921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Turns Profitable with Bitcoin and Plans for More Growth on: August 05, 2023, 10:55:25 AM
If the other companies see Microstrategy’s big profits, they will definitely get jealous and wanna bite from them profits. MS is doing a good job investing in btc because of this. Tesla did the same thing too. I don’t know the last updates on this but I remember that Elon said they are not going to sell the remaining btc Tesla holds. Maybe we will see Apple or Amazon making an investment in bitcoin too. If Tesla did it, the other FAANG companies can do it as well.

I disagree though, if they have seen the Tesla or MS is making money with bitcoin, then Amazon or Apple could also go pubic and tell that they are investing. But they know how volatile it is, so they are not going to put in their balance sheet just like what MS or Saylor is doing.

And I'm in the conclusion that MS is still break even at $29k++ price of bitcoin right now.

Of course they can make money in the next bull run, but it will be in the next 2 years that big companies doesn't want to take the risk. They would rather have the money right now and move it inside, and not into bitcoin.
922  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin will accepted worldwide for legal then price rising $100k?? on: August 05, 2023, 09:56:47 AM
Well yes I think the price of Bitcoin would be very high if we saw it legal all over the world. But this is just a imagination you are having. And I do not think this will happen not for a long time at least.

And so far we have like El Salvador accepting it as legal tender, and to some extend, countries like Japan and Germany too are very open about it and very bitcoin friendly countries. But for other nations, they are still very reluctant to even accept it, much more to legalized it because of so many questions about it.

We like to talk about the number 100k very much. I think for price of Bitcoin to be 100k it will take more adoption and regulation from big government bodies. This will make us see this big number we all want to see in our lifes.

Probably it's because in the last all time high, we have been anticipating $100k but it didn't happen. So right now, this is the numbers that we have in our mind in the next bull run, at least 6 digits and any higher than $100k is already a bonus for us.
923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Discussion about ETH on: August 05, 2023, 09:29:54 AM
Low tax? tax is depend on where you live and your nationally, I think what you meant is low gas fee.

Perhaps this is what the OP meant, because we all know that ETH is used to be one of the fastest crypto before, unfortunately, if my memory serves me right, the start of the crypto kitties really put a lot of stress in the network of ETH and the fees started to go up.

The discussion about ETH 2.0 has been existed since long time ago and it looks like Vitalik Buterin not really care since there's no altcoin overtake ETH's position yet. Proof Of Stake is centralized and it never been a good protocol due to centralized.

True, it's been years of discussion, even prior to the pandemic, we have heard about ETH 2.0 and it's numerous delays and roadmap. But still the high ETH gas fees was not resolved. And on the other hand, it become more centralized that ever.

The best undervalued crypto right now is Bitcoin.

It is because we are still in the bear market. But once the market goes on a bull run, $100k or more is on the horizon for all of us.
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 05, 2023, 09:04:50 AM
The Lakers giving Anthony Davis $186,000,000 with a three year extension seems a bit insane given how much time he has missed. He’d better start staying healthy for the amount of money they’re giving him. 62 million dollars when he only plays about 50 games in a good year seems like like overpaying. I sure hope that contract doesn’t come back to bite them.

Anthony Davis is eligible for the maximum contract extension with that huge worth. Therefore, if the given contract is probably below, Davis might just spend the remaining 2 years on his contract and then consider leaving. What the Lakers do is secure him early despite being an injured prone.

In fairness to Anthony Davis, he's the only player I know that even an injury prone, he can unleash his monster performance right away after returning to play.

Referring to his last season performance, Davis was able to keep his average percentage after being sidelined for several games.

Yeah but the NBA is a contract cap league not like the major league baseball league.  Meaning if AD is injured the Lakers won't have any room to sign anyone else.  They are locked into Lebron and AD and both are older and on the downward trajectory of theor careers.  They will sell seats but they aren't going to win anything with old dudes sucking up all the cap room.

I think they are still playing well; LeBron and Davis have good statistics during the playoffs. It's just that they fall short because they lack some players who could improve their team, particularly on the defensive side. If they can sign a big man to help Davis in the paint and consistent 3-point shooters, I believe they could become a championship team.

The good thing with the Lakers is that they already have LeBron and AD, both of whom have won championships together. So their teammates have confidence in them and trust that they can lead again. Yes, they lost to the Nuggets, which doesn't look good as they were swept. However, let's see in the coming season, and I believe they'll avenge their losses, especially when both AD and LeBron are healthy.

They didn't expect how lethal the line up of Denver last season so I guess they learn a lot with that. Their current roster is already a title contender since they got a lot of talents acquired this off season so for sure many Lakers fans are excited to see their hop again due to their new addition. But let see how far they can go since its up to their coach now on how they can facilitate their strong roster since they need to develop their teams confidence and chemistry to work well together.

For it's the buildup, and the chemistry of the team that really brought them into championship level. Murray just got injured in a prior season and then Porter Jr if I'm not mistaken has suffered from back spam that really bother him.

And with the team healthy last season, we can see how they become the top contender in the West and then totally dominated the playoffs although they have to contend against Booker and Durant.

But after that, it was a mismatch with Miami in the finals.
925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Potential Threat to XRP on: August 04, 2023, 12:11:46 PM
It's because it is a banker crypto if I'm not mistaken, and this is what I hear during the early days here. It is very quick and many like remittances company are going to used it as well the Ripple has partnered with them and other banks.

But I haven't follow it since like 2018, although I would agree that it's very quick, but the roadmap itself might have change course or just completely try to grow by working with banking institutions, hence it is touted to replace SWIFT.
926  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can you tell me the best indicator for long term investment? on: August 04, 2023, 11:29:13 AM
As the title says, I hope some of you can share your experience about the best indicators for your long term investment.
So far I've only invested on a cyclical basis, but I'd love to get your experience into consideration for my future investment plans.

Fausto Arta

Not really sure what you mean, but if you are really holding bitcoin for a long term or at least one cycle (4 years), then all you have to do is to buy specially at bear market. You don't need to wait when to buy, no need to time the lowest low or bottom price because no one can see that.

All you have to do is to just buy as much as you can in years regardless of what the price will be and then HODL and then like what others did, wait for the bull run and then sell and make profits.
927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 04, 2023, 06:15:48 AM

So now, we will wait what will be the official PPV numbers and it has somewhat around 500k-800k or even break the 1 million mark.

The numbers are already out, Errol Spence Jr. Vs Terence Crawford PPV Buys Reach 700k, Bring In $50 Million In Revenue
Quote
The highly anticipated boxing match between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. was a huge success, generating an estimated 700,000 pay-per-view buys and bringing in more than $50 Million in revenue. This is the highest number of buys for a boxing PPV since Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao in 2015.

You prediction is correct, the PPV buys is lower than the Garcia vs Davis fight but of course it's still a big success.

No doubt it was highly anticipated.  Unifying those belts and the career win that Crawford needed to solidify his legacy.  Doesn't take much anymore though the decent boxing matches that are worth ppv have gone dramatically so when one pops up it will get more hits than it would have in the past.  Worth the price on this one.  I will buy round 2 of this fight.

I guess everyone is waiting for round 2. But there are also boxing pundits that says that a rematch is not needed as it was overwhelming performance. However, if the fight is 154 lbs in which fans of Spence says that he was weight drain at 147 lbs and Crawford knows it, could be a different outcome.

So for me if there is a rematch, the numbers might not be as close as the first one. Even the GGG vs Canelo rematch was way below in revenues in terms of PPV as compare to the first one, if I'm not mistaken.
928  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: August 04, 2023, 04:40:09 AM
when a gambler is looking for a wager-free bonus in such a way that they can just deposit into the casino claim the bonus and then withdraw,  not knowing that such a casino does not exist and if you see any casino that offers such too good to be a true offer, there is a high probability that their end up scamming the gambler.

No trusted casino or any trusted service would offer such thing. A wager free bonus that you can withdraw immediately after making a deposit, no string attached, is the same as those well known bitcoin doublers.
Any reasonable person must realize that there is something fishy when they see an offer like that because why would the casino give you money for free, what are they going to earn!

Yeah, that is not a kind of business model that casinos are going to put up because they obviously know that they are going to lose money with that. And if we heard such casinos then, think twice to play with that platform because it's very fishy in the first place.

I guess as gamblers there are red flags that we are aware all and we can all smell it from afar. And most of the time, we reported it here or in their ANN thread to take notice so that no gamblers can fall for that trick.

Nice numbers, yeah, it fall below the numbers of Garcia vs Davis, but this is still considered as a success and could be the second biggest fight for this year. As we have said, Crawford is not a PPV crowd drawer, but with Spence as his dance partner, getting into 700k buys is already huge for this two.

And obviously, the live gates and PPV has given them huge paycheck and most likely easy 10-20 million each for this boxers. And we are talking about the rematch, and majority says that it will be the same result. But who knows, at 154 lbs, Spence might be stronger.
930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: risk of centralization of bitcoin. on: August 03, 2023, 12:02:01 PM

what are the potential ethical issues and challenges arising from the increasing centralization of mining power and wealth in very few dominant mining pools in the Bitcoin network and what can the bitcoin community do? what measures can be taken to maintain decentralization of the network while addressing these concerns?

like the risk of 51% attack when big pools have more power, etc.

It's already 2023 and we are still talking about the 51% attack? Not saying that it can't be done, but it's impossible at this point to even think about it. It will take a lot of money to execute it and not sure what will be the incentives to do that.

As for centralisation, it is also possible, but we can see that it is distributed across, from US to Asia and even to some remote region in Russia and Europe. So again, it is present, but not seeing that it will disrupt the ecosystem.
931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 03, 2023, 11:12:44 AM
Nice thread. I’m surprised that Canada is on the second favorite to win the FIBA. I’m not familiar to there roster so anyone here enlighten me on what’s the backgorund of their roster for the bookie to give that odds for them to win? I was hoping to see Spain, France and Greece to be on that spot.

I wonder if the current odds of Serbia will still the same of Jokic decided to participate on FIBA this year. I think Serbia has a chance to beat USA if Jokic can lead his teammates since no one can stop him in the whole NBA league.

1 or 2 days ago Jokic announced that he won't play at the world cup, so the chances to win for Serbia got significantly smaller after those news.

Canada has a great team this year with a lot of high caliber NBA players: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), RJ Barrett (New York Knicks) , Dillon Brooks (Houston Rockets), Oshae Brissett (Boston Celtics), Luguentz Dort (Oklahoma City Thunder), Nickeil Alexander-Walker (Minnesota Timberwolves), Cory Joseph (Golden State Warriors), Kelly Olynyk (Utah Jazz) and Dwight Powell (Dallas Mavericks) .

For me this team looks even better than team USA to be honest.

Yes, I also take notice that Canada will have a NBA players in their list, so I wouldn't be surprised if they are in the second spot as far as the favorites goes. So and with that kind of lineup, yeah for sure they will give the Americans a run for their money with this kind of lineup.

However, I think the Americans can and will win this tournament, it's not gonna be easy though.

So for me, there could be some surprises on other brackets, specially if host country plays and they are the underdog.
932  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Scammers have created fake crypto projects using the X.com name. on: August 03, 2023, 10:57:11 AM
Scammers aren't going to let opportunities pass. When they're using marketing techniques they'll attract negative attention from scammers who'll try their luck. They'll plot to scam as many ppl as possible. If it isn't X.com it'll be the next famous business making waves.

It was expected that scammers would try to take advantage of the fact that Twitter is rebranding into X. It worked well in the past with all those fake Elon Musk crypto giveaways. I am sure these fake X token scams will be successful also. Greed is greater than logic, and unknowledgeable plebs will get hooked to this like crazy thinking Elon is throwing away money.

Yeah, and they are really good at it, finding those news that are hype like Twitter->X. And then this criminals jump on the opportunity to create a fake website just like what we have seen in the past.

And it's good that this community is still very active in catching this scammers and letting everyone knows and we can only hope that no one will fall for this trick because it's going to be very difficult to bounce back after you fall for it. So let everyone knows that they have been warn.
933  Economy / Speculation / Re: A technical view of Bitcoin's Current Market Situation and what to anticipate. on: August 02, 2023, 01:43:36 PM
It'll probably just spend a few more weeks bouncing around on either side of $30k, and then break out to like $33k-$35k late August or September.

We will see, I also have the feeling that we will get into or break $30k again. That is the biggest barrier so far, however, we have breach it already and pushing as high as $31k, just not enough momentum.

And what the OP is pointing out is what we have seen been playing, although I would extend the support line at $28k. Which we eventually reach but then we have a quick bounce back to highs of $29k.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Collective bets in local lotteries on: August 02, 2023, 12:39:32 PM

Maybe it can be tried but we have to ensure who can be in that group. We could choose our close friends to be a group so there is no jealousy or other feelings.

We really never know our friend until there's money involved, friends will agree on the terms when you're betting but it's different when you all win, there's also betrayal and quarrel along the way like if the person who thinks of the number ask for more shares.

So many things have to be settled or at least get the help of an attorney so you can all be guided on how to proceed in case your group the jackpot so everybody is bounded by an agreement created by lawyers, to avoid this hustle its better to just bet on your own if you hit the jackpot there is no agreement to follow.

This is also what I thought, I remember when I was a kid there was one story in our neighborhood wherein some individuals will asked a person to go to a lottery and put a bet on them. So usually this goes on smooth for months or for years, until suddenly when one of his patrons won a decent amount, it's not a the jackpot but like 5 out 6 numbers. But this man disappears and taking the winnings by himself and he was never seen again. And as you have said, when money is involved, even small amount, you really don't know what people are going to do.

Nonito Donaire Jr. ‘hurt’ after dad predicted he would get knocked out by Santiago

They have a very bitter parting of ways Donaire Sr. should not say that thing it's like wishing that his son to be in trouble you never do that to your son, boxing is a dangerous sport he knows it since he is a trainer also, by saying this he doesn't care on his son anymore.

Yes, I also read this feed in my twitter, I thought him and his father has settled their differences already. But it seems the older Donaire has some hatchet to bury with his son. And it's really sad to hear this one.

It was a bitter separation as far as I can remember, the involvement of Rachel Donaire as a manager in his boxing career really put a dent on his father and they were never the same again.
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 30, 2023, 02:25:49 AM
For sure many of us here lost our bet on Nonito Donaire. He can still pull the trigger but it didn't put a dent on Santiago. This guy is tough as he was able to survived the first couple of rounds wherein Donaire still has the strength and usually he does knockout his opponent in the first 4-5 rounds.

But it will be a disadvantage for his as his legs might not be there when the fight goes to middle up to the end, for 12 rounds. His age definitely shows in this fight. Not saying that he should retire already, only him and Rachel can decide what's good for him. But he can't take a beating like this at 40 years old, just saying.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 30, 2023, 01:47:04 AM

I hope it will work that way and not goes to the decision where the fight goes to the fighter who the judges wanted to win it most.  I also think that these two boxer will take their time sizing each other and action might start at the mid-round  maybe 4 or 5 rounds where action will start escalating.  I hope this fight won't be boring where the fight becomes a chess battle waiting and reacting.

I expect a slow start for both fighters because they both have respect for each other's power and reputation they will size each other for the first three rounds, and the action will start in round 4 and up, where they need to take action to compile points or have the advantage before they head to the middle rounds, we will know who has the upper hands in the middle rounds and if the fights go the distance both fighters will pour it out in the championship rounds.
Anywhere I look at it, it will be a very exciting match.

Yeah, Spence said that he wants to dictate the phase and uses his jab. So it's going to be a technical fight here, with Spence using his jab and most likely Crawford switching from lefty to orthodox as he is known to do this a lot in his fight to confuse his opponents.

It could be very well go to distance, but I'm thinking that in this fight, we will see someone going down in the later rounds. As they will be going at it in the middle rounds and then someone controlling it in the championships round and maybe score a knockout.

939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: July 29, 2023, 07:42:22 AM
I do not want to see this fight if Tank will be a little pussycat again and put various clauses in the contract to make the opponent weak when he goes to the ring. Tank does not want legacy, he only wants easy fights and money.

Tank has plenty of options at 135 and 140 all of which would be considered superfights, yet here we are with the Showtime Sports president trying to match him against a smaller fighter. Inoue is considered #1 pound for pound by most people and is well known across the world. There is no reason for him to accept any ridiculous limitations because he is an A-side fighter.

If we are very lucky that they announce something in the future, we will see. I am quite certain Tank Davis' team will play their dirty tricks to get an advantage before the fight. I reckon for Davis, the war begins during negotiations and similar to a real war, there will be nothing fair about it. However, yes, you are also right. Inoue is an A-list fighter, it would be on his terms. He would also not be stupid to agree to unfair deals like Ryan Garcia's team.

We've seen how and sorry for Tank Davis fans, but it seems that they are very treacherous in terms of their negotiations with Ryan Garcia and for sure this has been their tactics ever since as they included a lot in the contract that they are going to benefit and at the same disadvantageous like rehydration clause.

So yeah, we will see, not sure though if we can see this kind of fight in the future. Maybe Tank will go up as high as 147 lbs and then Inoue only at 130 lbs and that will only leave Manny Pacquiao as the only 8 division champ, from 108-154 lbs climb.
940  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hold coin on: July 28, 2023, 09:17:53 AM
what would you do if you got money?
which coin do you prefer to hold for long-term or short term and what do you expect from your portfolio?

If you ask that question from me then I say that I try to hold BTC because first of all, BTC is a modern form of money I think soon cryptocurrency f*** the paper money. then everything should be traded in digital coins like BTC and others.
BTC is now much lower than his ATH which means if you buy BTC at that time it means you can see a huge profit in the future but if only you hold BTC for a long time. it means a patent is required for it. that one also boosts your portfolio.
I think BTC broke his ATH in the year 2025 and make a new ATH on 100k what is your opinion?

Since you mentioned BTC a lot then for sure majority here is also going to look or hold BTC for a long time and most likely those who have been in many bear/bull market knows how to play this game as compare to some newbies, just saying.

In any case, you should also be doing that. I mean being a long time holder, or buy as much BTC as you can and simply hold and wait for the next ATH and take the profit. $100k? maybe, no know has the crystal ball to see what lies in the future. That's why the best approach is to just purchase while the price is still cheap and then we will see how far the price will go in the next bull run.
