9141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypro will make people smarter? on: July 31, 2018, 04:20:21 AM
I think cryptocurrency can make people can be anything, there are users and lovers of cryptocurrency can be clever and rich but there is also from cryptocurrency who become criminals by stealing assets owned by others.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Its like, why even bother? You didn't say a damn thing. You typed words and they appeared on the screen, but didn't actually say anything.

All this person is doing is fulfilling requirements for their stupid bounty so they can collect a small pile of useless shit tokens. In the meanwhile, they're making a fool out of themselves and cluttering up the forum with unoriginal, uninteresting garbage.

Crypto is not making you smarter, you're making us dumber.
9142  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: virwox way better alternative on: July 31, 2018, 04:11:49 AM
Interesting idea, looks legitimate, however fees are a bit much.

There's a 6% premium on their going rate of BTC/EUR, then there's 10% in taxes and fees when you actually buy the voucher, so it adds up.

At least they are upfront about everything; it doesn't look like they're trying to hide anything from you.

I'm a long-time VirWox user so thats why I checked out the link. Virwox's trading fees can be a bit hefty but they are tried-and-true so I'm going to be sticking with them.

Thanks for sharing anyway.
9143  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-26] Venezuela's New Petro-Backed Crypto to Start Circulating in August on: July 30, 2018, 07:54:47 AM
Why would people trust government controlled Crypto currencies, more than Fiat currencies?

Beats me. The whole reason bitcoin was invented was to circumvent government control.

The latest trend, seem to be Asset backed Crypto currencies, but the question is, who controls the assets?  Angry Angry Angry

The funny thing about the oil "backing" this coin is that it hasn't even been dug out of the ground yet, and its only hypothesized that its actually there.
9144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BTCP] BitcoinPrivate: A Truly Private Bitcoin [Equihash] on: July 30, 2018, 06:05:07 AM
Just another altcoin riding on bitcoin's coat tails. Zero ingenuity or real world utility.

The fact that McAfee has anything to do with it is a death curse.

This thing will drop like a hot stone.

Currently ranked #69. I'll come back here when its below 100 just to say I told you so.
9145  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-26] Venezuela's New Petro-Backed Crypto to Start Circulating in August on: July 30, 2018, 03:19:32 AM
There's a shitload that doesn't add up about this. I can't find any evidence that this actually exists in any form. No mention of wallets, no visible blockchain, no preparations, no mention of integration with existing infrastructure.

It does exist, its just never been distributed. Its called ve:ptr and there's 100,000,000.

http://explorer.nemchina.com/?#/s_account?account=NC2LEUTTZVOZLP6TBZSZFWTFR3MQ7O3LXZYXRRM4

There is also a wallet which is the NEM wallet rejiggered to display primary balances in PTR. You can download it from the project homepage:

http://www.elpetro.gob.ve/index-en.html

The website says they reached their funding goal, which would mean they raised about $5 billion, making this the biggest ICO ever, however if you look at who actually contributed and has received their placeholder token, actual funds raised was less than $300,000. The process was incredibly non-transparent and the people in charge seem to understand nothing about cryptocurrency.

What the Venezuelan government doesn't mention is that they set the exchange rate for both the bolivar and the petro, which will open up massive black market opportunities for both currencies going forward.

All in all, it simply looks like a fundraising ploy by the government with no real substance, but we'll have to wait until after August 20th to know for sure.

Do you guys plan on running any bounty campaign?

Sorry dude. It's already over. The only part of the bounty left are translations for Icelandic and Esperanto.

On a side note, who is this Thermos guy and how did he get that sweet line through some of his words.

Must be an Admin thing.

9147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-SALE][ICO] Petro $PTR - Oil backed crypto currency launched by Venezuela on: July 29, 2018, 06:53:31 AM
Launched in February, the Petro is still limited to international commerce and remains beyond the reach of Venezuelan citizens, despite official plans to extend its use.

Eerrnt! Wrong. The petro was never launched and has never been used by anybody, ever. It was never distributed so it could not have been used. It's just not a possibility. This is a cold, hard fact.

According to Brian Nelson, author of The Silence and the Scorpion, Venezuelanalysis.com performs "damage control" for the Venezuelan government and "tried to discredit virtually every independent human rights study" while Hugo Chávez was in office as part of "an integral part of Venezuela’s propaganda complex," according to Venezuelan government sources.

What happens when you try and buy some of these amazing coins?

Dude, the ICO is still ongoing.

I sold all of my parents' property, converted it to Bitcoin Cash and then sent it to an unofficial address on a site that ended in .ru and which disappeared the next day.

Hoping for the best, fingers crossed!!

the project is very great. thank team

I WAS JUST ABOUT TO SAY THAT!!!

9149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano on: July 28, 2018, 03:29:54 AM
Glad to see a flurry of bots pumping this overpriced pretentious shell of a coin.

Meanwhile, on the Cardano block explorer:

Do you understand what that means? Nobody is using this coin for anything.

Literally nobody. This coin has a lot, lot further to fall. Have fun watching your bags get further decimated.
9150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-SALE][ICO] Petro $PTR - Oil backed crypto currency launched by Venezuela on: July 27, 2018, 02:20:24 AM
I agree Petro does not seem to be this decentralised standard however it could do some good still I believe.  If it opens the country even a little to the idea that this free exchange of crypto can be a positive force in an economy helping to facilitate business and trade to the benefit of society then it could achieve some positive even if unintended

But its not a free exchange. The only exchanges (within the country) allowed to sell the petro have to be state approved. The price of the petro will be artificially maintained, like the bolivar.

This will open up massive price discrepancies, and since crypto is more inherently free than fiat, there won't be a "black market" for petro buyers, Venezuelan petro buyers will just be able to log onto exchanges outside the country and buy them for cheaper there.

As with the bolivar now, the whole system will be undermined by the state's control over what should be free market trade.

https://www.telesurtv.net/english/news/Venezuelas-New-Currency-Starts-Circulating-on-August-20-20180725-0030.html

"The president pointed out that there are two factors that have hurt the country's economy."

He forgot to mention two other factors

1. The government's insatiable greed;
2. The government's insistence on trying to control free market activities, combined with an overarching ineptitude.
9151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoincash now is 3rd in CMC do you guys BCH can overtake bitcoin in future? on: July 25, 2018, 06:19:38 PM
Bitcoin Cash is effectively Bitcoin as designed and as it worked from 2009-2012.

Bitcoin Segwit (BTC) has become a Blockstream-captured frankencoin despite its high market cap.

It may stay high in value but it's not the peer to peer money I wanted.  Future belongs to BCH.

Fast-forward to present day: BCH has fallen to #4 without much progress in terms of market penetration or real-world adoption. Roger Ver stands at the brink of lunacy and the guy that wrote this post hasn't visited the site since May.

Meanwhile bitcoin's dominance of the total market cap space is on the rise, moving from about 38% at the time of Jonald's posting to its current 47%, with many of those %s coming from BCH.

Me trust project with dollars

Part of me wants to keep giving out my precious Merits like they were Facebook Likes, and if I were still doing that, I would Merit this comment; alas I am not a Merit Source. But I still like your comment.
9153  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: July 25, 2018, 04:40:42 PM
I just hope that the staff/moderators are, indeed, using that thread as a honeypot to tag spammers and plagiarizers. One of the latter class of idiot plagiarized a post by "Thermos Cat"... You really can't make this stuff up!

Its frankly so stupefying that its beautiful. Majestic, really... People figure out how to use bots just so they can do stuff like this.
9154  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: July 25, 2018, 02:09:42 PM

And speaking of, nur1labs from the HoweyCoins thread is *still* clueless... now he wants to report theymos!?!  Grin

"Sweet mother of Crisco..." I LoL'd at that.

Its great because you earnestly tried to tell people the lowdown only for your post to get bulldozed over by comments on the validity of HoweyCoins.

You even wrote "THIS IS NOT A REAL PROJECT." And that didn't seem to phase anybody! I just gave your post a Merit so maybe people will read it again, but its doubtful because we've already moved on to the next page.

I can't bring myself to make the reveal, its too much fun watching the madness.
9155  Economy / Services / Re: Lookign for a good crypto writer for a website on: July 25, 2018, 12:27:00 PM
I have a writing service in my signature, I will send you a PM.

Your past work is on Medium and it's sloppy. Still looking for writers!

"Lookign for a good crypto writer for a website"

We all make mistakes sometimes.  Wink

Hahahah, this is why both of you should use my proofreading service! Smiley

I lol'd. That was pretty funny.
9156  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: July 25, 2018, 12:00:29 PM
This discussion is very interesting and we feel important about the activities in this bitcointalk forum which are discussed in this tread, it could be a memory for us in interacting about the problems of bitcoin and other criptocurrency in this bitcointalk forum becomes sharper and can be a lesson for us all who are involved in this bitcointalk forum.

That's a good one Putra, where did you find it?
Oh, wait....

Now that's what I call "meta"!
9157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Are you ready for the future? on: July 25, 2018, 09:55:00 AM

Okay i stand corrected. that certainly counts as utility.

You mean... like Bitcoin and all the thousands of cryptocurrencies out there?

Actually I use bitcoin about 4-5 times a week. I get paid in bitcoin. I pay other people in bitcoin. I buy services with it all the time. I transfer it into fiat and back again when need be.

BitCORE on the other hand... you're correct in thinking its value is 99.99% speculative.

I just don't see any originality in it and as such its just another clonecoin riding on bitcoin's coat tails.
9158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Are you ready for the future? on: July 25, 2018, 07:28:59 AM

with zero real-world utility.

that part never seems to phase people though.

I payed ALL my bills this month using BTX.

Okay I'll bite because I'm genuinely interested. How?
9159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitPico throwing down against Roger Ver on: July 25, 2018, 07:27:22 AM
I have said this before. Bitcoin Cash would be a better network without Roger Ver and Craig Wright.

Oof. Forgot about Craig Wright, aka Satoshi Nakamoto. Two of the biggest known liars in the cryptosphere.

Its like, how much money is enough? The average GDP of all the countries in the world is $17,300, yet these two multimillionaires throw their weight around trying to bend reality for even more personal financial gain, instead of promoting cryptocurrency for what it was intended: helping the average person by leveling the financial playing field.

I don't think all the money in the world would be enough for these two. They are driven by a weird, deep-seeded psychological need to be recognized as God, or something.
9160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Are you ready for the future? on: July 25, 2018, 06:18:47 AM

and its quick for phone to phone banking , for the unbanked millions .

at the same comparison satoshis/photons , $8450 USD/ $ 2 USD.

with exactly the same number of coins overall....

do the maths . and see poem in post above.

with zero real-world utility.

that part never seems to phase people though.
