin to invest money. Or you may try some alts now (Ripple coin, for example). But don't buy btc now!
9107  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Value pegged to Altcoin Value? What do you think? on: March 26, 2017, 07:13:40 PM
Hey guys,

was wondering. the price of altcoins is pegged to bitcoin. When value of bitcoin is going down, altcoin value goes down too. How do you make a profit now?
Unless you buy the cheap bitcoins now and change it to altcoins.

Some suggestions. Thanks!
I would say it is rather the opposite. When bitcoin's price goes down, alts grow up a bit (like ethereum and bitcoin now). But yes, like others say, there is no strict connection between btc and alts. Btc depends purely on demand and offer, whereas some altcoins (Decred, ETH, XPR) depend both on that and on companies' regulation of it.
I'd advice you to look at different coins on coinmarketcap and choose those which cost at least a couple of dollars and grow in price now to invest in.
9108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much higher will Ether go and what will it sink back to? on: March 26, 2017, 06:29:03 PM
If Bitcoin will have hard fork in the future, the price will 100% plummet, so Ethereum will go the the moon, its market cap may be higher than BTC's. My ATH for ETH is 0.1-0.2 btc.
Yes, I've been reading about hard fork and, unfortunately, it is very likely to happen. And surely the price will go down since people won't be able to use btc for some time + some will lose faith in bitcoin after it. As eth is second best now, it is sort of likely to grow in price. However, we have to take into account that eth may also suffer from hard fork. SO perhaps people won't demand the coin which can experience the same problem as bitcoin will (I hope it won't). So, maybe they'll decide to put money in Dash as with it only 'big users' can decide which blockchain is true.
9109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: March 26, 2017, 01:28:22 PM
Bitcoin has build its strong future worlwide , therefore it may be everyone's need in future.  Alternate crypto might be dismissed and ignored

We all know that bitcoin's position has already been established, but I don't think other crypto has no chance to be adopted worldwide. Look at what Ethereum is doing right now.

The bitcoin has established position. But if it does not evolve, it will be replaced by other coins. That is happening now.
Yes, bitcoin is losing its popularity as people tend to look more closely at alts and invest in them. And the problem is that bitcoin doesn't seem to be a flexible coin which can really evovle in a serious way. And yet I don't believe bitcoin will once be abandoned. I only think that eth will be nearly as good as bitcoin and we can see from the price growth (although some say the price is that high, because someone keeps it high) that ethereum is becoming second best already.
9110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $1000 to invest in AltCoins, which ones should I choose and why? on: March 26, 2017, 01:18:41 PM
First i'm willing to invest in 10-12 different altcoins, a maximum of $100 in each.

I'm looking for good projects / roadmaps so I can multiply my investment in some months x100 or more.

No matter if the risk is high. Would be happy if I have only 1 winner.

Which coin will you choose and why?

Thank you
As you are talking about 10 coins, the easiest thing to do would be to see the rank on coinmarketcap and invest in the first to there. However, I think that you better do it with some corrections.
Very good coins to invest in are Ethereum and Byteball. They really are innovative and look like strong alternatives to bitcoin. And the coins are now very new, so we can see they managed to survive and become popular already. So, there are 8 coins more to choose. Ripple looks like a great investment but perhaps for a short time. Litecoin was said to be nearly dead years ago but it is still on the stage, so I would consider it as a long-term investment. And I would also invest in Waves, Melon, ZCoin, Radium and Unobtanium. The tenth should be bitcoin, of course, although you want to invest in alts.
9111  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you think , better time for trading ? on: March 25, 2017, 10:36:01 AM
I also think it is a good period of time, to buy the coins whom have a lowest price right now.
I agree with the first part of the sentence and disagree with the second one. Trading is quite risky but one still has a chance to earn money this way even without good skills. All one needs in coinmarketcap to see the price charts and bitcointalk to see what others write about coins. But as for the lowest price coins... I think this is wrong. If the coins is worth a couple of cents why should one think it will cost more later? I think that the price has to be at least around $1. Because this means that coin at least has a chance.
9112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do small investments make sense? on: March 25, 2017, 10:16:53 AM
Trading and invest in gambling bankroll is far different. In trading you can use even minimum amount to earn more profit (depends on your trading skill). Invest in gambling bankroll is same as you gambling, because the profit is depends on how much people lost, if more people win your funds will decrease even become zero. Use small capital to invest in gambling bankroll is waste money, you will run out of fund very quickly.
Yes, I understood this when I found out how long it will take for my money to be returned in the best-case scenario. And then if one invested in some very popular casino's bankroll, say, 0.1btc, one will earn around 0.06 per year! So, it's a lot better to learn some trading stuff and try buying and selling currencies. The money can be returned in a few days if everything goes well. But you have to spend some time regularly on checking the prices. And, of course, it is a lot more risky than investing in known casinos. So, I guess, if one has at least 1btc to invest or trade, it is better to invest.
9113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which alt will pump next? Opinions please. on: March 25, 2017, 10:04:16 AM
Ripple - XRP is the next coin to pump hard! The pump will be epic!  Cool
Yeah, that's what I wanted to say as well. The price is very small now, and I guess this can be a very good investment for a few days. I wanted to buy some and than sell in about a week but I found out that there is no online wallet for them (I've never dealt with any other wallets) and there are also some news that "Ripple Trade is no longer available". Although perhaps it is possible on a site like this:https://changelly.com/exchange/btc/xrp. What do you think? Is XRP a nice chance to earn money very fast? And will it be possible to sell ripple easily when the price will start falling?
9114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sooo...which one of you is selling BTC to buy ETH? on: March 25, 2017, 09:51:29 AM
Sold my ETH yesterday and bought LTC and thought that I'll just let it sit for a while....but then.... learned about MLN and switched to that instead. It's a fun spring for crypto
Why did you sell ethereum? I consider this currency rather like a long-term investment since it really has its own advantages upon even bitcoin! I keep my eth but check the price every day. I think it is okay to withdraw only if it drops to $15 or so. Otherwise, if you people see the currency growing, why do they want to sell it? If you chack the price regularly you aren't likely to lose a lot anyway...
MLN is too young and unstable, I think, to be even compared with eth in terms of investment.
9115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I got $100 to blow, what coins should I get on: March 25, 2017, 09:14:31 AM
If you had $100 to blow today, what coins would you invest in?
I'm looking into getting my first Alt-coins, and interested in a long term investment
If we talk about long-term investment then it's better to put this money in known currencies but which don't cost too much. As ETH is $50 already and Z-cash costs even more, you better choose something like Monero which is only $20 now. Another nice option (but, perhaps, for a short-term investment) is Factom. The price is only $3 but we can see that it looks like it will be growing soon. And Waves is not having its best time, so if you choose short-term investment (and I think that with $100 it is better than long-term) you may invest in it today and withdraw in, say, 5 days. Good luck!
9116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the next "BIG THING" in the altcoin world on: March 23, 2017, 05:42:43 PM
there are a lot of new ICO in the altCoin world..
But who will be the real next "BIG THING" in the future round the corner??
Who, will be capable to introduce new real and useful features???

let's talk about!
Are altcoin community really care about new and useful features? It sure is unexpected.
Because from what I see, so far it is more like crowd is always picking coins which promise the highest ROI.
Nothing else matters.
Well, some are traders and so they buy and sell coins regularly. Others are looking for some long-term investments. And these people want to know whether this or that coin is likely to become famous and be stable in, say, a year from now.
Another thing people care about is the wallet, of course. If the wallet is hard to use, the coin is hard to trade (inconvenient).
So, I guess people do care about useful features here.
I voted for byteball, because at least it is very popular, expensive and stable now + smart contracts can be performed easily with it.
9117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Veros - a new cryptocurrency on: March 23, 2017, 05:31:54 PM
Okay, so you created the currency and it is in TOP 100. Are you just trying to advertize it here? Perhaps it is better to create a thread in announcement section then. And if you want more people to use it, you have to make agreement with some casino that they'll accept the coin or you should make some kind of a giveaway.
And where is the main info about this coin? Is there any mining? Halving? Finite number? How does it work?
And why do I see this coin being active from December (http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/veros/)  since you say you launched it in January?
9118  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin benefit of saving for a long time? on: March 23, 2017, 05:18:12 PM
why so many people store their bitcoin in their wallet for a long time, whether the benefits will they get?

Come share your thoughts

There is an obvious benefit here due to the price dynamics. We can see that mthe price is mostly slowly going down. This means that if you have, say, 1 bitcoin, you may spend around 20$ on something and as the price is growing you won't notice the difference in the price. Moreover, you can slowly earn some btc as well and thus you will be able to spend some money regularly and at the same time have only more and more of money.
9119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 5 Altcoins to Trade/Invest on: March 23, 2017, 08:34:40 AM
if you want fast take profit in trading you can choose coin with big volume transaction
1 ethereum (ETH)
2 monero
3 riple
4 litecoin
5 DASH

but if only have low capital money is good altcoin trading use coin is low price, example dogecoin
That seems reasonable in a way but I think that even having about $40 for trading it's okay to try with those worth around $20. So, you just buy 1 or 1.5 of a coin which is starting to grow in price and has been quite stable over the last month and wait till it becomes twice as much. Then it's up to you whether to make it a long-term investment or withdraw, earn some money out of it and try with another coin.
For me there is a big problem with trading that you need to create new wallet for each currency and spend some time finding out how it works. That's what stops me from being a trader.
9120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: March 22, 2017, 08:21:29 PM
more like a healthy pump  Cheesy
Why people keep saying that ETH is a pump? Is that only because IBM and Microsoft accept it? I think that even if $40 is not the real price (built purely on demand and offer) ethereum is still a good coin worth supporting. I invested in it when the price was $16 (I guess I got lucky) and I'm expecting it to be around $200 in a few month. So yer, perhaps even now is still a good time to invest in it, although the price has already grown.
