9141  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: January 30, 2016, 04:37:32 PM
Islam hates all people who are different religion of their. They want all people to be muslims and respect sharia and muslim law. Now radical islamic hate muslim people who don't think like them, and say that all people who don't think like they are not muslims and should be killed

If I might suggest a parallel, just for discussion purposes.

Muslims do seem to hate pork.  But the Koran does not say "hate pork," it simply says not to eat it.

Somehow in the cultural practice of Islam, pork is elevated to hateable.  A simple "do/do not" edict from the Old Book is transformed into an emotional hot button.

It would seem many other things are also.

As someone who does not watch cable, satellite or broadcast TV, I do not watch Fox News.  However, I've managed one way or another to watch the fox debates.  Also, my new car has Sirius, so I have been listening to Fox News and FN Business on and off on the radio (eg, voice track of the TV show).  For about 10 weeks.  Here's what I've concluded.

All the Fox News guys and girls talk like they'd like to get Trump out of the running.  All of them.  Period.

Seems like that's just the way it is.  But the primaries are going to him fast and hard.

Let's just see what happens.
9143  Other / Politics & Society / Re: In what conditions would you convert to Islam? on: January 30, 2016, 12:27:11 AM
I was wondering, since it seems to be a hot topic: what would convince you to convert to islamism?
Would you do it or not? And if so: why? Maybe because you'd be afraid?
I've seen a lot of people convert by themselves because after studying they got convinced that it's the right religion.
Has anyone converted after reading/studying islamism?

I always wondered if a person, seeing how things are in the world, if the situation would arise, would choose Islam in order to live.
I'm curious about people's opinions regarding this.

Never. I don't hate Muslims but I hate how they're religion works. its all about anti human rights spacially for woman.

No you are wrong mate, I am a hindu guy but I have many muslim friends and your perception is totally wrong towards muslim, you cannot hate the entire religion looking at few bunch of people, if I fall in love with a muslim girl and if she asks me to convert to muslim then I would surely do.
I could marry to get the girl and still hate the religion, or be totally indifferent about it.
9144  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: January 30, 2016, 12:18:08 AM
Who gives a fuck what the French think about our domestic laws? What are they going to do? Not call us for help again next time they get their asses kicked?

Dude if you don't want my opinion don't go on a thread named "your opinion on guns' control".
For the "not call us for help" part, yeah thanks when you see how you screwed us after I wonder if nazis were not better...
And I like it how WWII is the proof of French incapacity to protect themselves and American great heart but how Lafayette is forgotten.

I'll take the time to read your links later. But as I said and as you ignored, I apologized for the misunderstanding of the stats you provided. I can't really give you more than an apology. But it doesn't demonstrate your point as I was talking about violent crimes. Of course you could argue that "making a population safe" aso includes minor crimes like thefts. But guns won't increase thief, that's rather obvious there is no corelation between the two.

So I was talking about violent crimes rates and homicides. That's why I was talking about mass shootings.

And if my opinion offenses you, again don't go on a thread made for that or ignore me.
LOL, an opinion based on "facts" from Michael Moore is fundamentally insulting.

But go read some of the links and see what you think then.

Ok so I took the time to read PARTS of your link. Yeah parts because it's deep and heavy legislation text in English and sorry but I took some times to read what seemed important, I' to me so I might have omitted some things. If you're not happy with that then go read the whole French legislation to have an idea of how difficult it is for a non native English speaker ><

And... Well it perfectly confirms Michael Moore documentary sorry. I don't see any "propaganda" in what he made. The very basis of owning a firearm dealer license is "Is not prohibited from shipping, transporting, receiving or possessing firearms or ammunition, nor in the case of a corporation, partnership, or association, is any individual possessing, directly or indirectly, the power to direct or cause the direction of the management and policies of the corporation, partnership, or association prohibited from shipping, transporting, receiving or possessing firearms or ammunition;"

So in short, not doing anything illegal. Which means that more or less any business can sell weapons and bullets if the local police force allows it.

I don't see the propaganda here. Again, I'm trying to be humble as I'm pretty sure I don't understood everything of the USA legislation, but all I see is an incredible freedom of firearms.
what the hell you talking about?  The specific rights acquired by someone getting the Federal Firearms License is to sell guns as a dealer.  It has nothing at all to do with the local police department.

This affirms several aspects of the right to possess guns as laid out in our constitution.

9146  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mobsters' Bunker in Italy Found, With 12 Guns, Pasta Pot on: January 29, 2016, 05:17:16 PM
ROME — Italian police have discovered an underground bunker in the countryside of southern Calabria with two fugitive mobsters holed up inside.

The convicted 'ndrangheta clan bosses had a dozen firearms, including a Kalashnikov, and a pasta pot neatly hanging on a wall. Tomatoes, salad and what looked like a plate of ricotta were on the counter when police raided the bunker early Friday.

Vines and bushes camouflaged the hideout.

Police said they are trying to find a network of accomplices they suspect helped Giuseppe Crea to elude capture for 10 years and Giuseppe Ferraro for almost 20 years. Crea faces 22 years in prison for Mafia association; Ferraro was sentenced to life imprisonment, including for a murder conviction.

The cocaine-trafficking 'ndrangheta is one of the world's most powerful criminal organizations.

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2016/01/29/world/europe/ap-eu-italy-mobster-bunker.html?ref=world
So the mobsters had about as many guns as the average Texas family?

ROFL...
9147  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drugs fuck you up, man on: January 29, 2016, 05:15:51 PM
I'm all for decriminalization and legalization, thing is, the government and their cohorts are making tons of profit off of drugs - by keeping the prisons full - state, federal, and private (the private prison industry is HUGE) - every drug arrest ensures another person slapped with a misdemeanor or felony and thrown into the system be it through probation or jail which never ends there. Here in Texas having drug convictions can and will preclude you from being able to rent an apartment in all but the lowest income areas, most decent jobs won't hire someone with a recent drug-related offense, the list goes on... The whole thing is a mess, you've got to really wonder just why the powers that be won't legalize drugs when there is so much profit to be made, obviously there is more money or worth in them keeping them illegal.

I pretty much agree with all you have said.  But where's the limit?  Some things simply cannot be allowed, legalized, decriminalized, whatever.

And example is sniffing glue.  We all know that kills brains.  Poisons can not be legalized, right?  So where is the limit?
9148  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drugs fuck you up, man on: January 29, 2016, 05:13:44 PM
Once again, you are all ignoring the best solution for this. We should make all sorts of drugs legal. That will reduce the crime rate and gradually the drug consumption rates will also come down. Countries such as Uruguay and Portugal have legalized drugs, and they have witnessed sharp drop in deaths due to drug overdose.

Not legal. Nationalized. They should be produced distributed and controlled only by government. Without any kind of advertising and a good drug education in schools.

This way the money currently helping mafia would be in the hand of the government and would be used to get a better education and healthcare. That's a win win.
Except where the government and the mafia are the same thing.  That's a lose lose.  And even if they were not the same, no reason to think that money would be well spent.

No reason at all.

Watch documentary "American drug war" guy explained there very good about drug problems. Inform yourself about everything first, read a bit C. Casteneda. After that u will see that word "drug" doesnt exist!!!
Lets make it clear for beggining there is some herb`s, and there is chemical products. U also have these two thing combined to get something "better".
Herb open your mind, everything else fuck u up!
End of disccusion about it!
Now people will use anything to run away from reallity but they use things that posin their mind and body`s.  Its forbidden by governments to use some herbs but its not forbidden to use who know what kind of mixes.

I'm not quite sure how to put this, but Casteneda isn't really worth reading.  He was a minor drug cult figure, and produced about 12 books.  There's really no understanding of Mexican culture that can be had from his work, and no real understanding of the old style shaman.

Certainly it's possible to read about the native American cultures, and come to understand their use of things such as peyote.  But not from Casteneda.

I'm not ignoring that at all, and I agree that drugs should be made legal.  It's an unholy shitfuck of a mess that criminalization has created, and any "war" on drugs is a joke.  But for those who get addicted--and there are going to always be plenty of them, legalization isn't exactly helping them nor is legalization a cure.  And I do have sympathy for addicts, with limits.  Some people are born predisposed to addiction, some are not.

Bit of an oversimplification, though, to assert that "all drugs" should be made legal.

Legal can be thought of as produced by legitimate businesses with quality control in place, then sold at some type of legitimate store or outlet at prices comparable to street prices (otherwise people buy on the street.)

It's easy to say this regarding the marihuana issues.

I would likely allow legalization of at least some hallucinogenics.  LSD, cactus.  There's certainly a long track record with these and some understanding of them.

What about opiates?  All?  Some?  Why?

What about meth?

Now what about cocaine and crack?

9152  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Socialism" the most looked up word of 2015 on: January 28, 2016, 10:37:43 PM
Socialism has been branded as a bad political ideology, at least here in the States.  This has been nothing more than brainwashing the government put on civilians to get them "pumped up" for a war (WWI, WWII, etc.).  So it's no surprise that most of the older generation are hesitant at liking a democratic socialist, such as Bernie Sanders. ....

Gee, as someone who does not like Sanders, I thought it was just because he was a loser of a politician who was eminently unlikeable.

Who would have thought?  It's all because he's a commie?

How come I like Putin then?
9153  Other / Politics & Society / Re: should women be blamed for wearing daring dress thus reason they were raped on: January 28, 2016, 10:34:15 PM
it should be understood by women that dressing provocatively certainly does influence the chances that a predator will select them over another woman who isn't dressed as provocatively. They should be extra cautious and aware of their surroundings when they're dressed to impress...

I don't think here is a factual basis to that assertion.

First of all, sexual predators may pick based on criteria we don't know what they are.

Second, "provocative" means different things to different cultures and people.

Third, Islamic cultures view Western women as third rate creatures anyway.

To the contrary, numerous studies show that men are more audio-visually stimulated than females.

The difference in interpretation between people and cultures of the word "provocative" is a minimal factor since the majority of people are reasonable and won't harm others who they disagree with... There are some among us we can consider predatory, and given a choice between prey, being more attractive to a predator is simply a risk present in nature........
?

When a discussion is about "those who do xyz" pointing out that "most don't do xyz" does not lead to conclusions relevant to the subject.

What can your computer do? Almost nothing.

Back in '99 or 2000, there was a company in Scottsdale that had add-ons for your computer that could take care of your whole house. I'm sure these add-ons are still around. But I have never heard of anybody having or using them.

Just think. The computer controls your coffee machine, your alarm clock, when your drapes open and close, the room temp for every room of your house... yes, and the smoke alarm... and anything else electrical.

Back then it operated through the electrical wiring in your house. Now it could all be radio controlled if you didn't like using the wiring.

Anybody know where to look for the equipment?

Smiley
let me google that for you

Common sense dictates that if there aliens able to travel the vast distances of space to reach us, than they are so technologically advanced that we pose no threat to them if they contact us. It's like us fearing ants because they are hostile.

But what if they like tasty, exotic foods?

9158  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 17yo girl faces fine for using pepper spray against sex attacker on: January 28, 2016, 01:50:44 PM
this is just stupid!!! how a 17yo girl who protected herself from a sex attacker then gets arrested? i dont know how police work works in other countries, but this is plain stupid.

She was not arrested, she might maybe perhaps get a fine.
Police has nothing to do with that. What's stupid is that law forbidding to own a perfectly non lethal defense equipment.

I'm the first one to defend gun control policy. No citizen should own something lethal, but pepper spray will cause nothing more than a huge headache and crying like a baby! Why not allowing citizens to own one??? I'm pretty much sure it's even better than just fighting bare hands!

A municipal fine certainly can result in jail, for example if it is not paid.

Pepper spray has it's own unique attributes and dangers, for example if it is used inside a closed environment such as a car or bus.

At least to that extent, there are cases where using pepper spray should result in a fine.

Wait, so if she is so incompetent in so many ways, how is it that she is so good at murdering people and blaming it on others?

She's incompetent to become president. She's very competent at lying and killing people.

hillary Clinton will not be president And only Obama will be able to keep her, some of her aides and the IT tech who did not have security clearance to maintain Clinton's server out of prison.

Certainly for the right payoff Obama can pardon and all her associates.

When I talk to friends who are Democrat, they seem to be totally unaware of the email server thing or view it as a republican plot.  It's not going to stop them from voting for her.

But independents and young people who were enthusiastic about Obama, they will NOT see her as someone to be enthusiastic about.

Because she's not pretty, doesn't have a good speaking voice, doesn't resonate with the crowds.  There won't be any "Obama Girl" meme for Hillary (or Saunders).
