It looked pretty cool: the owner was active in the chat(troll box), the layout looked nice, and the exchange had a cool system where the owner got 50% of the fees, 25% were given back to the users, and the other 25% were represented by "mcxFEE" shares which anyone could buy. I was interested, and the fee's were at a pretty low price, so I bought a couple at .18 btc each. I started talking to the owner and sending some suggestions for the exchange, and everything was looking pretty good. Then today I got on and saw that the shares were up to .25 btc. I was getting ready to sell my shares and send the bitcoins to my btc-e account so I could buy myself a laptop, when the website shuts down. It shows an "MCXNOW IS DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE" page and I think "Huh, well that sucks...". Two hours later, same thing. I do some googling and Bitcointalk searching, and figure out that the owner of mcxnow, Realsolid, has been involved in some scams before. Well, now I'm panicking, because I have very few bitcoins and most of my very tiny bit-wealth was on mcxnow. Luckily, the website went back up and I could breathe again; unfortunately I was now greeted with a page stating "All Trading Stopped. Withdraw Your Coins Before December 20th.". Turns out Realsolid decided that the stress of handling support tickets for an exchange was too much for him, and rather than buy back the fee shares or hire someone to handle support, he decided to just let the share holders take the fall. All trading was frozen on the site except for mcxFEE to bitcoin, and the price rapidly dropped to less than a quarter of what it had been. He did not cancel buy orders from before the website's crash. Furthermore, he spent about an hour on the chat saying that the users should be grateful he didn't just steal all of their coins and that he has no obligation to shareholders of mcxnow to keep the exchange running. He also called the people in the chat box "noobs" and other insults. EDIT: My bad! I thought I saw parallels to Cryptsy in the above.

These so-called brainiacs claim to be operating an uber secure exchange continuing to expect moneys into the system, but can maintain the simplest of things, i.e., their chat system. Meanwhile, Paul Vernon's in China trying to secure more funding and overseeing his Cryptsy clone. I'm still trying to get my head wrapped around Jim Shockney's wife no longer being at Cryptsy when she was Paul's right-hand man (so to speaks) over the years in myriad endeavors prior to the advent of Bitcoin. Ginny's name can be found on a many official documents that either she or Paul submitted for tax purposes, most I've documented in this thread. |

Ok. This stuff has gone far enough and you are hurting people and companies I care about. I do promotional/marketing work for both Coinabul and Crypto X Change. In a previous life I was noagendamarket on these forums but I had my info doxed by SA forums and had the account shut down. I didnt expect my own community to do the same and publish my personal details for all the world to see. Ive been a bitcoin evangelist for the past two years which is why these two companies contacted me to work with them on spreading the word about their services. I have a lot of respect for both the guys running these sites which is why I agreed to help. At this point it has been unpaid voluntary work advising them on bitcoin related matters and setting up social media accounts etc. Ken from cryptoxchange is an Aussie just like me and he lives not far from my sister in new south wales. He is a successful businessman outside of bitcoin and so is Jay from Coinabul. It saddens me that people make these threads without thinking about the consequences. We are real people with families,jobs and care about bitcoin just as much as anyone else here. The reason Jay doesnt want to publish his personal info is because it is a physical gold site there are safety concerns related to blackmail and/or people turning up in person etc. Im sure anyone can see that is a prudent thing ? Its also the reason I didnt want my info public and any of you need to ask yourselves the same questions. Im trying to help these companies become successful and maybe one day I can earn an income doing what I love which is promoting bitcoin and the people/companies in bitcoin I respect. Ive been asked previously to become the community manager for the bitcoin project but I declined for several reasons. I am still on irc and running the bitcoinmedia twitter account. Occasionally I post stories about both Coinabul and CryptoXchange when I think they merit it. They will be getting any documents the community needs to feel safer dealing with Coinabul and CryptoXchange. They will also vouch for all 3 of us if you feel the need to ask. As far as comparing these companies to mybitcoin that is extremely unfair. They are both publically listed companies in Australia and the US. They are following all laws and regulations pertaining to owning and operating their respective companies. They also post on the forums and are active in irc. We all have bitcoin-otc ratings. The companies themselves will be getting those. They are going to be pentested by bitcoin community members that everyone knows. At this point I dont know what else to say other than please stop posting these rumours and speculation. As for bitcoinmedia.com I handed the domain over to bitcoinconsultancy awhile ago. It is a community site and anyone with any interesting bitcoin news can post there. Im now going to take steps so that it is split into a separate advertising/review site and a purely news site. The only thing Ive done related to bitcoin which I am sorry for is to send a message to bruce wagner on twitter telling him about bitcoin and then donating a few coins to him when he published an address, thus starting in motion the whole bitcoion show debacle and leading to people assuming bitcoinmedia was bruce eventually. How was I to know the shitstorm that would happen just because I donated 50btc once to some random guy on twitter? What do they say about the butterfly effect ? Bumping this thread to show Robbin Stephenson some of my work from over four years ago. Virtually every entity mentioned in the post above is defunct. For those not versed as to who Robbin Stephenson is, he's a dude who's planning on killing over a hundred Bitcoiners and I'm the person who outed his home address, hence he being pissed off enough to give me neg trust and pen a thread in Meta that's echoed in other sections of this forum tryin' to discredit me, needless to say, all in vain. |

Dude is anyone still using Cryptsy? I can see only one outcome of this, and it's Cryptsy's insolvency. No trust=No business.
That is what blows me away ! Why are people still using that exchange ? I also heard some grumbling around more and more with Yobit too. I seen a guy on their chat today ask a classic question that reminded me off Cryptsy antics. He said.. If we can't withdraw "FLY" coin then why are the markets still open ? That is classic Cryptsy shenanigans.. i had asked the same to BitJohn millions of times before. And i always got a cocky / snotty fuck off response. Once he went to Twitter (main page feed) and added a message saying there was a problem with a coin.. when i probed him about making an announcement. I said why the hell are you not warning people ? He posted there was a problem with that 1 coin then came back to chat and all snotty like i guess cranky that day said.. There happy Spoetnik ? China has capped the amount of money Chinese holders of bank and credit cards can withdraw outside the country, in its latest effort to discourage people from moving badly needed capital offshore.
China’s foreign-exchange regulator put a new annual cap on overseas cash withdrawals using China UnionPay Co. bank cards, a UnionPay official said on Tuesday. Under the new rules, UnionPay cardholders can withdraw up to 50,000 yuan ($7,854) overseas during the last three months of this year, and the amount will be capped at 100,000 yuan for all of next year, the official said.
State-run UnionPay has a virtual monopoly on processing card transactions in China, meaning the limits extend to nearly all Chinese bank- and credit-card holders. It wasn’t clear when the new cap was issued.
The new cap is in addition to an existing 10,000 yuan daily withdrawal limit, part of China’s curbs on how much money can flow across its borders.
The move by China’s State Administration of Foreign Exchange is the latest by Beijing to scrutinize capital outflows.
I'd say it's not beneath Paul Vernon to offer new Chinese clients to Cryptsy an immediate Tier 2 or Tier 3 (or higher) ranking upon sign-up, thus filling Cryptsy's coffer with the general consensus much needed reserves, depleted by most likely mismanagement and nefarious means. |
